Lo-Lo’s was good, but not super good. I did find the menu to be a nice tongue-in-cheek take on southern humor. I had gotten the plate with two drumsticks and a waffle. The chicken was delicious, crunchy and flaky. Whatever seasoning they use was really good, had a nice homy feel to it. The drumsticks were meaty, not overwhelmed or overpowered by the batter and were two large pieces. I also appreciated the giant mason jars of beverages! The homemade lemonade was super good, not too sweet and not too sour. I think we can all agree, the portions are well worth the price. The only downfall was the waffle. Being a chicken and waffles place, I thought the waffle would be homemade, fluffy and light. But, the waffle was the sad half of my meal, tasting and looking that it came from the freezer. It was a bit on the chewy side and very bland tasting. Large, but nothing to rave about. Overall. Lo-Lo’s is average, having its redemption being the fried chicken they serve. Service was great; friendly, quickly and attentive which is always a plus. Will probably come back to get more fried chicken!

Tried this place for the first time yesterday and grabbed some dinner to-go. I ordered the 3 piece soul food platter with Mac n Cheese, Smothered Potatoes, and Cornbread Muffin. First I’ll start with the bad: We ordered around 4:30pm on a Sunday and they were out of breasts. How this happens is beyond me. The 2 things they should never run out of are chicken breasts and waffles. Especially when they share a parking lot with Baker’s. Just go buy some. So instead I had to get 2 drumsticks and a wing. The pieces of chicken were much smaller than I expected. Since they were out of breasts, they should have given us an extra wing for free. Now on a positive note: the chicken was delicious. Very moist and a tasty breading. The smothered potatoes were whipped and had a southern red gravy on them. My wife didn’t care for the gravy but I thought it was good and different. Along with her chicken, she had a waffle which was good but a little soggy. I think it just doesn’t travel well. If we were to eat it in the restaurant, I’m sure it would have been crispier but nothing that an oven can’t fix in 5 mins. The star of the show was the Mac n cheese. Very creamy and everything I was hoping it would be. Next time I may have to try the shrimp Mac n cheese with bacon. The cornbread muffin was a little on the dry side and not as sweet as I normally like but the corn kernels in it were a nice touch. If they hadn’t run out of breasts or at least made up for it, I would have given them an extra star.

Some of the best fried chicken In town!!! The waffles are light fluffy and cooked to perfection. The best part is that they have 6 flavors of kool-aid on their menu!!! The menu includes soo many tasty sounding options with funny names.

I’ve been to Lo-Lo’s three times now for breakfast. I love the big biscuits that you get with your meal. I always ask them to bring me some honey to go with my biscuit. I love that they serve grits also. The waffles are made with a hint of cinnamon which is delicious. My boyfriend likes their fried chicken. Lo-Lo’s staff has always been very nice and helpful as well.

The chicken was flavorless, I expected a lot more from all the rave about the place. I found most of the food to be blah. The service was ok, but was not friendly or helpful, pretty slow. I don’t think they cared if we were there or not, did not feel welcomed. I just tried the chicken dinner, my family had a variety of things, everything else was ok, just not outstanding.

I owe these guys a retraction from my first review. I could that they were overwhelmed because they just opened. I will not delete my preview review because that would not be a fair thing to do. I came back many times after. I have never better chicken and waffle! It taste freshly cooked, tender and juicy. The only place that I’ve had it as good is at my hometown of LA at Roscoes in Hollywood. I miss it so much now that I moved out of Omaha 2 weeks ago.

Cool concept for a chain, but overall the food was very ‘chain-like’ so it was borderline okay. We checked this place out on New Years Eve, were seated right away. The place is clean, the interior comfortable, and the staff was friendly. Started out with drinks and my wife and I both had Moscow Mules, and our daughter a Kool Aid(the Kool Aid is good!). Our drinks were good, but pretty light on the pours. Since we were at a chicken and waffle place, well that’s what I went with. The fried chicken had a great crispy skin, but the meat itself was a bit dry(though some syrup AND hot sauce added helped out). The waffle was sub par in my opinion. It had the taste and consistency of a frozen waffle, not fresh made. Overall it was okay, and if I came back I would order it again, it wasn’t bad, Just not great. My wife had the steak and potatoes and she thought the steak had a lot of gristle and the potatoes weren’t hot. Our daughter had the French Toast, of which I had a couple bites. I have to say with the syrup and chocolate sauce, it was pretty rich and tasty. I don’t know that I would search out this place specifically, but it was okay.

