I’m a dork! I spent an entire week packing for our vacation, being careful to bring everything I needed and completely forgot my eye glasses! I mostly need them only for distance, but I fully intended to go see Star Wars this trip and needed to make sure I could see from anywhere in the theater. I’ve discovered December is possibly the worst month to attempt booking an eye exam. Everyone I called had no availability for a new appointment and those that weren’t booked solid said it would be weeks before my glasses would be ready for pic up. Apparently people this time of year are using the remaining benefits on their insurance before the new year begins. Since we are only here for a few days, only same day or next day service will do. My handy dandy Unilocal mobile app brought me to Lilo’s sandwich shop next door, so I decided to drop into 20⁄20 just to see if I might get lucky. After explaining my situation they told me to come back after I finished my meal and they could get me glasses same day! It was 3pm, I returned @ 3:45pm and by 5:45pm I’d completed an exam for a new prescription and walked out the door with a brand new pair of eyeglasses. SCORE!!! The staff was super cool. This is one of those places where my outgoing personality just meshed effortlessly with the crew. I want to give a special shout out to three people in particular. Tiffiny helped me to find a decent looking pair of frames that fit the 2 for $ 149 sale. Beyond that, she also did all she could to get me on my way quickly and really made me feel important. I could feel the urgency she placed on my file to get me through the process fast. You should have seen how she moved about. You would have thought I was Obama. LOVE you TIFFINY!!! Sam kept me thoroughly entertained as I waited. We had so much fun talking that I think we both forgot this was a business transaction. I felt like I was talking to my sister rather than some I’d just met. She was so awesome that I just wanted to take her with us on the remainder of our vacation! She also was my fashion guide for frames that fit my face and look the best. Last but not least, Tara @ the help desk(who was a travel junkies like me) gave me great tips to local restaurants and things to do in the area. I’m telling you, this place was packed with people and yet I felt like the only customer in the store. FINALTHOUGHTS I’m very pleased with my new eyeglasses, the great deal I got and the wonderful service I received. I was so pleased that I hugged everybody… I could t help myself.
