A fairly good deal to be at a theme park hotel. Lunch and bfast for 3 adults and one kid ran around $ 35 with our pass holder discount. There are four hot stations and a great salad bar. There are also ice creams, icees and snacks. You are able to eat healthy or splurge on pizza. It’s good enough that I don’t mind eating at the hotel after leaving the park.

I had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green/wax beans and carrots. Both of my kids got the roast pork. FRESH, HUGE portions, DELICIOUS and AFFORDABLE. That sums up the review. This is real home cooked food served fresh. I know you think I’m crazy because it’s a resort. All three meals and drinks were less than $ 40. You read it right three home cooked, huge, tasty and fresh meals for under $ 40 at Universal Studios. Don’t snub this place. It is an amazing value for dinner. We will have breakfast there tomorrow. Lots of choices, clean neat organized. You will be happy there. I’m glad my kids wanted a late dinner at the hotel. Otherwise, we would have completely overlooked this place. By the way, this also beats any sit down meal I’ve had at the other larger resort nearby. Good job Universal Studios, a big congratulations on this restaurant. Put a few of these in the park and I’ll be a regular here…

For a Universal Studios Resort cafeteria style food, I had expected better breakfast. You basically choose the menu item and section you want to grab your food from, pay, and self seating in the provided area. My husband got fluffy pancakes with pro sausages on the side. I got french toast with bacon. We both had a side of breakfast potatoes. From the looks of it, the food looked decent, but when we started eating our food, the pancakes and french toast were lukewarm and the breakfast potatoes were rock hard, as if these were make hours ago and nver have been replenished with new ones. The pork sausages were okay, I had to eat them with the maple syrup because it was a bit dry. Dare I say that the bacon was probably the best cooked, but who can mess up bacon??? That takes a different type of human! I was pretty disappointed with our breakfast. You’d expect that for customers paying a lot of money per night to stay here, the food should be kept warm, fresh, and edibme. Needless to say, of our 7 night 8 day stay, we never returned back to the diner because there’s much better food outside the resort(even the overpriced foods at the theme parks were better)! The reason of 2⁄5 is because we ate SOME of our food(maybe because we were hungry) and the bacon was the savior of the meal. Will we be back? We haven’t tried and probably won’t till we feel like there really is no other alternative for food…

details. . Dinner for 3 on a Tuesday night around 8−9pm. . We got a burger, chicken tenders, a flatbread & sides of mac and cheese. prOs. . The service is quick & efficient. . There is a large variety of options to choose from. . To be honest, Bayliner should only get 2 stars, but I’m giving them a bonus star for the décor. cOns. . The food is very mediocre(at best). . The restaurant is set up as a cafeteria style dining experience which makes it feel like a school or hospital. . For the quality of food, it was way more pricey then it was worth.

Food is super overpriced, not fresh, warm/cold. The Churrasco here was gross. The chimichurri sauce has a creamy texture and the steak was an almost grey color. Most things I order here I have to microwave after getting it. Overall just below average. I suggest you order take out/dine out and save your money & taste buds.

We stayed in Cabana Bay recently and ate in Bayliner Diner a few times. The food was okay but not the best ever, it is more of a canteen style though it is cheap which is good. I would recommend the pizzas, cheesecake and frozen yogurt if you do try it out.

Cafeteria style breakfast lunch or dinner with the 1950s retro feel. Prices are high as expected at Orlando resorts. Food quality OK

Just eh, but its a cafeteria so I didnt expect much. Chicken tenders and fries are good, can’t really mess that up and you actually get a lot for the $ 9 you’re paying. Family member had a hotdog and hated it. Breakfast was old potatoes, overcooked bacon…$ 30 later we were very, very disappointed. All just too expensive and not good enough. After this, kind of refused to eat at the hotel when city walk is just a bus ride away.

Food is average. The music and scenery brings back memories. I wish the prices were more affordable considering the type of cuisine. Nonetheless, I would recommend eating here for a casual quick meal.

Burgers are out of this world! And the service is exceptional. I’m gluten free and I walked into this food hall style diner with low expectations. We asked about gluten free options and were immediately introduced to one of the chefs, Benny. He went out of his way to take care of me, explaining all the options and how the food was prepared to avoid cross contamination. He personally made my meal and it was sensational. The food and Chef Benny make this place a gluten-free heaven!

My family didn’t love the Bayliner Diner. This is a cafeteria style eatery in Cabana Bay Resort. We only ate breakfast here, choosing to eat in the parks for other meals. I found the waffles and pancakes overly dense. Be sure to pick up regular silverware at the cashier– you are not getting the waffles cut with a plastic knife. Our kids had to pick them up to eat them. The pancakes were similar. I had the biscuit and gravy one day. It’s inexpensive but very odd. My first impression was«minty fresh» which probably should not be assiociated with gravy. On a good note, the décor is period for the hotel and giant screens run old commercials which was highly entertaining for my family. The staff really helped me out with an awkward situation today and is to be commended. Ask for your coffee cup at the register!

My family loved the Cabana Bay Beach Resort. The FOOD, however, was BAD. At the end of day one, with three failed meals, one at the bowling alley and two at the Bayliner Diner, we never ate again at the hotel. You can’t make food this bad, unless you don’t care about it or the people eating it. Everything except the oatmeal was bad. My 7 year-old said of the chicken fingers«they don’t look right, and they don’t smell right!» When I took a look myself, I agreed. Other things we ate that were poor to awful: Mac N Cheese — bad Hamburger — mediocre Pizza — bad Pancakes — OK Eggs, bacon and potato breakfast — bad Talking with another hotel guest, he said with frustration«how do you mess up a hotdog?!» It’s no wonder the eating area was less than half-full each of the three days we were there. After the food experience, we wouldn’t buy anything at the hotel except the Starbucks. Their line was always long, but at least the food was predictable and edible. 5 stars for the resort. 1 star for the food. Loew’s needs to get their vendors into shape — in the days of Unilocal and Google+, a business can’t serve overpriced dreck and expect to get away with it for very long.

