The good: portion size is huge, food tastes good(better than average on most dishes) The bad: wish it had nicer interior, no beer, cannot upgrade white rice to brown on meals I will be back again though for some Singapore noodles.

I never, NEVER, order pork at a Chinese restaurant. Memories of my mother telling me not to eat pork unless she cooks it for me because I’ll, you know, die. But today I went for the BBQ pig with crispy skin on rice(No. 47). Very good — great portion for about $ 10. I went for the tiny container of peanut sauce on the pork rather than the strange oil offered in a larger quantity. This was the right decision. The pork was not dry at all and the skin was a nice crunch to offset the rice. The service was good; I noticed everyone was greeted and seated with efficiency. One woman started vacuuming while I was there. Some diners might not like that disturbance, but I was fine with it because a filthy restaurant should not get anyone’s business. I walked in and noticed about 3 or 4 large families eating — in addition to at least half a dozen take-out orders being picked up. You know a place is good when you notice other people digging it too — while you’re there. I would return for the house fried rice and maybe something a bit more adventurous because I’m pretty sure I’d love it here.

Tasty wok always hit the spot especially on a Sunday morning after a night out. I rave about this place to all my friends who asks where they should go eat when in Orlando.

The food was absolutely amazing!!! My husband and I ordered Salt and Pepper fried ribs and the Beef and Chinese broccoli. Both dishes were delicious but the fried ribs stole the show! I would’ve given this review 5 stars if the restaurant was cleaner, and if the waitress was more attentive(at least she was friendly). The(complementary) jasmine tea was OK. We can’t wait to go back to explore the rest of the menu

Update: Tasty Wok has been on the regular rotation list ever since my first review. The house fried rice is still one of my favorites, as is the General Tso’s chicken and now the Pan fried noodles(choose your meat)! The food is fantastic, but the service is even better. Even though it’s always busy here, the staff especially the man who helps with seating(I think he’s the owner) is so friendly! No, they don’t have time for small talk, but they do ensure that your food is fresh, flavorful and that your table is tended to. What more could you want?

We used to come here a lot and we even know the owner — his name is Peter We just learnt that Peter is retired and he sold this restaurant to other owner There were new chefs in the kitchen and the foods are diffrerent We are OK with the diffrerent cooking as long as they are better however the food here are not — we ordered the wonton soup which was ok — it can be better The fried rice are 12.95 and way much expensive compared to other restaurants in same area The combination fried noodles are good but there are more chicken than anythings else

This place has became one of my faverate place in colonial drive Orlando . I never had authentic Chinese for decades ever since I moved away from Thailand. The restaurant is very small. On the weekend the place is packed and quite few waiting outside. I LOVE their roasted duck noodles. Its very simple just egg noodles and fresh vegetables but it’s always amazing !!! I order it everytime I go there. Since I was staying in Orlando for few days for business trip, I was able to order something else than my usual duck … I ordered few to go order for my lunch and dinner for the next day. Finally had Beef Chow Fun that everyone are talking about. It would have been better if wasn’t as oily. It was good but I couldn’t finish it all because it was so oily. Singapore noodles was really good. It was with shrimp and roasted pork. I haven’t had their hot and sour soup yet(it’s in my fridge) I’m going to assume it’s good :) Defiantly going back there anytime I get a chance !!

Just about every Sunday, my husband and I order from Doorstep Delivery in search of hangover cures. They say greasy food does the trick in soaking up all the alcohol. For me, my go-to is soup. After reminiscing on my mom’s arroz caldo, a Filipino porridge soup only eaten during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays in my family, I decided to try Tasty Wok’s congee. The base of it is almost exactly the same as the Filipino version. The only difference is that we make ours with chicken, fresh ginger and then top it with fried garlic, a dash of soy sauce and a squeeze of lemon juice. I ordered theirs with lean pork and a fermented egg. I also thought the shrimp wonton soup looked like a nice hangover cure so I ordered that one too. Both were equally delicious and exactly what I was looking for. I started with the shrimp wonton soup first. The wontons were delicate and fresh tasting and the shrimp were large and cooked perfectly. Not rubbery and it didn’t taste like it was frozen either. The broth was perfectly seasoned. It also came with veggies which helped give me the nutrients I needed. Next, I tried the congee. It was delicious and reminded me of my mom’s. I had a couple bites of it how it came and then I tried it with the classic Filipino toppings to see how closely I could get it to taste like hers. It tasted almost the same but I think the big difference was not having any ginger. However, it still tasted great. There were small lean pieces of pork and the fermented egg didn’t have much of a taste so I was happy about that and was glad I got some extra protein in as well. I would definitely order both of these soups again and not in a hung over state either. I now have a place to order arroz caldo albeit called a different name, but nonetheless a place where I can pretend to have my mom’s home cooking.

