If you like Chicago deep dish pizza, this is the place in Omaha to get it. Great flavor, lots of cheese. Just be prepared to wait as it takes 40 minutes to cook, which is true for any legit Chicago deep dish.

I’ve been here three times and I think it’s a pretty good places to grab a drink and a pie. If you get the Chicago style you have to be prepared to wait about 40 mins. I recommend getting an appetizer for sure. We usually got for the bread sticks, which are nothing fancy, but get the job done. I also like their Moscow Mules. The service here is always friendly and they are sure to remind people about the wait times and offer more drinks. Last time we were here they also asked if people wanted refills right before the end of Happy Hour, which was nice. It seems to be a pretty family friendly place. There were several little ones running around and no one blinked. Next time I’m craving Chicago style pizza, I’ll be back.

Really good pizza, friendly staff and gluten free options! Cook time is a little longer than other pizza joints, but the meal is worth the wait.

First time visit after having Pizza Davolo bookmarked since they opened nearly two years ago. Independently owned and family-operated, with a desire to source local and organic ingredients(according to their website). The menu also features lots of gluten-free items, if you’re into that. And plenty of gluten-full items, if you’re not.(The warm garlic breadstick served with the Caesar salad was a winner). We drove«all the way» out here specifically for deep dish, so that’s where we went next. The restaurant is somewhat small, but very clean, with friendly and accommodating staff. Patrons were a nice mix of families and friends at 7pm on a Saturday night. Several TV’s flanked the dining room playing college football. Chicago Style«House» in a 12″ medium was our order: sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, onion, and red pepper. Worth noting that it was red pepper… Since red bell peppers generally cost double that of their green counterparts. So, props for that. And how was it? Ultimately very good. A nice substitute for«real» Chicago deep dish. Tangy sauce, flaky crust. Very appealing, and hit the spot nicely. Despite having a full bar, with seating, the tap beers are a bit limited. Only two more«craft» beers on tap. The menu includes a few decent imports in bottles as consolation, including both Peroni and Moretti.

I’ve had this place bookmarked since I moved here and I’m annoyed that it took me so long to drive when its truly not far from me. Davlo is a charmingly decorated comfortable place. the staff and owner are friendly and made my dining experience. I knew from reading it would take a half hour which I was told by the knowledgeable server. I decided to try the flying tomato in the meat lovers specialty and breadsticks for an appetizer. they have a full bar there and specially drinks including Moscow mules for you Mule lovers out there. there were several tvs turned to the games as well. the breadsticks were homemade and truly deliciousness cubed. the marinara a perfect balance. when the Flying tomato pizza which is a thicker crust than the thin but not as thick as the Chicago style. the flying tomato is thicker crust, sauce toppings and cheese and topped by tomato slices. the crust is AMAZING. so crispy and a gives the rest a delicious crispy base. excellent toppings and stringy lovely super cheesy goodness. I echo. great food great staff and patrons, comfortable place to relax and eat some good pizza. isn’t that what you are looking for?

Stopped in not knowing what to expect. We were greeted by one of the owners and he was extremely friendly. Our waitress was also very nice and pointed out some good things to try. We took her advice and got the chips and salsa app. The salsa and chips are both made there and they do not disappoint. We then had the Greek deep dish and it was awesome. This was some of the best deep dish that I have ever had and I have had a lot.

Our softball team came here to celebrate a victory. Ordered two pizzas, a pepperoni and the spicy Hawaiian. The atmosphere is pretty forgettable, nothing special but nothing offensive either. The pizza itself was only ok. I thought it should have been deeper. It was only about half as deep as I would have expected from a Chicago style deep dish. You want a deep dish to be overflowing with filling and I found this pizza to be lacking in the amount of toppings and cheese in it. The crust was a little on the dry side. I don’t live near the place so I probably will not be returning as it’s not worth the trip to me. If you live nearby it may be fruitful to check out. One nice thing they had was happy hour every weekday after 9pm. Our server neglected to tell us that we cannot split the cost of toppings on a non specialty pizza so that when our split checks came I was the unlucky sucker that got to pay for the pepperoni in the pizza. It wasn’t terrible, about the price of a beer, but I would have appreciated the information beforehand rather than just being added onto a random person’s bill and hoping it goes unnoticed. The server was good about credit card information though and asked the see the ID of one of my friends who had that written on his card as a fraud deterrent.

