This restaurant is closed. I spent some time looking for this place. I called Red Chilli Restaurant and they confirmed.

If your a fan of the red chili house, you’ll love this place as it’s the same owner. The menu is rather large and very authentic. The fried tofu with vegetables in red chili sauce is my favorite.

Decided to try out this newly open Chinese place. It was big, high ceilings, clean, one TV turned on, and VIP rooms with closed doors. Not exactly the ambiance you’d expect for a Chinese place, but oh well. Food was better than expected. Mapu tofu was nice and spicy with decent flavor. Fish in black bean sauce was savory and not too salty. It’s decent but not great. I’d return but Hooters is right there… so maybe I’d rather go to Hooters.

I gave them a second chance and their food wasn’t great again, especially the lo mien(soft) noodles. The wait time for the food is fast, but that’s the only slightly good thing. I won’t return here since there’s many better places.

It’s Two Star Tuesday again!!! Phoenix is newly opened, and was recommended by my Taiwanese co-worker. It is located in the same lot as Hooters on Milliken & Inland Empire, across the street from Ontario Mills Mall. I heard Phoenix has the same owner as Red Chili House in the 99 Ranch Plaza in RC. Lunch specials include soups @ $ 6.99, basic entrees @ $ 7.99, and fancier entrees @ $ 8.99. For dinner, Phoenix has a full menu w/some high prices in my mind. I ordered something basic like chicken w/onions($ 7.99). Lunch comes w/soup and eggroll. Unfortunately, the soup was pretty bad. It didn’t have any meat, and I could make a better version from Martin Yan’s cookbook: 2 Stars. Secondarily, the eggroll was equally bad. It was small, all veggies, and wasn’t hot inside: 2 Stars. Despite the foregoing, the chicken was OK. There was a fair amount of meat, but way too many green onions: 3 Stars. The ambiance is actually kinda nice. The restaurant is spacious and bright: 4 Stars. However, the service was mixed. The waiter was OK, but the bill came in an Amex holder. But they don’t take Amex, and there is a $ 20 min! The min wasn’t posted anywhere!!!: 2 Stars. I will def not be coming back here to have mediocre Azn food in a sea of mediocre & bad Azn places in the IE. I recommend you go elsewhere after you shop at Ontario Mills. BTW, after dinner you can have Dseesrt(spelling in menu), if you want more mediocre food!

Best legit Chinese food I can find in the IE area that’s close to my work and the Ontario Mills area! If you love Panda Express and worship that junk as authentic Chinese food, then you need to GTFO. ^___^V

Brought to you by the same owners from chili house in RC. The food is slightly more expensive and there are no hot pots… a small price to pay for a larger venue with alcohol. I love this place already! I’d you haven’t tried it, give it a whirl. Free appetizers for orders more than $ 30 and free lobster for orders of $ 50 or more… I’m hooked!

My son and I decided we were in the mood for Chinese, so we stopped there on the way home. At 50+ years old, decided it was the first time I had ever had Chinese food. Everything was the best I had ever tasted and was the first time I had ever had Chinese food. My son and I both figured out that the Chinese we had eaten before had eaten was substandard. I had the Kung pao chicken and my son had orange chicken and egg drop soup. We also split the fried rice with chicken. With two ice teas, three main dishes and egg drop soup it was only $ 42. It was well worth i. The portions were hugs. We had enough left over for another three meals. We live about 45 minutes away and have decided to go down there and eat at least once a month. It is well worth the money and the drive. I recommend it to anyone who likes Chinese food!

Phoenix Palace serves up terrific sichuan and cantonese style dishes in the ontario mills area. The chicken in garlic sauce and beef with cumin were especially delicious with just the right amount of heat. The service is great, our dishes came out quick and our waiter didnt flip out when we asked to move to a bigger table. The restaurant itself is spacious and nicely decorated, the chandelier in the entryway is extra fancy. Great place to go before or after shopping at the mills.

With the amount of restaurants in the area this place is pretty good. The dim sum is not bad either. It would be better I think if they had the dim sum carts going around. This place would grow so much if they had dim sum carts. There’s isn’t really any good dim sum places in the Inland empire.