Good food and huge portions but BADSERVICE by Charlene! When asked what beverage I wanted, I asked where it was located in the menu and she just walked away. Fortunately, I viewed Unilocal prior and was able to ask for sweet tea and water. When the fried gizzards arrived, no dipping sauce was offered, so I asked for ranch. She then brought ranch and mustard sauce. My fiancé ordered KK’s and she didn’t bring the fried eggs and grits that accompanies the meal until we asked moments later. No apology from her for her mistake. As I was eating the fried okra in front of me, she arrived with my Lil Amadi plate and used it to push the okra plate away from me. Rude and unprofessional service! My 3 stars is for overall atmosphere, food, and customer service. In the event I return again, I will request not to have her as my server. Otherwise, trendy and appropriate décor, and most importantly, tasty food! The fried chicken is crispy and on point while the mac & cheese is delicious! In addition, they provide warm syrup for the waffles.

Finally got to Lolo’s tonight and they had their Grand Opening happening. The special tonight was $ 5.50 for three prices of chicken and two waffles. Heck of a deal. Place was full, but I was promptly seated as I was solo. Had a wonderful server who pretty much knew I wanted that special. Water was served in a gigantic mason jar chock full of ice. Food came in a reasonable time. First bites of warm waffle with syrup(there was some cinnamon somewhere here) were good. First bites of chicken were good, nice crisp skin and the chicken was steaming. As I went through the meal the taste kind of wore on and the chain quality started to come through. It’s was filling meal that started off better than it ended. I got my money’s worth and more. This is one of those«cursed» spots in Omaha, but I think if they can keep the service up it will succeed. I will be trying some other dishes(this gizzards with rice and gravy sounded right up my alley) and drinks here soon.

I went to the Lolo’s in Arizona, and I honestly was not that impressed then, but everyone has been raving about them, so I went a couple of nights ago, I ordered 3 piece with waffles and onion rings. Unfortunately, I remain unimpressed. The pluses: the chicken is huge and juicy. The onion rings were big and there onions were hefty and meaty. The minuses: while the skin was nice and crispy, there was just not a lot of flavor and the meat itself had no flavor. The waffles were meh, frozen Eggo waffles have more character IMHO, the onion rings were where way beyond greasy, maybe the grease they fried them in wasn’t hot enough, but I just couldn’t eat them. I don’t think I’ll be back.

As others have said, the portions are HUGE! I had the 2 piece and waffle! That was more than enough for this big guy(6 ft, 335 lbs). My wife and I went on a Tuesday for lunch. Keyana, the wonderful, attentive server, was awesome. Made some great recommendations for both of us. The candy sweets(sweet potatoes) and the red beans and rice were wonderful. Loved how the drinks are served in Mason jars. Adds to the Soul food feel of the place. Love the fact that we were both full afterwards, but not weighed down. We didn’t eat dinner until late that evening. Definitely worth the trip! Will be there again, soon, I hope!

The fried chicken is some of the best I’ve had and the waffles are very good. When they combine flavor a and you add a bit of hot sauce you have something pretty amazing. My one big complaint though is the service. My drinks sit empty for long periods of time while I wait for the server to walk by. By the time they come back my meal is gone and I’m ready to leave. I’ve also been in a few times where the server brings the wrong drinks or even food because they didn’t write it down. I recommend the food, but the service leaves something to be desired

