Name Change Alert: Now known as Puur… or some strange spelling like that. This place is convenient offering options such as rice bowls, build your own salad, soups, sandwiches and hot entrees. There is also a coffee/pastry area. And newly added is the free style coke machine — so exciting! The food is decent but overpriced. I suppose you pay for convenience, right? For those who work in the downtown area Puur(???) provides a quick lunch right on the corner or Church and Orange. If you aren’t already in the downtown area for lunch though, I’d say you have lots of better options to choose from. Ok — someone pointed out the new name: Simply Purr. Hope that helps!

The guy behind the counter acted as if I were interrupting his day by asking for a sandwich. I asked if I could substitute a small salad for the soup to go with my half café sandwich. He smiled and said, «yes», as he placed my sandwich in front of the soup containers, then looked up and said, «you have to pay full price for both, $ 6.95 for the sandwich and 4.95 for the salad», then he looked beyond me and said«next». Eventually another guy came to pour my soup. I had a frequent buyer card and was with a friend who had a chicken Caesar salad. The card says that if you buy 9 entrees over $ 5, you get the next one free. So I think I have two entrees and hand the girl behind the corner my card, which she punches once. I questioned it, as my total bill was $ 17 for my entrée and my friend’s and two bottles of water, she looked at me and pointed to my friend’s chicken Caesar salad and said” that’s only $ 4.95″. OK. The food is WAY over priced and the service is SNOTTY at best, but full on RUDE the rest of the time. Café Ritazza: Keep your card, I’m never coming back here.

I work in the Sun Trust building, and the only time I go here is when I’m hungry and it’s raining. I feel like the food is poor quality(and a small quantity) for the prices they charge. The atmosphere and food remind me of an expensive college dining hall. To make it worse, the prep folks can be creepy sometimes and the cashiers seem to be pretty aloof. It wins points for convenience(I don’t have to go outside to get there), but there are several options nearby that give a lot more bang for my buck.

Great atmosphere for a quick breakfast or lunch stop. Walking distance from my hubby’s office and the breakfast sandwiches were big and good. We split a sandwich. FREE Wi-Fi is a plus too!

Great place to stop for a bite to eat while Downtown. Free Wi-Fi! Score! I worked for a short time in Downtown Orlando and it was awesome heading out to lunch sometimes. However, it would get a little frustrating when looking for healthy options or when trying to same money. This location catered to both of those frustrations. They have tons of healthy options which is a great break from fried, fast food. They have sandwiches, grilled options and fruit and veggies! Also, there is a ton of seating inside — more of an upscale cafeteria, so if you have friends eating here and you brought your lunch, you can still eat with them! There is also a coffee and bakery section =) I would hit this up for a nice sugar rush around 3pm from time to time, pretty good cupcakes !! The location of this place is perfect, on the corner of Orange and Church, easy to run in and out of if in a hurry. Or if you want to work from here all day, like I said, the WiFi is free — got to LOVE that.

I really, really want to love Caffe Ritazza, but they just won’t let me. I was drawn in by the cafeteria chic look to the exterior and interior. It kind of reminded me of a great café near Times Square, so I foolishly expected(hoped?) I would leave with a similar dining experience. No such luck. The café is set up as stations, with a separate line each for salads, soup, sandwiches, Asian, and an adobo grill specializing in tacos, burritos, and the like. There is also a station devoted solely to coffee. Initially I loved the concept that so many different types of food were represented, but unfortunately the variety seems to prevent Caffe Ritazza from doing any one very well. On my first trip, I tried the roasted turkey breast on whole grain bread and a cup of soup. The bread was fantastic, but the rest of the sandwich and the soup were pretty blah. Also, even though the menu(both in the café and online) states that all of their sandwiches come with their famous housemade chips, I was pointed to a Baked Lay’s rack when I inquired where the chips were. Famous indeed. The second trip was even worse. I tried a burrito from the adobo grill, and I honestly could not eat the entire thing. It was the very definition of tasteless. The chips were cold and tasteless as well. On top of it all, the café serves only bottled drinks(a wide variety of them) out of an open refrigerated case, which means they’re actually room temperature instead of cold. Invest in a fountain, people! The service from the chefs is fine, although both times I had to wait an unusually long amount of time to check out at the cash register with food in hand. If you go, I hope you have better luck than I did at Caffe Ritazza.

Caffe Ritazza is a tasty place to enjoy a light snack or meal, the perfect place to head for a filling and budget-friendly lunch. Located in downtown Orlando, the upscale café environment provides for a nice experience and an enjoyable meal. They feature a fresh and healthy salad bar, lots of options for coffee, and also lots of mexican specialties. While it is an ideal lunch destination(apparently others recognize that too), this place can get pretty darn crowded during the week from all the businessmen in the area on their lunch breaks.

Ritazza is Italian for Starbucks and fits in nicely with the downtown crowd. The one thing that’s nice is that general lunch hours aside, the place is usually pretty empty, the coffee is good, and the wifi is free, three things you wouldn’t be able to get at the Starbucks down the block. There is also a menu of sandwiches and salads, but I’ve been pretty much sticking to the mochas, working on my laptop. It’s the place to go where you are waiting for or in between meetings downtown. Ciao!

If their slogan, «Great Taste in Every Sense,» doesn’t engage you, their floor plan and style will. An upscale cafeteria-like eatery, Caffe Ritazza caters to those who live and work downtown with its convenient location on the corner of Orange Ave. and Church St. Offering a salad bar, a coffee bar, the Adobe(Mexican), a deli, and the Chef’s Oven with features like Crab Cakes and Turkey Breast Mignon. So if you are venturing out for lunch with a group, it’s a terrific choice if you can’t quite make up your minds.

I’d avoided this big shiny café, tucked beneath the Suntrust building, largely because the sign looked like something you’d find in an airport food court. Au Bön Pain, anyone? Yesterday’s looming storm clouds blocking my walk home, however, put me in a less choosy mood. As expected, the interior felt like a food court. Big and bright, counters spread out all over the place. In the eery quiet of a lunch joint at 3PM, only the echoing smooth jazz and the stares of a few employees greeted me. A coffee house it is not. Anyway. I can’t really fault the place beyond that; the Americano was quite good, though it’s served in a 12oz paper cup, a la Starbucks, so I asked it be partially filled to avoid watering down the espresso. The brownie was flipping giant, and respectable. There are sandwiches, and the other lines lead to burritos and other food options. Free wi-fi, acording to the Weekly’s review. I wasn’t a huge fan of the atmosphere, but must admit the place has a nice view of Church St. and Orange.