Cafeteria food that’s pretty good, not overpriced, and with lots of options. I was especially impressed with the breakfast offerings because that’s mostly what I ate here. SO much fresh fruit and lots of grab-and-go things that you can take with you into the parks. The diner atmosphere is also super cute, and the whole place is very clean and has lots of seating available. They also sell chilled bottles of wine that you can have with dinner or take up to your room. Beer too! Whatever you want, they have it. And even when it’s busy it’s super quick to get in and out of here.

Was here for a weekend«stay-cation» with the family. There’s not a whole lot of restaurants on site. Think of the Bayliner Café like the food court in your local mall. You have your choice of American and Spanish dishes. Cafeteria style, grab your tray, drink station and clear your own dishes. Breakfast was just okay. Waffles tasted rubbery, the bacon, egg & cheese croissant was pretty good and the oatmeal was very watery. The person servicing us was not too friendly. Other options included dry cereal, muffins, fruit station. For dinner we had the rotisserie chicken with rice and vegetables. This was actually really good and juicy! nas we were finishing our meal, we heard the table next to us complain as to how Dry their chicken was. Must be the«luck of the draw»

We had a good breakfast here. Nothing special but it was convenient, reasonably priced, and good food. We had lunch, but I suspect the other meals are ok as well. We loved the hotel and this was a part of it that made it great overall.

We ate here twice during our stay at the Cabana Bay Beach Resort(1÷23−1÷25). Both times were for breakfast, although we did check things out during lunch and dinner one time each. As others have said, this place isn’t a diner where someone will come over to take your order. It’s run cafeteria style with about 4 stations for hot food, an area for fruit/salad and a small cereal selection. They also have snack areas at each end as well as some items right before check-out, including a few gluten free items and wine. Breakfast items range from sandwiches, flatbreads, pastries to made to order omelettes, pancakes and waffles. We tried the breakfast flatbread and omelette(both come with breakfast potatoes). The flatbread was alright but tasted like it was made with boxed eggs. The omelette was the best thing we had due to many factors. First, the egg tastes like real eggs and then the fact that you can customize it is great. You can also ordered additional sides of sausage, bacon etc. The eating area is very cute and they really try to keep it clean. There are stations conveniently located for trash and tray/plate drop off. They also have some big screens playing fun bits of TV programs and commercials from the 50’s and 60’s. For everything the place offers, I think Universal did a great job. The food is what I expected for the most part. But I was pleasantly surprised by the omelette. On the fun side, they have s’more kits available for purchase to use at the bonfires.

Recently stayed at the Cabana Bay Beach Resort(1÷19−1÷23) during a stay at Universal Studios. In general, Universal wasn’t terribly gluten-free, and I struggled to find things I was able to eat(beyond the fruit cups and plain salads). I enjoyed a few plain salads from the salad bar here, sticking to the likely-safe/naturally GF items(carrots, hardboiled eggs, greens, corn). The salad bar gets pretty pricey if you opt for the plastic bowl instead of the to-go boxes, beware. At the grill, as well as the bowling alley upstairs(same menu), I tried a bacon cheeseburger sans the bun, didn’t eat the fries though. Then, on the last day, I found a tiny section near the cash registers of the Diner that was labeled«gluten-free»! I thought I had scoured the area each day before, and never saw it, so I guess it’s a little hard to find. There were some sandwiches, brownies, and a couple other goodies there. I grabbed a brownie with the«NOGLUTEN» sticker slapped on it, and it was delicious. So, thanks for that little section, guys! I just wish I had found it sooner in my trip.

Let us start with the fact that the décor and style of this restaurant is spot on. There are various stations where you can get different types of food depending on the mood, it is a cafeteria style restaurant, the hotel is the moderate priced one in the Universal complex. I have had breakfast and lunch here, you can get omelets in one station, breakfast sandwiches in another, and so on. I always get the omelets made to order and they come with breakfast potatoes with them. They are as delicious as you can find anywhere else, and the prices are actually great, especially considering you are in a hotel in a theme park. My dietary restrictions make it difficult for me to find food in most places, but for lunch I have never had a problem — I get the delicious black beans and white rice with a side of potatoes or the tofu stir fry and again, I have been nothing but impressed with the food and prices. They offer a Churrasco meal for the carnivores for about $ 13, with generous portions of beef, there is also a salad bar, pizza, hamburgers(and veggie burgers), and even have the classic tuna casserole that was so popular in the 50’s and 60’s keeping up with the theme. For anyone who is wondering, my daughter LOVED it! The drinks have a sensor, so you have to put your cup ON the sensor to get your beverage, and can refill about 5 mins later. You can also purchase cups that give you unlimited beverages in the hotel for length of stay. Universal did it right!

Bayliner Diner is a fun, retro themed diner located just a few steps from the lobby at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort. It is cafeteria style dining, so grab your tray, choose your item, drinks and sweets and proceed to the cash registers to pay for your meal. The stations are very diverse and there are plenty of options for all family members during all meal times. They change the menus for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner so you are always guaranteed to try something different and exciting. The Giant Screen Tv’s playing clips and commercials from the 50s and 60s close the circle to a fun and authentic experience. It is a very simple concept, pretty much self-serve dining at reasonable prices. Don’t be THAT person and pick up your tray after you’re done.
