Great spot for drinks and burgers. Fries are great! Love the outside bar space. Fun before UCF football games!

4 Stars for some surprising elements(sauces made from scratch), a pretty darn good chicken sandwich, and garlic fries that are so good you won’t mind people crossing the street to get away from your stench. You order(and pay) at a counter prior to finding a seat in the pretty big restaurant. We were shocked by how dead it was on a Saturday night, but I imagine it’s nuts on a game day or before a big event. Things I loved: — The chicken sandwich comes on buttered, toasted sourdough bread. It’s decadent, will leave your fingers dripping, and flippin’ amazing. The chicken is grilled but still moist and it comes with lettuce and tomato slices. It’s definitely a dish I’d repeat! — They make their chips in house and it comes with your choice of dipping sauces. I was beyond surprised and excited to hear that the sauces were made from scratch as well. The chips were crispy and dang, the honey mustard and ranch sauces were on point! — two words. Garlic. Fries. The fries are good in their own(crispy and cut in house), but slathered in a green garlic sauce they are absolutely irresistible. Order them. You’ll thank me later. What was«meh»: — I was considering the veggie burger but thought it was odd that they’d have house-made chips, all sauces from scratch, and yet they don’t make their own veggie burger patties. Seems like a waist to get homemade sides and a frozen veggie burger. I didn’t end up ordering it. — I tried my friend’s burger and it was cooked to a perfect Medium, but it was pretty small and lonely without a side. All in all, this is a great option while on campus and perfectly situated across from The Pop Parlour for a local, fun dessert!

I came in here on a Saturday night to grab some food before a nearby event. I just wanted a beer and some food, and I figured this could be a good place to get it. When I walked in around 7 pm on a Saturday night, there were just a handful of people at the bar and one table of three girls sitting not at the bar. I stood around awkwardly at the front, not sure what to do. There appeared to be a counter ordering system, but no one was up there and there was no sign to seat yourself, order at the bar, or wait to be seated. I kept waiting, hoping someone might see me, say hello, acknowledge my presence … something. Finally I got tired of waiting and walked to the bar, since everyone else was there. As soon as I sat down, two girls to my right just looked at me like I wasn’t supposed to be there. Finally, a bartender came over and I asked if I could order food at the bar. He just handed me a menu as a response. I ended up ordering a beer, a burger, and some fries. The burger is your basic patty and things like cheese cost extra. It looks like they try to do a Five Guys kind of thing with a section in black that comes free on your burger like ketchup, lettuce, mayo, etc. I opted for sriracha mayo and blue cheese(extra cost for the cheese) along with everything that normally came on it. My burger was good and actually cooked medium like I asked for. The fries were lackluster, nothing special. I see other reviews mentioning seasoning; I didn’t know you could get that, and wasn’t offered that or the garlic flavor either. Ultimately, I felt so awkward there like I was in the way of the people drinking at the bar, I probably wouldn’t go back unless it was during the day for lunch. Maybe it’s a different vibe then. I totally felt like this was a bar that happened to serve food, not a burger place that happened to have beer. As a non-college student, maybe I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time and it’s college student drinking time on Saturday nights, not really dinner time.

Burger U helped me get through an entire bachelors degree. There were multiple finals weeks where I couldn’t stand sitting in my room any longer, so I’d come here, pound beer and do my research. Staff is friendly with plenty of personality, they have a solid selection of beer and liquor, and they stay well connected with the UCF community by offering specials on game days and even having discounts during NFL games. Out of the two bars on campus, this one is by far my favorite. They also helped out with multiple barbecues at my job on campus.

A close military buddy graduated from UCF last week and apparently this was his campus watering hole. I came by for some brews a few days last week as well and enjoyed myself. The burgers are not anything to write home about, but the beer is cold and relatively cheap and the service was timely. It’s a bar folks, isn’t that what you should expect?

Came here again the other night for dinner and Light Up UCF with the family. I had the pizza burger and it was awesome! Very fresh, made to order and served nice and hot. I could go for another one. This may be our new favorite place to come every year when we come to enjoy Light Up UCF. Guess it was meant to be since the place we usually go to was closed for a Christmas party. It all works out.

