I am sooo happy the old owners sold this business — the new ones stepped it up big time. The coffee bar is probably the best change — you can just grab a cup in the morning instead of starbucks. The food is actually consistent now — which was never the case in the 5+ years before. I’m a new regular…

Whoa, you want a satisfying omelette? Look no further! And try the Enchilada Omelette!(This thing is a doozy so come hungry!) It’s loaded with chorizo, avocado, tomatoes, green pepper, and who knows what else, oh yes, jalapenos… I’d ask for those on the side next time because they were scorchin! Not only that, but it’s topped with melted cheese, salsa, and sour cream… amazing. The feel of the place is very small town, at-homey and they play The Breakfast Club movie on a loop, which is a bit gimmicky, but enjoyable. «Don’t you forget about me… Don’t Don’t Don’t Don’t. Dooon’t you, forget about me.» Can’t help myself, that song is too catchy! Check this place out if you haven’t. It’s a nice haven after a weekend of late nights downtown.

We came here on a hot day and it was hot in the restaurant as well. We decided to tough it out since I have been wanting to give this place a try. I am a big fan of breakfast foods!!! I ordered the Beneham– eggs Benedict with smoked ham, poached eggs and hollandaise with one side item. I choose the hash browns and they were good. My meal was okay. They hollandaise was the worst I ever had and I am glad I got it on the side. My girlfriend ordered the home run with a pancake. The pancakes were DELISH! I would come here just for those. Prices are reasonable and service was fast. If I am in the area I would stop in for the yummy pancakes.

Pancakes are a surefire way to test the skills of a breakfast joint and The Breakfast Club receives an A+ for their pancakes. They are big, gooey, and perfectly cooked. I also enjoyed their home fries, sourdough toast and their eggs over hard. I love a restaurant where you get a whole coffee pot and the creams and sugar packets sit on the table waiting to be used. Our server was delightful, attentive and kind. Vintage 1980’s posters adorn the simple white walls. Wow, I can’t believe that 80’s posters are now vintage… where has time gone?! The breakfast club plays on televisions and the customers are motley. This is a perfect downtown joint for a simple but delicious brunch.

I had quite the wackadoodle experience here: Owner(man)/ Waitress(women, that seemed kinda like a tweeker), Fight in the dining room, Not sure what is was about but the Fuck word was flying from both of em’. She took a swing or kick or something and started heading out, He grabbed her and threw her into the wall, not just a shove, she bounced off and landed on the ground. Cops came. Left cash on the table and slipped out the door. As you might expect neither the service nor the food were that good, maybe a result of the huge distraction. I know she initially instigated the scrap BUT, I felt the owner should have taken the higher road and handled the extremely bad situation with more diplomacy. Plus a dude shouldn’t throw a woman around.

I go ca-razy for hash browns. Just plain bananas over them. So I was hugely disappointed when my hash browns came out cold(but crispy) so poo! BUT the Sunrise Scramble I ordered that was served on top of a divine slice of sourdough bread was just delicious. I have a hierarchy of breakfast joints and The Breakfast Club fits in nicely between Cracker Barrel and Perkins. I really like The Breakfast Club because they are totally no-nonsense and have a New Yorker diner feel to it. The service is prompt and the food is made to order. I definitely want to explore more of their menu since my friends had great things to say about the french toast!

The name is what attracted me to this spot. I had higher expectations when venturing here, but in my opinion it was just average. The service was really good. I would return here for breakfast again, but I wouldn’t make it my first choice. I have visited this restaurant three times. Two times I dined in and once I took out.

I went there for their crepes, I LOVECREPES and if you know a good place for crepes, let me know! Anyway, back to the review =) I had their veggie crêpe and it was really good. So far the best crêpe place in Orlando(other placed I tried for crêpe was First Watch which is not real crepes). Service was pretty good, I definitely wanna go back to try other things on the menu. But first I need to have more crepes from their menu. Yummy!

The Breakfast Club of Orlando? Sounds like just my kind of place. So after a few wrong turns, a couple of one way streets and a GPS that kept saying«recalculating route», I found myself in this little eatery. In all fairness, it was a crazy day in Orlando. The Aids Walk was going on, and while not full to capacity, the Breakfast Club was doing it’s best to serve the patrons that were there. Looks like a couple more servers would have done the trick. I was immediately seated in a booth and a harried server flew by only to say«Be with you in a minute, sweetie». She also called me, «darling, precious, doll» and other irritatingly familiar names all before she brought me my coffee. As for that coffee-it easily took 15 minutes to get a cup of Joe on the table(which was a minor crises to this non morning person) and when my server finally showed back up I placed my typical breakfast out order; Eggs Benedict, one pancake and some bacon. It showed up pretty quickly given all the commotion in the dining room and the only thing that was wrong was that I got a blueberry pancake instead of the plain one I wanted. Oh well, I ate around the blue spots enough to realize that it wasn’t «calorie worthy» anyway. Stick to the eggs if you go. The Eggs Benedict were quite good. They came with a slice of tomato under the ham which was a nice touch and the Hollandaise sauce while not made from scratch, was actually pretty tasty. There is really no ambiance to talk about in this place. Wooden tables, chairs and booths. There was a TV in the other room playing cartoons and the short order kitchen frames the back wall. It’s a little«gritty» like the whole place needed a good cleaning. There is metered street parking in front or a parking garage up the block that cost me only $ 6. My bill for all that food was cheap– about $ 16– and since my server disappeared I took it up to the front to pay on my own. Doubt I would go out of my way to eat here again, but if you find yourself in downtown Orlando, The Breakfast Club is a solid choice. Just don’t go on a day when there is a large event in the downtown area. You may never get waited on!

