Subway

Friendly helpful staff and good food. Unfortunately the cleanliness of the restrooms is not up to my standards.

When I first saw a 24 hour subway, my reaction was one of confusion. Who really needs a footlong sub at 1 AM?
My confusion quadrupled when it turned out that there were actually 4 in the greater (generally sleepy) Olympia area. One seems like far more than enough.
After getting hungry at midnight one weeknight and deciding to give it a shot, I finally understood. It seems they simply move people around and have less people stocking and cleaning during the day while instead having one person do it all night long (while serving the approximately 6 people that trickle in between 10 PM and 6 AM).
An interesting calculation. One that I certainly approve of as a night owl.
