We were at this hotel for a seminar. All day seminar. We did have an hour lunch. Instead of wasting time going out looking for a location, we decided to stay here and enjoy a nice meal. There was 5 of us in our group. We all got our own receipt.(per our request) 1st of all, there was no wait to be seated. But once we ordered the food, there was a very long wait to get our food. The prices was not so bad, considering that we were at a «hotel restaurant». BUT, $ 16.50 for mac and cheese meal is ridiculous! I thought that was absurd! Other then that complain, the portions were big and food was tasty.

Even free, it was a disaster: slow service, undercooked and/or stale food. I had breakfast here yesterday, admittedly in a bit of a rush, but the place was empty. It was before 8AM on a Sunday, so we had to order off the menu, but we had $ 14/person free credits that came with our stay at the Doubletree. Given their pricing($ 9 – 12), the coupons completely covered the cost of the meal. First, the service. It inexplicably took forever — maybe 20 minutes from ordering to getting a fruit plate, poached eggs, and french toast — in an empty restaurant with about 5 servers for 5 tables. In the end, despite asking and waiting another 5 – 7 minutes, we never even got the check, but were told as I walked slowly out to leave(my passive aggressive way of saying I want the check NOW), that it the meal was covered by our coupons. Next, the food. I had poached eggs and corned beef hash. The hash was good but the eggs were disgusting, way undercooked and served on the side in a little bowl full of uncooked egg white. Even after trying to scoop only the cooked portion onto my plate, plenty of clear, uncooked white came along for the ride. Had I not been in a rush, I would have sent it back. The fruit plate my wife ordered was a very nice portion size, but clearly had been cut and wrapped in plastic and stuck in the fridge 2 or 3 days before it was served. The watermelon was splotchy. The honeydew was also splotchy and translucent. The pineapple was turning brown on all the edges. It clearly should never had been served and frankly, had we not been in a rush, we would have sent it back. She ended up not eating.(Sadly, by the way, the next person who ordered a fruit plate seemed to get a very nice, fresh one, as we watched it go by from the ktichen to her table. Maybe she’ll write a good review.) The coffee served to us was lukewarm, but the french toast was … alas … pretty good. Even at free, I’m not sure I’d come here. And I’d never come in a rush, because you need to be ready deal with slow service and the need to send food back. Frankly, the only thing I was happy about was not getting sick after I ate here.

We were pleasantly surprised by this place. My wife and I had a coupon from one of those coupon books, and decided to check it out. The atmosphere is kind of weird, it’s kind of tucked off a hallway separated from the main thoroughfare by a small wrought-iron fence. Next door, there’s a steak house, and what could only be described as a cougar bar. If I were to go again, I’d probably ask to sit further into the restaurant, as it would’ve had less of a hotel-feel. We weren’t expecting a whole ton. My wife ordered a blue cheese burger, with onion rings, and I had a mushroom pasta with french fries. Although the onion rings were average, the burger was very solid. The mushroom pasta, however was fantastic. Very, very, good, very satisfying and the fries were decent too. Overall, this little spot is recommended, especially if you happen to be staying at the hotel and looking to grab a solid meal, but this would be a good local as well.
