Overall our stay at Phoenix on the Bay II was OK. Pool: The weekend we were there the pool got a little crazy with a lot of young teen baseball players in town, and the with only ONE security guard to try to regulate(the parents/coaches were too busy drinking in the lounge chairs to get up an help supervise) — it was just a little rowdy — no one was there to really keep order. When they weren’t letting the pre-teens take over, the pool was by far the best part of the stay. Funny that although the pool was kinda crazy, the management was much more concerned with regulating the parking. PARKING: Although we emailed our rental agency months ahead of time that our party would be in 3 cars(we were assured in writing this would be NO problem) Upon arrival, we were allowed only 2 parking passes(to be purchased at $ 27 each). As a solution, they told us take one of the cars to overnight park at public library or to a park down the road. I’ve never been told this before, and was very surprised to be met with no other options than to be given a «tough luck» attitude. The management had NO flexibility with allowing us 1 more spot of additional parking — ***NOTE: Even though every night we were there we counted ATLEAST40(or more!) empty parking spaces throughout 5 floors or parking. The total inflexibility by the management was what really bothered me. They insisted they were 100% booked, and thats fine — I know there are«rules» but being told to drive and park elsewhere while looking at a minimum of 40 empty parking spaces seemed like lacking some common courtesy, where we could have worked together — like hey if you guys get really full, we will move our car — but while there are so many empty spots every day for Thurs — Sun weekend? Overall: There was some wear on the condo(broken recliner, broken fixtures in bathroom) with minor issues, but nothing that was a total bummer. The view was nice, the place was quiet, the A/C was cold.
Overall, with as many places as there are to stay in the GS/OB area — we will keep looking next time.

We stayed at the Phoenix I. We could not check in to our room until 4PM and they wanted us to check out by 10AM. When we got to our condo the door was covered in tape and wet paint. The room had old musty furniture. We asked for toilet paper and they declined saying we were only allowed one role per stay(it wasn’t even a full role when we arrived). There was no store in walking distance to purchase supplies and we had no car.

We rented a 3 Bedroom Condo last year mid July. We had other family members that had 2 other 2 Bedroom units. We had a blast spending most of the days in or around the lazy river. The other guests seemed very friendly and happy to be on Vacation. It never seemed like anyone was crowding your personal space. The Condos are perfect for Multi Family sharing as all have seperate bathrooms and decent square footage. Kitchens are large enough to cook for large groups. Not like home but close. We really like the OB area. The local Grocery Store is Publix and they had every chance to over charge the Tourists but don’t seem to try. They have a great deli that gives samples of every product you ask about. The locals are all very kind. We are going back in June this year and we are having a family reunion with over 50 family members. We are bigs fans of this Property and Orange Beach.

This place has it all if you’re looking for a fun, family oriented vacation. The condominiums are very new, built in the last 5 years I believe. The floor plan of our 2BR condo is wide open with a great view of the courtyard that includes a lazy river, a water slide and 2 pools(one heated) plus ample space for spreading out and lounging. Our family of 5 fit perfectly and the kids loved the Jacuzzi bath tub in the master bedroom. The amenities in the kitchen were too numerous to list — it was honestly just like being at home. It was awesome to be able to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at home if we chose too. We will NEVER stay in a hotel again if there is a condo available — this is the only way to vacation. We’re here on spring break and the place was busy, but it was never annoying or packed so that you can’t enjoy yourself. It was a fun, family type crowd but you also saw younger people(in their 20’s) there too having fun without kids. Highly recommend this place if you’re coming to Orange Beach, Alabama.
