Stash’s Onset Beach

Horrible customer service. Will never go back. Owner very rude! Not worth the hassle. Try being nicer to your guests next time.

Delightful lunch outside overlooking Onset beach, enjoyed excellent clam roll (with small crispy clams in nicely grilled roll), light batter onion rings, lobster roll, cole slaw… all good. So glad we stopped by.

The location is great, and the view and atmosphere are quite spectacular. They have a wide menu of all different types of food, which makes it a nice place for a group where everyone can get something they like. The food quality is okay, but it’s nothing too special or worth returning to.

Nice place by the beach. It’s a casual dinning. I had the captain stash (that comes with all seafood, fries and salad. They excellent beer cape code red! Service is fast and there is place to sit outside by the beach.

Food was just ok but staff was awful. We went in after a day at the beach and the girls at the counter were RUDE! We ordered two bottled waters and got two plastic cups of water with kids meals. We asked for the kids waters first and when our food came out we realized we didn’t get our bottled waters. When my friend went in they asked for our receipt and the girl at the counter told the other worker we already got them. After my friend walked back outside one of the workers walked out and looked at our table and went back inside. I’m sorry but I just bought $ 70 worth of food and you really think we lied to you about two bottles of water? Also one of the meals took longer than the other and that’s the only reason we didn’t realize until a few minutes we didn’t get the waters. I thought my friend got them with the first tray she brought out and I waited for the second one. Food was alright but nothing I’d go back for. It’s a convenient location but not worth the rude service.

We knew we needed to stop here for some fried whole bellied clams and lobster roll even before we found a parking space for the beach. Two hours later, a bunch of us piled in and shared the HUGE Captain Stash’s combo and the King sized lobster roll.
Heed my advice — order the seafood combo and nothing else. It’s enough to feed a family of four and the seafood was so fresh and tasty! The lobster roll was prepared nice and light with very little mayo but I’d pass on that if I were to visit again.
All in all, it hit the spot. Definitely a must have if you’re visiting the beach.

This place is fantastic, a must try if in the area. This place has a prime location on the water, with wonderful parking. The menu is displayed on TVs, with clear quality, adding to the brightness of the restaurant. They do have outdoor seating, so make sure to take advantage of that. We only had ice cream, but the pizzas looked amazing, the sandwiches were large, and the have a mixture of everything on their menu. Their ice cream is Gifford’s I believe, but the prices are very cheap, cheaper than 95% of places on the Cape (although this isn’t really the Cape, but for ease, I will say it is.) The ice cream was fantastic. Try blueberry and s’mores. Prices are cheap for the whole menu, décor is modern and location is primal, service is experienced, and food is sure to please.

Went with 13 people mix of kids and adults. Sat outside which was great overlooking the onset harbor. Fish and Chips were great as well as calazone and calamari, which had fried hot peppers overall great food and location

Ate here after coming off a canal cruise with the family. It was fine, nothing special, nothing terrible. Te outside eating area was nice, but it was chilly so we sat inside. Fish and chips were fine, though the breading was flavorless. On the other hand, lobster roll was overseasoned and overmixed. service was quick and friendly.

Just tried a pizza after going in for ice cream earlier, Perfect! Most pizza around here has fallen off in quality and consistency. Glad I stopped in. Service is great too! Friendly and attentive. Keep it up and I’ll keep coming back!

The staff is rude! I have had frozen pizza that tastes better than there’s. Have been twice and both times wanted to order the chicken kabob, but they were out ov them. How hard is it to put a few pieces of chicken on a stick. The view is the only thing this place has going for it

Was excited to see this place come to town, they did an incredible remodel. That’s about as good as it gets though. Unfortunately the food is subpar at best. Ordered fish and chips, seemed frozen with heavy breading and greasy. Pizza was just ok, though had an after taste and loaded with salt (Marc Anthony’s down the street is the better option). I did try to give this review on their facebook page and they deleted it (after they used a few choice words) then they blocked me, One will assume that they block anyone that gives them a bad review therefore, don’t believe the 4.5 star rating on their facebook page. Sad that businesses are not willing to listen to customers which is the reason I won’t go back also because the food can use some work.

It is wicked crazy how delightful the pizza is here. Our group of nine devoured all different kinds of pizza and no one had any complaints… until it was gone, of course. We also tried the pastas while we were in town and the lasagna was great… but I would be remiss if I didn’t tell you the portions are comically large.
We sat outdoors and it had a great view of Onset Bay and the pier.