If Unilocal had a 0 stars option I would rate it just that. So after a night out last night me and my boyfriend wake up around 11 and want breakfast. I think The Breakfast Club. I had never been there before so I figured we’d give it a shot. I got take-out because neither of were going out in public material if you know what I’m saying. I got the Eggs Benedict and my bf got the Buttered Buttons with 2 eggs over easy, a sausage patty, and a side of toast. We also got a double order of home fries. As soon as I opened my Eggs B I could tell that the Hollandaise was not real. The«home fries» were just chopped up, boiled potatoes. The had no peppers or onions and no seasoning. I don’t even think they put them on the flat top or whatever it is they use back there. The eggs were not over easy. The yolks were thick and hard. The sausage patty was a burnt, dry hockey puck and they forgot our toast. Now I’m not one to complain but when the entire meal sucks ass I kind of felt like I had to let them know. Especially since I just paid $ 25 for a sack full of garbage. I called and spoke with a manager. She did admit that the Hollandaise was not real and that it came in a bag. She was not apologetic but did speak to the owner and they offered to either remake my meal or give me a $ 10 gift card. I said I didn’t want to eat there ever again so asked if she could just put a credit on my card that I just paid with and they said no. Awesome. You’d think a place called The BREAKFAST Club could at least get that part right. Nope.

The food was good and plenty, basic service, not much to expect from the staff, at the time a gentleman in a leather jacket. One thing I remember most about the place, it was so cold in there.

I have to say I was a bit surprised upon entering The Breakfast Club, as the interior reminded me of a much cleaner Denny’s. However, the menu here is much more extensive, staff much friendlier, and the food is just what I look for in breakfast food. I have had the delicious Mediterranean omelet served with home fries and the other day I enjoyed the Flamingo crêpe with a side of fruit. I thoroughly enjoyed both of these entrees, as I did the strong coffee and laid back atmosphere. They have sandwiches and other lunch items as well, which I will be trying soon. Both visits my meal came out to under $ 10, which is sometimes hard to beat for a sit down restaurant in the downtown area. I will definitely be going back to this place soon.

I have to say thanks to Gina for recommending this place. We came here for a late breakfast on the last day of our Orlando trip. It’s located in beautiful Downtown Orlando. The place was packed and extremely busy. We were seated rather promptly however. Our waitress took a long time to come over but when she did she was very apologetic. Everything from then on went smoothly. She explained to us that food might take longer than usual because of the large amount of people in the restaurant. The coffee in this place was very strong. A plus in my book. The muffins were scrumptious! Zac ordered an enchilada omelet and I ordered the California omelet. Zac’s was better than mine in all honesty. They have a lot of things on their menu and when we return I will like to try the crepes.

The service is good, the staff is friendly and if you work downtown, the location is central and within a comfortable walking distance of most of the large office buildings in the area. Breakfast is served ALLDAY which I love, but my favorite item is the Black & Bleu burger. OMG, so delicious! The Cobb Salad is great too. The menu is pretty much the same as «First Watch» with different names on the items. The old owners sold the downtown store and opened Maitland Breakfast Club. Excellent! Atmosphere … Very old-school, diner-like. Clean. You can see into the kitchen & not shudder as a result.

French toast available and AOK, however, my staple here is the BLT — the fries are pretty good too, even for Breakfast!!! However, the Floridian French Toast… yummo! This is a key place to hit up when you are feeling a little rough after a long, fun night! The overall feel is a hometown diner but with a home dining room feel. I know it sounds weird but it’s more of a dining room feeling instead of a kitchen feeling. It’s like going to a Denny’s that is SO much more cleaner, nicer and actually smells good! The staff has been friendly the handful of times I have been here. They offer sit down, catering or grab and go — which is pretty awesome when you are in a hurry! I hate eggs so I don’t eat omelettes but my friend who I used to go with would always get them and love them. They look pretty good for people who like eggs =) This is a family owned place and I love seeing the conversation with the staff and regulars, makes it feel like a more special place.

