A little after 10pm on 2÷13÷2016, I stopped by Jake’s for refreshment. It had been a long day at Universal. My kids had just called it quits for the night, and I wanted to relax for a bit, have a beer, and eat some pizza. It was just me, so I asked the hostess if I could seat myself in the bar area. She told me it was no problem, so I walked over. There was an empty stool, so I asked if it was available. The bartender mentioned it wasn’t, so I sat at a stool in the row of high tops across from the bar. Over 5 minutes passed. No fewer than half a dozen employees passed, and I was never acknowledged. I made eye contact with a few, and I even raised my hand at one in an attempt to get her attention. Still, no one spoke to me. I decided to leave, but I first stopped back by the host stand to voice my disappointment. I was very polite and mentioned the situation casually, but there was no excuss for the neglect. I have never contacted a restaurant formally with a grievance, and this will be my first Unilocal review. I’m normally a laid back guy, but I left Jake’s American Grill in the Royal Pacific Hotel at Universal extremely frustrated… And hungry.

My family and I have eaten here two nights in a row! The food was excellent and the service we received from Phillip was above and beyond! He made our grandchildrens dinner so enjoyable! I would highly recommend Jakes to anyone!

While in town for a conference I stayed at the Loews Pacific Resort and spent Super Bowl Sunday with a group at Jake’s American Bar. The bar was packed as the big game was on. They even brought out a huge projection TV so we had a great view of the game. They offered a menu of «bar food» which for the most part was just fine. The wings had a nice kick with plenty of carrots and celery. The pizza was uneventful but the plate of nachos was quite tasty and most plentiful. There were 5 of us who shared the nachos and there was enough to keep everyone satisfied. Our server Melissa was awesome and she just ran her tail off keeping us happy with food and flowing with drinks.

Mediocre food and service. Got the steak flatbread and was totally tasteless. The kids got burgers which were pretty good but so over priced. Service was very slow and they were not even busy

The restaurant is around 30% full right now. We waited over an hour and 15 minutes for simple to prepare foods(burgers). The customer service is the worst we experienced in the entire Universal properties. The food was subpar with soggy calamari(not crisp as stated on the menu). The burger at one time had melted cheese but was cold as was the ice cold to the touch bun straight out of a fridge! The sweet potato fries some were half cooked. From start to finish a terrible experience. We will never return. Such a disappointment!

We had breakfast and dinner here during our stay. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Fresh fruits and yogurt, omelette a made to order. Quality ingredients. From sweet to savory, it was all presented perfectly. Dinner menu offers adventurous touches to traditional Americana. Pizza and grilled cheese was elevated to interesting places. Atmosphere and staff are very good. Kids had a blast and the adults were well taken care of. High recommendation. If you’re staying in the hotel don’t miss it.

Very pleasantly surprised! Not only can this restaurant accommodate the majority of their menu for Celiac visitors, but they even have a separate fryer for their French fries and sweet potato fries! Thanks to our awesome server for her help and clarification on all of my questions during our visit!

Typical hotel food. Overpriced and adequate at best. Service was good, but very slow. We came around 3:30pm and it took almost 20 min for my glass of wine. It’s disappointing bc when I am traveling, especially to a tourist trap I would prefer a good meal vs having to leave the property for a good meal

We came here to kill time before our flight and watch the game. We had an excellent bartender = excellent service. The food was only okay. Most of my stars are bc of our excellent service. Ordered: Crispy Calamari: the chili-lime glaze was too much which made it too sweet over all and the calamari was definitely NOT crispy… Mediterranean App Platter: it was just any store bought red roasted pepper hummus. And the egg plant dip was not for me. I didn’t like it. Comes with plenty of pita bread slices and a few cucumber slices. Not impressed by this app. I can’t tell how the atmosphere would be during normal hours bc we were there when it was dead… But the bartender was the best!

