The citrus swirl is pretty amazing, altho the employee who helped us had an awful attitude. Seemed like she was furious to be there. If Guerda is working, beware, she’s got a bad temper.

Sip on some beauty with a delicious citrus swirl – a tasty soft-serve ice cream blended with frozen juice. Also, be sure to sample some some of the other refreshments, including a raspberry lemonade slush.

How can you not like a great Dole whip on a hot day. Always a line but well worth the wait. The pineapples is much better than the orange. Now they have a Tiki cup to take home for $ 10.

This was only my second trip to the Florida parks I’ve read enough park blogs that have described that this«citrus whip» is like the forgotten step child of the Dole Whip.(I’m a Disneyland, California girl and have had my fair share of Dole Whips.) On my way to Sunshine Tree Terrace, I passed by Aloha Aisle where the line was at least 25 folks deep. Luckily for me Sunshine Tree Terrace was practically a walk up. The citrus whip tasted like an orange creamsicle. Although, it’s not as refreshing as a Dole Whip, it’s still very enjoyable. My only complaint is that it melted so fast. I briskly walked back to where my family was chilling out(near the Country Bear Jamboree) and it was practically a thin shake! If you’re a Disneyland, California visitor give the«citrus whip» a go!

This is my wife’s new favorite treat at Disney World. Yes, I know the treat is not new, but her love of it is. We must have missed this spot when we were growing up I guess. I had her try Dole Whip and then we got the Citrus Swirl. Citrus Swirl for the win!

You have to get a dole whip float when you come to Disney. It’s refreshing and it’s delicious. My only complaint is that at Disneyland you can get a dole whip and take it into the Enchanted Tiki Room. That’s not allowed here so don’t plan on that like we did. Otherwise it’s a wonderful afternoon treat. Edit: Oh, I guess here they call it a pineapple float instead of dole whip float.

Love this citrus swirl !!! I’ve been coming to the Sunshine Bird stand since I was a child. I like the orange freeze by itself without the ice cream swirled in. It’s tart and tangy plus refreshing on a hot day. It used to be located by the Tiki Room but they recently moved it to the old Dole stand across from The Robinson Tree House. I’ve been told before I could get the Orange unless I got a swirl and after I explained there are three handles to get ice cream on one and orange on the other then swirl in the middle. Then it clicked in the employees head and it was understood she could give me orange only. WOW! Lol! I like the old location but I’ll take it at the new as long as they don’t get rid of it again!

Not only do they not tell customers that there are no Dole Whips here until they get to the register, apparently it is an impossible request to ask for 2 items they sell(iced coffee and vanilla soft serve) in one cup.(Which was an item that was served in Adventureland a couple months ago.) Dissappointing because I was very much looking forward to this eating this float that I had at the end of January, that is now unable to be constructed.

Ordered citrus swirl soft serve and vanilla soft serve for $ 3.69 each. The vanilla one was better than the citrus one. The citrus swirl was bitter and had a weird aftertaste. It was probably one of the worst soft serves I have ever tasted. They also have lemonade, piña colada slush and raspberry lemonade slush. 1 star! Never again… Sunshine Tree Terrace is not yummylicious!

Sunshine Tree Terrace is located across from the Magic Carpets of Aladdin. While their food isn’t horrible(stay away from Columbia Harbor House… gag:-|, I’ll write that in another review), they’ve added a popular treat to there menu… Dole Whip! Apparently Aloha Isles has been having lines that wrap almost half way around the kiosk just to get some of that pineapple soft serve that you’d think people were waiting to get on a ride, or waiting for the seatings of the newest show… lol! So I guess that the light bulbs in there heads finally went off and they decided to add this yummy treat to their menus as well at the beginning of the month. If you’re not in the mood for some Dole Whip they do offer the Citrus Swirl here as well. Both of these would make a nice cool refreshing snack on a hot day. :-)

One of my favorite treats to get at Any Disney resort. Stopped by the stand and waited roughly 20 minutes. Got the pineapple and vanilla whip with pineapple juice. SO delicious, I demolished my float in minutes. Definitely worth the wait and the ~$ 5!

