Went in to Barnie’s and for some food and a coffee. only 1 item available on the menu. Wait what? How the hell are you out of everything except 1 item?!? No I don’t want a turkey sandwich with my coffee. Cashier was pretty rude about the absence of food items. Won’t be back.

Barnie’s CoffeeKitchen is a local coffee shop that does a simple a thing well: Making good coffee in an enjoyable/comfortable environment. Their coffee is fair trade sourced, organic, and certified by the rain forest alliance. Yup, they care about how their products affect the environment and the people that bring it to you. Most consumers don’t think about this sort of thing, but Barnie’s proudly shares that they do. Thumbs up on that! Normally, they carry small lot coffees and can make it, from what I can tell, anyway you could want it. I have a few roasts that I prefer as a pour over. They have skim, soy and almond milk too!(bonus points on having almond milk). The downtown location for me is more a quick stop for a good cup of coffee. However, their Winterpark location is more inviting to hang around, enjoy the surrounding and even grab some delicious food to enjoy! Tl;dr: Good coffee concept. Try it at least once if you haven’t already.

This Barnie’s shop is one of three spread around Orlando. It’s location on Orange in the center of Downtown makes it ideal for the working crowd. If you find yourself hitting that 3:00 wall during the workday, skip the Starbucks and head here instead. Barnie’s is located just off CityArts Factory. It’s a small and quiet establishment with a very soothing vibe. Perfect for unwinding with a cup o’ joe. They serve a variety of delicious coffee beverages. If you don’t mind waiting a little longer for your caffeine fix, order a pourover. The barista brews the coffee in a little different way when you order it like this — they literally pour the hot water over the coffee grounds. It really allows the ground beans to bloom and show their full flavor. So worth it if you can wait the few extra minutes. Pro tip: The serve an amazing brew called Santa’s White Christmas. As the name suggests, it is their signature holiday blend. But it’s so popular they actually have it available for your enjoyment all year. This blend is creamy, nutty and oh so comforting. Order it as a pourover and sip all your troubles away.

So glad to have a place like Barnie’s downtown. Everything else is garbage compared to them. I’m glad to have a couple friendly faces every day who always make my coffee to perfection. They actually care about what they are serving & they know their customers! I always get something good and sometimes even just have them«surprise me» with their best pick. My favorite is the pour over(of whichever variety Brett & Luke choose) Their other drinks are great too! Food world-class as well. Never thought I’d say that from a little coffee shop… My favorite is the Caprese sandwich. Can’t not mention pastries/muffins/deserts either, which were good before, but now come from Blue Bird and always look so delicious. You should definitely come here — it’s not Starbucks — which is a GREAT thing. It’s actually really good coffee served by really awesome people!

Best coffee in the downtown area. The quintessential café experience. From the perfect cappuccini to the exquisite staff, at this particular Barney’s location, you can’t go wrong!

Great stop for coffee and espresso drinks! Really fantastic staff, too. Coffee art on the walls and is alongside a nice art gallery! Love this place. I stop there twice a day. I’ve boasted about this place to friends and usually bring people with me. A good place for meetings and in a great location. I can’t say enough good things about this location. MUCH better than that other chain coffee shop!

Love love love Barnie’s CoffeeKitchen! Their baristas are super friendly and accommodating, and their coffee is ONPOINT! They roast their own coffee, and you can definitely taste the difference. I also love that their baristas are highly trained and know how to make yummy AND amazing looking lattes! And I love that Barnie’s is locally owned too! It’s the best in service and in tastiness in Orlando!

I went to lunch here one day while I was working in Downtown Orlando. The atmosphere and vibe is very nice, a great place to come to bring a friend and chat or bring your laptop and get some work done or even to read a nice book. The food is pretty decent, I remember getting a sandwich and coffee which is what you’d expect out of a higher end café. However the reason why I give this a 2 star is because of the very mediocre service. I remember coming in around lunch time but there was surprisingly no wait time or line at the register. The staff member working at the register did not even give me the time to be acknowledged despite several times making eye contact and instead continued to work on other things such as sweeping and checking dishes. It took a whole 15 minutes until another staff member came to see me(presumably off of a break), and did not even acknowledge that I had to wait for such a long time before even being asked what I’d like to order. Despite this it is a decent café with good food, however I just didn’t feel welcomed by the staff and don’t feel the incentive to return or try other places instead. Perhaps I’ll try again someday when there is a better staff.

I just started working about a minute away from this location. I stopped in for the first time the other afternoon with my boyfriend for a coffee and a snack and the whole experience was a bit of a let down. There was only one item available on the menu to be ordered(how?!), both of our drinks were made incorrectly, it took strangely long for our drinks to be made when the place was rather slow, and the staff seemed unhappy. Bummer.

Coffee was pretty meh. It was over-roasted and pulled too long. But it was fine. But mostly the thing that stood out to me was that the staff were really unfriendly. Basically this was a totally *shrug* coffee shop.