Great food; great staff! I’m a bit of a pizza hound and am so happy to find another location for Chicago style Pizza in the Metro. I would say this dining experience is better than Pudgy’s. I enjoy that they have full bar service as well. We were there on a hot summer evening and the house salad and Irish Mule I had were perfectly refreshing. The pizza is prepared with care and you can tell that they don’t use poor quality ingredients. The question I had before we went was could it be worth driving to 144th and Fort just to get pizza when there are so many places we will drive by to get there? For me, the answer was yes! Take the chance and go; I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

We were in the mood for pizza one night but didn’t want the same old, same old chain pizza. I am so glad we gave this place a chance! Somehow I was convinced that this place was pronounced Pizzeria Diavlo with a «I», however, despite my BF insisting that it I was wrong. He was right, I was wrong, so I paid for dinner. Our waitress was great and let us know up front that the pizza takes about 45 minutes to bake. Make sure you arrive with ample time if you’re super hungry. We were starving so we ordered some breadsticks as an appetizer. I probably wouldn’t order these again. One order only contains 4 smallish sticks and a bowl of marinara for 5 bucks. I like my breadsticks slathered in butter and garlic and that was nowhere to be found with these. On the other hand, the pizza was Delicious. Yes, delicious should be capitalized(and emphasized) since it was wonderful. They serve true Chicago style pizza with the sauce spread right on the top. The sauce was wonderful with tomato pieces and what I believe to be a hint of wine. Yum yum! I will definitely be back here time and time again for dine in and take out. We dined in or first visit and the service was wonderful. The waitress, though young, could have passed for a seasoned restaurant vet. It is nice to have a non-chain option our here in West O. Just a heads up, they are closed on Sundays.

I have been looking for a new pizza joint to switch things up a bit from my regular stops(Big Fred’s, Oscar’s, and recently added Piezons). A friend of mine recommended giving Pizzeria Davlo a shot. As far as the pizza goes, I was very impressed. It’s tough to find a well crafted Chicago style pizza around here, and this place serves a very good one(I will pass along my friends recommendation of the meat eater). I will mention that I was upset with the service. I’m not one to harp on servers, but if my experience at a restaurant is more memorable for the service than the food I think it is worth a mention. My friend and I had each just put our second pieces of pizza on our plates and had maybe got down a bite or two each when our server drops off a to-go box and our check completely unprompted. I understand pushing someone out the door is they are the last table and you are trying to close, but this was at 7:45 and we were not the last table in there. I was impressed with the pizza, but I will definitely think twice before a give them my business again. If I do I think I’ll try takeout.

The place has a nice atmosphere. They waitress that helped us was very nice and kept checking to make sure our drinks were not empty. My problem is the food just didn’t really impress me. The Chicken Strips appetizer was okay. The Chicago Style Veggie Pizza we ordered was also okay. The most impressive thing was the Maple Vinaigrette that I had on my salad.

Davlo is easily some of the best Chicago style deep dish pizza you’ll find outside of the Windy City itself. Since it’s deep dish you’ll have to wait on it a little longer, but that’s expected. We do take out a lot and it is great. I like the meat pizza. I also think Davlo is reasonably priced, which is nice because you don’t need much deep dish pizza to fill you up. I would be surprised if a deep dish pizza fan didn’t enjoy their time at Davlo. Brat

I ordered a medium Chicago style pizza to go. The pizza was good and the veggies were very fresh. We only ate half of it and refrigerated the rest for the next day. When we took it out the pizza liner was soggy and became glued to the bottom of the pizza. We were able to scrap some of it off and salvage a slice but it did not taste very good. If you’re planning on not eating the whole thing I would recommend getting a small.

