Best deep sea fishing around. I have deep sea fished several times, in the area & this one takes the cake. The trained professional staff is very informative & skilled. Our trip had 12 people on it & each caught about 20 – 30 fish a peice. From trigger fish to red snapper, vermillion snapper, soap fish & a few small sharks! Well worth the money & the trip. Coming back next year!!!

We had an absolute great time this morning aboard the Esmeralda. It was just perfect for our family of four. Although we had to board the boat by 6:00 am, we figured it would give us plenty of afternoon time to still enjoy the rest of the day. We bought 26-hour fishing trips and 2 ride along trips at half price so that my daughter and I could join in on the boys’ fun. All aboard caught plenty of large red snapper and with the entire boat sharing the pot, everyone took an ample supply of fish home to enjoy. When the fish weren’t biting, we pulled up anchor and tried another spot. We would definitely recommend Action Charter Service to anyone!

I went on the CAT boat with Capt. Mike and Devon yesterday with a group of complete strangers. By the time we were catching fish we were talking like old friends. The social aspect of fishing is something often left untouched, but it’s one of the many things that an experience like this can offer. We set out promptly at 1pm, the scheduled departure time. It took us about an hour and a half to travel 20 miles out to the secret fishing spots known only by old boat Captains like Mike. The first few times we stopped and dropped our eager lines in the water, only to come up dry, like a 15 year old at the prom. Mike quickly moved us to a different location once he saw that there was no action. After a few tries and traveling probably another 5 miles over several attempts to locate the sneaky Red Snappers, Mike finally found us some fish. Once we dropped our lines in the water, it seemed like the boat came to life with calls on «Fish On» or «Oh Shit» every few seconds, depending who was catching. Devon, the sexy deckhand, was hopping all over the boat, untangling lines and putting fish into the cooler until we each filled our limit. She would quickly assess each fish’s size and either put it on ice or send back into the ocean. The best part was when she saw a fish too bloated with air to get back to the depths from which it came, she quickly grabbed a hypodermic needle and punctured the fish to bleed the air out. She was like some kind of fish combat medic jumping into the action and knowing exactly what to do. Impressive is an understatement in the way she handled the chaos while taking the time to save one fish and humanely release it into the water. In the end we caught our limit of red snapper, a single scamp, and about 15 – 16 Vermillion snapper. We headed in to shore to watch Devon take over and fillet all of the fish in about 20 minutes. She turned into some kind of electric fillet knife wielding fish ninja slicing her way through the days’ catch and quickly tossing the carcasses aside to take on her next victim. All in all I’d say it was a successful trip, and about what I expected for a guided boat, with exception of the fish medic/fillet ninja Devon, who who ran that deck like a Detroit pimp and bitch slapped every snapper that had the bad luck to get caught. My only real complaint is that Devon clearly had a bikini on underneath her tank top and shorts, which she refused to remove despite my best efforts at telepathic messaging. I guess she was too busy triaging fish to read my mind.

My husband and I took our 2 boys on a walk-on deep sea fishing trip. Everything was exceptional, from the lady taking the reservation, to the captain and deckhands. The crew was patient and helpful, and didn’t seem to get the slightest bit disgusted with all of us idiot tourists tangling our lines. They were there immediately to take the fish off the hooks, or if you needed help with anything. The boat was as clean when we left as it was when we boarded. Price for walk-on was $ 85/6hours. It was about 1.5 hours to the fishing area. I wish we could have gotten a longer trip, but I know for next time. **tips** Bring a cooler with drinks/snacks, wear good shoes, it is very hard walking on board with the waves, and it’s a longer walk back to the parking lot because of where they dock. Also, be sure and stop at one of the visitors centers, I got a coupon for $ 10 off per person.

Our family of 6 took the 6-hour red snapper trip the first week in July and had the trip of a lifetime. The son and grandson had been deep sea fishing twice before and got sick on both trips. I’m happy to say, no one got sick on this trip but I think we all agree that next time we will use the patch or some other precaution even with calm seas. Though captain George was on a different boat, both our captain and deckhand(Sarah) were great! Going out, seas were calm. We only had to stop at 3 or 4 places before we had our limit(2 each) of Red Snapper all big and some really big! Sarah helped those of us who couldn’t quite manage to pull in our catch and she baited lines for the squeamish ones in the bunch — at least until they got over it. Plenty of bait was provided. We also caught a White Snapper and Spanish Mackerel. Unfortunately, our trip was cut short when a storm rolled in and the trip back to port was way more exciting than the trip out but we made it safely and that’s what counts. Trip fee($ 1050) included fuel surcharge. They charged us $ 30 fish cleaning and 15% tip but we upped the tip because they did such a good job. They clean and bag your fish. We had half of them filleted and half«on the half shell». Cooked some the next night on the charcoal grill. Fabulous! The boat(40 ft C.A.T.) was clean and in good working order. Inside air conditioning was great and bathroom was clean with a flushable toilet. Even had bunks though we never used them. I definitely recommend Action Fishing Charters for your trip.