Good food, great views, nice counter girls. This is a good choice if you want a wide variety (pizza, subs, seafood, snacks) in a casual atmosphere. There is very limited seating inside and a deck outside. They also do a brisk business in take-​out and I would guess their delivery is popular too.
We had the chicken bacon ranch sub and 2-​item combo (clams and shrimp). Sub was way bigger than I thought (and she described!). Chopped, grilled chicken with bacon and some lettuce and ranch dressing. Good if not spectacular. The seafood was quite good. We also opted for their onion rings. These were the standout! I’m super picky about onion rings and these babies were close to perfect. Substantial crisp crust with a nice peppery zip. yum! We for some reason got the large basket and had a huge amount to take home. I think they’ll heat up just dandy in the oven tonight :-)
Oh, we parked in the adjacent city lot (it was $ 4.50 for 2 hours — more than enough time). Parking on the street was non-​existent due to a summer concert.

Horrible experience here. I ate there about 5 or 6 times with no problem. The last time I ate there, I found bugs under the cheese in my pizza !!! I told the supervisor/​manager and she laughed and said it was hard to keep them out of the building!!! They made no effort to give us a refund or even an apology!!! Never again!!!

Earlier in the week, Mom and I had taken a drive through the beautiful Onset area of Wareham. A friend of my late father (hi Brian!) lives in the area and we’re totally jealous. Who wouldn’t want to live in a beautiful home by the beach? Especially when places like Stash’s are only a stone’s throw away.
Stash’s Onset Beach is an adorable beachside snack bar type restaurant that serves everything you could possibly want while overlooking Onset Beach. There is a large outdoor deck and minimal seating inside. All the outdoor tables were topped with sun-​shielding umbrellas and the restaurant itself is the kind of order-​at-​the-​counter-​and-​wait-​for-​your-​number-​to-​be-​called kind of place. We loved it already.
Mom had been scoping out the online menu so we pretty much knew what we were going to get. We ordered a basket containing a foot long hotdog complete with fries ($ 5.49). Mom was very concerned that the bun was not going to be as «foot long» as the hot dog, but they were the same size. We also ordered a small meatball and ricotta pizza ($ 11.99) and two small Diet Pepsis ($ 3.58). Our total came to $ 22.53. Our number was 42 and we took a seat on the deck to wait for our food.
Since Mom is a vampire, she’s unable to sit in direct sunlight. However, we found a nice shaded area to lounge and take in the sights and smells of the beach. We hadn’t been waiting long when they called our number. We decided to take our eating party inside so the food didn’t cool off from the breeze.
The hot dog was indeed a foot long and was thick and meaty and had a nice smoky flavor. The bun was grilled and buttered and the fries were fantastic. Mom had just complained about the downhill of fries the other day, but Stash’s fries brought back her love. They were hot, crisp, salty and firm. She’s so used to getting an order of limp, luke warm, flavorless fries, so needless to say she was very happy.
The pizza was excellent! We weren’t expecting it to be as good as it was, but the taste was delicious. The soft ricotta was very fresh and the sliced meatballs were quite tasty. The pizza itself had a great crust and the sauce and cheese were perfect. We took a few slices home along with some fries, which later came to work with me for lunch. We really enjoyed everything.
If you think Stash’s is the kind of place that’s just popular because of the location, think again. The food was actually very good and the prices and portions were appropriate. On a side note, Brian and his girlfriend recently dined at Stash’s and said that his meal was great. We will definitely be back.

Today was a marvelous grilled chicken sandwich done much like a steak on the sun style sandwich loaf, but really quite grand on its taste. The green peppers and onions were perfectly done up and the level of toasting on the roll was just perfect. It was a superb sandwich just done so well.

excellent food, very clean place, very friendly people, usually deal direct with the owners… seafood is verty fresh, fried in «clean» oil, (ya can tell), the batter is light, portion size is perfect, I am still exploring the menu, but of all the things I tried, it was all exceptional! this is not a «greasy spoon», quality ingredients!!! so, if your gonna order from a counter and go sit yourself down by the water, this place is the place to be

Better places in Onset/​Wareham to eat.

I really really really LOVE Stash :). It checks every box for me — easy free parking, beachfront with a sparkly water view, clean and comfortable, great affordable fast food and really nice staff. Their onion rings are heavenly. The fish and chips are delicious. And their pizza… there’s something really magical about it… it has the most perfect chewy charred crust and huge foldable slices. There’s something for every member of the family on their menu. We always have enough food to share and have some leftovers. Thank you Stash :)
