Some of the best barbecue around! Beef ribs. Delicious. Three spectacular, mouth-watering sauces. The cornbread is… wow. The drinks are reasonably priced to add on to a great meal. To top it off, Scottie’s has spectacular service. Now why only four stars? The sides. I love corn on the cob. I adore it. Scottie’s corn was withered and bland. It took a lot of butter to cover the burnt taste. The bbq baked beans needed a lot of salt, but after the adding salt and barbecue sauce, it was good. Good: Deeeelicious barbecue and spectacular service. Bad: Nothing really. Final: Go now!

Stop #1 on my Beef Ribs and Pulled pork tour! This tour may take quite a while to complete. Beef Ribs 2 stars Pulled Pork 5 stars Mac n Cheese 2 stars Fries 3 stars Sauces 3 stars Service 4 stars I’ve got Unilocal friends at 2, 3, 4 and 5 stars on this place! One thing they all agree on is good service. I have been there twice, once at the old location and once the other day at the new one — both times we experienced good service. The food on the other hand — didn’t really wow me to the point where I am adamantly looking forward to going back. It was ok the first time, and ok the second time as well. As others have said — the food is as advertised — smokey! I love the smell and the taste, and I’m not sure what style this would be, but I prefer my ribs sauced. I want it all — dry rubbed, smoke BBQ’d and sauced! The beef ribs here were pretty dry — they were also small — I don’t know if that had anything to do with the lack of tenderness, they certainly weren’t falling off the bone at all. I’m just used to really big, a little fatty beef ribs! I prefer Blake’s, and actually most other places beef ribs over these! They have 3 sauces, all of which were pretty good at first — I like spicy foods, however I think most place’s spicy BBQ sauce(including Scotties) lean a little too heavily on the heat, and it upsets the balance of flavors in the sauce — pretty soon the spiciness is all you can taste! My mom had their smokey meatloaf — portion was huge, pieces were wrapped in bacon. It was tender and had a nice flavor — but I am not into other people’s meatloaf — I need to see what’s in it, so although I tried a couple bites, it’s not for me. My brother had chicken fried steak and it was pretty much the same as most places offerings. On the other hand, the pulled pork was fantastic — tender, flavorful and I liked being able to add the amount of sauce that I wanted. The sides — fries were good — thin — the way I like them, not much else to mention there. Got the Cowboy Mac last time because it sounded good, but I didn’t care for it much and wished I would have just gotten the Mac and cheese. On my second trip the Mac and cheese turned out to be disappointing, as others have said it was creamy, and that’s about it, really lacking in cheesy flavor! I don’t know where Scotties will rate overall in my beef ribs and pulled pork review series. — the pulled pork will be high overall and the beef ribs near the bottom as well as the sides — but with good service– I guess this place will continue to sit firmly in the middle of my ratings.

I came here with some friends on another friend’s recommendation, and we ordered ourselves a feast. Everyone in our group basically ordered their own ribs(I got the baby back). Then we collectively ordered the following sides: wings, mashed potatoes, fries, sweet potato fries, Texas fries, mac and cheese, cole slaw and BBQ beans. The ribs were… okay. It was pretty much fall-off-the-bone, but the meat was over-smoked and dry. The dry rub was mediocre at best. The saving grace was the BBQ sauce… or rather, all of the sauces(ranging from original to spicy). None of the sides really stood out to me except for the Texas fries. Just looking at it made me drool and it didn’t fall short in the flavor department. I wish the fries came out crispier, but that would be extremely difficult to do given all the toppings that go onto that plate. But the regular fries were seasoned well and were really crispy, so that tells me they got the fries down right. Service was excellent, the restaurant was really clean and there are multiple TVs there showing games. Oh, one thing to note: the tap water they use in their iced/sweet tea is very noticeable and not appealing at all. I had to switch my drink to Sprite because of that.

Grub! Sauce on the table is good… but tasty, flavorful, smoked meat is best when sauce is not needed. Scottie’s satisfies with the first bite of ST. LOUIS RIBs. BEANS were great. BRISKET good too. Great place to go after fishing. Wish it was closer, but what a treat when in the area! Monkey will return for BEEFRIBS next time. They were out by the time we got there.