The Unilocal reviews for Tasty Wok are accurate! The food is good, the service is good, the location is okay, parking options are sufficient(if you arrive on a non-peak time), the restaurant has a small footprint with slightly dated décor, and the cost-to-value for their dinner entrees is reasonable. My daughter and I ordered 2 dinner entrees: Chicken and Broccoli, and General Tso’s chicken(not spicy). Our meals came with a bowl of white rice for us to share. I only ate about ½ of my General Tso’s because I got tried of chewing through the breading. That’s not to say it wasn’t very tasty, but I knew that if I kept going, I’d have digestion issues later. Fortunately, my daughter had eaten a late lunch and was relatively full so she only ate ½ of her Chicken and Broccoli and gave me the rest. The Chicken and Broccoli was excellent! The sauce was slightly saltier than I expected, but nothing to complain about. With both our meals, the broccoli really shined — fresh, well seasoned, and cooked /steamed just right. If you’re looking for some high quality fresh Chinese food, this is the spot.

Authentic Chinese restaurant(not the Chinese take out type) where you can either order dishes and share with friends or get combo dishes that are good for 1. My friend got the Roast Duck combo rice dish for $ 7.95 I think? And the portion was huge! It came with meat, rice, and a side of veggie. I got the Shrimp Wonton noodle soup and it was perfect for a cold day. We also got the Jelly fish as an appetizer. The only complaint I have is that the appetizer came got a lot later than the main dishes. Seating is limited, I came around 5:30 and there was moderate amount of people. But I have come before where I had to wait outside for a table. Overall, a great place that reminds me of all my childhood dishes my mom use to make

I am definitely a fan of this place! Very tasty Chinese food! I split the roasted duck, pork char siu, scallion pancakes and general tso’s chicken with my husband on our recent visit for dinner. The restaurant is fairly small and can be a little difficult to move between the tables. We were seated right away and service was very attentive, almost a little too much. They are quick with drinks, refills and food. We ordered and everything came out piping hot and quick! The scallion pancakes were my least favorite. They were extremely greasy and didn’t really taste like much. The pork char siu was incredible! So tender and flavorful. Definitely my favorite out of everything. The duck was tasty but I had a hard time eating it with the fatty skin(It tasted great chopped up and reheated the next day). The general tso’s chicken was amazing. The best I’ve ever had at any Chinese restaurant. The chicken was crispy outside and tender inside. It came with a huge side of white rice and some broccoli. I will be going back the next time I am craving Chinese food!

My go-to spot for Chinese food in Orlando. Staff is always quick to greet and seat you in the small space– sometimes you can see various cooks sitting down resting at the tables from the register chatting with the servers in Cantonese. I always order either the Ma Po Tofu(sans pork and so deliciously spicy and savory) or Salt and Pepper Shrimp. Both come with the standard bowl of white rice. You’ll leave feeling extremely full and most likely with leftovers(which they’ll package up in foam containers and tie the bag in a cute little bow). It’s priced inexpensively for the portion and quality you get and I love the service there.

