You might think of this joint as fast food, but it isn’t corporate junk food. They turn out some rare(pardon the pun) meats like bison burgers and they smoke other meat like brisket daily. The brisket sandwich was excellent. The pretzel bun definitely doesn’t suffer from LBD(lower bun disintegration!) on any of the sandwiches. I love the freshly cut double fried fries… The proprietor is so genuine and a real guy — not«have a nice day» fake friendly. Consider me a regular, I love it.

The other day I really wanted a Burger so my wife and I stopped in. The owner Alex helped us out at the counter. I decided to ask Alex for a recommendation. He told us to try the Brisket Burger. We ordered two. The order took about 5 or 10 minutes and when it was brought out to our table I was so happy! The burger looked and tasted amazing. I ate the whole thing. I can’t remember the last time I was that stuffed after eating. Overall it was great and the staff was nice. Thanks for a great lunch!

I was in a BBQ mood and Unilocal showed this location was near me. I’ve passed here a lot but never stopped here before. The interior is small and clean but does have a lived in /run down feel to it. You can smell the BBQ cooking while you wait in line. I decided on a Pit BBQ Beef sandwich to try them out. There were 6 people ahead of me in line so I expected a little bit of a wait for my food. While waiting, I looked at the various press clippings and local news personalities praise of the establishment and studied the menu for my next visit. Bottom line — it’s edible, but it didn’t have any WOW factor to it. The sandwich was served on a huge roll, perhaps to hide the few slices of beef in the roll. The sauce was… bland. No smoke, no heat, no zing… nothing to write home about. I went back a week later, and had an Italian sausage sandwich to be fair and to say I’ve eaten more than one item from the menu. The Italian sausage sandwich was reasonably priced, had reasonable portion size, and was decently spiced. Overall — this place seems hit or miss. If you’re hungry for BBQ, they come through with some items… and are a miss on others.

Ordered the pulled pork sandwich, they were out of pork. Tried the pit beef today as one reviewer suggested… Very disappointed. The bun was great, the meat was ok — seems like they used some type of rub on it, but there was NO sauce on this and no BBQ sauce lying around. Placing a «to go» order and having no sauce in the condiment section, I incorrectly assumed this sandwich would come pre sauced. Eating dry meat with a bun was nothing to write home about. The fries were soggy and loaded with grease. Luckily, I got ketchup before I left. This entire meal and a bottle of water cost me almost $ 12. Sorry, I tried the challenge and Five Guys BLOWS these guys away.

Love this place. I am an EMT and my partner and I used to drive past here all the time. I noticed them because of their smack talking signs saying they blew five guys away. I was intrigued and looked up the menu online and when I showed my partner we both agreed we had to make it there for lunch some day. When that day came we were blown away. This is not just a fast food dive joint. They make everything fresh and by hand and it shows. I have tried the chicago way burger and the brisket sandwich and both of them were amazing. The fries are all fresh cut and amazing too. I cannot stress the quality of this place, because it is as good as any sit down burger or bbq joint in the area. Another plus is the owner, Alex, is very passionate about what he does. If you give him an ear he will talk it off about his business. He will tell you anything you want to know about how it is ran and you can tell he knows his product will win you over, and it does. I plan on dragging anyone I can into Burger n Que and I don’t even live in the area, so if you live around here you have no excuse. Give them a try. They will not disappoint, unless you are a vegan… in which case bbq and burgers are just not your thing

Found this place on Unilocal and I’m very happy I did. I had the pit beef and was so happy with the plate and the service is top notch. If you’re in the area, stop in for dinner or lunch and you will be happy with everything on the menu.

Every time I drove by this place, it was always packed and I thought to myself«I really want to stop in there one of these days.» Well I finally did, and boy was it worth it. Hand made burgers on a perfectly toasted bun with hand cut fries. Perfect. And for only 5 bucks!!! Unbelievable. They even offer pretzel buns if you so choose. I can’t wait to come back and try the BBQ Brisket. This place is a gem. If you’ve driven by it a million times and never stopped in like I had, do yourself a favor and make the stop.