I never really understood the fasciation with BBQ till I had Scottie’s. Since then I have become a BBQ Pulled Pork lover! The pork was just the right tenderness with some crispy bits in for good measure. The BBQ sauce is served in a variety of styles, and best of all it is served hot! Love it! I know that they moved to this new location and from the times I have gone it seemed like they were struggling to get back up on their feet. I haven’t been in a few weeks because of the distance away it is but I really hope that it survives. Reading the recent reviews makes me sad because I really came to love BBQ because of here. I’ll have to pay it a visit again soon to see if it has stayed the same. From my memories this is great BBQ and well worth it.

more like a 4.5÷5 stars. after going to tulsa a few times, i wanted to check out a new bbq place. luckily scottie and tulsa are not too far from each other. i usually take picture of my food, but scotties’ food was so delicious i was inhaling it down. no time for pictures. i felt like an starving kid from the amazon who saw gourmet food for the first time in his life. i was wolfing the ribs down like there was no tomorrow. we ended up getting the texan and Ribs & Pulled Pork plate. you know what they say about texas, right? everything is bigger over there. and the story holds up for the texan sandwich… its huge. its covered in sauce and loaded with onions. the texan sub ain’t nothing to mess with… as far as the ribs and pulled pork goes… it was a little bit burnt, but nothing a little bbq sauce can’t fix. they have original and spicy sauce. be warned! the hot/spicy sauce is no joke. my taste buds were on fire after dipping my sandwich into it. i gave it a -.5 star because when i asked for more sauce, the lady gave me attitude and was like«i already gave you sauce». Let me give you a quick hint. always please the customer, if you want them to return. PS:from now to father’s day, if you purchase anything from scottie’s you are entered to win a new bbq grill for your dad. PSS: they have Italian ice!

We came here with friends because the place we wanted to go to wasn’t open yet for the day(Tulsa Rib Co). It was a Saturday afternoon and I think there was 1 other table occupied. When you walk in you can smell the BBQ and it really did smell great. That’s about all this place has going for it though. You walk in and get a table. You’re given menus and then you go up to the counter to order. I did get a coupon from Unilocal for 10% off since i used the check in feature. The guy behind the register must have been newer since he had no idea how to process the coupon. I am not a fan of BBQ but my husband and the friends I was with are. My husband had ribs and I ordered some mahi mahi tacos from their appetizer menu and a side of mac and cheese. J said the ribs were good but I wasn’t impressed. The mac and cheese wasn’t that good. It was creamy but it tasted like it was made from a frozen TV dinner. I don’t think we’ll be back… Nothing about the experience left us craving more. I personally thought it was too pricey for what we got.

The BBQ chicken I had here yesterday is some of the best I have ever had. Moist, juicy, perfect slightly crisp skin, and not at all greasy. Absolutely scrumptious. Now that I am so spoiled by Bludso’s ribs, and can’t even fathom the thought of eating ribs anywhere else, I thought I’d check out Scotties new digs and give the BBQ chicken a whirl. Damn glad I did, as I was passing by after the afternoon Angel game just up the street. Apparently Scottie hates clutter. I noted in my original review that I mentioned the need for some decorations. Same shortcoming here. Kinda barren with plain tables and those black vinyl banquet chairs that you see at your local VFW halls. I’ve witnessed more inspired décor in hospital cafeterias. Lots of empty floor space, so much so that I joked to Scottie that he now has such an abundance of room that he could have a Rajun Cajun band and a dance floor. He said that I’m not the first with that suggestion but his license doesn’t allow it, but will go to the city and see if he can in the future. Regardless of live music or not I will return often for that chicken. My sides of black-eyed peas and garlic mashed potatoes were very good, although I would have liked a bit more garlic. The chicken comes out sans sauce and I lightly squirted the tasty and warmed«original» sauce all over it. They also offer a spicy version as well. Vegan alert: the black-eyed peas have a ton of shredded pork, which I loved. Service is at the counter, and the initial lady that was ending her shift gave me a very warm and enthusiastic greeting. The younger miss that brought me my food was pleasant enough, but never did any follow up after she made her delivery. Saw Scottie on my way out and he was very friendly as always. Great to see that his business is booming, especially in this day and age, couldn’t happen to a nicer gent. But how about cluttering up the place with some southern style decorations, or some plants or ???

