This place is a big FAIL! Brought car in because heard a grinding noise coming fron the rear brakes/axle…they were unable to remove one of the drums but checked the other and they could not see anything wrong and that«we should be fine driving it» Couple days later one of the rear wheels broke completely off!!! Luckily this was at a very low speed on a residential and not on the freeway or something! My daughter could have been killed! Anyhow the problem was a broken wheel bearing which they should have caught when they did inspection(was wheel they were able to chk by removing drum) And further more… i spoke to a real mechanic and he said they should have never told us «we should be fine driving it» if they werent able to inspect 100% I will never do business with pepboys again!!! I wouldnt even trust them putting air in my tires!!! ADDED3/6/16…decided to give these idiots a chance to redeem themselves… another FAIL!!! Made Appt for sevice today at 2pm… get there only so I can get told«sorry, we’re short on Techs today»…REALLY??? you couldve at least sent or called me with a courtesy saying you are unavailable to chk my car!!! But NO, i drove all the way to your sorry ass establishment only to be turned around!!!

On Saturday, May 4, 2013, I had a blow-out on my vehicle that I was driving(on the freeway). AAA came and put a spare tire on. However, the spare tire would not hold any air. I was one exit away from Pepboys on 2415 S Vineyard Ave Ontario, CA91761(909) 947‑6889. I entered Pepboys at 7:05pm the store was closing at 8:00pm. There was one vehicle being worked on in the bay. I asked the sales associate Joel if I could purchase a new tire. He went out and asked someone if they had time to put on a new tire. The person in the bay said, no. I explained to Joel that I was on a flat and 45 miles away from my home and there was no way I could make it to my destination. Joel then informed me that I could drive to the Chino location. This was 5.1 miles away. He called and asked if they could help me and they informed him that they could. However, I continued to explain to Joel that I was on a flat with my elderly mother and a baby. I did not feel I could make it to the Chino location. He then informed me that he could not help me. As I was leaving the Ontario Pepboys I observed 2 men in the bay, one was working on a car and the other was just standing around. Where was the costumer service that Pepboys pride themselves on? I prayed all the way to the Chino location on a flat and Rosanna Cruz assisted me. She was very kind and understanding. If it had not have been for the excellent service I received at the Chino location I would never patronize another Pepboys. I will be publishing this experience with Unilocal and other social networking internet sites. I pray that Joel mother never runs into an associate like him where he does not care about the customer and is willing to leave a family helpless.
