Fisher’s was walking distance from our airbnb. Had we stayed longer, we likely would have been back for another meal or two. We sat downstairs where they have broader and average-priced fare. It was happy hour so we enjoyed some draft beers 50% off and ordered our food. The food was amazing but very airy. We were full but had we not ordered beers, we would have likely still been hungry. I had the fried green tomato sandwich with gulf shrimp and a side of tomato cucumber salad. My coworkers had the shrimp creole and fish tacos(a daily special). All plates were cleaned. Next time I’d order an appetizer or two for the table to carry the meal a bit further. The location is beautiful and the building itself is clean and brand-new feeling. I would really love to sit outside on the porch or deck here when it’s not the day after tornado — warning type of weather!

As others have pointed out, it is important to note that Fisher’s consists of two completely separate restaurants — upstairs and ground level(«dockside»). I have not tried the ground level restaurant, which appears to be more kid and economically friendly. The upstairs is, hands down, the best restaurant in the Orange Beach/Gulf Shores area. The food, atmosphere and service are truly exceptional. If this restaurant picked up and moved to NYC or LA, it would be among the hip and desirable places to dine.

For a restaurant that is in the middle of Orange Beach, you can not ask for a better setting and views. This has become one of our favorite! We ate the Shrimp Po-boy that the shrimp were cooked perfect and the Fisher’s burger with sweet potatoes. Perfection in a bun with Amazing sweet potatoes! Even though we live in OB, we heard about this restaurant from another military couple who gave great reviews. The Manager was Very Military friendly!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Fisher’s Upstairs. The cocktails were unique and yummy, the wine selection good, and the food was delicious. I had the pork cheeks and duck confit, and he had the crab cakes and grouper… yes, we had to share because after the first bite, we looked at each other and said«can I try yours? Mine is awesome!». A shout out to our incredible waiter Dalton who was right on time and right on the menu. We will ask for him the next time we dine there!

My family and I enjoyed dockside the day after Christmas. Not too pricey and everyone enjoyed their lunch. Good place and service. You can get there by boat.

Fantastic service and food. I really like how the upstairs is decorated, and the atmosphere is very nice. We had excellent service, although I was with my aunt and uncle who frequent the place and requested our specific server, so that may have had something to do with it! We brought our own wine, so I can’t speak to the cocktail list, but they did look delicious. I had the gumbo, which was phenomenal, and the seared jumbo scallops. The cauliflower that came with the scallops was so good! We asked our server how it was prepared, and one of the ingredients was lard! Regardless, it was delicious. Just know you aren’t necessarily making a healthy choice with the cauliflower! Everyone with me raved about their food. They do have a casual restaurant downstairs, Dockside, which I haven’t tried. But it seems Fisher’s would have something for everyone.

Évaluation du lieu : 5 New Orleans, LA
In traveling around this great Country there is a consistent dilemma for a person who has grown up in New Orleans. That is finding places to nourish the soul, taste buds, and stomach that one is accustomed to as a lifelong citizen of the Crescent City. And so time is spent on sites like Unilocal to reconnoiter what is available in new locations. We make biannual visits to the Alabama Gulf Coast and for the past few vacations we have dined at Fisher’s Restaurant in Orange Beach. Fisher’s is our favorite restaurant on the Gulf Coast and would be one of our favorites if situated in New Orleans. As you enter the restaurant that is located on the second floor of the Orange Beach Marina you are immediately greeted by charming and professional hosts. The décor and furnishings must have been developed and completed by an interior designer. There is seating both inside the beautiful restaurant and outside when the weather is nice; as it is now. Parking has never been a problem and the rest rooms are very clean. Background music is the kind I like and never loud or intrusive. Two beautiful bars located inside and outside also provide seating for a casual drink or to dine. The drinks are prepared professionally and my Vodka Martina was delightful. As to service it is first class and has been on all our visits. This past time Alex did a number for us providing the attentive but not too attentive kind of service you desire for a classy, intimate, leisurely, enjoyable dinner. The food is the reason to dine at Fisher’s however. Chef Bill Brian built his culinary foundation with some of our most renowned Chefs of New Orleans; Emeril Lagasse and Donald Link. He was educated well on how to make his diners smile with delight at his creations. On the latest visit the Crab Cakes were scrumptious. Two cakes served as an appetizer with a remoulade pancetta apple slaw. Flavored just right and never a need for the addition of salt, pepper, or anything else. It is so nice to dine in a restaurant that does not even have those spices on the table. And so it is with Fisher’s. The Oyster Salad consisted of oysters and spinach with a warm bacon dressing. Oysters were fried and had a very tasty flavor and the serving size was perfect for an appetizer. Grouper, freshly caught, was wonderful and lightly cooked in brown butter with black eyed and crowder peas topping over a bed of vegetables. Cooked perfectly and the portion size was just right for dinner. Scallops are my favorite when I can get them and these were prepared as any great Chef does. Cooked just the right amount of time and served with roasted cauliflower and a ginger herb salad. Your stomach is appreciative of these combinations of flavors. Not to mention your taste buds doing a jitterbug while and after devouring the taste of what comes out of the kitchen at Fisher’s. There is so much you want to experience at this restaurant that you wish you lived in the area or that the owner, Johnny Fisher, would open a dining establishment in your home town. Dessert had to be passed upon. Coffee was good and acceptable even without any chicory. As to wine the selection and price were reasonable. Although not familiar with much on the Wine List our server Alex guided us through and what we had was very nice. A bottle that was good on its’ own and complemented the food selections. We enjoyed a Diora Pinot Noir 2013. The noise level was nice and conversation at our table was never interrupted by other diners or the very good quality background music. The restaurant is beautiful itself and a pleasure to the eyes. Dress is what I would term Resort Casual and there is a more casual restaurant downstairs named«Dockside» operated by the same outfit as Fisher’s Upstairs. The food, service, ambiance and atmosphere, wine list, and attitude of the owner and staff rises to the level of a Five Star for me. This restaurant has my Seal of Approval!!!

