One thing I was disappointed about at Universal was dining. Disney just does it better. Take the Classic Monsters Café at Universal and take a quick-serve restaurant at Disney. Disney’s can get more people through faster, the food is better, and the prices are the same or even cheaper. We needed something quick on the way out of the park and this was right there. It was empty so everything moved pretty quickly. I got ribs and potatoes and mac and cheese(it was a long day and I was quite hungry). The ribs were fine, potatoes good, and mac and cheese fine. So really 3 stars for the food. What killed this place was the atmosphere and the prices. Way too expensive. No if’s, and’s, or but’s. The atmosphere is also mediocre at best. Yes, it’s monster theme, but it was just really dark and uninviting. I didn’t feel like sticking around. Again, just take a hint from Disney World and their excellent theming in restaurants. Not a bad choice in a pinch, but it’s nothing to write home about.

Meh… the burgers were pretty bad, cooked awhile ago, then kept in a warming tray until ordered. I added catsup, mustard, mayonnaise, & relish and it still didn’t help! No drink refills, so don’t ask. The crinkle fries were fresh so they were good. The pizza looked like it had been sitting there for awhile. Their desserts looked good, we may go back later for that!

I am a bit disappointed in this place… I am a vegetarian, and I know that my choices are limited, especially in a theme park and I am always flexible, but this place was not accommodating at all. I asked if I could just have a burger with no meat, just cheese and veggies and they said«no.» I was a little surprised(not a tough request) and asked them«really?» And they said yes… we can’t give you that. I was willing to pay the same price just without meat. With limited menu choices, you would think that they would be a little more helpful to their customers. I most definitely will not be returning here. Having said that, I cannot vouch for the rest of the food. Didn’t look super appetizing, but their fries were good. Stole one off a friends plate.

I had high hopes! I love classic monsters and want them to stick around so other generations can see where the classics are at but at this rate, They’ll be long forgotten.. WORST burger and fries I’ve ever had and I feel that’s pretty hard to mess up. Stale bread, barbie or plastic looking burger patty which was very well done, fries were scarce and hard. We got a side of chili fries because this meal was that weak. who doesn’t love canned chili! !! …no one, paying that price. I don’t recommend this place. I wish I had taken a picture of the chicken and ribs they offer. save yourself the disappointment.. Even thr workers hated that place !

Was referred to eat here from an employee at the park. It was decent. We would go back. The pizza was oven baked and kids liked it. Chicken and ribs with herb potatoes was filling and good.

If you’re at Universal Studios and you’re looking for a healthy option, drop by here. Ordered: Half Rotisserie Chicken Platter: 3⁄5 good but considering the price and what you get, it was just alright.

We really weren’t expecting much when we got to this place… can you really get good food in the park? But, the food turned out to be healthy and good! We had the roasted chicken, broccoli and the potatoes… needed a little salt but besides that it was great for food at universal. In addition, it was very quiet and relaxing, just what we needed at lunch.

Hamburger s are ok. Good for a group of teens. Watching 6 of them finishing a full plate was amazing. Great appetite.

While at Halloween horror nights, I decided to grab a bite. In honor of the occasion, I chose the monsters café. It had your basic hot dog and hamburger as well as lasagna and different sides of veggies. I got a hot dog combo(including fries, no drink) and used my AAA card to get 10% off. Once you get your food, you can sit In crypt seating a darkened, decorated indoor area with old movies clips playing or take your chances with the outside seating on the curb.

Okay, so we all know we can’t expect gourmet quality when it comes to park food. This place served its purpose in filling me up. Even though I kept eyeing the lasagna, I went with the safest item and ordered a burger with fries(no drink included). I mean the likelihood of fudging up a burger was slim, right? Luckily for them and my stomach they proved me right. As expected the meat wasn’t flavorful but it was well cooked and the fries were decent. The café itself was cute with all its Monsters theme deco and t.v.‘s in the background playing old & classic monster movies.

This wasn’t too bad. They give you a lot of food. The burger is big enough to share so now I know for next time since we bought two of them. Not the cheapest but it works.

Homemade entrees like meatloaf and chicken. There is a coke freestyle machine in the back. Many kid friendly options including hot dogs and pizza. Food is very average but at least warm and a step up from a sandwich.

Price sucks. But you are inside an amusement park so what do you expect. Food: Unfortunately the food is mediocre because they have to shovel it out to hundreds. My wife and I got the chicken and ribs with potatoes and broccoli. The ribs are super dry. The chicken is over-salted. The potatoes are sliced and really lack any kind of flavor. Décor: It is universal so you get cool décor. Lots of monster stuff. They have alien section. The TV was playing old B&W monster movies. If you are stuck at Universal and you don’t feel like paying triple on citywalk or leaving the park then this place will do. Especially when you are starving and your feet hurt. Anywhere outside an amusement park they would get 3 stars. Inside an amusement park they do what they can and it is one of the better ones.