It was closed, shame for a coffee shop downtown on a weekday before 5 pm, not much other choices downtown besides the giant conglomerate store. Liked the reviews I read.

Lackluster but coffee is ok. Breakfast was somewhat bland and certain bites were just plain funky which is prob cuz it is microwaved. It is just plain overpriced which is why they aren’t busy. I wouldn’t go again.

I have been here twice for the coffee and I have not been disappointed. Outside sitting is nice. You can sit on the main street side, or a quiet alley setting or in the back by a fountain of water. This has become a weekly place for me to meet with other coffee lovers in the morning and enjoy their fresh brew. I especially like their Americano. Maybe 5 stars after I taste their food.

I’m in town from Boston for a conference, came in a few days early to hang with family and had to keep myself busy today because they’re at work. Jumped on Unilocal to find a good coffee spot and glad I found this place. I say outside, you Florida people are nuts always being in AC. It was great to be able to sit outside and enjoy a great cup of coffee. I had the featured Kona blend pour over and the breakfast quiche. Everything was delicious. I’d definitely come back.

I’ve had several meetings here lately — including a group of nine where they were able to accommodate us despite having such a small footprint! — and have gained an even stronger appreciation for the Turkish latte, which is amazing. The food selection is small, but the pastries are excellent. Friendly staff and a nice spot to meet up or to just people-watch.

I was recently invited to attend a very cool local event. The Unilocal Elite coordinated an evening at CityArts Factory, hosted by Barnie’s Coffee Kitchen. Various selections of coffees and teas were available to sample. A wine and beer station was also available. Attendees were given a demonstration at Barnie’s pour-over station featuring some of their finest coffees. We were also introduced to the wildly popular brewsticks by Barnie’s. If you haven’t experienced this compact, travel friendly option, you need to pick up a sample! Barnie’s had to offer their Santa’s White Christmas at this event. It is truly one of the most popular flavors and I can attest that several of my friends are huge fans. But, if you only think of Barnie’s as a coffee shop, you’d only be partially correct. Along with fine coffee and tea products, Barnie’s has an excellent menu available at it’s Winter Park location, and Chef Camilo Velasco showed off some of his creations at the Unilocal Elite event in Barnie’s CityArts location. Some of the delicious items we sampled were Thai quinoa salad, butternut squash soup shooters, herbed goat cheese with tomato jam crostini, caprese bruschetta, ham and brie crostini with fig jam, and smoked salmon spread on crostini with dill and preserved lemon. The CityArts Factory gallery is a wonderful venue to share space with Barnie’s Coffee Kitchen in downtown Orlando. If you haven’t stopped in, do so and grab a drink or even lunch, while you stroll around the gallery.

I went here once for the recent Unilocal elite event(my girlfriend is elite), and once more as a regular patron, so I think I have a good idea of this place. The Unilocal event was great. Free food, booze, and coffee is hard to equate to a great night. The people were really cool, and knowledgeable about the various products, and were eager to share their knowledge. I went a couple weeks later for a cappuccino and a study break, even though it’s out of the way. The coffee is was fantastic. Perfectly steamed soy combined with a properly pulled shot of espresso is the definition of happy. A few criticisms: The parking is annoying, which I know isn’t the fault of the business, hence they didn’t lose stars. Also, the WiFi is not accessible in the back of the café(which I thought was weird since it’s not the big of a place) annoying, but not a deal breaker. Over all, this is a great alternative to the big coffee shops that dot the landscape. The snacks are also fantastic. Cheers! :)

I went here for the first time to attend the Unilocal Elite event the other night. I already reviewed the event, so now I’ll touch on Barnie’s specifically. How have I not known this was there? I freakin’ live downtown! OK, Thornton Park. But still! I remember when I moved to the Orlando area 12 years ago, working on Park Ave and frequenting the old Barnie’s location there. It was bland, generic and corporate feeling. No longer is this true. The total rebranding is amazing. I visited the revitalized Park Ave location over a year ago. And now I’m super stoked the downtown Orlando location is here(still can’t believe I had no idea!) It shares a space with City Art Works, which is FANTASTIC. It makes so much sense. Grab a coffee and browse art at your leisure. The coffee is good. I’m no snob. I just love the location and décor. I will go back another time — not an elite event — and sample more of the coffees. This place is a great alternative to Starpukes.

I was afforded the opportunity to visit Barnies Coffee Kitchen and Im really glad that I was. This was my first time visiting, but will more than likely not be my last. They are not your typical coffee spot that sell limited coffee inspired drinks and warmed up pastries. Barnies offers a nice selection of coffee flavors and various methods in which the coffee is brewed to ensure that you receive your perfect cup. I tried«Santa’s White Christmas» and it was extremely good! Barnies also offers a wide menu of high quality food options, as they are an actual Café and not just a coffee shop. The venue is small and charming, decorated with unique paintings where the artist used actual coffee to create the pictures. I enjoyed my time there and would suggest Barnies Coffee Kitchen for a unique dining experience.
