Hilton Omaha

I stayed at this hotel for the first time last week and it’s nice and convenient to the CenturyLink which I appreciated since I was working there. My disappointment came with poor customer service regarding 2 things: (1) my privacy sign was removed from my door without my knowledge and my room was cleaned one day when I didn’t want it and (2) I was so sick the day I checked out, I accidentally left an item behind in my room. I realized when I got back home the the day after, that I had left it and contacted the hotel. They looked for my item but advised that it had been thrown away.
I advised them about the privacy sign incident and stated that I was disappointed about my lost item but thanked them for looking. I received no response or apology to either of these things. I have a previous background in customer service and understand sometimes mistakes happen, etc… but a complete lack of empathy or apology is really unacceptable to me, especially given that there is a privacy issue involved. I can only assume that because I have already checked out and am no longer a guest there, that it doesn’t matter to the hotel staff so they don’t feel the need to apologize now that they have their money.
Another strange thing is their Business Center Lounge does not provide free alcoholic beverages for any period of time. I travel frequently for work and typically, all of the lounges I stay at have free alcoholic beverages except this one. Not sure why but I feel that if you’re an elite member and have status with a hotel chain, this should be part of your package.
All in all, my stay was okay, the shuttle service is great but I wish the actual hotel staff had been nicer and privacy should be taken more seriously than it was during my stay.

Checking in: (poor service)
Story– There was a dark, long, straight hair lady at the front desk to check us in on 10÷29÷15 around 3:45pm. She was incredible rude.
I mentioned that the person paying wasn’t there but had called and made arrangements with you guys. She said I cannot hold the room unless I have a credit card from you. This isn’t what we were told over the phone. I was still being polite while she wasn’t. I gave her my card. She said when you check out you can switch cards back to the person who you wish to have pay. I thought well WHAT’s the purpose then??? I just said fine. I was so tired from our early flight and long day already.
She didn’t not explain well that we had free breakfast snacks on our floor. I found out via the nice neighbors we found in the hotel.

Story — There was a big, tall, kind of young looking guy checking us out of the hotel. 1) He never made eye contact and suddenly stares like okay what. He said he could not charge the original card that we wished to use because that person’s card info was removed. This is not what the dark haired girl told us.
He rudely said well I will have to charge your card today or you can wait around until we receive a FAXED PAPER from the card holder who is not here, then wait 24 – 48 hrs for it GO THROUGH. Are you kidding me? Again this is all around 5:30am.
This was so well planned on our part and they keep changing their minds about their own rules. He then rudely goes can you move so I can check out these people behind you really quick.
I made a phone call to the card holder and he spoke with the guy. He didn’t realize the card holder does not bs around and is a very wise, mature gentleman. He changed his tune quick. I say they should both be reprimanded (training can’t fix that) for their piss poor attitudes to someone who never got rude with them. I was clear, concise and kept my cool the entire time. I will never, never, be back or recommend this place ever.
Restaurant: ugh, tiny portions and tastes ok. I wouldn’t spend the money on it if you have a way to get around this small town.
Room: nothing spectacular but quite decent… I slept well on their beds.
I stayed here ¹⁰⁄₂₉ — ¹⁰⁄₃₁. Checking out on ¹⁰⁄₃₁. I stayed on the last floor.
By the way, the listed prices does not include the daily incidents charge.
This was one of the worst hotel experience ever.

If you haven’t been to Omaha you can ditch any notions this is a little city in the middle of nowhere.
The city seems to appear out of nowhere on the drive in from the airport. In the heart of it all is the Hilton.
In many cities, the lobby of hotels like this are empty… not the Hilton. The hotel is very luxurious and there were a bevy of people drinking, eating and enjoying themselves.
The staff including the van driver and front desk staff were so helpful and welcoming. Offering information about the hotel and other establishments downtown.
The interior of the hotel is pretty swanky… think a modern version of the late sixties.
The room is big and decorated very nicely. Retro colors of soft blue, orange and neutrals. The bathroom is loaded with granite and soft lighting and a big luxurious shower.
I have no doubt this is the nicest hotel in Omaha and I hope I can come back soon.

This Hilton provides complementary shuttle service to and from the airport, which is very convenient. Their shuttle also can take you downtown if you decide not walk. Everyone I spoke with was friendly. The hotel room had all the essentials including a comfortable bed. If the weather’s nice, I definitely recommending walking to the Iowa/​Nebraska border and snapping a photo to say you’ve been at two states at the same time (nerd alert ;)).