I saw this place listed on my friend’s blog and decided to give them a try. We walked in and were seated immediately. After looking over the menu for about 2 minutes, the server came over and just asks«Are you ready to order?» My wife just ordered some hot water with lemon and I asked for unsweet tea with lime if you have it. She said she did and off she went. The server returns with our drinks and I have a lemon in my tea. She now informs me they do not have lime. I let her know we had never been here before and asked what she recommends… She did not seem to understand what I was asking her so I started asked about a couple of things I read about and it was pretty clear she did not fully understand what I was saying and asked for a few more minutes out of frustration. I went over to see the roasted duck in the case and one of the other servers approached me and I asked how they were prepared and she either didn’t know or didn’t understand what I was asking. I went and sat back down and a third server comes over and she seemed to know the menu and was a bit more helpful. My wife just ordered the fried pork with jalapeño she recommended and I chose the combo with duck and pork. I also ordered the beef appetizer. Mama wantes some hot n sour soup but all they offered was a big bowl according to the server so she passed on it. A few minutes later the appetizer and my entrée show up and nothing for my wife. I asked why it was being brought all at once and was told they just bring it out as it is prepared. I just bit my tongue and after about 5 minutes someone checks on us and we asked about my wife’s food. A few minutes later it finally arrives. We got the impression that they do a lot of take out and that sit down service is what it is so we just dug in. The appetizer was OK but I expected a bit more flavor. The meat was quite tender but a bit light on the seasoning. The chili paste we were given helped to add some flavor. The duck had a nice flavor and texture but it was pretty apparent they make it in advance and just cut it to order. The pork also had a good flavor but you could tell it was made in advance. My wife’s fried pork was nice but it was a little bit too salty. Other than too much salt it was cooked well and had a good flavor. Atmosphere — 3 Service — 2 Food knowledge — 2 Appetizer — 3(a bit bland) Roast Duck — 4(not very warm) BBQ Pork — 3(not very warm) Fried Pork — 3(too salty) After we finished eating we were approached by the owner. She was very nice my taking pictures of my meal seemed to catch her attention. She appeared to be testing my knowledge of Asian cooking to try to learn more about me. If I was in the area, would I return there? Probably not because there are lot of other Asian restaurants in the area. What you see in the photos came to $ 34 and for the same amount of money there are better options in walking distance in that price point.

I’ve found the service here to be extremely rude. I came in with a friend and the waitresses pretty much refused to acknowledge me or my order. They instead turned to my friend(who is clearly of asian ethnicity) and asked him what I ordered. He answered in english but they still refused to take my order at all. He had to order for me. The food came out VERY greasy and not what I ordered. I believe I had some vegetarian noodle broth and it was obviously not vegetarian and very blatantly smelled of meat. I could see the waitresses laughing so that put me off even further. I will not be back.

One of my favorites in the Mills50 area. We love the Ma Po Tofu here!!! I recommend trying it if you never had it. It’s chunks of soft Tofu(we get it with pork, too) in this amazing and super tasty brown sauce. You can get it spicy or mild. Oh my gosh, me and my husband can eat this whole dish to ourselves, but it is a lot. You’re supposed to share it and it comes with rice. We also enjoy getting the Salt and Pepper dishes. It depends on your mood/preference, there’s either Seafood or Spare ribs. Just thinking about it and writing this, I want to go order some. LOL. The seafood comes with scallops, shrimp and squid. It’s evenly coated with salt and pepper and fried goodness. I love lobe love the snow pea tips that are seasoned and cooked in the garlic sauce. You can also get the Chinese broccoli(Broccoli Rob) another vegetable available. My husband loves the pan fried noodles with beef. My kids can tear up the super tender beef in it! Come here if you want great Chinese food(not fast food) with real Chinese food, servers and owners.

Always on the hunt for good Chinese food takeout around the corner so we tried Tasty Wok on recommendation of a friend. Placed a to-go order over the phone and was told it would be ready in 15. We ordered the Beef Chow Fun which is wide egg noodles, stir fried beef, egg and vegetables in a brown sauce. The sauce was soy based and not overly salty and there was decent quality beef in good size pieces. The portion size was fine for the price point and quality. I’d order it again. I also tried the Singapore rice noodles with curry which was a good balance of yellow curry sauce, scallion, onions with shrimp, chicken and roasted pork. Both dishes came with a small container of pepper sauce which was really spicy but complimented the curry which was much more mild in season. The woman who checked me out wasn’t overly friendly she just asked my name and handed me a check with very few words. She handed me my food and not even a thank you so I turned and walked out like. I’d still go back for take out… The food was good enough and maybe next time she will be in a better mood.
