Great drinks, fantastic atmosphere, and good food. I’ve been coming to the fish for 15 years now, and it’s only improved in time. Great beer, great food, fantastic service.

Had the seafood chowder and there wasn’t any seafood in it. It was terrible and I couldn’t eat it. They used to have salmon fish and chips that were really good but they don’t make them anymore. My husband had the BLT and he remembers when the bacon used to be thick and absolutely delicious but they’ve gone to an everyday bacon now. He ate his sandwich but said it was way too expensive for what he got. It took forever for service and our food was cold when we got it. We didn’t leave a tip. If you like beer and cider then go here. You’ll like the selection. Their dark and dry is lovely. Just don’t eat there. It’s very loud here too. I guess they’ve even had bands in here and I can’t imagine it. It would be deafening! They do have a family area that is more quiet so if you go, go in there.

had lunch there Jan 30th, I ordered the fish tacos. Ugh, they were not attractive to look at, there was no seasoning and everything was mushy… and the fries were.limp. Would never go back, it was noisy and food was lousy, Service was not good and seemed to be lacking in being friendly department.

We had the fish basket and the Bangers & mash paired with the Amber and Porter beer. Delicious meal, friendly and competent staff. We will return for a repeat.

The dark and dry hard apple cider is, by far, my favorite hard cider. The fun, relaxing ambience is always a pleasure to experience. Tonight I especially enjoyed the roasted red pepper soup, puréed with coconut — yum! Love this place!

Fish Tale Brew Pub. Its a good place to sit down with a cider or beer. Not very gluten free but I enjoyed my time there.

I’ve been in several times now. Food is always good as is the service. I am not a beer drinker, but the hard cider is fab! They have a great cider sampler so you can decide which is your favorite!

I love Fish Tale. Good food, good beer, nice staff. My only issue is they don’t offer that waffle sandwich during lunch. WTF!!!

Ahhh the aroma of fresh hops & barley permutes the nostrils upon walking in and I love it. Tucked into this Olympia warehouse district is the brewery and pub and when pub it’s a real pub with grub… The bar has 2 dozen taps of freakishly crafter beers & ciders for you to sample and if that’s not enough a huge cooler of bottles to go. Just don’t drink them and drive wink wink. I must say the Fish Tale brewery has some fine grub. My go to meal is the fish & chips. Nicely battered fresh flaky fish for your enjoyment. Heaping portions of fresh cut fries with coleslaw. Due to size you could share this meal with someone or be greedy and eat it all. The rock ste food is there clam Chowder, its a creamy Masterpiece with clams & potato’s in a very rich cream base for those tastebuds if yours that will scream holy sh! t. Very rarely does chowder amazing but damn for get Boston chowder this place knows how to make this bowl of wonder perfectly. Good food, good brew and great atmosphere. What more could you want? I shall return soon for a cup or bowl and beer. I guarantee it!

Great service and food. The beer is not my favorite and during day hours, they do not allow kids in to dine which is why I gave them 4 stars. The environment is warm and inviting as is their staff. I would much rather go to Fish Tale than Three Magnets, even through I like the beer better due to the excellent friendly service Fish Tale gives compared to the grumpy, slow staff at the other brewery. This place will continue to be one of my favorite date night establishments. Update: As you will see below, the manager responded to my review and they have added an area that is all ages! I have updated my review to 5 stars because of this. Now my kiddo can enjoy this great atmosphere with us!

I feel like you might have to be a local to get any kind of service here. I was passing through from Portland back to Seattle and wanted a good beer/food place on my way back. It took at least 5 minutes after sitting. Before a server came over to take initial drink orders and he never came back again to ask if we wanted another drink. 45 minutes and no 2nd offer isn’t acceptable. My dinner was meh. I got the BLAST — I don’t know what the S is, and my sandwich was just ok. My husband got the fish and chips and the entire time kept telling me how he wished he’s ordered something else. If I’m back in Olympia, I wouldn’t come back.

