I had the Bahn Mi. It was very good meat, fresh tasting pickled vegetables, and very good bread.

Best phở place in town. I’ve tried every single phở place in Thurston County, there is a ton lol. I’m obsessed ;) But this one is undeniably the most consist. Best tasting broth and tons and tons of meat. Springrolls are bomb and i order them everytime. Definitely should give this place a try. You will not regret it. Absolutely delicious

We eat here at least once a month. The phở and the fried rice are by far my favorite in town. I can’t believe I have lived in Lacey my entire life and just discovered this place within the last year or so.

We ordered the papaya salad w/shrimp, the vietnamese sandwich and the kids phở. The shrimp in the papaya salad were def. going bad. They tasted like dirt, and were kind of soft. The papaya and the cucumbers were fine, but I couldn’t eat much of it bc the shrimp ruined it. The Vietnamese sandwich was just okay. Had too much mayo in my opinion. The phở wasn’t anything special. Probably won’t be going back.

Amazing food! The food was so fresh and full of vegetables! I couldn’t get enough and cleaned my plate! Fast and friendly service and open on Sunday! Love this place!

My husband and I enjoyed our phos. I believe he ordered the meatball brisket, while I ordered the seafood phở. He ordered egg rolls and I ordered summer rolls. We enjoyed our food, though it was hard not to compare it to our local favorite, Saigon Phở in Phoenix.

What I love here is the Phở and the meat sandwich 5a. Everyone I’ve taken here thinks its good, and I think it’s one of the best Phở places around here. Everything was flavorful. The place is a little crowded sometimes but even with the crowd the wait is not so long. Food comes out fast and people are nice. It is a little noisy, but its not their fault. I would highly recommend this place obviously as I’ve taken many people here.

Yum this place pretty much rocked it for me! My belly is so full! Came here for the first time because of «other phở place» was closed on Mondays. I ordered the tofu with vegetables and it was hot, fresh and tasty! The veggies were carrots, cabbage and broccoli. I think the broth is number one. This place was packed at 1pm. The service was great and food came out super fast. We ordered the eggrolls and they were crunchy and greasy just how I like them! Small parking lot but overflow parking nearby.

Best phở in Olympia, no questions asked. They make their own bone broth. Service is good and honest.

I stopped in here with some friends and as soon as we sat down we realized it was really smoky in the restaurant — almost like old grease in the fryer smoke smell. It was a real turn off but we decided to stay anyway. Our food was ok — we had vermacelli bowls and fried rice. Nothing special — just whatevs. What was really interesting and irritating was the server brought us a card reader when we were ready to pay and DIDNOT have an itemized receipt. We asked for an itemized receipt and he said he didnt have one. This is unacceptable. As a customer I expect to be able to see what we are charged. This alone is enough for me to not come back. Meh.

Stopped here on the way to Seattle. Very friendly owner. Clean restaurant(way cleaner than most phở places, I must say). New and easy to read menus. We ordered the Vermicelli special and the Seafood Noodles. The Vermicelli was great quality and the meat was sliced so thinly and delicately that it was easy to mix with the noodles and provided a very satisfying experience. Seafood Noodles were okay. The shrimp tasted like it was frozen just a few minutes before it was served to me and there was only one mussels and mostly fish balls. Was disappointed but could have possibly just ordered the wrong dish for my liking.

Fantastic phở! Im from portland and needed me a phở fix on a very cold day. These guys rocked it very fast and friendly service, solid phở broth. They even boxed the leftovers for us. Highly recomended

Truly excellent Vietnamese phở soup. Just passing through but would absolutely make this a regular spot if I lived here. Excellent sized portions, even the kids meal pictured above was the size of a large bowl at some other places I’ve been.

They have the best phở and bun bo hue I’ve ever had. After moving to Seattle and eating bad phở I realized how great this place really is. The building itself looks a little shabby but it has a nice mom and pop feel to it.