I’ve been on the hunt for a neighborhood burger joint with fresh-cut fries for a while now and completely forgot about this place for soo long. It’s a damn shame cause it is a great joint. Friendly people, delicious food, and FRESH-CUTFRIES!!! Awesome menu. If you can’t find something to eat here, you’re dead. I had the Bernie Burger med-rare and my fiancée had the Chicago-Style Burger Med. The owner is your cook and you can tell he’s passionate about his food. They have earned themselves a new faithful customer.

A damn good burger! I’d never been here before but my Dad recommended this place as if it were a hidden treasure. So I decided to try it. I called ahead and was told about the ¼ pound special, which is a ¼lb burger, a regular fry, and a small drink for $ 5(pop or iced tea), yes FIVEDOLLARS. Everything was delicious! Stop going to McDonald’s now, this place is better, healthier, and a great deal for the money! Yes, I’d recommend them, and yes I’ll be back.

I have heard such great things about this place, so I decided to stop and get a burger to go. I was not impressed! I thought it was going to be the best burger ever, and it was your ordinary burger but really greasy, and the wrapping was saturated. I’m sure it’s much better fresh, but all that grease made me lose my appetite.

Had the ½ lb Bernie Burger. Came cooked as I ordered it, medium-rare. Very tastly. Doesn’t charge for refills on drinks. I live over an hour away, but will stop by when I can. Looking for when they have kangaroo.

Weekday late afternoon, to go. Brisket sandwich was pretty good, although over sauced hiding the smokey flavor in the meat. Good amount of brisket. Pretzel bun held in everything well. Chicago style hotdog had a lack of communication on toppings(held the peppers instead of onions) no biggie. Charred dog was good otherwise. Fries looked like homemade cuts, but were very greasy, not much crunch. I will be back to try the burgers for sure. The convienance of the place is great and I always like supporting the local guys. Just was hoping for a bit more from this particular meal.

Upon arrival, first things first, appearance is alot. Not the most appealing place in or out. The soda machine was in pretty bad shape, half broken, maybe two flavors available from the six taps. Most of the labels were missing, some covered in duct tape. It looked dirty and sticky. So, I skipped the soda. Found this place on Unilocal, and figured I try on a review of the must have skirt steak sandwich. No longer on the menu, for the menu has changed but they did not update the online menu that you can get to on their Unilocal page. I ordered the beef brisket sandwich, which was bland, definitely had better. Sauce comes on it, should be on the side, so you can taste the smoky goodness of the meat, which was hard to tell if it was smoky goodness or not. Comes with coleslaw, fries, and a pickle. Was on my lunch break so got it to go. Open the bag at my destination(work), no fries! Seriously ruined my lunch, because I had no time to go back. Called them to let them know this, the guy who answered the phone(thinking it was the owner) told me I could come back and get them, could not do that, my lunch break was over. So he proceeded to tell me that next time I come in I could get extra fries, why would I want more fries than I could eat next time(pointless they would end up in the trash), then he arrogantly went on that the fries are free as a courtesy to the costumers, three years ago when he started this, the sandwich costed the same price without fries. So how can he do anything else about this when they are free. He so rudely told me. Nothing is free, but according to him the fries are, so why aren’t people lined up out the door for the free fries, oh yea, they aren’t free. The cost is bundled into the $ 8.00 sandwich. The sign doesn’t say order a sandwich and get free fries, it says included with the sandwich. Then he offered a free soda next visit, no thanks, not from that standing health code violation. So over all they lost a first time costumer. Would not recommend to anyone or would I go back to this place. Customer service and cleanliness are what keeps people coming back, and keeps the doors open. So in my book they struck out multiple times on one visit.

