Paul’s Burger and Teriyaki

A very nice couple runs this unassuming place in a little strip mall. They accommodated our very hungry party of 10. Whether you want a burger or teriyaki, the food will satisfy!

Great access from I5 with easy on off. The burgers were pretty good, nothing exceptional but good. The teriyaki chicken was great and portions were large. The honey sesame chicken wasn’t that good, a little too gooey.

I work in the same lot as them and they are super sweet, and even walk over our orders to us. It’s the little things that make for a good experience, and their food is excellent every time. Not to mention– you get so much for so cheap! Love this place, will be a continuous customer. Chicken Katsu or the teriyaki lunch deal is amazing!

Pretty good spot that is convenient — we like to do dinner take out from here. My wife likes the chicken breast Teryaki option and I like the spicy mix option. I wish they did brown rice as a healthy option but they don’t.
The couple that works there is nice and you can see their small business in action with husband cooking in the back and the wife running the register.
Give this place a try the next time you are in the area, the food is pretty good!

I love this place and the owners. Ruby is the one who will take your order and ring you up, and her sweet husband does most of the cooking. You’ll love the service and welcoming atmosphere, and the food is delicious! I usually get the Spicy Chicken Teriyaki and/​or Mongolian Beef, and I die over the salad dressing they serve with the lettuce… so good! The Spicy Chicken is the best I’ve found at ANY teriyaki place around town. It is perfectly spicy with a bit of sweet, and the sauce is served up with perfectly cooked onions as well. The Mongolian Beef comes served over these amazing crunchy rice noodles… I can’t get enough of it. Give them a try. I’ll be surprised if you’re disappointed!

Had a new experience in casual dining today. The Yaki Soba was fantastic, It was delivered by a server who talked on her cell phone while she brought it to my table.

It should first be pointed out that a «Paul’s Special» could also go by the name «cheeseburger»… it’s really not that special. On their menu the hamburger is «Paul’s Special without cheese» and their Bacon Cheese Burger is «Paul’s Special with bacon.»
Aside from not being very special, it was pretty decent. Well cooked, nice melty cheese, and not overboard on the sauce. However, the tomato slice on the burger really destroyed the whole experience. It was super thick and not even close to ripe… it essentially functioned as a tasteless hard lump in the middle of the burger. After taking it out, the rest was alright.

I have to agree with the other review the California Burger is awsome here. Probably one of the best burger joints in Oly. Sounds strange but true. Very nice service and quick.

I’ve eaten at Paul’s literally dozens of times but when I joined Unilocal I resolved to only review places after I’ve eaten there again after I joined. Consistently good burgers, (my favorite is the California Burger) paired with HOT crunchy fries and a good asian selection make this place a local favorite. The Tempura is always good, large portions of fried rice, crunchy stir fried veggies, and great noodle amke for a tough choices between the asian and the burgers. They have a great sesame salad dressing that comes on the salad that comes with every asian dish that I want to take home by the jar but haven’t been able to con them out of yet!
