This place is Ok. Nothing more, nothing less. Pretty mediocre. Here’s the thing, most people who eat there over the lunch hour are on lunch. You know, not a time to graze and check out scenery. but get food, eat and get back to work. They had 2 employees today. it was busy. I don’t mind waiting for my turn, but 2 employees. One worked the food line and one the register. I ordered the ceaserized salad. I’ve had it before and it’s pretty good. However, everything is already chopped up. Why did she assemble my salad, dump it out then chop it into smithereens? Why, it’s already chopped!!! No need for that. You do not need to chop chopped lettuce and chopped veggies. I paid $ 10 for the«green» size, the smaller version. Then for a side I said chips, she said Ok, ran my card and gave me my sack. Got out to the car and no chips. Was she previously in the back smoking pot? Oh well, I will go back but not often. I think it’s way overpriced.

Short and sweet on this one: More selections than one can ever figure out what to do with(but that is a GREAT thing), fresh ingredients, helpful staff, nice portion sizes and prizes probably on par with the sizes. I hope to get this restaurant in my regular lunch rotation and look forward to checking out more of the menu.

Awesome spot great and fresh every time I go, and the staff is always helpful, far far better value and product than Greenbelly.

I really really want to give this place a 5 star. Love the concept and the salads are good. The problem is that on the three occasions I have been here, they are always out of at least one of the salad ingredients… once it was carrots. How hard is it to go to HyVee and buy 2# of carrots and shred them? The second issue is the lack of common sense of the help — I’ve watched them stop halfway thru making a salad and go brew a pot of iced tea(noone was waiting on the tea) — the person waiting for their salad stood there slightly dazed and confused at why the employee walked away. When she returned to resume making the salad, she didn’t bother to change her gloves — just kept on going. This place has great potential and i really hope to give it 5 stars in the future.

It was good. The small(green) version of the salad was ginormous. I did a build-your-own with avocado, grilled chicken, diced eggs, shredded cheese, and queso, with a midwestern chipotle dressing. They certainly don’t skimp on avocado! I love that in a restaurant. :) The girl let me try a couple different dressings before I decided on one.(They also have a chipotle cilantro dressing that was way good.) The only part of my meal that was disappointing was the queso… it was really boring. I guess I was expecting like along the lines of rotel-velveeta queso. This, however, was just white and bleh. The hubs has eaten here a ton and loves the fruit salad.

Luckily I found the gift card and so gave Mixed a couple more tries. One more update for Mixed has me pretty firmly settled on a three star average for their decent salads and less than par sandwiches and wraps. But as far as breakfast panini’s go, the A.M. Swiss didn’t fare much better. After eating this sandwich the only adjective I can really come up with is ‘sterile’. Though ‘soft’ is another good one. While the bread had grill marks… or are those indentations… it wasn’t toasty at all. The egg(patty) and swiss cheese(product) were on an equal playing field with the flaccid bacon. If you haven’t already suspected, I wasn’t a fan of this one either. It probably shouldn’t come as a surprise that both times I visited for breakfast I was the only customer in sight. For my final try, I went back for the salads… and these, at least, are worth note. I tried both the Carribean Crunch(with chicken, craisins, grapes, cucumber, granola and cinnamon sugar) and the Opah(green peppers, olives, feta cheese, tomato and black olives). Sadly, kalamata olives were not an option. But I was allowed to substitute chicken for the black olives… strangely. These salads were good, with fresh ingredients aplenty. After all, I don’t mind eating raw vegetables when they’re in a salad. It’s nice that you can choose your greens also — spinach, iceberg or spring mix. Decent salads, nice variety, fresh ingredients. And if you’re looking for a regular sized or GIANT salad, Mixed has you covered in that regard.

I love the concept of this place! The staff are very helpful and friendly. They even recognized me my third time there and got me a loyalty card. There are so many options on the menu but I usually just create my own salad. Their balsamic is great! Only con would be a little overpriced and I wish the chicken was made to order.

Food was fresh, healthy, and delicious. The staff is still learning but were friendly. The use of Eco-products and a plain, restaurant with green walls makes it unique.

Advice to the owners… speed up the line, lower the prices, and hire employees who are happy to be there and don’t wear flip flops to work, ick. Advice to customers… drive to the Golden Arches and order a Mcwrap with grilled chicken and ranch. Much cheaper, actually quite delicious, and fresh. This place needs a makeover and it just opened. Needless to say I won’t be back.

Mixed is not bad; it’s just kinda mediocre. The food on their menu looks good with a variety of salads, and wraps. However, the final product is lacking. As for what I ate, I had the cranberry turkey wrap. The one thing that gets me the most is the price. For what you get I wasn’t expecting it to be as pricey as it was. Two lunches(girlfriend and I) came out to $ 20. Could be a lot better.

