Shoney’s

When I just can’t imagine judging the food by the fact that the hostess was talking to her boyfriend. This place is absolutely fabulous. We got here on a Sunday right in between Sunday breakfast and Sunday brunch so now I’m brunch… they have a little bit of breakfast and a bunch of lunch that is wonderful. I got some real cooks cook it here.
Liver pudding, fatback, two eggs anyway you want, four different kinds of meats, scrambled eggs, link sausage and bacon, fresh sautéed mushrooms, buckwheat cakes, fresh biscuits, French toast, cheese grits, regular grits, gravy with sausage in it, right before noon it changed over to brunch and they left some of the breakfast but continued on with fried chicken and roasted chicken and all sorts of vegetables salad desserts. We loved it.

This restaurant was awful. I walked in with my family and the hostess was talking to some boy instead of seating us. We waited 5 minutes for her to finish talking and seat us but she was so worried about that boy that she didn’t even ask for the number of guests in our party. We got to a table and it was dirty with crumbs so we asked if we could move and she said yeah go sit on the porch. She did not direct us to the porch or anything we had to do it ourselves. Then we waited 10 minutes for a waiter or waitress. Nobody ever came and so we checked out the buffet ourselves. Food was spilling from one bucket to the other. It looked like it had not been cleaned for days. We decided to leave and then on our way out we told a man that was cooking on the grill that this restaurant will lose customers because of this awful service displayed by the hostess, he said he knows but he cannot say anything BECAUSE SHE IS HIS BOSS. This restaurant had horrible service, I loves shoneys but this should not be called shoneys because it is a disgrace to all shoneys.