A gem in the Omaha rough! Too bad the gym closes at 10pm, what else is there to do out here when the street lights turn off… BONUS: A handsome lounge, well appointed rooms, decent restaurant and attractive accents throughout.

Semi-​decent hotel if you don’t mind walking a half mile to your room, or the lack of working internet connectivity. Can’t say that cell service in building is good either, but the building itself is very posh looking internally.
Oh, the one other thing I ran into was their rooms don’t have fans in the bathrooms, so expect your room to be humid after showering. Beware of mold due to this!

Overall this is a nice hotel. It is located in an area close to everything. I had food at the bar last night and it was good. I went with the burger and sweet potato fries. I’m leery of fancy food at a hotel. You can’t go wrong with a burger and fries.
My beef is with the coffee shop downstairs. It doesn’t open until 6. I’m not usually one to complain but 5:30 should be the opening time. It’s a business hotel and people are up early. Oh well.

This hotel has many issues. Most of which involves the staff and their unwillingness to enjoy their job. I am a diamond member which means I travel entirely too much so I have many experiences to compare.
The shuttle service is a joke here — do not depend on it. We stayed on a Saturday and wanted to watch the Nebraska football game and they didn’t get the channel (ESPN2)! Seriously? There is nothing wrong with the rooms but there is nothing special either.
The location is good if that’s what you need but if you don’t — drive by this place and stay somewhere else.

I’ve had some very good experiences and some very bad ones here, but overall it’s a good hotel. The interior decorator did an exceptional job, so it is quite easy on the eyes. The hotel is located right next to the stadium so if that is the reason you are visiting the city this is the place to stay. I’ve ordered room service here on a few stays and everytime the same delivery woman has dropped off the food to my room. The first time was the worst. She was so rude and condescending and even said that she would not incorporate a discount into my bill that I am supposed to receive through my job and called me a liar! I reported her to management, and since then she has gotten better, but she has a real chip on her shoulder. Sometimes I’m actually afraid she might do something to my food and late at night there is really no where to get food from around this area of downtown Omaha so you’re very short on options.

I really have zero complaints for the time I was there. The reception was fast, the room was clean and nice. The doors are blue. Parking was expensive but always is. Food was good and drinks were wet. What more do you want.

Was so-​so. The rooms were ok, pretty dusty and outdated. The pool was not much to get excited about. More of a lap pool for business execs than a kid friendly pool. Super hot and stuffy in the pool area, and you are only allowed to take in bottled water. They charge an additional $ 14/​night for parking on top of what you are paying for the nightly hotel rate. The lobby bar was our favorite part of the hotel. Decent food, good drinks and a great staff. We wouldn’t stay here again… we would look for something a little more kid friendly and laid back.

A new, clean, very corporate feeling Hilton. No complaints aside from having to pay $ 10 for the fitness center per person, and the rooms were a little stuffy despite the AC being on full blast. Stayed here due to a good online deal but will probably opt for one of the boutique hotels that I usually stay in next time… more perks there and feels more personable. Would be a convenient location though if guests were doing anything at the AmeriTrade center, etc.

Don’t go to the hotel restaurant! Our server himself was great, but it took us at least 15 min to be SEATED. The place was fairly empty, but they were the most disorganized bunch I have ever seen. They advised they had a group of 150 science teachers staying and they came in each morning (but if you know that, why not be better staffed/​prepared?), and that set them back. We were hoping for a relatively fast meal, as we were on our way to the zoo. Our meal took us over an hour. In retrospect it would have been easier if we had all ordered the overpriced buffet. However, we stupidly ordered off the menu and regretted it. Food on the buffet was actually better but not great.
We ended up going to the Upstream Brewing Company the next morning and were not at all disappointed.
Aside from that, the hotel was nice. They never mentioned the $ 14 they charge per night for the parking, so that was a surprise.

Our room didn’t have towels. After calling the front desk for some, they never brought us any. We eventually got some from the pool. Our hallway was continually littered with room service castoff trays. To get to the pool, you walk through the health club. Seems like a poor layout. There was a towel crammed in one of the air vents, I don’t know why. The safe didn’t lock.
The executive lounge was fun and the food at breakfast /​appetizers were pretty decent. Beds were pretty comfortable. Elevators were plentiful and fast.