If you absolutely MUST dine while inside Universal Studios, this place is kinda ok. While the rotisserie chicken is nothing to write home about, it’s decent enough. Although, you are going to pay out the nose for it, and it’s certainly not worth what they charge. The chicken is the only thing we have tried here. Not only is the food subpar and the fees astronomical, but you’re going to enjoy waiting in a really long line too. Instead of dropping $ 40-$ 50 here to feed a family of 4, here’s what I suggest: Walk your happy behinds out of the Theme Park and into CityWalk and go have a decent meal at one of the many good restaurants for about the same price! You’ll receive MUCH higher quality food and good service. You’ll be able to rest and relax your tired body and feet in the a/c over a nice meal. Hubby and I ate here several times before we finally smacked ourselves in the head and realized it wasn’t that hard to walk about 10 minutes(if that) to one of the CityWalk restaurants and then re-enter the Park after we ate. DOH! Heed my advice… seriously… you’ll thank me later for it! =)

Surprisingly filling lunch. We all got the cheese burger, and it came with some fries. The burger was your average cafeteria burger, but I felt like it was a little bigger. The fries were a little seasoned I believe, which was nice.(Nathan fires.) The Meatloaf plate looked big, and so did the half chicken. Probably your best value You can also get a small side salad for about $ 3.99. Somewhere around the $ 3 mark. For being in the park and somewhat decent food, I’m giving this place 3 stars. Of course I experienced better, but this is typical amusement park food, I just felt like you got a little fore bang for your buck.

Standard low cost family dining in the park. There are a number of places in the park with the same menu overall(pizza, burger, hot dogs, crappy wedge salad) so really you are going for atmosphere… or just to keep jr. quiet because it’s 95 degrees and he hasn’t eaten all day.

Nothing wrong with this place, the decoration is great and the food is standard with the high price that a theme park can charge. But there are better places and much worse places. Besides the decorations and atmosphere the fact that THEYCOOKTHEIRPIZZAIN A REALFIREOVEN is awesome!!!

This was one of the scariest places in the park. Thrilling? Loopy roller coaster? Monsters chasing you? Nope… just the prices and the wait. Now I know that this is Orlando and both Disney and Universal bend you over a barrel when you have to buy food, but this one was ridiculous. 2 slices of pizza, 2 chili dogs with fries and 4 waters…$ 43. Ok, let me actually write that again in case you missed it…$ 43. And I got to wait in line for a good, solid 15 minutes for the privilege of spending $ 43 on this meal. Now I WILL say that the brick oven pizza was actually decent(not great and in no way worth $ 7.50 a slice) and the Nathan’s chili dog was also ok… but it was a FRIGGIN’ HOTDOG! $ 2.75 for a bottle of water… unbelievable. They do offer other options here, which may be of interest… Lasagna, wedge salads, a chicken and veggie meal. So you can actually eat a fairly healthy meal here if you so choose, but you’re still going to get hammered on the cost. As for the actual décor-it’s pretty cool, and they sometimes have monsters creeping around outtside, but it’s like you’re being charged for an extra attraction here… bring in your own food. a solid PB&J would have been much better at this point of the day and I wouldn’t have left $ 43 lighter…

At the very moment I was read my total, I heard a blood curdling scream from the stroller I was pushing. I immediately checked on my daughter who was screaming bloody murder. Initially, I thought it was my wallet, screaming due to the imminent danger caused by the $ 18 I was about to pay for a «kid’s meal,» consisting of apple sauce, a slice of pizza, and a cookie, along with a Powerade for her, and a slice of pizza for me, and a soft drink refill for my souvenir cup; however, it seems she was deathly afraid of the swamp creature they have displayed in the eatery. After saying«it’s okay, he’s nice!» about fifty times, I hesitantly removed my debit card from the wallet which was to become its body bag after a day at the park. I am local, so I already know, shame on me for not simply getting the Meal Deal. The Meal Deal at Universal is not like the one at Disney. You don’t have to be staying on property, and need a calculator, and math teacher to figure out how much it will be… and there is an adult flat rate, and a kids flat rate… GETTHEMEALPLAN! By the time you are done at ONE restaurant at either park, you could have gotten it! With all of that said, we live within very close proximity and I thought we would not be eating that much… so, we ended up with the horrors of $ 18 and Swamp Thing. The pizza was theme park pizza. It was really what I expected. It was nice to munch on, as if I was looking for something further up on the culinary scale, I would have simply walked over to CityWalk. It would have been nice if they provided fresh fruit for my daughter’s meal, as opposed to the apple sauce that she did not even end up eating. Also, if they are going to provide kid’s meals at the café, I would love them to provide kid’s drinks. At least have a juice box or something available, as my daughter was none too thrilled with the bland menagerie of electrolytes under the guise of some type of fruit punch flavoring(Powerade). Again, I don’t have lofty expectations when it comes to park food, but your money may be better spent at another restaurant. For instance, there is a pizza place that specializes in pizza, located within close proximity of The Mummy. However, if you are just trying to grab a quick bite and scare, and don’t mind paying twenty bucks for you and one kid, you’ve got your place.

Run away from this place as if every classic monster was chasing you. I had been walking around the park with only the mornings coffee in me. Monsters Café was the first thing I saw. I entered and ordered the Chicago Dog with fries and a drink. 13 dollars. I wish I had brought my phone to the park so I could have taken a picture of this monstrosity. There was so much bun on this hot dog that it was practically a loaf of bread. Not only that but it was hard as a rock, the fries equally as hard and I think half frozen. The dog itself was no thicker than my little finger. By the time I was done with this thing I had torn off half the bread and it was all over the table. Look, I know this is a theme park and you can not expect much from the little cafes. But for 13 dollars, one would think Universal with all of their money might invest more in this area. It was without a doubt one of the worst meals I have had the displeasures of experiencing. Oh the mistakes of eating hangry.
