The cakes here looked amazing and we were very tempted to get a slice of the chocolate cake, but we were flying out to New Orleans that afternoon so we decided to pass on it since we’d be stuffing ourselves for the next four days in New Orleans. After a second glance at all the tasty treats on display, I noticed the decadent chocolate chip cookies. I’m a huge chocolate chip cookie fan so we bought a couple for a snack on the plane. Unfortunately they look a lot better than they taste. For something labeled decadent chocolate, I expected the cookies to be chock full of chocolate, and that’s what it looked like from the outside. But the inside actually has a lot of nuts, which both of us dislike. The cookies were also on the dry side. We ate the cookies solely out of hunger, but didn’t really enjoy them at all. I realize it’s a little unfair to write a whole review based solely on a cookie, but unfortunately that’s the experience I had. I’ll definitely try to go back though and hopefully we enjoy the cake more. And we’ll know next time to ask about nuts.

Order: Pear and Pistachio, and Chocolate cake Price: $ 9 total Pros: The pear cake was phenomenal, and the pistachio cream was light, but still sweet Cons: The chocolate cake didn’t really stand out a ton and the outer layer of icing was just a little sweet overall for both cakes Thoughts: We had grabbed some coffee from Lineage(right down the market) and figured what better to try cake with than coffee(yes, we like coffee and sweets… a lot). I was very impressed with the actual cake of the pear cake; it was a little more dense than your normal cake but had plenty of hints of pear with a wonderfully light taste to it. The pistachio cream also really jumped out as a unique flavor that worked really well with the pear flavors in the cake. Unfortunately the chocolate cake wasn’t a quite as good. I will readily admit that I’m not a huge fan of cake but the chocolate cake didn’t really stand out. To top it all off the outer layer of frosting was sweeter than I like. I’d be interested in trying some more of their stuff but at present I would just say it was good, and to try something unique to them rather than looking for a better version of something another place does well.

For the price you pay, the portion is super small! I was intrigued by the menu items and ingredients and was excited to try one of the panini’s, but left hungry. I will say the tiny prosciutto panini on rosemary ciabatta was delicious, but I was definitely expecting it to be more filling! I may not order lunch there again, but I may go to try their desserts as I see they are popular with other Unilocalers!

The Brown Sugar Pumpkin cake was amazing! Don’t leave the East End market without some kind of sweet from here.

Everything here is delicious and wonderful. The staff is great and they seem really proud of the food they serve. The Almond tort is my favorite I cannot believe how amazing it is each time I have it. I always look forward to seeing what they have in their cases when I visit the market. I have had their salami panini on focacia bread, as well as their White lasagna both I can highly recommend. East End Market is full of gems.

I’ve tried«Fatto in Casa» a few times(four times, to be precise); in all of them, I had some of the worst customer service experiences in my life. The food is not that bad, but the service is horrible — and for such a «okay» food quality, clients should be treated well. There is this blond girl working there(I don’t know if she’s the owner or just a regular employee) with no customer service skills at all: she talks down to the clientele and even to the people who work in the vicinity — as I once witnessed. While there to get some mini-quiches(which often are a little too burned), I saw this«almond torte» on the counter and asked the attendant if that was similar to the Spanish almond torte famously named«Santiago.» In the pettiest and rudest manner, she looked at me and answered«as you know, we sell Italian food. Not Spanish.» Her statement was accompanied by the most ridiculous look of impatience. I then ordered my mini-quiches. Yes: quiche — the FRENCH delicacy sold at that stand. This was the last time I bought anything there. But it was just too satisfying to order a French dish right after being told that they only sell«Italian» food by the rudest attendant in the whole East End Market.

Needed a sweet tooth fix so we stopped by here when visiting the East End Market. We indulged in the Nutella sandwiches and the Almond Tortes which were very good but a little bit on the pricey side for what you get. I noticed there were cakes and desserts freshly made which looked really good. Next time, I will try some of their food so cannot comment on that part. Staff was friendly and over all a good experience.

I love the East End Market, it’s one of my faves in the Audobon Park community. On my last visit to the Market I checked out Fatto In Casa & was pleasantly surprised with the delicious Italian homemade treats they offer. I ordered a great pasta salad & took home a few baked treats to enjoy later. They are only getting three stars from me because although the food was good it’s a bit pricey for what you get. Small portions come at a price at Fatto so be forewarned. That said, the staff was friendly & overall I had a good experience. May check it out again.