I’ll stop here for lunch or a dinner meeting when traveling through Olympia. It’s a double win — some of my favorite organic craft beers are there. And hey, the food is also terrific. Whether having fish and chips, their delicious burgers, fish tacos or today’s choice, the BLAST sandwich, you will not be disappointed. The BLAST is bacon, lettuce, avocado, Swiss cheese and tomato. Served on grilled sourdough bread. Sublime. Staff is friendly, helpful and provide great service. I’ll be back again soon.

I have been here a few times and really enjoy the atmosphere, especially being able to sit in comfortable chairs near a fire. This would be a great place to have a nice meal and drinks while also studying. I really enjoy there beer selection and the restaurant really adds to the brewery.

I frequented this spot when I lived in Olympia and was happy to see that the place has only gotten better since I moved away. The new family friendly area is a great idea and well done. This made it possible to have brunch here since our group now includes a baby. The service always left something to be desired and I found that this hasn’t changed. The waitress wasn’t rude on my most recent visit, but she wasn’t friendly and was a little awkward. It wasn’t bad enough to ruin our experience, but it certainly didn’t add to the experience. The brunch menu is awesome with many different options for all tastes. It was hard to choose one item and that’s why I didn’t choose just one thing. I had the Crab Benedict and Pancakes. The benedict came on a nice buttery English muffin and topped with a well prepared egg and plenty of crab. It’s a rich dish that I couldn’t stop eating. The pancakes were light and fluffy with a nice buttery flavor. I really enjoyed my brunch. I haven’t had anything from the brunch menu that wasn’t great. One thing missing from the menu was the Salmon Quesadilla. This was what brought my husband and I in regularly when we lived here. It was amazing and I’d love to see it on the menu on my next visit. For a downtown restaurant the parking is always easy since they have a lot next door. Parking has never been an issue on the weekends and evenings.

10÷19÷15 — 2pm — Went to watch the Hawks game and have a good beer — I got exactly what I wanted. Pros: — Great beer! Wintertime was super good! — Helpful, laid back service — Casual PNW atmosphere and décor Cons: — Didn’t have anything to eat so it’s hard to say.

Overall, it was ok. They have a good selection of beers. I had the blonde which was very good. For food, I had the fish tacos. These were just alright. I got two tacos which was fine, the filling could have used more fish. There really wasn’t a lot in there, maybe 3 small pieces per taco. It came with French fries which were really yummy and were obviously homemade. I sampled the pasta with crimini mushrooms. This was pretty tasty. Our table also got the Cubano which apparently was on the bready side. Like some other reviewers said, the staff leave something to be desired. Our waiter was kind of surly/stand-off ish. He pretty much just used one word answers when talking to us. I’m not sure I would be back again, but their beers are good!

Went here for a friend’s going away party. There is ample parking around the building and on the street. I loved the hand painted octopus on the wall outside as well as the outside eating area. Our table was upstairs but there really is a lot of space in this place inside and out. It also didn’t have that cramped bar feel that one sometimes gets. I will say that heat does rise though as it was pretty warm upstairs so we basically were all taking our clothes off and were practically naked by the end of the meal, but we kept it classy. The menu is very clear and vegan/vegetarian/gluten free options are noted. Although one of the people in my party that is gluten free had a question about the dressings for the salads and the waitress seemed a little uncertain about which options were GF, which can mean all the difference. I don’t drink hardly ever but opted for a chardonnay. My friend had a pear ale which was really amazing and I wish I could remember the name but everyone seemed to enjoy whatever beverage they were consuming. I ordered nachos. The nachos were reasonable. They weren’t the totally amazing where I’d lose sleep thinking and dreaming about how crazy mind blowing they were, but they certainly weren’t the worst. I’d say, typical bar food though. There were sandwiches and soups and a lot of other things to choose from though so it’s not all just bar food. It was a wonderful atmosphere as well. Everyone just seemed to be relaxing and chatting over a pint or a pitcher and just having a good time. It wasn’t too loud either, where as you could actually have a conversation. We went around 5:30 pm on a Friday and it was perfect. If you’re looking for more of a crowded bar feel, then this might not be the place for you. Anyway, I would maybe want to sit outside next time so I can people watch and take in the breeze