First. This place deserves 3.5 stars from me but Unilocal prevents that kind of rating. I give 4 stars for their family friendly type of customer service and welcoming smiles. The staff there seemed not only happy to be there but proud to be there and that’s rare these days. The restaurant itself leaves more to be desired for in the décor department. It appears to me as, and I could totally be wrong, as a previous dance hall that was once rented out for quinceñera’s or wedding receptions-like an old American Legion slathered with fresh paint & the common«type a» buffet chairs with oddly unmatched tables. It’s all white in there & kinda had a feel of a hospital. Strange I know but nonetheless didn’t deter us from trying the food so many Unilocalers recommended. So I ordered at the counter– it was noon and I believe we were customers’ number 2&3. At least that’s what the woman behind the counter was telling customer # 1 of the day who was ahead me. So I guess you usually walk in and order, then seat yourself? I wasn’t sure but that’s what we did. I was able to use a Unilocal check in 10% off coupon although the owner & register woman had no idea it was available & later it turns out, should not be available on Unilocal.Perhaps a Unilocal error? I’m not sure but they let me have the discount any way & that was nice. Their prices I should add are very decent-better than Lucilles for most dishes. Ok so we started off with the Texas fries which came out about 5 minute After ordering!!! We were impressed with the pulled porky goodness & warmed homemade delicious BBQ sauce they give you. We had the original flavor & we loved it-it had a bite to it but was a tad sweet too. The fries were cheesy & a generous serving for the two of us. 5 minutes later as we were still stuffing our faces when our plates arrived. I had the andouille sausage plate with cornbread, collard greens & baked beans. The sausage was great-as were the spicy greens. The corn bread could use some improvement. Although it was a large piece, it seemed like a commercial mix of some sort without any real flavor or moisture. I’m a baker & so I would suggest to them to stop using the dry mix they are using-and these should also be served in a warmed basket To keep moisture in or at least to keep them warm. It was essentially flavorless. Sad. The baked beans also need flavor. The beans themselves were a bit hard, and this means as though they weren’t fully cooked or baked. They seemed similar-too similar to canned beans. The kind your family would buy at Costco for a weekend BBQ party in a huge 24 oz can. Only my family would have cooked them in a crock pot for a few hours and added seasonings so that they didn’t taste so blah bland and uncooked. So for the bread & beans I give 2 stars. Edible but not so good. My Husband had the full rack of St Louis Ribs. They came out with a nice rub & he was pretty quiet while eating. He really thought they were great. Not fall off the bone tender but very good. I tasted them & well– who can complain about the smoky meaty flavor. He had the baked beans & garlic mashed potatoes. The potatoes were good and buttery but again the bread & beans left more to be desired. After this banquet of food one of the servers/cooks came out & thanked us for coming then offered dessert. We ordered the deep fried PB& J sandwich. 3 hours later we ate in the car and this thing was delicious!!! Lol. It’s too bad we were too full to have eaten it a lá modé with vanilla ice cream while we were there as they had offered it. Damn I bet that would have been amazing. All in all 3.5 stars for the food. We liked it because this place was simplistic– a nice change from the chain BBQ joints.

Mmmmmm — BBQ! Scotties makes really good meat dishes — their meatloaf is fantastic! If you are a meatloaf fan, this is your place. I also had a few tastes of their ribs and the pulled pork — all good. I LOVED the smokey taste to the ribs. And their BBQ sauce is awesome — it has really great flavor. However, as pretty much everyone else has mentioned, their sides are disappointing. It is like they spend all their time making their meat terrific that they completely forget about their sides. The mac and cheese was pretty bland — I make it better at home out of a box. Mashed potatoes were okay, but also not too exciting. The cornbread muffin was also okay, but made much better by the sweet butter that came with it — otherwise it was a little dry. Other people mention that it is a little pricey, but I disagree — my plate came with two big slices of meatloaf, two sides and cornbread for $ 8.50. I would pay that just for the meatloaf alone! Also, they just moved to a new, much larger location that maybe needs a few touches to make it feel less like a cafeteria. But you are pretty much guaranteed to find a table now.

This one goes to an 11 The new and improved Scotties is awesome! The new Katella location is huge and has a nice look and feel inside, the employees are really friendly and helpful, and the food seems to have a more consistent delivery. And the new food options are great! The fact that Scottie’s now has a burger and fries really makes this a great«go to» place. We know Scottie’s has a handle on the BBQ front, but if they can make a kick-ass burger, I’ll be hooked on this place in a bad way. Stop by and check it out– a legit 5 star experience.

