We had an excellent dinner tonight at Moonfish. We ordered sushi and the lump crab meat avocado stack as appetizers. For our entrée, We ordered the sea bass which comes with a large delicious salad and rice as the sides. Our friends orders the steamed basket that they said were excellent. For dessert, the carrot cake is delicious! I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Xavier was our server and he was fantastic. The manager came by and thanked us for coming in. Very nice night.

A very elegant seafood & sushi restaurant– Is the way I would describe this place. Nice décor with aquatic themes, classy yet casual looking ambiance and great flavors. They have daily fresh catch for the fish and offer several varieties. I was here last night with a few friends and ordered their mussels in thai sauce for appetizer. The sauce was delicious and the mussels tasted great in that flavor. I then had the Grupper with macadamia crust — tried this combination first time and was really delicious.

Don’t go here for sushi! Our visit had everything to do with the raves that the sushi/sushi chefs were getting here/trip advisor/zagat/open table. Turns out the owners got rid of all but tuna/salmon/whitefish/shrimp/tobiko. Wasn’t informed of this until we had ordered the omakase(chef’s choice) and received a plate of several of each of the above. When I expressed my disappointment, the explanation above was offered but no offers to switch the order or anything. Waiter Kevin was not knowledgeable about the beers available, seemed uninterested in actually, you, know, being a waiter, and mostly seemed interested in making bad jokes and semi-snide remarks. Never had anyone fill our water glasses without several flag-downs. For all I know, the rest of the menu is fantastic but the sushi is non-existent.

My husband and I went to moonfish for happy hour dinner on a Friday evening. We were immediately greeted by the friendly hostess. Even though it was busy, we were able to find seats at the bar right in front of the sushi chef. This ended up being really awesome– dinner and a show! Our server Ashley came over right away and got us started with drinks. Throughout the night, we asked her for recommendations on food and drinks and she was always spot on. For drinks, I tried the cantaloupe martini(delicious and really tastes like cantaloupe) and sparkling sangria(refreshing but definitely packed a strong punch). We also tried the apple martini which is actually made with gin. I normally don’t like gin, but this drink was very good. Now for the food… We ordered strictly off the happy hour menu. My least favorite was the tuna tacos… Not because they were bad but just that everything else was so delicious. The meatballs are a generous portion and have a lot of flavor. The truffle oysters also tasted amazing. I just wish the oysters were a little bigger. But the real star of the show was the sushi. We ordered chef Sosa’s special roll of the day, yum yum roll, double tuna roll. The sushi chef talked with us a bit while he worked. The tuna came in fresh earlier that day and he cuts it himself. His knife skills are on point. The sushi was amazing and fresh. Seems like he even has a little fan club. The couple next to us go to happy hour every Friday and sit by the sushi bar. Somehow we saved room for dessert and Ashkey brought out the tray with all the desserts. We ordered the carrot cake to share. It was a generous helping. It looked beautiful and tasted even better! We had an awesome experience and can’t wait to go back. Thanks Ashley and chef Sosa!

If I could give 6 stars I would have … This place was Nothing short of phenomenal !! The food was Excellent, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was awesome … My son is 4 and loved every bite of his food, everything we ordered came out perfect. We didn’t have to ask for anything our waiter was right there with more drinks when we needed Them, he even recommended appetizers that were Delishhh! — Oh and one most important thing I always look for is cleanliness and appearance and the dining room was spotless and clean from the tables to the showcases when you walk in. That should make it 7 We traveled 18 hours to vacation in Orlando and I can’t wait till next April to come back to Orlando and go to Moonfish !!!

Beautiful, clean, great décor. The ceiling in the main dining room is gorgeous. I ordered the hand roll special, which the server said usually comes with a spicy tuna, a California mix and then whatever they have extra of– LOVE that… Mix it up a bit every day. The hand rolls were amazing, the nori was perfect texture, the sushi rice was delicious and there was the perfect ratio of ingredients, rice to fish to veggies. Loved it! We also got the big eye tuna tartare– soooo much black tobiko I was in heaven.