This place serves real Chinese food, making it the only authentic Chinese restaurant that I know of in Ontario. The menu states they serve Sichuan, Hunan, and Mandarin cuisines, and that made me skeptical as I generally trust restaurants that specialize in one cuisine. As it turned out, our group of 4 ordered mostly Sichuan dishes, and they were good. The only other restaurant I could compare to in this area is Red Chili House in Rancho Cucamonga, and I think Red Chili House is probably a bit better.

Extremely disappointing! We came here just as they opened up hoping to have a good place to take my parents when they come visit. This will not be the place. First off, the service is bad, even for chinese standards. Tea water was spilled everywhere. We ordered Seafood soup with tofu(this was unfortunately the only soup we found appealing on the menu). NO seafood was to be found in it. No small bits of cut of shrimp. Nothing remotely resembling any seafood. When it was brought to their attention, the waiter made some lame excuse that it was in there but chopped up too finely to see. I’m sorry, but I’ve had this soup before and there was NO seafood whatsoever in it. Later the manager apologized and said they would make it up in the portions of the other food served. Did not really see any dramatic increase in portion sizes of the other food. All of which was pretty bland and not memorable at all. Seriously though, when you open up a brand new establishment, give more than less. Make a great impression. Don’t do what they did here. By the by, the inside is massive and it looks like they spent a good amount of $ on furnishing the place and making it look nice. But for me, it’s all about the food and on this front, this place failed.

Nicely built inside restaurant. I ate an early dinner about 3:00pm. Only a few customers inside. Waiter came to my table and claimed the cook makes only authentic China food. So, no egg rolls, pot stickers, egg flower or hot/sour soup, the very things I love the most. I ordered a combination meat Kung pao plate, very rubbery and bland. When the next table of people tried to order, the waiter gave them many excuses of the items they couldn’t make. I laughed when, I overheard him tell them, don’t order the duck, it takes too long to cook. Really? Why stay opened?

The food was ok, nothing spectacular. The service however, was terrible! We ate our entire meal, then waited for the check, and a box, and posted this review, all without the waiter asking if we would like a refill of our drinks. Yup people, not a single refill… The entire 30 mins or longer we were in the restaurant. Ok food, and shifty service get you 2 stars!

GRANDOPENING! This place just opened three days ago. Upon entering, you’re greeted by a pretty fancy and expensive lookin’ chandelier. They weren’t busy on a weekend for dinner, probably due to the fact that they are very new. We were seated right away. The menu is pretty large and has standard Chinese restaurant dishes such as Mongolian beef. Free tea is served once seated. I was able to try the walnut shrimp and kung pao chicken. Kung pao chicken($ 9.99) here is good. It tastes homemade(as it should) and it doesn’t have an artificial taste to it. The portion is big, enough to share between 2 people generously or up to 4 people when you have other dishes as well. It has green bell peppers, peanuts, red chili peppers(spicy!), green onions and regular onions. Walnut shrimp($ 12.99) was sooo good! It tastes different from others that I’ve had elsewhere, and that’s a good thing. It comes in a bed of broccoli topped with candied walnuts. The outside is light and crispy and covered with a sweet sauce. I really recommend you try this out when you go here because it was delicious. I’ve tried many walnut shrimp entrees at Chinese restaurants(one of my favorites) and this is one of the best I’ve had. Service here needs a bit of an improvement. I understand, though, since they JUST opened less than a week ago when I visited. Nothing that can’t be fixed! :) PS. Sodas are $ 1.60 and they do refills. Say whaaaaaaaaa! Niceeeee.

Finally an authentic Chinese restaurant in the area! Not the panda express stuff. They have lunch specials from $ 7 to $ 9 with soup and white rice. It’s located next to Chevron right off the 10. They just opened so not everything on the menu is available yet. Tried: Beef in stew(totally don’t know the American name): It’s basically beef with cabbage in a bowl of spicy liquid with the Sichuan peppercorn for that numbing sensation. Very good! Happy to see that this was on the lunch menu under the $ 8.99 section! Twice cooked pork: This is basically pork belly that’s cooked twice and comes out nicely hard and is served with a ton of leeks. They’re also working on having Peking duck on the menu! Can’t wait to come back and try other stuff! Oh, and the décor looks completely re-done with a modern touch. There are booths all along the edge of the restaurant with stand alone tables in the middle. The booths are a bit weird because they’re basically flat. Nonetheless, they did a great job with the design.