Theres always a lot of competition in BBQ and Scottie’s Smokehouse is one of the better choices to eat at. I came here with two other friends hoping to try a new type of BBQ for us; smoked meat. We haven’t had amazing smoked meat before and woopie-do! We found ourselves a winner! We went in ordering the Family platter(Includes St. Louis Ribs, Brisket, Cornbread and Smoked beans). The Cornbread was O. K it wasn’t fantastic nor was it horrible. The smoked beans could have tasted better if they were softer. We got them kinda tough bean-y. Hah. The Brisket was dryyyyyyyyyy. Even with the sauce. Maybe its not for me, but definitely going to try something else next time – maybe the sausage!!! The St. Louis Ribs are TODIEFOR. They are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOGOOD! Put some of the BBQ sauce(Yellow cap, I’ll explain that in a bit) on it and man oh man. SOOOGOOD! Now, the BBQ Sauces that they offer are SERVEDWARM/HOT! So your meat will taste warm! There are two sauces that they have. There’s a red cap which is kind of a sweet sauce and the yellow cap is a sweet+slightly salty+hot sauce – I can’t really describe it– but that was my choice of sauce. And for drinks I highly recommend you try their sweet tea. This is by far, the best tasting sweet tea I’ve had. I recommend anyone who wants to stray out of the pit style BBQ and try smoked meat here. Oh, and be wary of the drive to get to Scottie’s it gets kinda confusing with the«Orange Circle» its like driving in a war zone! NOONEKNOWSWHATYIELDMEANS.

Scottie’s is good BBQ. I get cravings for the ribs. It’s probably good I don’t live anywhere near Scottie’s otherwise I’d probably go a lot more often… which is basically only good for my waistline. My tastebuds are sad about that. The ribs fall of the bone… it’s amazing. This is a silly thing really but I love that the meat falls off the bone but it doesn’t fall off till you want it to. Some places, the meat falls off the bone while it’s still on the plate. Not Scottie’s. The meat is falling off the bone as you pick it up and take a bite out of it. Mmmm… heaven! Aside from the ribs, the BBQ Baked Beans, the sausage… it’s all delicious! And their barbeque sauce, we sometimes save leftovers in the fridge to eat with other things, it’s so good. I’m salivating just thinking about it. Go try it and see for yourself. Yum!

After my visit of Houston Texas, I was obsessed on finding a rib place that was as good in dry rub as Rudy’s BBQ. I searched high and low for the perfect St Louis Rib. Tried the Tulsa company, St Louis Rib at Lucille’s. But they’re all not what I was looking for. I have been meaning to go to Scottie’s for the longest time. So last friday, I finally drove down to Orange on my way back from work and stop to try their St Louis BBQ. The place is coincidentally located a few miles from Tulsa Rib Company. It’s a small restaurant in a small shopping center. When I opened the door, I can smell the seasonings and the dry rub smell. I knew then, that I have come to the right place. Unfortunately, this review is for a to-go condition. I know that I should’ve dined in, but that will have to wait for my next visit. I ordered a St Louis Rib full rack and ½ lb of brisket to go for around 25 $. In my opinion, the ½ lb or brisket and the full rack can be for 3 servings for 2 people. So the 25 $ came out a really good deal. Took my wife for a lunch date at CSUF cafeteria before her meeting and got some compliment from the nearby patrons. The meat was not as tender as I had imagined(back to Rudy’s BBQ) but it was very delicious. The meat didn’t exactly fall of the bone, but I assume this is a St Louis style. The meat was well seasoned and delicious without the BBQ sauce. The sauce was just like any other sauce. It was a good sauce but I didn’t care too much about it. The ½ lb of brisket came out to be a big portion for the two of us. The brisket was good and juicy. I am the kind of guys who like a lot of flavor in my meat so I need to accompany the brisket with a good dip of the BBQ sauce. Overall, I enjoyed the ribs from Scottie’s. They’re not exactly Rudy’s BBQ, but this is as close as I can try without driving too far out from Orange County. Scottie’s ribs are different from Phil’s, Tulsa Rib, or Lucille’s. But if you’re looking for a good dry rub ribs, Scottie’s is the place to go.