We were celebrating our son’s college graduation. We had the BEST table in the house. EVERYTHING, from the delicious cocktails to the fresh and tasty appetizers,(try the sushi), to the expertly cooked and beautifully presented entrees was top-notch. Xavier was a knowledgeable, friendly server. Management came by to make sure our experience was satisfactory. Although we were stuffed, I can never resist Crème Brulee, and coming from a Crème Brulee snob such as myself, I must say that it was in the top 3 overall I’ve ever had. I would highly recommend this dining experience to anyone. Thank you for the wonderful kick off to our celebratory weekend!

We were in town for a business convention and decided to hit a nice restaurant for one of our evenings out. Mixed group, some wanted seafood, some wanted steak. As we drove down«restaurant row» we decided on Moon Fish. We didn’t realize that reservations were recommended but we were sat at a high top in the bar immediately. I didn’t have any alcohol so I can’t attest to the drinks but everyone else drank, no one complained and ordered additional rounds so I am guessing they were good pours. We had the Calamari and Kung Pao Meatball appetizers, DELICIOUS. As for dinner we ordered a lot of the same, Swordfish, NY Strip, Top Sirlon. All plates were sent back clean. Not a bite left. Desserts were phenomenal. Key Lime Pie, Salted Caramel Cheesecake and a Chocolate Cake. Not on the inexpensive side at all but the atmosphere, ambience, our waiter and people made this an amazing dining experience.

I was invite here for a business dinner and wasn’t exactly thrilled about the hour plus drive I discovered after entering the address into my navigation system and even less thrilled when I came to a complete stop on I-4 as I entered Orlando’s city limits as the heavens opened up drowning the freeway extending my trip to just over two hours. As one would expect I wasn’t really thinking this would be much of an enjoyable experience in the middle of the week after working all day. As I entered the restaurant and took a look to the right at the refrigerated case displaying an impressive selection of seafood and steaks my attitude started trending towards a more positive view of the coming event. The hostess lead me to our reserved table for ten in a somewhat secluded corner of the restaurant which was only have filled and fortunately I arrive just in time to meet one of our servers which had already started taking drink order. Ketel One Martini — my perfectly crafted martini arrived in grand fashion, a chilled glass yet to be filled with two perfectly shaped cheese stuffed olives leaning on the side of the glass waiting to be submerged in what turned out to be a perfectly blend of vodka with a touch of olive juice, as the server shook the cobbler shaker ensuring Nolet Distillery’s finest was only seconds from crystallizing I was tempt to hold the glass while he emptied every drop from the frosted tin. The only word to describe this cocktail is «magnificent. Appetizers for the Table — when these arrived I think everyone started second guessing their entrée choices — oysters on the half-shell, slightly sear ahi tuna, colossal chilled shrimp, flash fried calamari and a assortment of sushi. I won’t go into detail of what I liked about the appetizers but«amazing» doesn’t do them justice. Chilean Sea Bass(Patagonian Toothfish) — that’s right there’s no such species, this cold water delectable fish was given its name as recent as the late 70’s, also known as the filet mignon of fish, tonight’s preparation was absolutely perfect the flesh was buttery and moist with the melt-in-your-mouth feel you’d expect, setting in a thin mild lemon butter sauce served with sticky rice, I’d definitely do this one again. Fire Roasted Cream Corn — no need to love the idea of cream corn to enjoy this creative Chef’s selection just order it and be prepared to become a convert, this isn’t the canned creamed corn your mom used to serve, these slightly charred kernels straight out of the salamander is infused in a fresh slightly seasoned cream base that enhanced this dish without covering the natural flavor of the fire roasted corn. Wok Fried Green Beans — these tender whole green bean are tossed in a well oiled wok and flashed fried to a perfect texture, with a slight undertone of seasoning that neutralizes the palette allowing the entrée to maintain its place as the featured dish. Moon Fish deservedly gets the fifth star, our very diverse group enjoyed the entire evening, with no mishaps, just a perfectly executed dinner service by the well trained staff both on the floor and in the kitchen, add in their commitment to sustainability combined with their Hormone Free, No Antibiotics products, you can bookmark this one.