I was excited to try this place because it has some of the highest ratings for phở restaurants in the Lacey area, but I didn’t walk away super impressed. The meal hit the spot, but I was looking for something more. Part of the reason could have been that this was the first time I tried a cold vermicelli noodle bowl(in my mind, it would be phở sans the broth) and although i was not completely disappointed, my meat was slightly dry. Underwhelming flavoring on the meat and I would have loved more veggies. Still the cold noodles were refreshing, especially after sitting in the summer heat outside, and there was more than a generous heap of noodles in my large bowl — I could barely get through 1⁄3 of the noodles in my bowl! I also tried their iced tea* — a bit too sweet for my taste. The BF had beef cubes with rice**, one of his favorites, and he devoured it… so I’m pretty sure it was good :). We also had some fresh spring rolls that were on point. I’m not fully counting out Phở Sai Gon. I think the next time though, I will opt for their phở bowl and come back to let you know what I think then. ===== *and by tea, i mean coffee… doh! **correct menu item is the Grilled Beef. BF always gets beef cubes with rice here in NY and said that’s what he would order here. When his order came out it had beef on it so i assumed it was all the same, not knowing it was a different order/menu item. Thanks Su N. and Dean W. for the catch!

I agree with the other reviewers who say their broth is the best. Beef and chicken are both superb. I have not even tried very many other Vietnamese restaurants in Washington because Phở Sai Gon 8 is as good as some of the best California phở restaurants. I only wish they made better spring rolls. Theirs are decent but would be so much better with mint, basil, and romaine lettuce instead of iceberg. Restaurant has good ambience and cleanliness. Service has always been friendly for me, whether takeout or dine-in. One of my favorite places in Olympia.

Is there something special about this place that I don’t know about? Or are people overrating this average phở restaurant? Probably the latter. My chicken phở and egg rolls came to $ 13.00. This seems a bit much. $ 7.00 for a bowl and $ 4.00 for egg rolls sounds about right. The price should have been closer to $ 10.00. I don’t understand why Phở Sai Gon 8 has a 4.5 star rating. The service was decent, but nobody ever returned to refill my water glass. I was using a lot of hot sauce and REALLYWANTEDSOMEMOREFREAKINGWATER, but didn’t want to stand up and educate these people on customer service. Yes, the egg rolls are good. It is possible to make bad egg rolls because I have had them, but fortunately these were pretty damn tasty. The phở, however, was bland. I spiced it up with some hot sauce, which backfired on me because I needed to ration my water supply. Otherwise, it wasn’t bad at all. It had nice, white pieces of chicken and plenty of noodles. I realize that these restaurants love to dump green stuff into your bowls, like, cilantro. I hate this stuff, but it’s fine. I have learned to eat around them. Phở Sai Gon 8 seems to throw an abnormally large number of «green things» in their bowls. Not sure why. Overall, this was an exceptionally average experience. No surprises and no real serious criticisms… other than the water issue. Feel free to visit Phở Sai Gon 8, but don’t expect to have a teeth-shattering phở’gasm.

I’ve tried their Phở Tai(raw steak) and Phở chin(brisket). You can’t get both meats unless you add tendon and or meatballs. I thought the broth had funky, unpleasant flavor. Also, there are no vegetarian phở options — all phở is served with that beef broth including the chicken or tofu/veg option. But they also serve something called Southern noodle soup which is chicken broth based which i haven’t tried. So next I tried their Bun(rice noodle salad). The Bun Bo Nuong(grilled beef bowl) was pretty good and that’s what i get now when i stop here. Prices are pretty reasonable 6.89 for small phở, 7.36 for the beef salad The restaurant itself is pretty basic, could be cleaner. with individual tables but also shared communal tables. Not somewhere to take a date you want to impress. I usually get takeout. Not the best, not the worst. I’m giving a 3 star because of the funky phở and weird parking and basic semi clean restaurant space, but the benefit of the doubt because they have a big menu and I’ve only tried a few things.