This place would NOT be in business if they didn’t have the good fortune of being the only bar within walking distance of UCF Arena. I have never seen a bar less prepared for a crowd than this pathetic establishment. We went there before the«Legends of Old School» concert expecting to have some wings and beers before the concert. I wish I could rate their food or drinks but I cannot. We avoided the line to get a table because it was ridiculous. Not because of the size of the crowd but because they didn’t have the staff to seat or wait on them. I never saw a waitress during my 30 minutes standing at the bar. There were 3 inexperienced and altogether pathetic bartenders who were so far in the woods that they couldn’t make eye contact with the customers. We stood behind some poor, extremely patient dude who never got to place his order. Because we were behind him for so long, we knew it was a lost cause. If he couldn’t get a beer in 30 minutes, how long would it take to get ours? We were excited for the concert and just wanted a pitcher and some wings. We ended up with Jimmy John’s subs and ice water. If I could find the owner of this pub, I would love to smack the $hit out of him and tell him to thank God for his luck. An intelligent bar owner would have had 3 tubs of beers on ice in different locations throughout the bar to take the burden off those poor, stupid, inexperienced and entirely overwhelmed«bartenders.» Finally, when the concert was over, there were no taxis or Ubers available. When you go to UCF Arena, you must understand that you are outside of the city and civilization. Stick with Amway Arena. The downtown area is well-prepared for a crowd. UCF, despite being the 2nd largest University in the country, is a tiny, irrelevant venue.

Was heading to the UCF Men’s Soccer match, and I was hungry. With nothing more than drinks and M&Ms I headed out. I’ve had BurgerU bookmark for sometime and being close by I have it a try. And I was not disappointed, when I got up to the cashier is decided to ask what the burger of the month was. She said it’s called The Whole Hog, I stopped her there and ordered it. It’s a burger with pulled pork, applewood smoked bacon, and homemade coleslaw, it was so good. I also got the garlic fries, they were really good, no matter how bad they were going to make my breath smell. Would go back anytime I’m going to a UCF sporting event.

Overpriced menu. Solid mediocre food. A chocolate-chip cookie costs $ 1.85. Burger + cookie was close to $ 8.00(this is not a meal). I ordered to-go and received the burger wrapped in aluminum foil in a brown paper lunch bag. Presentation didn’t look so good but I was hoping that the food would compensate for that. To my disappointment, the buns were burnt, flat, and SOGGY! My biggest food pet peeves are soggy buns! C’mon, you just cooked up the stuff. It takes mad skills to make the buns soggy that fast. Burger was literally falling apart after every bite. Patty was slightly raw even though I requested for well-done. They also went a little overboard with the salt; I could taste the undissolved small salt crystals in the patty. I understand that it’s impossible to make perfect burgers to every customer, especially on a busy day. But I was the only customer that day and had to wait for nearly 10 minutes so considering the unreasonably long wait, the overpriced menu, and the below-mediocre food, there really is no excuse. Overall, the experience was a disappointment. I would never return.

I came here a while back with a friend and I will admit I had one of the most unusual burgers I had ever eaten. I have been reluctant to return because it is on a college campus. If I was 20 years younger, I probably would not give it a second thought. After reading the reviews I will have to go back in the near future just to see what insanely decadent creation they are offering… I saw some really crazy creation being advertised and morbid curiosity made me order it. Instead of a bun they used a glazed doughnut and topped the burger with an egg and bacon. I have a feeling I am missing a few items because this was a few months ago but I did take a picture for everybody to see. One thing I will never forget was how insanely good this burger was. It was decadent beyond belief but the sweet and salty of the bun and bacon really stood out and I have been craving one ever since. Now for the other reason I hesitated going back for another one… It was insanely rich and I ended up paying for that richness the rest of the evening. That was by far one of the harshest cases of indigestion I have had after eating a meal BUT… That burger was so good I simply could not stop eating it. In my 20’s I had a cast iron stomach but pushing 50 I can’t eat burgers this rich every day and not expect for my stomach to remind me to act my age. lol I also sampled the wings and fries and they did not leave a lasting memory but I will NEVEREVER forget that burger. I had a chance to meet the head chef and he was a great guy with some insanely fresh ideas when it came to food. I meant to write up a review about this long ago when it was fresh in my mind but I was not a Unilocaler at the time, let life get in the way and that bloody CRS set in. Better late than never but I will just have to go back again so I can give all of you one of my usual reviews along with photos and eye rolling comments. I would definitely recommend the food but I will be torn if I see that«Gut buster» on the board because my silly self would probably order it again and willingly pay the price for indulging in such an insanely rich burger but what the H… You only live once… lol

I was expecting more i guess. I ordered the cheese burger and it was just a regular patty that you buy from wal mart. Nothing special. However, the burger had good flavor, which is the 2 stars. being gracious. but hey what do you expect for the college crowd on campus at UCF.