I want to eat everything on this menu but I would end up dead before I could get through it. The portions are out of control! A friend and I went there a couple of weeks ago on a Sunday about 3pm. There was a 30 minute wait and since we drove across town to get there, we were waiting. It moved rather quickly and once we were seated, our wait staff, Joseph was attentive and awesome. He recommended the blue raspberry Kool-Aid and I said yes.(See picture). It was really tasty but missing something, I ordered a double shot of Stoli as it needed a kick. Yes, please! I will order that again. I got the name sake chicken and waffles. The chicken was hot as balls when it came to the table. Once I could touch it without inflicting serious pain to myself, I tore into it. Juicy and moist are two words which should only be applied to chicken. This bird lived(or died, your choice) up to its full chicken-y potential. The breading was delicious and I want it in my mouth again! The waffles were thin and crispy. I am pretty sure the maple syrup wasn’t real organic, renewable, sustainable hippy dippy but that’s okay! It still worked with the chicken and the waffles. Seriously, I am drooling now. The friend had the dinner platter and I want to say the best thing on there was the mac and cheese. You know that kind where it’s cheesy and a little crispy from being baked and that wonderful consistency and terrific mouth feel? Lucky for me, everything on that plate was rather tasty! The catfish was flakey, the cornbread and potato salad were lovely. We had a lovely experience and would go back there again but you can really only go once a month before your arteries clog and you fall over but what a way to go!

Let’s get this out of the way… this is NOWAY a fast food restaurant! But the food is good… PERIOD!!! We had catfish platter and the Hangover Malaysia’ Focheesy Juicy Hood Burger with egg… both were excellent. The sides of Mac and cheese, collard greens and fries were really good. But the service… SLOW!!! Nice people though… but I’ll wait to get good food. Just need to work on the speed of service. I made this up years ago: SAP They need to concentrate on SPEED, ACCURACY and PRECISION… But the food gets a 8.75

Not impressed. The wait was quite long, which would have been acceptable had our food or service been better. The food was no greater than average. The chicken was dry. The sautéed squash and zucchini were seasoned to taste like a Pizza Hut breadstick– quite the awkward taste. Mac n cheese was decent, fried okra was decent. Would I go here again? Probably not. It just wasn’t worth the money. Our server was nice, but again, very slow. There were some food-runners that helped him out and when we thanked one she didn’t respond to us. When we asked the other food-runner for plates she never brought them. If you are looking for quality fried chicken in Omaha I recommend Big Mama’s or Dunn Deal.

Fried chicken and fried okra — 4.5 stars Melon mojito, gravy — 3.5 stars Grits, corn bread, waffle, mashed potatoes — 3 star Service — 2 stars Yep, the service was poor and most of the sides were in the«just fine» category. But I’m a southern girl who had been in despair about my lack of options for fried okra in Omaha and the fried okra here knocked it out of the ballpark, as did the fried chicken. I’ll suffer through the poor service to feel like I’m eating from a restaurant below the Mason-Dixon line again. So I’m giving this one four stars, despite plenty of «just fine» dishes, because you come for the fried chicken, and in my case, fried okra, and those won’t disappoint.

First off I would like to say that I LOVE chicken and waffles. The salty sweet combination of waffles, chicken and syrup is really to die for. So our expectations for Lo Lo’s was pretty high. We waited about 45 minutes on Saturday for lunch. Our waiter was phenomenal — however we were one of the lucky ones… I noticed that some of the tables around us who had other waiters/waitresses were not as well taken care of. Our waiter said he was flown in from another Lo Lo’s in Pheonix to help with the new Omaha restaurant… so they are still trying to fill in gaps in their staffing I believe. We ordered the corn fritters, Lo Lo’s Chicken and Waffles, plus Chicken Strips and fries. Corn fritters were kind of odd… american cheese, corn kernel concoction with bits of jalapeño, dipped in breading and deep fried. They were good but not amazing. The highlight of the meal was the fried chicken. It was cooked perfectly. The seasoning on the breading was out of this world and it paired well with the sweet syrup. The waffles however were soggy, but they had really great flavor as well. Plus they serve Sweet Tea & Kool Aid in mason jar mugs… I mean… how freaken great is that. All in all good food… we plan on going back. I have a feeling once they work out the kinks and get everything running a little smoother it will be even better.

Well folks, the wait was an hour and a half, but I am happy to say my meal was well worth the wait. I ordered chicken and waffles. The chicken was on point –deliciously seasoned throughout and battered to perfection. The waffles were just as tasty and served with syrup seasoned with a hint of cinnamon flavor –very nice touch. I can’t wait to try other items on the menu!