Pricey, but expected for resort food. My husband and I split a fish and chips dinner, which was good, except the cole slaw was either spoiled or the worst cole slaw ever. I asked the waiter if it was suppose to taste like that, it had a moldy taste, and he said he didn’t know, and apologized. He didn’t offer to get a new one though or offer something in place of it which I thought was weird. One thing I thought was really nice was they divided the dinner on separate plates for us, so I was willing to forgive the cole slaw incident. My son had a steak, and it was delicious and tender. We also ordered calamari as an appetizer and it was really good too. Later we ordered a pizza to take to our room. It was really good. Only thing was they didn’t have any plates or utensils to eat it with. The waitress handed me a wad of cocktail napkins, and when I just looked at her with what must have been a puzzled look, she said she would see if she could find some plates or something. She ended up giving me a couple of carry out containers which i ripped the lids off to make some makeshift plates. No luck on the utensils, but it was pizza… so it was okay, and I give credit to the waitress for trying to help. When I got back to our room, an outside pizza vendor had slid an advertisement under our door, and if we would have known we could have gotten the same size pizza with more toppings, 20 wings, and 3 cans of soda… cheaper. But we’ll know next time to do that. I didn’t know that outside vendors would deliver to the hotel. They were renovating the restaurant so maybe that was why the snafu on those minor issues, other than that I think anyone could find something they like here. Way better than the other places they have there. We ate at Emeril’s Tchoup Chop, and I got the rib eye steak, and I swear the steak at Jakes was WAY better and less expensive.

This bar was the highlight of a pitiful and overpriced hotel. I would unwind here every night after spending the day with the family in the parks. –The bartenders were all terrific and on point. They really take care of their customers. — The beer selections were better than anywhere else in Universal.(Cigar City, Funky Buddha, Bells) –The food was really good.(nothing to complain about at all) –THEWINGS! Awesome buffalo wings! If you want molten lava sauce these are not for you. The sauce is actually very flavorful. The wings perfectly fried and doused. –We ate all over Universal and this place was the best.(I know, not hard to do cause the food is deplorable at Universal.

The hotel boasts quite a few interesting dining options like the Wantilan Luau with live music and authentic Polynesian cuisine, Emeril’s Tchoup Chop — Emeril Lagasse’s take on Asian/Polynesian cuisine, Jake’s American Bar — featuring live entertainment on select nights and the Orchid Court Lounge & Sushi Bar with inventive sushi and South Seas martinis. Loews Hotels & Resorts locations are celebrating National Burger Month with locally inspired signature burgers paired with craft beers, available through the end of June. In Orlando, Loews Royal Pacific Resort, Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel and Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort are grilling up specialty burgers and pairing them with craft beer for the summer season. From pickles and onion rings to French fries and coleslaw, everything goes with a good burger — but nothing quite like a cold beer. The talented food and beverage teams at Loews Hotels at Universal Orlando have done their research, piecing together a perfect combination of unique burgers and brews. The resulting burger and craft beer pairing is not only delicious, but also complements Loews’ dedication to delighting guests with exciting and approachable local travel experiences. At Loews Royal Pacific Resort, guests in Jake’s American Bar can enjoy the B-52 Bomber Burger, a black angus burger with short ribs, caramelized onion, horseradish cheddar, lettuce and tomato paired with Jake’s American Red Lager, a smooth red lager with a hearty hop finish.

3 Stars for a great, inventive drink and decent food. I was meeting a friend for drinks and a snack since he was staying in the hotel. There was no wait, which was good, but we were sat right next to the small stage and speakers. They were not in use when we sat down, but an hour later a live country musician began playing and we had a hard time talking over it. I went back and forth on what drink to order and the server led me down the right path when he recommended I try the watermelon Tom Collins. It came in a large glass and included large chunks of watermelon as well as middle cucumber and watermelon. It was not a cheap drink, but boy did I enjoy it! I went ahead and snacked on the charcuterie appetizer which was pretty steep but good($ 16). It came with a few small buns and some assorted meat and spreads. It wasn’t bad but also wasn’t something to write home about. The service was attentive– with the manager coming by to check on us a few times in addition to the server. Not a bad place for a drink, but not necessarily somewhere I’d go if I wasn’t meeting someone in the hotel.

Good food with a really good bar. this is the sort of place I could enjoy making a regular hang out if it were in my home town. Menu is small but has a decent variety, same can be said of the drink menu. The unique drinks are fun and have something for everyone… The signature drink is big enough to share, but one average size person can handle it and remain upright. If a drink is not on the menu they’ll make it, if you want to try something different ask them to make something of their own creation. You can’t go wrong here.

