It’s a cool place that fits in with the Aksarben Village vibe, but the food isn’t overly fantastic. The prices are high($ 3−5/taco) and the taco size is not overly filling. On the other hand, the nachos are enough for two people and there are a number of sauce options to pick from which are from a local company(the Aleppo is a slightly sweet, slightly hot sauce that I highly recommend). There is a «taco of the month» as well, but again, the cost/size ratio is the issue.

Had high hopes when it originally opened but alas all was ruined when I actually tried these over hyped tacos. Pork rib taco tasted like it was made in microwave, chicken was tough as was alligator. Only think decent was the chips but hell who could mess those up??? For the size of the tacos and the 6 $ price, I think I’ll go somewhere where I can get a quality taco or Ramona’s giant taco for the same price… Don’t be fooled it isn’t quality food just playing to the masses who are looking for a ‘cool’ logo.

I love the veggie bowl and fried avocados here! Habanero lightning and dona satiate my spice cravings. The service is good

The food was great, however… We walked into a cool atmosphere and excited to try the tacos. The first thing I notice is a man in a black hoodie glaring and shaking his head in disbelief at me and my brother. I immediately think that he knew us or my kid had done something wrong. I take a second to reassess the situation and not jump to conclusions. He looks away long enough to cuss loud enough for us to hear 30ft away and he stops looks back again and says«you have to be kidding me»??? I seriously thought this guy wanted to fight us. So I ignore it and look at the menu and I keep see him looking at us from the kitchen. Then it hit me THISGUYISTHEMANAGERFORTHEDAY! There were only 2 other people in front of us and it was lunch time. I asked the lady behind the counter why he was so mad and she said she didn’t know why and she was really sorry. Everyone there was working hard and polite and you could tell he was being evil and making working there a living hell. I would go back there but if I see him I would walk right back out. That guy does not deserve to hold a position of authority and should not be in customer service. I know we are not the first person to of seen him be crazy and this cool joint is going to lose lots of good business if they keep him there. 4 or 5 stars for food. 1 star for experience.

Came here for dinner the other night and I was kind of surprised at the high bill. We had four tacos and one happy-hour drink and the total was $ 33. Not really expensive for dinner, but more than your average taco joint. The shredded beef tacos were my favorite.

Sorry, but I don’t see why people are all hyped out about this place. 4 bucks for ONE taco? No thanks. I went out with friends and just got one taco because that’s ridiculous on the price, the one taco I ordered was a little cold, and had more toppings than the meat. The sauce wasn’t spicey either. It was really disappointing because they said the barbacoa was the most popular one on the menu. I will go else where for tacos that aren’t expensive, and that are better tasting.

Had a good experience at voodoo taco. The queso had a pleasant variety of flavors. The breakfast taco with brisket was robust, and a good deal at $ 2.45ish. The alligator taco was a clever idea, but didn’t overwhelm past the unique name. I chose the Aleppo sauce, which had a tangy sweetness to it. Not super hot. I asked if Aleppo was referring to the ancient Syrian city, and the cashier said it did in fact come a rare Syrian pepper. I’ll probably come back.

These are some good tacos. I’ve been in a few times in the last six weeks, the last three visits all coming from cravings… So that lets me know these guys are doing a lot of things right. I’ve had the Carnitas, Fish and Baja Shrimp tacos and have been really happy with all three. Probably won’t get the Baja Shrimp tacos because the batter/breading is a bit too hard and crunchy for me – would love it if it was more of a tempura batter than what it is now. Fish tacos, though? Although a touch pricey at $ 4.25 each(I think that’s right), they were really good. Freshly fried, tender, flaky fish. Add some Chipotle Ranch sauce? You’ve got a winner. But I like to stick with my old favorite: carnitas. Easy on the onions, no cilantro. Chipotle Ranch and sometimes the mildest sauce(I’m forgetting the name — tomato something). The queso on here is PERFECT, the light cabbage/lettuce is good and crunchy, the onions are tangy and acidic. It’s just a good taco. Pricey? Yeah, that’s probably my big sticking point. Can’t get out of there for much less than $ 7 if you get one taco and a drink and one taco when they’re good like these just ain’t enough. I do like that it’s counter service, and the location is great, and I especially love that I can sit at the bar thingy that lines the windows looking out into Aksarben Village. Looking forward to trying some different tacos, but for now I’ll stick with carnitas and a Cherry Coke. Tasty.

I walked into the VOODOTACO restaurant @3:15pm on a tuesday afternoon. There was a couple leaving… There were 3 people at the bar. Guest? Or employees? Who’s to say? There conversation must have been pretty serious… Too serious to acknowledge a hot, hungry PAYINGCUSTOMER NEVERGOINGBACK! NOTHINGSUCKSWORSETHANBADSERVICE!

So I’ve been here twice and both times this place didn’t know how to handle a lunch crowd at all. The people are very friendly and the food is great but they probably need to hire a few more people during lunch. The pork tacos are amazing and usually there specials are great.

One thing I dislike is places that advertise a range of spiciness(is that a word?) that shows their sauces getting progressively hotter until they reach«volcano», «inferno», etc. But, when you actually try them, they all taste pretty much the same. That’s not the case here. I ordered the steak fajita bowl and asked for the habenero lightning sauce, which was toward the far end of the«hot» spectrum on their menu. WOW. That stuff really kicked a$$. I was really glad I sprinkled it sparingly on my food because it packs a punch. They were not kidding when they said it was hot. This a great place for a quick lunch.