Moonfish had a traditional steak and seafood house style, despite being located in a strip mall of sorts.(There was a valet, which seemed odd given the parking lot was right there, but okay?) The bread was delicious, and so was my steak and truffle potato wedges. The wedges were fried and crispy, very good! Great wine selection, and they did well managing a large party for sure. But I’m not quite sure what would bring me back here… it was just kind of par for the course for a steak and seafood house, from the décor and ambiance to the food. It was A-OK, and a solid choice I’d say if you wanted something traditional and a no-brainer. My coworkers loved the oysters too.

We started with Happy Hour at the bar. The truffle oysters and sushi were delicious. $ 4.00 wine! Dinner in the dining room was perfect. Our waitperson recommended her favorites and they are now our favorites!!! Lobster encrusted Trigger Fish, Cedar Plank Salmon, creamed corn, truffle fries, etc. Not only was the service fantastic but everything she recommended was omg good. If you go to this restaurant which I highly recommend ask for Alana. She was great! Can’t wait to go back to Orlando just to go to this restaurant and have Alana let us know what to order. Happy and full!

Our server, Kassie provided excellent service and was very knowledgable of the menus. She checked in often to ensure we enjoyed our dining experience. The warm bread, blue crab cream soup and lump crab meat stuffed shrimp and scallops was fresh and delicious. The restaurant was very accommodating with our special order. I will definitely revisit the next time I’m in Orlando.

She said it was delicious. We shared the grand marnier double chocolate cake for dessert. It was so freaking good!!! Would definitely come back again and again.

I will admit Moonfish was not my first choice. But a restaurant in the same shopping plaza was closed for a private event. I was on the verge of hangry, so we walked on over on a whim. My husband and I sat at the bar and were greeted promptly by who we thought was a manager. He was friendly and helpful and made some great recommendations. We were hitting the tail end of happy hour, so we decided to take advantage and order some appetizers. We ordered the garlic parm grilled oysters, lump blue crab, and kung pao meatballs. I’m still thinking about the lump crab. It was fresh and perfect for two people. The oysters were flavorful and great for those wo might not be ready for raw oysters. It’s a good compromise. The meatballs had a great zing and liked the peanuts for texture. I’m glad this happy accident happened. It was a great way to start out the night.

Moonfish has an amazing happy hour. Their drinks and food items are awesome taste wise and price wise. We had a nice selection of rolls, calamari, and other delectable appetizers. The price for two was less than $ 40!

My coworkers and I decided to go to Moon Fish based on a recommendation after the FRSA trade show at the convention center. We decided to order some drinks at the bar while waiting for our table. We all mutually agreed that we could not taste the alcohol in our drinks, when we mentioned this to our bartender — she justified it by saying it was because it was a single shot per glass. In our opinion, the glasses were relatively large for one shot of alcohol, it was probably a 500ml glass for one shot(1 — 1.5oz). As all 3 people who have difference tolerance for alcohol, mutually agreed we could not taste the liquor in our drinks. She gave us extra shots to pour in ourselves, BUT by then it was already an awkward start. We decided to move on and be seated. Instead it would have been nice if she just topped us off with some more alcohol no justifications needed. Great company with our team and customers! The ambiance was nice, a bit more lighting would have been better(as I personally found it too dark). The restaurant wasn’t too loud with music and there was no other conversations that overpowered ours — we are a relatively vocal group anyways!;) We ordered the sushi as appies and everyone LOVED it, even for the odd one that didn’t like sushi — I believe he could be converted;) The lobster roll was a table favourite and what a great way to bond over food:) As a starter salad, I asked for dressing on the side and it came with dressing on top, but our waiter was great and got me a new salad without having to ask me. I was pleased by the initiative of the waiter to pick up on this without me having to mention it. I ordered the Grouper, it was good the fish was a bit more flakey than I expected: however, the seasoning was very flavourful. The desserts were OK, nothing special. Key Lime Pie was the best out of the 3 desserts we ordered. I do like the concept of having the desserts show cased on a tray for guests to see, it definitely a great selling tool.
