I should start this review off by stating that I had 0% prior knowledge regarding anything in the Monster Jam world. I just came into event this with low standards, looking for entertainment aka giant trucks jumping high, flipping and making lots of noise. Mission accomplished. My friend purchased the Pit Pass for $ 10 which may or may not be worth it, depends on how badly you’d like to get a few autographs and get a very close glimpse of these massive trucks. I should place more context to this review by adding that it was about 30 degrees; very cold relatively speaking. The show itself started with a few races between smaller trucks which I found to be entertaining. Doesn’t sound as fun as the Moto events the other reviewer mentioned, but since I have nothing to compare it to, I thought it was cool enough. The event itself fulfilled my quota for large trucks jumping and flying high into the air so I had a real good time. I was told to expect a drunk crowd, but I’m guessing the wind chill reduced the number who wanted to get drunk… this led to a very calm and friendly crowd. I do have to complain about the concession food though; the prices were insanely high. Maybe it’s because I don’t tend to visit sporting events, but it’s crazy to see anyone charge $ 15 for cotton candy! It made the $ 9 hot dog seem rational. Assuming the temperature is bearable, I can definitely see myself returning next year.

Monster Jam Orlando 2016 was kind of a disappointment this year. We had awesome seats. We were in Row L on the first level which is 3 rows from the tarped off seats. The pre-show was an absolute joke. We have been going for 5 years now and this has been the worst year so far. They used to have motorcross and soccer mom derbies. This year they had mini mega truck racing which lasted all of 15 minutes of the entire 1 and half hour early entry. The rest of the time was filled with live commercials. The Monster Jam industry has become so commercialized that they seem to be caring less and less about the fans. I am not saying that the drivers don’t care about their fans because I know they do, but the industry as a whole. The people who pull the strings are getting greedy. It has become about the almighty dollar. We go to see the event live to see the trucks race and freestyle. Another reason is so we don’t have to sit through commercials. If they too out all the commercials, live and on the«media screen», I don’t think the entire show, including pre-show would have even lasted an hour and a half. Needless to say, I was disappointed and even contemplating not going anymore, which is sad since we enjoy the monster trucks, the monster truck ride, and the pit party where we get to meet the drivers, but the event as a whole seems to be lacking more and more every year. If you know of anywhere I can post a complaint, please let me know. I included hash tags so maybe it will be seen by other who can direct me to where I can voice my opinion.