Though the name of the restaurant mimics that of the fantastic 1980s Molly Ringwald movie, they don’t have much in common except for both being great. My boyfriend and I wandered there for some quality first-meal-of-the-day food. We were seated immediately since they have quite a few tables. But I was glad to see that they were steadily busy. They have all sorts of common items and few unique ones that will have you salivating. I was as I say, «middle of the road» hungry which means I wanted more than a snack but less than a full stack of hotcakes. I decided to go with the Tropical Parfait which was uh-mazing! It was beautifully presented and tasted perfect. Consisting of freshly cut fruit, strawberry yogurt, granola and an english muffin on the side, I was in shear heaven. For $ 7 you’ll be respectably full and extremely happy. My boyfriend seemed to really enjoy his hash browns and we both got a kick out of his eggs in a nest. They even serve you the circles toasted(order it and you’ll understand what I mean!) Oh, and the service was terrific too. Now if I could just put my lipstick on while squeezing my chest together…

Dear Unilocalers: I accept the fact that I sacrificed an entire Saturday morning wandering about the streets of Downtown Orlando. But I think you’re crazy to make me write an essay telling you what I thought of my meal. You’ll see when you eat there. In the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions – what I found was that each of us had: a wealth of choices, very friendly service, and a decent breakfast. Does that answer your question? Sincerely yours, James«the Brain» H.

We tried the Breakfast Club of Orlando on a Friday around noon. It wasn’t very crowded at all, so when it took a little while to be seated, it was a bit off-putting. As we were being seated, we noticed that the room décor wasn’t very inviting either. Hunter green and mauve? Didn’t that color scheme go out with shoulder pads and leg warmers? And what was up with the shelves of ceramic knick-knacks? I felt like I was at Grandma’s. Anyway, the menu was pretty good. They offered a lot of different(and non-traditional) breakfast options. I opted for the Smothered Turkey Omelette. The omelette was pretty good, although we were a bit confused when someone(not our server) brought our food and just kept saying«FAAL» to us. We look at him confused and he said again, «FAAL.» What? «FAAL.» I then looked at the two dishes he was carrying, pointed at the omelette, and then pointed at my place setting. It wasn’t until the end of the meal when we got our check did we realize what he was saying because it was printed on there: FOWL. As in bird. As in turkey. As in my turkey omelette. Yes, apparently we were supposed to know and fully understand the restaurant’s lingo. My friend had the«GO.» Or, as us commoners might call it: «The Flamingo,» which was a name for one of the crepes they offered. The turkey omelette was good(it also had spinach and was smothered in hollandaise sauce). The crêpe wasn’t what my friend expected. It was a crêpe wrapped in an omelette shell. Odd. The service was quite lacking, too. Our server wasn’t completely focused on us(or the restaurant in general) and made rare visits to the table. We had to keep flagging down another server in the area to ask questions or to get our server. I’m sure she was thrilled by that. And, if our server hadn’t been the one to ring us up at the cash register, I’m quite certain he would have gotten a much smaller tip. But perhaps he knew that… Anyway, while the Breakfast Club’s food wasn’t bad, the atmosphere is what really completes a dining experience. I’d rather go to Mimi’s Café or First Watch for breakfast any day.

Waking up in a hotel in downtown Orlando at about 10 a.m. on a Sunday morning after a major night out on the town… the last thing you want is to get up and rush to the hotel restaurant for breakfast. So after a night out and a late morning shower and change of clothes, my beloved and I decided to take a wee ride into town from the hotel we were staying in. We were hankering for an Irish breakfast(traditional Irish cure all) but alas, the only Irish pub we knew in downtown wasn’t open. and probably wasn’t daring to open till superbowl hour either… so we wandered the streets until I espied the sign«THEBREAKFASTCLUB» down a side street from Orange Avenue. AH-HA!!! TAKEONME… TAKEMEON!!! This was our saviour. Peeked in the window and saw the place was hub a buzz with families, singles, groups of young people… AHHH…BREAKFAST!!! We were shown to a table pronto by a very happy boss lady. Our waitress arrived chirpy and asking about drinks. Coffee of course for all and cranberry juice to repair damage to the kidneys from the night before. Menu is great. All breakfast and lunch items only. Mostly breakfast items. I straight away zoomed in on the Crepes… and more specifically the Lite Crêpe… with avocado and mushroom and melted cheeses(monterey and chedder) topped with alfalfa sprouts and served with a side of celery seed dressing… this came with a side of home fries and a toasted muffin. Himself had eggs in the nest(known to me from my childhood as eggs in the window).and you know what… he was blown away. Raving about them still. And believe me, living with him for 15 years or so… to hear him talking about something hours after eating it means it was very special. They also came with a side of home fries. I’m not a fussy person but my honey is. I was looking for something light that could settle in my stomach after a major night out on the town… he was looking for something that he never got served anywhere else before and we both got that here. The celery seed dressing had us just about licking the plate it was so well paired with the crêpe. The eggs in the nest were just nicely browned and crispy on the outside and then when he cut through the yolk came streaming out, hot and runny and just absolutely perfect. Service was great and the price was great. The food was FRESH and hot. Definately next time I’m in Orlando and even if I’m staying out Disney way, I’ll be making a trip in here for breakfast. Its that freaking good! Keep up the good work guys!!! You have a winner here.

Not to be confused with John Hughes Breakfast Club, this downtown Orlando spot does exactly that, breakfast. The menu is nearly four pages and jam-packed with all of your breakfast favorites, from waffles, to eggs, to at least four different types of eggs benedict. The staff, while overworked, is generally amicable, but be prepared to have a backup choice selected, because they often run out of high-ticket ingredients. While I went, it was currently transitioning to new management, so hopefully, the staff and stock issues will be handled in the near future.