Finding a place with local character can be hard in places like Orland Park. I’ll give a place like Burger’n Que stars EVERYTIME for being one of a kind. I like knowing that the money keeping this place alive is coming out of the pocket of the guy at the grill. Think local, shop local, eat local. Because why review a place in the Chicago burbs that, if all goes right, will be identical to your review of the same chain in Anysprawlburb, USA? It helps when the food is pretty damn good. OK, I’ve never had a burger, but stick to the ‘Que side of the menu. And I keep coming back for one thing, something I’ve never found on another menu in Chicagoland, a sandwich that is just plain ol’ delicious… the«Spiedie» spit-roasted steak. Also dig the pit beef, the«Pride of Baltimore»… pretty damn good. And I’ve been to Balto. These guys know what they’re talking about. Yay for Burger ‘n Que. Corporate Food Still Sucks!

After reading the excellent reviews on this place I’m thinking maybe I just ordered the wrong thing? Went here after seeing the sign out front that says«Our burgers blow 5 Guys away». That’s a hefty statement as I find 5 Guys to be one of the best burgers around. I ordered a plain hamburger and perhaps that was my first mistake. The beef was nothing exciting, definitely not very juicy, and the bun was unremarkable. My husband ordered a bacon cheeseburger and while he enjoyed it, he didn’t think it was worth the price. We also ordered some fries and onion straws… these were both excellent and I have no complaints here. The service was quick and friendly. So overall we were underwhelmed and we probably won’t return. Not enough bang for your buck in my opinion.

Tucked next to a gas station off of Wolf Road is this hidden gem. Look for the large signs to guide you. Are they typically out of things we try to order? Yes. Is their fountain pop machine broken? You bet. Is it slightly dirty and kind of cold? Uh huh. Are they worried about their image even after being showcased on The Hungry Hound and 190 North? Not at all. It’s refreshing really. I ordered the charred bacon cheeseburger and I can’t get it out of my head. The bun was squishy, yet supportive; the burger was juicy and flavorful; and the Merkts cheddar cheese spread combined with the juice from the burger is divine. The fries were perfectly crispy and salty; I tried to eat as many as I could before my stomach protested from fullness. They are short on space and aren’t too concerned about keeping an accurate menu, but I suppose they can get away with that since the burgers are so fab.

I think its a little pricey. but they put out some really delicious burgers. one thing to pay attention to is. If you look on the wall behind the cash register. You“ll notice a seperate special menu. and very often, they will cook up wild game burgers. like, Elk, Wild Boar, and even Kangaroo. A must try at least once!

Gave 4 stars instead of 5 because a couple times I drove by to curb my craving for their delicious beef brisket, and they were closed. BUT, the rest is great. I live right by there, and have driven right past there hundreds of times without thinking to go in until my beef loving boyfriend felt like stopping by. Very clean, staff is really great and friendly. Food takes a little time, and by little, I mean this ain’t no McDonalds, OK? So if you can’t wait a few minutes for your order, go pay for the drive-through and be severely disappointed that you missed out on this gem. I ordered the Beef brisket, and for the next two weeks, couldn’t stop craving it. I gave in and had to have another one. It’s on the pretzel bun, and if I had that as my last meal, sure I’d be thinking, «there’s so many things I could be eating right now as my last bite of food, but this is damn good!» You can call in an order too, which is good if you are unsure if they are open. Burger-N-Que has got me hooked-N-happily-fat now!

Wow, I have been driving by this place for a good year now and I just assumed it was another failure waiting to happen. Sorry owners but I have seen several business there that did not make it. However you have set yourself apart from the others and it looks like you will be around for a while. Which is good because I plan on coming back here several more times. The burgers are«REAL» burgers made the way you want. That’s right sometimes I want a burger that is med. rare & they oblige. I thought I hit the mother lode of french fries at 5 guys Burgers but this place has them beat. Skin on fries & lots of them. I went with a traditional burger but next time I’m going wild game.

4.5 stars only because of the«OK» fries to accompany such an amazingly fresh burger. This burger is FRESH and HAND packed and then GRILLED on a FIRE — non of that greasy hot-top for this baby. Great find in the south-side — one of my top 3 burgers for sure.