Slush/Ice cream is fine but they are SOSLOW. Two people running 4 windows. Took over 20 minutes for 5 people.

Next to the Tiki-Tiki-Tiki-Tiki-Tiki Room lies one of my favorite pieces of Floridiana, a Little Orange Bird in a Sunshine Tree selling(relatively) healthy swirls of sweet, soft-serve ice cream layered with tangy frozen orange juice. Orange Bird wasn’t a movie star like Mickey and the gang. Created in the early 70s as the mascot of the Florida Citrus Commission for Walt Disney World appearances and commercials, Orange Bird was uniquely Floridian. He had a theme song, character appearances, and a story book. More importantly, he had his unique little ice cream stand in Adventureland that always gave me the unique feeling that there was something special about just being in Florida. After 25 years of absence, Orange Bird is back, and the treats are tasty as ever. I know some of you in the«meh» crowd are thinking, «I tried a Citrus Swirl once. It was no Dole Whip,» and you’re right. Some stick with Dole Whips their entire lives and feel no need to change, and that’s okay. Dole Whips are mighty tasty. For some of us, though, the Citrus Swirl is THE superior Adventureland frozen treat. Is investing the $ 3.50 in a Citrus Swirl right for you? If you like remembering that you’re in Florida, not a Hawaiian pineapple plantation, grab a Citrus Swirl. If you like your sweet contrasted with tart instead of surrounded by a different kind of sweet, again, go for the Citrus Swirl. If you grew up in Florida. If you road tripped as a child and remember counting the mile markers until you were welcomed by a free sip of orange juice to celebrate leaving Georgia. If you refuse to call the game in January the«Capital One Bowl.» If you just have an old soft spot in your heart for the one silent little Disney character who didn’t fit in with the rest, and who didn’t really need to, walk around the ginormous spitting camel statue and enjoy a treat with an old friend.

Just returned from WDW and my family of 4 all tried the Citrus Swirl, as we wanted to compare it to the Dole Whips, and I had read a blog that voted the Citrus Swirl the #1WDW treat… First off, there was barely a line at the walk up window — as opposed to crazy long lines for the Dole Whips. By the looks of these I expected these to taste like a creamsicle, but the frozen orange juice is very tart. I think these would’ve been more refreshing/appreciated in the heat of a 90 degree day, but we had it in the late evening after a day of rain. While I thought they were good, In the end the Dole Whips won out with my family by a long shot.

Citrus swirls and the Orange Bird make this place a must stop. It’s pretty cool that Disney embraced its history and brought the actual Orange Bird statue back to the Terrance(it’s located by the crates of oranges). I also love the Orange Bird sipee cups. I want one but I felt awkward drinking out of the kid’s cup and it’s a little pricey for a plastic cup. There really is no better way to cool off in the Florida heat than having a nice creamy, orangey swirl. They are still as good as ever and a bigger portion than the measy Dole Whips they’ve been handing out recently.

The only reason to REALLY go to Sunshine Tree Terrace is for the infamous citrus swirl that’s made it’s way back to Magic Kingdom. I admit that I’m still a bigger fan of the dole whip floats across the way at Aloha Isle though. And the orange bird collector cups are pretty darn cute! The key lime pie looked really good but I haven’t had a chance to try it yet!

Skip the orange slush /ice cream. I am glad the orange bird is back, but the orange slush thing tastes like it belongs back in the 80s(and not the cool back to the future kind)

They’ve recently expanded their menu here to include meal items. They have orange chicken with rice which is pretty good(the same as over at the Tomorrowland Noodle Station) and an asian bbq sandwich(I still prefer the bbq sammie over at Pecos in Frontierland). They’ve also added a tuna croissant, an asian salad with chicken, an asian pineapple salad, and key lime pie. They still have soft serve ice cream and floats, but don’t get it from here. Since you’re already in Adventureland, walk down to Aloha Isle and grab yourself a Dole Whip! Again with the weird hours at this stand. I think they stop serving around 4pm.