This review is for the Aksarben location. Service was top notch, for real, the guys(I wish that I could remember his name to give him proper credit… but I do remember that it was his birthday) was super cool and so nice. The food: never fails to impress. I love this location and the people who work there.

This place is absolutely awesome ! Came here for a quick lunch while attending a training session down the street. I’d love to have one of these back home in Va. I got the steak fajita soft taco and the fried avacodo taco. Both were Bangin!!!

Great gourmet taco restaurant with cool ambiance and an alcohol license! This location is new and is well decorated and clean. I absolutely love the pork carnitas taco and I paid it with the Doña sauce(you get to pick your sauce out of a handful of options). The reason I gave four stars instead of five is because I haven’t really enjoyed the other tacos I’ve tried besides pork carnitas. I’m not sure if that’s a reflection of the quality of the taco or if they’re just not really my style so I’d still suggest trying what sounds good to you. The only other complaint is with the margaritas. I’ve tried them twice now because it seems like that’s one of their specialties(I think they do a margarita Monday?) and just really haven’t enjoyed them, very very sweet. If you’re in the aksarben area this is one of the best restaurants in the area so far in my opinion!

This is where tacos go to prom… they get all fancy up in here! I must preface that I’m most definitely a traditionalist so I am most likely not their target audience. I would prefer my tacos from a sketch cart at 2am in South O… straight basics. Back to Voodoo… love the name, the décor and there is one older gentlemen that works there(don’t know his name YET), who makes the experience hands down 10 stars… LOVEHIM!!! The décor is very industrial and cool. I like to sit in the back on the purple chairs, makes me feel all fancy or like I’m in a vampire lounge. I should’ve also prefaced that I’m also a nacho connoisseur, so when I saw that you can make any taco combination into nachos for $ 4 more, I was in voodoo heaven surrounded by crispy chips. Thus far, I’ve had the barbacoa, brisket and carnitas taco combos made into nachos. Yes, I’ve been there 3x in the not so distant past… don’t judge. They were all delicious in their own right but maybe too over the top for my love of plain basics. Will I be back, hell yeah, plus I need to find out that gentleman’s name… he’s that AWESOME!

Cleanliness 4 Service 4 Food Quality 4 Likelihood 4 1 – 5(5 Best!) 4.0 I sure did think I left a review for my last visit. I see that I did not. THIS is flavorful food. THE dining room is made with supplies from deconstructed buildings and homes in Omaha, HOWCOOL! The service s awesome. And the place is clean. I am a happy customer! More topping choices than you can imagine, all tasty. My friend tried alligator(mmm not my favorite.) Support a local restaurant, have fun, and experience great tasting food.

Came across voodoo taco in a «sorry I’m hangry» moment and stopped to fix my bad mood from lack of food. The menu is different but I am pleasantly surprised by how good everything was. You can turn any taco on the item into an order of nachos! Which is exactly what I did and it was amazing. I had the fried chicken nachos. Yes fried chicken… BOMB! All of the staff is extremely friendly and so helpful! I will definitely be back here to try something else out!

I really wanted to like this place and was excited that they opened a store on this side of Omaha. The cashier was very friendly and very enthusiastic which is always nice to see. The store was very clean which is always a plus, but the food was lacking that spark. We ordered chips and salsa, cheese and rice, and 2 fish and chips tacos. We started off small because we were gonna order more after. We received the chips and salsa pretty fast, but everything else took about 15+ minutes. For two tacos and some rice, that’s a little unreasonable. When we started to eat, we realized the tacos were spicy. It wasn’t noted on the menu or identified as a spicy item. Not a problem for me, but my friend isn’t a spicy person so it was an unpleasant experience for her. We might return to try other items, but I don’t see myself visiting for awhile.

I waited for a few weeks before trying this Voodoo place out, until they caught up with all their opening day mess-ups. I was at their 90th St location its first week and was very unimpressed with the place, so I came here expecting the worst of it. This one has a great location, and upon arriving(even though I had seen the blueprints months ago) I was very impressed with their layout, even though it appeared smaller than I was expecting. You are streamlined right to the ordering station(which probably needed on more register), and even though there is a large menu overhead, you need the hard copy to really make your decisions. As I wrote, I have already tried their 90th St. location and their 2.5 Food Truck, so I was looking for something a little different, and saw on their Facebook page that the Taco of the Month was the Marley(Jamaican Jerk Chicken, Cilantro, Cotija Cheese, Jalapenos, and to top it off Grilled Mango) That was a piece of Taco Mastery! I could have used just a little more Mango and a little less Jalapenos, but that is Voodoo… I also tried their Barbacoa Beef(shredded beef, bbq sauce, Cajun fried onions, Cotija cheese and Cilantro), though I received mostly the beef and bbq sauce. it was good, but needs a little tweeking, or maybe I didn’t get the whole enchilada(sorry). I also wanted to try their side of rice and beans, I was shown a larger than I received(a circular bowl instead of the larger rectangular one shown to me at the counter), and had to get a Deschutes to wash everything down(did I mention they have some really good beers on tap?) I wholly expected to wait 10 to 20 minutes for my order, and even though there was a nice crowd this Saturday afternoon, I received mine in about 5 minutes. I sat at the window seats watching traffic go by Stinson Park and construction happening at the new UNO Arena, instead of choosing a booth or several open tables near the entrance. For two tacos, rice & beans, and a beer, my order totaled $ 18 which wasn’t too bad… I will be back though, I will watch their Facebook page to see what their Tacos of the Months are… and their new beers on tap!