Somehow the food I just ate was simple but, by the taste, seems like there was a lot of attention and effort paid to making it. The pasta e fagioli was much lighter than most pasta e fagioli soups that I have experienced. I was expecting a thicker broth, but this one was light and still full of amazing tastes. The shortbread cookie, also a simple product, was really perfectly soft and tasted better than most any shortbread cookie I have had. I so appreciate how Casa can make simple foods taste delicate and robust at the same time. Great job, guys :) will be back very soon.

Love this place… I’m addicted to the lemon olive oil cake and try to stop by every couple of weeks. I also recently stopped for lunch and had a prosciutto, apricot and Brie panini I thought I had died and gone to heaven it was soooo yummy. It’s not cheap for sure but the market is so cute and it’s a nice change from the norm.

This review centers on a lunch I ordered here. They have a great little spot in the east end market. They have some sweet and savory items that look amazing. I chose the stuffed mushroom based on the counter girls suggestion. They offered to heat it up for me since I was eating there at the bar nearby. I agreed a figured they would use the joint kitchen on site or maybe a toaster oven. I watched her take it from the case and open a little cabinet where some cheap microwave was loacated. She nuked it for 3 minutes in the microwave. I could see it looking steamy and sad when she took it out. Then the owner comes over and looks at it and says. I want it to be really hot for you and takes it and puts it in the microwave for several more minutes. Mind you I’ve paid a lot of $$ for this mushroom already. They know its a dine in order then they put it in a bag. I asked them to take it out and out it on a plate. They did. The microwaved slimy mushroom patty was terrible. Maybe had it been baked it would have been better. I was disappointed for sure. I hope they can figure out how to serve customers eating there onsite.

This is a nice little Italian bakery with a few hot menu items, but I decided to go with something sweet. The girl working the front was very helpful and offered some good suggestions about what to get, and I was quite satisfied with my decision. I got the lemon and olive oil pound cake and I loved it. It was nice and moist with the perfect amount of lemon. Fair price, good service and good food. I was overall satisfied with this place.

Another gem inside East End Market. Really… you can’t go wrong in this place. Fatto In Casa is Italian for Home Made and this place ooooooozes freshly made items. Everything from the soups to the sweets, you can taste the love. One evening I was so busy but didn’t want to get fast food so I stopped here to pick up dinner and boy did I score! I went for the chicken cacciatore and a stuffed mushroom and I took it home and literally wined and dined myself. It was the perfect home made Italian meal for 1 and I enjoyed every bite. When I ordered it I asked for specific details on the best way to prepare/heat it up for the best flavor and I was told to use a pan for the cacciatore and my small oven for the stuffed mushroom and I did just that and let me tell you, I can warm up a meal like a B-O-S-S! The chicken cacciatore was so flavorful and light, I could have eaten another serving but when paired with the giant stuffed mushroom, it was the perfect pair! Yes, it is a little more pricey than I can handle on a weekly basis but if you want to spoil yourself or just one selection, this is your spot. I can see myself splurging here at least once a month since I know and have experienced the top quality ingredients they use and the detail down to the eco-friendly packaging. I am not sure how I have stayed away from their glorious looking desserts but next time, I am totally getting all up in one of their cakes!

Visited Fatto in Casa on Friday… had a tomato/mozzarella caprese sandwich and a cookie. The tab was $ 11. The sandwich, while tasty, was only slightly larger than an egg mcmuffin. The cookie was OK, nothing special. My dining companion had a sandwich, soup and a bottled water… tab was $ 20. I could get a lot more for my money(and just as good or better quality) at Pom Poms or a slew of other places. There were 3 or 4 people working behind the counter, but nobody seemed to have any idea of how to deal with customers. Nobody smiled, spoke or pretended to notice me while I waited for someone to take my order at the counter. It wasn’t particularly busy, but they seemed like they were completely overwhelmed and would rather we all just went away.

I can’t speak for the food but I can definitely talk about the dessert. Can you say delicious in Italian? The pumpkin bread, the Nutella cookies, the chocolate and nuts biscotti … Not to be missed. The owner who’s from around Tuscany is a very talented pastry chef. The store itself is in the west end market on the other side of winter park. The market is a co-op of speciality shops under one roof. Great concept. Most stores just recently opened including Fatto in casa(it means«home made» in Italian) so I’d discount Hanks review and give it a try … It is Belisimo !