We were keeping our boat at Orange Beach Marina and ate at the dockside a few times. The food is good and is different from many of the other restaurants in Orange Beach. The décor and setting is perfect overlooking the marina. The food and service can be a bit spotty depending on when you go. We had better experiences at lunch than dinner. I think they still have some growing pains. We ordered a bottle of wine with dinner one night and they were out of wine glasses?! They apparently had a wedding upstairs and all the glasses went up to the reception.(Shouldn’t they have enough glassware for both restaurants?) Anyway, we had to drink our wine out of Dixie cups, which is fine we understood but it would have been nice if they took 10% off the bottle of wine or gave us a free appetizer or something. Instead they acted like it was completely normal to use Dixie cups with a $ 50+ bottle of wine. The fish and food was great. I love their local and fresh ingredients. I definitely recommend Fishers if you are in OBA

Visiting for the first time my wife and I decided to sit at the bar. We had heard the Fisher’s was the best in town and wanted to see for ourselves. Walking in it definitely felt a little new. Everything recently remodeled and it had that spa feel to it. The bar had a beautiful marble and wood top and had lighting inside it that really made eating at the bar a treat. The bar tenders where very knowledgeable about the wines and readily told us the history of the restaurant and the sister restaurant /sports bar downstairs. Both being right on the docs at a very high end marina. You can sit inside or outside. Outside there is a large horseshoe bar that looks like it would be great to hit with some friends sometime. My wife who is a connoisseur of crab cakes decided on those and I had a nice thick piece of fresh grouper. It was served on perfectly cooked risotto with a wonderful sauce… My wife and I both agreed the crab cakes, perfectly cooked(there is an art to the perfect crab cakes) where some of the best we had ever savored. Overall I don’t think anyone could leave without being thoroughly satisfied. The owner makes a point to gently touch each table and make sure everything is perfect. I foresee a great future for Fisher’s and we will go every time we are in the area.

The food could have been awful and I’d still give it 5 stars bc the ambiance, the setting and the staff were just THAT wonderful. That said… the food wasn’t awful. It was lovely. I’d give the food a 3.5 to 4 out of 5… my(black and blue filet) was cooked to perfection but could have done without the(salty) seasoning and I wasn’t a fan of the pickled onions on everything and the manchego potato cake was a bit dry… but I’m a wanna-be foodie… so take all that with a grain of salt. GO! You will NOT be disappointed!

Great service and wonderful atmosphere. Cured tuna was great but very small portion. Heirloom salad was alright… spinach salad probably better. Swordfish was good with a great balsamic vinegar sauce. Special fresh fish was grouper which was pretty yummy… have heard the amberjack special is wonderful but not on the menu tonight. Everything good and felt like clean eating. 4 stars for great cocktails, service and consistency. Food was good but didn’t blow me away. Definitely a solid choice for setting expectations of a fine dining experience.

Good food, friendly staff, but you’re paying for the atmosphere. Our waitress was fantastic, treating us to dessert(it was my birthday) and even consoling my tantrum throwing two year old like a professional parent. We started the evening with a couple apps. Some fried crab claws, oysters, and hush puppies. The oysters were ok, nothing special. The hush pups were small and a little overlooked, but still worth buying. But the crab claws. So good. Then they brought me out a fish po’ boy. The bread was toasted a little much, and many of the ingredients were piled onto one side. The iceberg lettuce wasn’t separated and tomatoes weren’t ripe. Despite all it’s shortcomings, the amount of delicious shrimp they piled onto the plate made the entire experience wonderful. This is a good place to dine for anyone in gulf shores or orange beach.