We came here for dinner after a long day at the Orlando parks and were thoroughly exhausted by the time we arrived. After eating mostly fried food and junk in the parks all day we were looking for something lighter and thankfully Jake’s had that. Service was a bit slow but we were there late — we were seated around 8:45 — so that is probably reasonable. I didn’t even look at the cocktail menu we were so tired, I just beelined straight for the salads and vegetables. The table next to us had one of the burgers and fry combos and I have to say — those smelled heavenly when they went by. Judging by how quickly they got eaten I’d say they were a winner too. The salad I ordered was perfect, light and not overly dressed and I was thrilled. My fiancé had a sandwich with a side of fruit(such a nice offering instead of salad or fries) and it look awesome. It had melty cheese and all sorts of wonderfulness happening. I wish we hadn’t been to tired or we would have stuck around for drinks. The menu looked fun.

A bit pricey, yes… But remember where you are. Cheap resprt dining is non existent. The pretzel sticks are pretty amazing. They have a garlicky, buttery coating that tastes good all on it’s own. The house made mustard and cheese dipping sauces are pretty tasty as well. I had the A1 Bomber Burger. It came out cooked as I asked for it to be(well done), and wasn’t a premade, frozen patty. It was a filling meal, and it tasted just fine. This place is pretty much what you’d expect in a resort such as the Royal Pacific. Not stellar, but not going to give you food poisoning.

Nothing spectacular here. It’s a resort restaurant. It’s a tad pricey for what you get but you have to remember were you are. On to the food quality. First off was the pretzel appetizer. It was rather good for being a breadstick/pretzel hybrid. It comes with a house cheese sauce and mustard both are except able. The burger I ordered was decent nothing mind blowing for the $ 17 price tag. Over all of your hunger it’s a relax environment with better than say Apple Bees type food.

I’m pretty sure I had an excellent time here when my BF and I stopped by after dinner on a Thursday night … it was kind of a blur, to be honest. The main draw was(FREE) karaōke! And hello! We’re from Hawaii, where karaōke is a normal pau hana(after work) deal. And it’s freeeeee! It was pretty crowded, so we sat at the bar, I had a pretty strong margarita and was ready to put in one of my signature songs. The whole crowd was really fun and I’m pretty sure I sang at least one more song with my BF before we headed back to our room. The bartender that helped us was cool and so was the karaōke host — a must do while staying at the Royal Pacific!

If you’re looking for a casual dinner at the Royal Pacific, your choices are limited. There are several restaurants, but they are all upscale and expensive. Nice that this resort has Jake’s American Bar as an option. Ordinary American food. Not bad. Not jump up and down good. But good. We decided to share two sandwiches… the crabcake one with apple slaw and basil tartare for $ 16…and Roast Beef n Pretzel Bun Caramelize Onion, Provolone Cheese, Horseradish Aioli for $ 15. We were one of only a handful of tables on a recent January Tuesday night. Service was mostly good. We had a charming gal Server, plus our food was brought by a nice guy. Even the wine guy helped us out at one point by breaking into the otherwise impossible sealed tiny bottle of ketchup for us. The crabcake was good, with only a small amount of basil tartare that barely covered the bun when spread. Apple slaw was so minimal that I couldn’t tell it was apple anything. The crab itself was good. Light. Not bad. The pretzel bun was very good, with the beef being a close second. It was good and beefy in a nice lean way, which we love. It was quite dry, however. Would have loved more onions and/or more cheese… more flavor and especially more moisture. Some nice jus to dip in would have been especially good. I will say that Husband can drink a ton of tea. When his glass went empty that was not unusual. However, when both my wine and my big glass of water went empty also… that is very unusual for us. And it didn’t appear to be our Server’s fault. She seemed to have been pulled away for paperwork or something with management in a nearby room? She was finally turned loose and promptly refilled our drinks. Offered dessert. I was too full, but Husband opted for the small key lime dessert, which was nice. Just the right size for him. Loved that small dessert was even an option. House chardonnay was a decent one for nine bucks… William Hill. I would not hesitate to go back, but would encourage them to go for it a little more when it comes to bolder flavors.