I ordered the CAESARIZED and I knew the place was odd when it wanted to put black olives on a caesar salad. I know BLACK pepper and OLIVE oil are common caesar salad ingredients, but not black olives. But I digress. I tried the low fat caesar dressing and it was horrible. It tasted like a bland Italian dressing that I would get from a high school cafeteria — plus they put WAY too much on it. The salad was just ok and the ingredients seemed like just some things they picked up at the grocery store before opening that day. My dining partner ordered the Club Wrap and it was about the size of half of a hot dog. Small, very bland and not appetizing at all. Plus he said it was gummy in texture. It didn’t help that it was served on a white styrofoam hotdog«tray» that didn’t help the appearance. He also ordered the Chicken Wild Rice soup and it tasted ok(a touch better than canned) but it was such a small amount that he was still very hungry. In the end, we both thought that we could have made a much better salad at home and saved $ 21! Panera, Ingredient and Paradise are all much better for the same(or lower) price and they are more comfortable places to eat. We will NOT be back and urge you to not waste your time or money by even trying it. Eek!!!

I came here with 2 friends and myself. Jumping ahead, the process of eating here takes about 18min till you actually have your food. All of us got the ½ salad ½ soup. The half sandwiches had one thin slice of processed deli meat and a half slice of cheese and a minimal amount of toppings. While the girl was making the salads, if she thought that the 3 julienne slices of carrot was too much, she would take a sliver off. They stare at the menu constantly because they don’t know what goes on the sandwiches/salads. She even asked us over and over questions like«do you want cranberries?» Yes… That is what comes with the salad that I ordered… You will pay more for your meal here then you will at a sit down restaurant. Go to the grocery store and make one weeks worth of food for the price of one low quality meal here. Walmart makes better deli sandwiches.

I ordered the roast beef panini. Granted, this is supposed to be a salad place so perhaps this was a poor decision. But, if you’re going to have sandwiches on the menu, people are going to order them, so you should make them well. Or at least don’t make them poorly. The quality of the lunchmeat was marginal, and there was not much of it. There was also not much cheese — maybe one slice. The sandwich was prepared on a small piece of ciabatta bread, and was topped with a minimal amount of greenery, For this I paid about $ 8.50. I could have bought enough lunch meat, cheese, salad greens and bread to make panini sandwiches of this size at home for at least a week for what they charged for a tiny sandwich on flavorless, not particularly fresh bread. And, had I done so, I would not have had to eat my tiny sandwich in a venue which felt like a cafeteria. There is no atmosphere, no sense of warmth, nothing about the place that says«Hey, we’re proud of our new place and we’d love it if you’d come in and sit down with your friends and enjoy some lunch». It says«please eat quickly and get the heck out of here». On the plus side, the space is very clean and the employees are very friendly. However, since I didn’t go there to marvel at the sparkling cleanliness or chat with the staff, I was sorely disappointed. I won’t be back.

The food was good, although overpriced. The service was slow, understandably since the restaurant just opened in March. I will try it again, though.

I had the turkey panini and it was really delicious. The drawback: I stood in line for 10 minutes to get it. 10 minutes seems like an eternity when your trying to get your food and go back to work. The manager seemed liked the only one who was well versed in their product. Its a bit expensive but worth having a healthy option.

The Venue: Mixed is located in the strip mall and accompanies several other restaurants and small businesses in the 120th and Blondo area. The location is brand new, clean, contemporary, and minimalistic in design. The Service: When I stopped in this evening to grab a bite for dinner there were three folks manning the front counter, the manager(presumably the owner), and two other people that put the wrap that I ordered together. The restaurant is brand spanking new so as expected there were more than a few hiccups. The workers weren’t sure what to put in the wrap, they weren’t sure if they could add or remove things, they weren’t sure what to recommend to a first timer, etc. No worries though I’m sure they’ll get better with time. The employees were nice and helpful though so that was a plus. The Food: The food items offered are salads, wraps, paninis and some different soups. The place is billed as a big healthy salad place but the setup is similar to that of a Subway. So you order your wrap or salad or whatever and just tell them what you want in it as you move down the assembly line. I ordered a turkey, bacon, and swiss wrap which came with a breadstick and cup of water. The wrap was… Okay. The turkey is your average cubed/formed lunchmeat but the lettuce and other ingredients were okay. The Cost: A turkey, bacon, and swiss wrap with a small breadstick and cup of water will run $ 10.49 I’ll be honest, this really seemed steep considering what I got but hey I guess it keeps me healthy: p If I saw a friend eating this I’d have guestimated that it would have cost about six bucks. My friend ordered a Caribbean salad(the small size) and a cup of water, he paid $ 10.00 The Bottom Line: Either make your own salad/wraps at home or go to Jason’s Deli. I can get a really good bowl of soup, and an AWESOME salad bar(arguably one of the best in town) for less than ten bucks at Jason’s which IMO is a much, much, much better place as the Salad bar is easily twice as large with many, many more items and the cost is less. I’m all for new healthy alternatives to the average burger joint but this place is lacking, both on execution, quality ingredients and pricing.