There are 2 Fishers… upstairs and downstairs. The downstairs used to be Bimini Bobs. The upstairs is the old Hemingways. Upstairs is fine dining. Downstairs is the usual casual gulf fair. I ate upstairs so I will only be reviewing this portion of the restaurant. First, I started with the crab cakes. Great choice. Fresh, lump crab meat… lots of it. Very, very tasty. Next, I had a surf and turf of filet and scallops. Outstanding. The fillet was nicely seasoned, perfectly cooked to medium rare and a great piece of beef. The scallops were big and perfectly seared… I love it when restaurants get scallops right. Shows a ton of skill and is absolutely incredible tasting. 2 glasses of Pinot Noir and the meal was absolutely stunning. Kudos to Fishers. They do an amazing job. I’ll be dining there again and again.

Tried this place due to its recognition from Southern Living mag. Ambiance is great, but other than the fresh oysters, food left little to be desired. Menu is different than most others places at the beach, which was nice. I had fried grouper cheeks, which would have been really good had they not been over fried and dried out. Mom had shrimp & grits which was fantastic! Grits were cooked perfectly. I can’t remember what my dad had, but his brownie desert consisted of a small rock hard brownie with some ice cream. The description made it out to be heaven in a bowl, so be careful.

It’s a strange thing to downgrade a restaurant review, especially when you like the place. You like the waitstaff, and yes some of the items are outstanding, but… Last time I went to Fishers was on 05÷30÷13, yes it’s been a while, when I was there I had the pork cheeks, they were out of this world. So while entertaining guests we decided to go back there, manly because I wanted pork cheeks. Service, well a little slow, actually a lot slow, I had to find the manager to sort things out. JT who wasn’t are original server showed up, he was very professional and a vetted member of the Fishers team. He’ll go far in life. JT told us they were up for a James Beard award. I have always wanted to go to a four star James Beard restaurant, no if they are up for it, James Beard should reconsider. In a way I’d like to be snarky and mean; however, Fishers is a 10 plus with ambiance, JT the only server we met was a 10. I chose to eat somewhat light, with the richness of the memories of the pork cheeks, I also got the kale salad. I also know the amount of hard work chefs put in creating and changing the menus and their masterpieces. So, if I spoke with the chef, I’d say you could do a much better job with those pork cheeks. As a matter of fact they were so unrecognizable as to the pork cheeks i fondly remember. They were almost inedible, a salty asian dressing doused these minuscule cheeks, just removed any flavor that comes from such a wonderful fatty piece of meat. It was absolutely nothing like the old cheeks, i was very disappointed. For the love of God and all things holy, try your food, I’m sure your way talented then me, but that was truly awful, I remember a crispy hunk of pork in a light dressing, it wasn’t bathed in what ever asian sesame seed dressing like the new. Kale salad, it was good Spinach salad, was excellent Scallops. was excellent Wedge salad, ok Grilled tuna, good. If you are up for this award, I wish you the best of luck and you should be very proud of your accomplishments. On that token, I’m no schlub, and as Al Pacino says«I’ve Been Around» the cheeks gotta go!!!

Update. Two bacon apps worth every penny. Oysters Earle are the bomb. Had a grouper special that was fantastic. Also noted that the table next to us didn’t like their entrée. I think they just did not understand what they ordered. But. The server had a manager there in under a minute. We had great service from Madelynn. We will ask for her again.

We enjoyed dining outside for lunch at fishers. my wife and I both ordered the chicken sandwich with a new side dish, root beer sweet potatoes. Our sandwiches were served just as ordered, properly prepared and served nice and hot. The sweet potatoes were amazing. So besides the good food our server, Kristina was attentive and provided excellent service. We definitely will be back!

We sat upstairs here on a Friday night. Very nicely decorated, but we were seated very closely to the hallway. It was a very high traffic area, and there were plenty tables available that were more private. Nonetheless, the food was very good, but the price rating for Unilocal is way off on this one. The stuffed flounder was good, but there were no sides served with it. The filet was cooked to perfection, but the side portions were rather small. The dessert was a molten lava cake with goat cheese in the middle. Wasn’t a fan. The service was really good though, and the food was quick. However, the prices were just too high to garner higher than a 3 star rating. 2 rather small entrees with no appetizers, a dessert, a bud light, and a mixed drink for $ 100 before tip. Wasn’t really a fan of the vibe in this place either.