Stayed here when for a conference I went to for school. Let me start off by saying, being from South Carolina, they had true southern hospitality here! The entire 5 days we were here, the entire staff made sure we were well taken care of. They have a free shuttle that take you anywhere within 3 miles of the hotel. They are very helpful giving you suggestions for good places to eat at. The rooms were very nice. The beds, very comfortable, and plenty of space to store our stuff. We stayed 3 to a room and never felt crowded. The shower did spill a good amount of water into the bathroom though. The pool was very nice, and a good size for an indoor one. The hot tub, just as nice.
Overall, a good place to stay for the price.

It seems like this hotel is just constantly busy with groups and conventions that the hotel lobby is just never quiet. This hotel feels greatly understaffed as I have never felt like I received the attention I should’ve deserved. (Do I sound like a princess?)
Rooms were clean. Hotel is within walking distance to Old Market or if you’re lazy like my friend and I, the complimentary shuttle will take you anywhere within a 3 mile radius. Calling the shuttle to pick us up was a pain as the shuttle driver passed us up three times and never even bothered looking in the general area where we had called and said we were. It was kind of annoying.
Like another reviewer mentioned, the hotel’s floor plan is terrible. Once I got off the elevator to go to my room, it took quite a while walking down the hallway to get to my room. It felt like it would never end!
Busy hotel. Received no undivided attention. Hotel seems to be in the center of a lot.

I recently had to change my reservation during my trip and this location was available. I normally have amazing stays at Hilton locations. However, this trip was not what I expected.
The staff with the exception of one person was rude, disengaged, and behaved as if they could care less about me as a guest or the couple concerns I brought up.
There is not real shop on site with snacks or drinks except a coffee shop with way over priced products. So if you want anything for you room you should stop and get it before reach the hotel.
Next the room was ok but the shower curtain had very bad mold on the bottom and shower smelled. I told the front desk on my way out the first day and let a note for housekeeping. When I returned it was not corrected and was late so I did not feel like messing with it that late at night and having to leave early. I told the front desk on day two and when I returned again nothing.
I then told the desk when I checked out about the shower issue and how disappointed I was that issue was never corrected. Instead of apologizing and asking/​offering how to make it right I was verbally blamed. I was being grilled about the issue as if I had done something wrong. «Well why didn’t you tell someone!» (add some attitude) was the guys response at the desk. I kept my composer and simply left without getting into an argument
The housekeeping did not do a very good job cleaning the room, they did not vacuum at all, the towels were not fully stocked, bathroom mirror when steamed up had writing on it from a previous guest which clearly housekeeping had not cleaned recently.
Room service was hit and miss one meal was great and the other was disgusting and not even made correctly.
The facility is pretty and looks modern and up to date. It is not the worst property I have ever stayed at by far. I am sure some people have good experiences here.
Everyone and every business has good and bad days. These few days are definitely bad days for this location. I hope they got better since I left.

I should start by saying that I have no problem walking, but my oh my — what a poor hotel floor plan when it comes to the elevators. There’s only one main elevator bank, and you’re likely going to have to schlep your stuff up and down the hallways upon check in and check out. Seriously, think about using the bellman if you are mobility impaired.
That being said, the hotel appears to be on the newer side and while I thought the rooms were clean and the staff was friendly — it just didn’t impress… or maybe I’m having a hard time being objective since I’m kind of a hotel snob as I travel a lot for work and Hiltons are never my first choice. Either way, I would probably choose to try another Omaha hotel before coming back to this one.

Really enjoyed staying here. Parking was easy, location was ideal. Bathroom was large and I’ve decided I need one of the nightlight/​overhead light combos for my own bathroom. Shuttle runs ²⁴⁄₇ on demand in a 3mi radius which was AWESOME. And the shuttle guys were very nice. We had one mix up (waited 30mins when I was quoted 10) and after I called, I got many apologies and a shuttle was there within 7 mins to get us.
Two downsides: the pillows are super squishy and not firm at all. My head sinks right into the pillow. I don’t find that comfortable. And I stopped by the front desk on our way out of the hotel for the day asking for an additional bath towel and ended up with no towels at all haha but a quick call to the front desk had that remedied within 20mins.
Overall: Clean, friendly, nice stay. I would come back here again.

They let us check in about 8 hours early so I’m a happy camper that’s about all that warrants the two star review. The place smelled a little moist– kind of like hamsters. Bed was comfy, bathrooms need a more thorough cleaning, rooms are kind of small.
They don’t really seem to give two shits about customer service here. The staff seemed like it was a chore to do their job.
Called for towels, no towels ever came.
Called for room service and was told I must have had an old menu because everything I was ordering was no longer available. So you don’t keep updated items in your rooms or clean the rooms? Sweet! Tik tok still waiting on my new menu to arrive… Fail