I am quite torn because I mean the burger was actually really good but the fries was such a fail… Burger U is a counter service restaurant where you order your meal when you first walk in and then go take a seat with your number then someone comes out with your meal. We came here for lunch and they were pretty fast granted it is not packed like other places on University Dr. when you just gotta grab a decent burger on a regular lunch break. I liked the fact the restaurant didn’t make it feel like you’re at UCF but like a little better than a university joint when you’re off campus. The outside music would have been too loud for me(I’m not old, I just want to talk to my fraaans!!) but inside music level was great! The burger was pretty darn delicious. I got a 1 patty with cheese, grilled onions, ketchup and lettuce. Pretty basic and thats how I like it. The burger was a little greasy but I think it has to do with the grilled onions, I was okay with it. Seasoned nicely. The bun was so pillowy soft but didn’t lose its shape. I opted for a side of garlic fries and if I didn’t ordered those fries, I would have ranked this place 4 stars. The garlic fries are tossed in what looks like a garlic infused oil or just regular oil with chopped herbs and maybe garlic. If you ever read any of my other review I absolutely LOVE garlic but I hardly couldn’t down these fries because they were SOAKED in oil. Sad Face. I strongly suggest they find another method to make garlic fries such as tossing them in a garlic powder and fresh garlic with fresh herbs. Fries tossed in oil? No bueno. Just No. Other than that, many may like this cause they have beers and stuff which is cool and decent pricing. If you’re on campus and want a burger, I highly recommend this place over the other place that takes forever in the union…

This review was based on food and not the bar: The burger itself was pretty decent. The meat tasted high quality and it was cooked well. However I ordered bacon on mine(which cost .99 cents) and they only gave me one strip. They must have skimped on my cheese too(also costs extra) because I couldn’t taste it at all. I ordered the seasoned fries(which costs extra as well) they give you a HUGE portion, and while the seasoning was yummy, I didn’t want to finish them because they were very greasy and salty. When it came out my first thought was«that burger looks pretty small» and I left still hungry. For $ 10 I think you could do better. I would have rather gone to Five Guys. This place could improve by offering much larger burgers and less greasy fries.

BURGER U GETS A B+ ! Hopped on their freebie golf cart shuttle from the parking garage. Didn’t even see an All American obsessed«Tip Jar» mounted anywhere! Wow! The ordering lines pace was swift and before long we were sitting in the throughs of college life waiting for our beers — again. That wait proved to be reasonably short. Probably cause we got the shuttle to the restaurant and didn’t have to do that lengthy walk in the 92º heat. Perception = Reality to the subconscious mind. (and no, I was not subconscious!) I ordered the Dbl. Burger with all the offerings but tomato. If you are a fan of Five Guys, you’ll love their burger. True, it’s not suppose to be heart healthy and all that jazz, but an indulgent. The Sriracha mayo must have been lost after my waaaaaaay too pink burger returned from the kitchen closer to my perception of Medium. Hated to turn it back, but 2nd time was a charm for this one. Fingers lickin’ good stuff. The garlic fries are a bit frightening to behold as the garlic sauce is overly generous and unfortunatly limps em’ out pretty bad. Too moist for the parmesan to standout. A tasty thang shore nuff, but this was pushing the«allowance» for this Paleo targeted palate. Next time I’ll opt for something different. Maybe the sweet potato fries? The AC could have been cooler, but on a sweltering day like that, most well attended places were probably wanting for less BTU’s. Being crowded doesn’t help! Loo Review– Exceeded my expectations. Why? I guess I just need to adjust my overly critical anticipation of restroom conditions everywhere. Been quite a while since I was horrified –anywhere. I’d say ya gotta try this place — if you are there for a game for sure. Predator fans can get a bit costume-y and quite entertaining. Just get there early to stake your claim.

If I wanted something so greasy, I could have stayed home and had a straight shot of cooking oil. Every second spent in there either chewing my food or even staring at my food I felt my arteries clog a little more. The garlic fries had a good garlic taste to them but each one tasted like oil with a side of potato. I had the chicken and avocado sandwich. The toasted bread so overly buttered and hard I thought one of the main ingredients was salted cardboard. Even the coke machines were’nt working when I went in. The place itself was clean and I’m sure that going in for a beer would probably be a better experience. However, if you want to eat oil, save yourself the $ 10 and stay home.