Friday! Today is national Grouch Day! But my rating wasn’t inspired by today’s visit to Scottie’s. After getting our daily fruits and vegetables from Jamba Juice, my breakdancing buddies and I thought about hitting up some Greek food to stay in the healthy direction since we were not quite satisfied. Instead we busted a major Uey after quickly deciding to go the unhealthy route. While driving, I quickly, illegally checked my bookmarks on my phone to see some place that sounded great and Scottie’s was the closest by 1 block… Perfect! First thing I noticed about this place, the location is horrible. Thank lord for Unilocal and it’s reviews, I don’t know how many people would drive by this place. I haven’t had some good olé BBQ for a while, so I was pretty excited. Upon entering, I noticed the sport like/cowboy theme they got going *big ups for the cowboy music as well*. Manly place, manly food, and some manly men, we decided upon ordering a Family Platter between the 3 of us. The service was great btw, there were only 2 guys running this presently desolate place but according to them they had lines out the door during lunch. The 2 guys were really helpful on recommending us which items to choose from. I didn’t understand about the whole family platter is for to go only thing, but he hooked it up with plates(which were apparently more $) and we got to have a great«Lunner» inside. We got: Brisket, pulled pork, AND St. Louis Ribs(they hooked it up with a 3rd meat!) Our 2 sides were garlic mashed potatoes and BBQ beans. — The brisket was kind of dry, no juices were present when taking a bite and you really need the BBQ sauce for flavor. The nice charr on it gave it a great smoky flavor, although sadly it was faint. — The pulled pork wasn’t that amazing either. There’s parts of it where you can taste the pork flavor, but at a certain point I thought I was eating beef. You also needed BBQ sauce for more of a kick, but I bet it would’ve made a killer pulled pork sammy. — The St. Louis ribs were alright. It was the first one I took a bite from and it was«almost» fall of the bone tender. You hadda give it a slight tug, and the taste could hold itself without the BBQ sauce.(Just add it anyway, you’re in a smokehouse) O, and there was more fat than the already-little presence of meat on each rib. — The garlic mashed potatoes were a hit. The most garlic presence I ever tasted in a garlic mashed potato anywhere. It wasn’t soggy either, held together and you can flip the container upside down without it falling out. Nice — The BBQ beans didn’t have a wow factor either. At first it just tasted like canned beans, but you dig a little bit further and you’ll find MEAT! but not as much either… If I was suppose to taste BBQ sauce or any BBQ flavor, I didn’t. Overall experience, it was a nice change for my Friday since I usually go to a taqueria. The service was awesome and the staff was very friendly. The food was somewhat bland, a little under seasoned, and needed a lot more smoke to really make me believe it’s a smokehouse. They’re moving to a new place on Katella and Glassell, I believe next to a Billy Boy, but it’s a BIG maybe for my chances on eating there. * My buds and I were experimenting with the flavors… get half a spoonful of pulled pork, stick it in the BBQ beans container, and drizzle some BBQ sauce… BOMB! *

We’ve had Scottie’s BBQ bookmarked for months now and we were super excited to finally have a chance to check it out. Unfortunately Scottie’s didn’t seem to live up to all of it’s reviews. Now I’m not sure if it is because I grew up with a dad that made killer ribs, but these ribs did not knock us off our feet. The ribs were just ok. We agree with most reviews by saying these were better than Lucille’s, but Lucille’s BBQ is generally overrated anyways. The meat was dry and needed a generous amount of BBQ sauce just to bring them back to life. The pulled pork sandwich literally turned into a hot mess because there was so much juice in the meat that it had disintegrated the bottom bun. You would figure that much juice would signify some killer pork, but this wasn’t the case. It was lacking that fatty tenderness of the pulled pork which is strange since the fattiness of pulled pork is usually what the sandwich centers around. All it had left us with was this watery sandwich that was completely impossible to pick up. You should never have to eat a sandwich with silverware. We also tried three sides; collar greens, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. Other then the collar greens, the other sides weren’t that good. The mac&cheese seemed over cooked, and the mashed potatoes didn’t taste like anything. We wouldn’t recommend getting them. Overall The staff was nice and very helpful. The place seemed to be full of regulars that really enjoy the food. But In the end, the food was ok at best. Our suggestion is that you stick to the ribs cause the sides were tasteless. 2.5 stars would be a fair assessment but we’re really just hoping we came on a bad day… Sorry Scottie’s… we really wanted to love you :(

I’m going to have to come back here for lunch and here’s why… while the flavor is there, the moisty is not. I cam here for dinner, and I suspect that, not being crowded on a Saturday night, they didn’t have much turnover in terms of the food, so what we got had been sitting around in the warmer for a while. When the brisket was sliced, it lasted about 5 minutes before becoming dried out… a more freshly smoked side of brisket wouldn’t have become dessicated like that. Same with the pulled pork. The St. Louis ribs were pretty good. Collard greens were good, not salty. The beans had good flavor, but could have been more tender. Mashed potatoes were tasty. Sweet tea could have been sweeter, but I’m just glad they had sweet tea. Nice selection of sauces too. Great service… the guys working tonight were really friendly… even offering up a sample of their«Brunswick Stew»(which btw was pretty darn good). Not wowwing, but again, if I got some fresh ‘que it might turn the tide. But for now, it ranks pretty average.