I went back to Davlo to see how the thin crust stacks up against the deep dish. The result was that they also make a very good crisp thin crust. With so many pizza joints in this part of town, I will say that Davlo’s thin crust stood out with it’s butter crust, similar to what you would find on the deep dish. Next time, I will have to try the flying tomato.

Thank goodness! I can finally get a true Chicago Deep Dish pizza. I am from Chicago-born and raised. In the last 10 years I have moved around and can honestly say that real pizza is the thing I have missed most in other areas of the country. I sincerely dislike NY style pizza and Old Chicago is not real deep dish. This place is! We ordered take out and it was amazing! The sausage is tasty and the sauce was delicious! I feel like I tasted a hint of wine? Regardless, it was a tasty and complex sauce. The crust was spot on-exactly what it should be and the thick gooeyness of the pie did not disappoint! I am looking forward to satisfying my cravings regularly here!

I come from St Louis where Pi pizza sets a very high standard… However this place just falls short of expectations when they advertise Chicago style deep dish. I had a Caesar salad which was pretty good, the breadstick was a nice addition. Not too overpowering on dressing and it was a decent size. The pizza(we ordered the house) was«ok.» I didn’t dislike it, however I was disappointed to see the pool of water when the slice was lifted from the tray. The dough was undercooked as well, but the outside was crispy so it wasn’t like they sent it out knowing it was not done. Finally, the sauce should be the stand out mark on a Chicago deep dish I think… And it was mediocre at best. It was slightly bland, resembled canned sauce. Overall it was a decent meal but I will not be running back here. I’m sure there are other alternatives in Omaha.

Enjoyable deep-dish pizza at Davlo’s which we went to spur of the moment after another pizza place nearby was too crowded. Had a nice Tanqueray martini. Girlfriend had a special house cocktail I didn’t care for but she soldiered through. Breadsticks were good, not special, but ordering them was a necessity since the deep dish pizzas take 45 minutes. Our Z pizza, when it arrived, was delicious. Hard to think of it as pizza, it’s almost like a different dish. We finished three pieces out of eight and were stuffed. We will go back, either with a larger party or else with no dinner plans the next night so we can finish the leftovers.

The server I had here was excellent. I just want to say that off the start. The young woman was friendly(pleasant and genuine), made just enough small talk, gave me an expectation of time right from the start, refilled my drinks and did not make too many trips to the table in my hour plus stay. The atmosphere is alright. It’s a strip mall and West Omaha and you can only do so much with that. Nice and cool with a few TV’s turned onto the College World Series and World Cup(no loud sports bar noise or atmosphere). Pizza came and looked good. Well constructed, savory sauce, good toppings, and good cheese. The crust though was very bland to me. Chicago Style pizza has a lot of thick crust and it’s the part I enjoy the most. It didn’t ruin the pizza or anything it just didn’t put it over the top for me like I find at the one other place that serves it here in Omaha. If me and some friends were in the area-I would certainly try Davlo again or maybe even try a pasta or other item. I think they have their sauce down. Overall a pretty good experience.

I can only speak for the gluten free pizza because this is the only one I have tried here so far. It was by far the best gluten free pizza I have had here in Omaha, hands down! Toppings and cheese were plentiful: absolutely no complaints here! Atmosphere was quite quaint, more upscale than«joint-like». Prices were definitely fair. They also carry their same baked pasta selection in the gluten-free variety, a quinoa salad, and a gluten free kid’s option. They have a full bar with a few larger TVs playing NCAA. My friend got the chicago deep dish. She said it was fabulous and flakey. It looked liked the traditional chicago deep dish: pie crust and all, minus the corn meal you sometimes get in chicago. I will be running, not walking, back to this place! Great addition to NW Omaha! If you like chicago deep dish or have gluten free requirements, you should seriously consider a stop here.

I am so fortunate to have this wonderful pizza place so close to my home! The Chicago style pizza was very delicious! I orders the German style and it was cry unique. Next time I will try the traditional pizza. I got take out so I can’t judge service, but the interior was well decorated. Prices were reasonable and they also offer gluten free crust. This is a hidden gem, and I will spread the word so it doesn’t remain a secret! I can’t wait to go back!
