Every now and then, we try Zios because«it’s a hometown favorite», but each time we’re disappointed. The hamburger pizza was blah, dough tasted like flour. The chicken pesto didn’t have anything that actually looked like pesto… just chicken, cheese, and some red onions. The pepperoni was the«best», but my assumption is that it’s because seasonings come already in the pepperoni, so they couldn’t mess that up. Sorry for being harsh, I just don’t understand why they don’t make better pizza.

Probably one of the better places to get pizza in Omaha. I’ve visited the old market and midtown locations. Lunch special is amazing, as it includes a huge slice of pizza, a drink and a side salad for about 6 – 7 bucks(depending on how many toppings, and which combo you choose as there are a few options). Service can be kind of hit and miss, meaning one day you have speedy service and the next it can be slow as all get out. Either way, very good!

Avid Zio’s fan but terrible service at this particular location. Wasn’t acknowledged and walked out because nobody would help us. Won’t be returning to this location.

Awesome atmosphere downtown, with incredibly friendly and quick staff. Our server was extremely attentive and helpful in navigating the expansive menu. The Extra Large Pizza was enough to feed a small army and was pretty good. The ingredients were fresh — would have a liked a little more kick. However, the three cheese bread was awesome.

Zios is a local staple for us. They have excellent lunch specials, and the pizza is consistently great. Stop in the next time you crave pizza. You won’t be disappointed.

Quick service. Two toppings: Italian sausage and black olives. Sausage was grainy with little flavor. Black olives were too scare to evaluate. From the TV ads I expected a NYC pie. But it had quite thick bread. More like Chicago. Great thing about Omaha: many choices.

Not from Omaha, and wanted to try something new. The host and server were friendly, and the atmosphere was fun. We ordered the chicken and feta pizza-Delicious! Next time we’re in Omaha, we’ll definitely be back!

In from out of town and wanted a pizza to take back to the hotel. It was fantastic. I ordered a custom 4 topping pizza and it was one of the best that I have ever had. I also had some toasted ravioli — it was average. The employee at the counter that helped me was as friendly and helpful as she could be.

Right in the heart of the Old Market. This is a winner! We loved that you could order by the slice… and they are BIG slices! I had the THAI, can I get a hell ya?! Great crust, great flavors! Next time I am in Omaha this will be a for sure stop once again.

Horrible service and just okay pizza. I got the BBQ Chicken pizza carry out, I was there 5 minutes before it was supposed to be ready and when they handed it to me it was barely warm. Not to mention I wasn’t greeted and the gentleman that rang me up didn’t even acknowledge me. Would not recommend, there are plenty other pizza places in town.

This was some of my favorite pizza that I have ever eaten, and that includes time spent in Italy! I had the Margherite Pizza and it was absolutely delicious. The ingredients tasted fresh and the crust was warm and crispy. I ordered two slices but one might have been enough — they are HUGE! They also have an amazing Oreo dessert which is perfect for an Oreo lover like me. If I am ever back in Omaha, I will definitely be visiting Zio’s again.

Had dinner here this past Saturday night. Let’s get to the key point first. This is NOT New York style pizza. It is thicker than NY style pizza; it is more like what a chain would call«hand-tossed». Nevertheless the crust is decent — it has a nice crispness to it, but taste is just so-so. Went with a two slices; one was the«margherite»(their spelling on the receipt) which was just tomato, basil and mozzarella for $ 3.55. The other was Thai Chicken and mushrooms($ 2.65 plus 31 cent up-charge for chicken). Thai Chicken had a little kick and was nice size chunks of chicken. Nice that you can order by the slice any time of day and with any toppings. Companion enjoyed the Zucchini Supreme slices and an iced tea($ 1.69). Ordered garlic bread $ 1.75 as an appetizer. Would not bother to get again. Had Central Park Salad which was mixed greens, artichokes, cherry tomatoes(not Roma as per the menu), and sunflower seeds for $ 3.10. Good. Overall average pizza and average place.

You know, as far as New York pizza in Omaha goes, Zio’s ranks up near the top of my list. Their location on 78th and Dodge is casual and cozy with no frills service that’s fast and friendly, but not overbearing. As of late, I’ve been hitting up Zio’s for their lunch specials where you can either get two slices or a slice and a salad(plus drink) for around $ 6. Good food for a reasonable price. My longtime favorite slice is piled with artichoke hearts and sun-dried tomato bits. The spinach/tomato combo is good as well. Their meatier slices tend to settle a little on the heavy side with me though. While their salads have improved over the years, it wouldn’t hurt Zio’s to lay off the ice burg lettuce a bit and add in more fresh veggies. But hey, we come here for the pizza, right?

Got there at around 1PM on a fairly busy day. The hostess had a pretty crummy attitude. I was a waiter for 6 years so I know the exhausted feeling of being at the end of a long shift, but you can’t take it out on the guests. 15 minutes after we were seated we were still waiting for a waiter to stop by. I ended up going up to the front counter; apparently the waitstaff hadn’t noticed we’d been sat, even though the host sat us. This isn’t a big restaurant. The food itself(a Pep pizza) literally had pools of grease floating on top of the cheese. I’ve been to Zios before at other locations and this isn’t how it’s supposed to be – their pizzas are usually pretty incredible. Zios is a place capable of making great pizza and having good service, but apparently not at this location on this day.

So far, this is the best pizza I’ve had in Omaha. The service has always been good, too. Even when they’re busy, we’ve always had good, fast service. My wife and I are a big fan of the bacon and mushroom pizza. It’s pretty affordable too, comparing the quality you get to the price vs other pizza places.

My favorite pizza place in the good ol’ Omaha. Quick service and pizzas are served fresh, hot and fast(that sounded like a slogan for a pizza chain) and relatively cheap. They use fresh ingredients and the crust thin, crunchy and light. I wouldn’t compare it with New York pizza but it’s close enough. We always get pizza with everything on it. Next time I go back to Omaha, I’m trying the Thai pizza… sounds intriguing.

Mediocre with a side of too much vinegar. After eating their Buffalo Wings, I coughed because of the high acidity not because of the spice(there was little heat). Moving on, the nice part about Zio’s is that they make pizza by the slice as you order. My only issue was that I wasn’t excited about any of the options they had available — I ended up getting the Zucchini Supreme and The Grand Finale. I would have liked if their crust was a bit thicker and if there were more zucchini on the Zucchini Supreme and more tomatoes on the Grand Finale.