QOMG!(Yes, I’m starting a new trend here. ZOMG is so 2000-late…) While eating my way through Orange County, I have come to the sudden realization that everything up this point in my barbecue adventure has been a sham, a mere attempt at attaining oneness with that which is barbecue. Sure, the bigger restaurants and chains have some decent ‘cue. However, Scottie’s is the first place I’ve tried(locally) that has really impressed me with more traditional American barbecue. Ribs? Juicy and flavorful. Brisket? Good and moist. Andouille sausage? Very tasty with a spicy kick to it. Roasted chicken? Fall-off-the-bone tender. Pulled pork? Porky and oh-so-good. Collard greens? Really good if you like greens; some of the best I’ve tried. Smoky beans? Smoky and beany; what more could you want? Mac ‘n’ cheese? If my li’l girl eats it up, it’s good enough for me! Cornbread? Not too bad, but butter makes it better. Service? Good if not great; they’re always helpful and open to questions. I’ve already eaten here at least three times and the quality of the food has been consistent thus far. Consistency is always a good indicator of a good restaurant(at least in my book). Scottie’s has yet to fail me. If you’re looking for some good barbecue in Orange County, Scottie’s Smokehouse is THE place to go as far as I’m concerned. Period. End of story. If you disagree, you’re just plain wrong! And, if you continue to disagree with me, prove me wrong by bringing me some better ‘cue. Please?

It was 7:45pm on a Saturday Night with 3 starving college students… Friend: I’m really hungry!!! Lets go get something meaty and juicy! Steak Steak Steak? Me: Eh, not really feeling steak Friend: Ok fine, you choose then, just as long as its good 30 minutes later, after much deliberation, mostly because she was hell bent on getting her steak!!! We were on the road when suddenly… Friend #2: Oh man its 8:20, what if we get there and its closed or even worse, what if its shitty food because its the«leftovers» from the day Me: We’ll be fine, but in the back of my mind I was starting to worry Its 8:40 when we arrive at Scotties All three: Wow that’s definitely A-Hole-In-The-Wall!!! So we reluctantly open the door, half expecting them to glare us down and tell us to leave. On the contrary, they were extremely pleasant and a blast to chat with. After glancing over the menu I settled on Combo A(2 ribs, brisket, andouille sausage, 2 sides and a drink) for about $ 14 after taxes. The tenderness of the ribs were perfect, the meat practically fell off the bone with just a simple twist. The flavors were spot on, definitely moist and juicy so my friend was extremely satisfied. The brisket was also really good, however it would have been out of this world if it had been warmer. As for the sausage, you really cant go wrong with a plateful of andouille sausage. Finally, the sides I got were the mac & cheese and the beans. They both had a great balance of flavors and textures that complimented the meat very well. The icing on the cake was when Scottie offered to make a fresh batch of mac & cheese for my friend because I had gotten the last portion. Not only did he take the time out to make a fresh batch he gave me an extra side of mac & cheese free of charge, NOW that’s what i call A+ service. Its about damn time I found a decent BBQ joint in this area, even if I have to travel 20 minutes to get there!

I had dinner at Scotty’s today. Orange County has never been known for it’s BBQ. I recently had the best BBQ at a place called Bludso’s(Compton) Had I not eaten at Bludso’s, my review may have been better. But, Bludso’s is my standard now. I called down to Scotty’s and told the person that I had never been there before. He told me his specialty was p. pork. I ordered the Combo Dinner A(Brisket, Ribs and Sausage). The meal came with beans and mac n cheese. The sausage was pretty good. I will post the menu. My brisket was not warm and kinda thick, hard and did not melt in my mouth like it does at Bludso’s. Same with the rib. But the rib was a bit better. The mac n cheese was ok. The price was good at about 13. Being an OC native, I hate to not give this place a better critique. There are not many good bbq places in the OC, so this may be a better one. I will return and try the pulled pork.
