Great live music after visiting the amusement park! Wished I wasn’t tired from a day of running the half marathon to enjoying the amusement park to getting a chance to return to our hotel and listening to awesome live music. This is a lounge/hotel bar so if you would like to enjoy a nice cocktail or alcoholic drink then this is the place and just around the corner is the food factory that serves food until midnight and across the way is the main lobby & registration/check-in area of Disney Port Orleans French Quarter. The performers of last night weren’t playing any jazz or New Orleans style of music they had been performing wide ranges of music old rock to up to date music. They are great performers. This is a small, intimatr and quaint type of spot so they only serve small appetizers and drinks.

It’s not often that you want to hang out at the hotel bar. This place was different. We decided to have a few beers here one night after hanging out by the pool bar with our friends on the Riverside and we didn’t feel like going back to our room. We heard some music playing and followed it to the lobby. The inside bar was filled with people & laughter that scattered to the ‘patio’ where you had a more personal feel. We grabbed a table and ordered a few local beers. I immediately smelled something cooking and could feel my belly saying ‘bar food please!’ Luckily this place has a small menu they serve until midnight. A lot of typical things like flatbread or wings sounded good but something in particular stood out to me: fried pimento cheese balls over a sweet & spicy pepper sauce. Our server only confirmed my suspicions on this item when she told me she orders it almost daily & it’s why she gained 20 pounds. Get me in on that now! I put in an order and awaited this unique dish. I can’t even describe how good these damn balls were. Seriously, pimento cheese is delicious and should be used way more often. One order gets you four of these perfectly fried and crispy glorious balls over a sweet chili and red pepper sauce that was the exact right amount of sweet & spicy… and complemented the cheese balls to a tee. You cut into these and they ooze but stay together; dip it all up in that sauce and BAM! New favorite bar food. I could have eaten 12. We had an excellent night out and came back here a few other times based on that night. Everything we tried was delicious and we had great service. I got a killer margarita one night that I was surprised by. Wish I could bring this place home with me! Or at least the cheese balls.

This bar is located in the Port Orleans French Quarter. We became regulars here, it’s small, intimate and service was generally entertaining, however it was not on purpose. Our server seemed to have a bit of a memory problem. Bless her. Every snack we tried was good and so were the draft beer choices.

It was nice to have this place to go to for a drink(or two or three) in our French Quarter resort. Do know they only have one bartender(it’s a small bar, so understandable). That being said getting drinks will require patience, as there’s a place to order at the bar that involves standing in line for awhile. There is NO table service, and I don’t know if the bartender would even serve you at the bar unless you are standing at the«order» part. While we were there, entertainment was Tom Casey who plays a keyboard and sings a WIDE variety of tunes. We found him to be considerate enough to play to the majority. On Saturday night, for instance, he leaned more rockish(Springsteen’s Born to Run was the best), while on Monday night we enjoyed Sinatra type tunes. He’s not the best singer on the planet, and is fairly devoid of personality, but it was still nice to have live music.

This was one of those«let’s go explore» finds. Scat Cats is located inside the lobby of Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter. The beer selection is really good(better than most of the Disney bars) and there seems to normally be some live music when we go. I’m not sure what it is about the bar, but the couple of times we’ve gone it seems to draw an older crowd. which is fine by me because that means they are watching the performer and I can get beer quicker!
