Solid choice in Orlando – Timpano pleased our whole gang. Standouts included a great veal chop, excellent chicken marsala, superb broccolini, and a great starter dish of mussels on a sizzling platter. Solid wine selection, too. What Timpano gives up in originality it more than makes up for with excellent food, attentive service, and a very solid modern Italian presentation. Probably the best meal we ate in Orlando this week!

I come here once a year when I attend an annual tradeshow. The Skillet Roasted Mussels are a must and the best thing on the menu. I highly recommend trying it if you ever stop by this restuarant. The rest of the food is good. heard the Veal Chops were fantastic but I have not tried it yet.

This is the second time we used Timpano’s for a large party dinner. Pros: — Great wait staff — Great appetizers(mussles, bruschetta, meatballs) — Nice room in the back with the doors open we had a view of the lake — Live music Cons: — Use the valet since the parking is full from the huge crowd at the restaurant next door. — Main course of steak, fish and osso bucco were OK. Not bad, but no where near great.

We went to have a nice dinner. Little did I realize it would last so long. Dinner took over 2.5 hours and the kids finished their food 30 minutes before the adults got theirs. And then when my dinner came, my food was cold. Let’s just say this was one of the most disappointing dinners I have had in a long time. Then, when the manager asked how dinner was, he just walked away when I told him about the dinner.

What a great restaurant. Great location over looking lake. We had a private room, we had nine in our party. We started with the mussels, they were truly amazing, coated with the right amount of salt. The bread and the sun dried tomato/oil dipping sauce was fantastic, I think we had 4 – 5 servings. The chopped salad was good but the real star is the BLT salad it has Maple Cajun Bacon, Arugula, House made Mozzarella and Vine Ripened Tomatoes in a Dijon Vinaigrette, it’s something that shouldn’t be missed. I had the bone in rib eye, it was full flavor and very tender. The crispy chicken and the chicken piccata were both very good. Good service, A real New York vibe in Orlando. I will be back soon.

I wanted pasta. Fresh pasta. I had been eating too much seafood/steak. I wanted pasta. So I found this Timpano place on Unilocal. It’s good. Real good. I had the spaghetti with meatballs(veal, pork) and it was super awesome! I loved the dish. Large portion. Fresh pasta right out of the grinder. The appetizer — calamari — was fresh and tasty, too. Pulled right out of the ocean taste(although the portion was small). I still had plenty to eat. The sun dried tomato/oil dipping sauce for the bread was a nice touch. Loved the décor — movie posters, classic Hollywood portraits, dark wood Italian — very nice experience. Prices were moderate.

Service was just bad. Kitchen was a bit slower than usual but our server was slower. We were without anything to drink on 2 occasions. Waited too long for the bill, then waited longer after we noticed we were charged for drinks we didn’t get. Food was amazing but the overall experience was damaged by terrible service.

This was my second visit to this long-standing Restaurant Row spot. It still retains the noisy New York Italian Sinatra atmosphere and the interior impresses. My partner and I had a couple of near disasters with liquids. First, we told our waiter before our wine order that our wobbly table needed to be fixed. Still, he brought the wine, opened and poured it before leveling the table. We were forced to hold onto our wine and water glasses while he did that. Knowing we were miffed, our service for the rest of the evening was curt. Second, a drunken woman in a drunken party next to us came close to knocking our entire table over. An appetizer of bruschetta was not especially satisfying. I prefer Olive Garden’s bruschetta. My Minestrone soup and main course of Shrimp Fra Diavolo were quite good. My partner’s soup of the day, a cream of chicken was sorely lacking in flavor. His Chicken Parmesan he rated 8 ½ stars, but the accompanying spaghettini was lukewarm and also not well seasoned. They could try harder.

Met a couple for dinner that we hadn’t seen for awhile, and quite quickly realized this was not the place to have a «catch up on your life» conversation. We were seated at a half round table, which was bad enough, but then add on the volume from the live music and the chatter of large dinner parties and it was just a meal. Our server pushed and pushed to get our table turned over, which was annoying, but we didn’t succumb to her pushiness. 3 stars because the food was really good. Mussels and shrimp cocktail appetizers, soup, and then the lasagna, crispy chicken and veal piccata were great. Would really like to go back as the lasagna was really good, but not sure I can take the noise. They also served great martinis and the wine selection was good, although the pour was a bit scant.

This place was highly recommended by some coworkers, so three of us came here after work for dinner. Overall, it was an elegant dining experience. Good service, pleasant ambience, and great Italian food. We had the mussels as an appetizer, and my friends raved about it. I’m not a huge mussel fan, but I thought they were tasty enough. Ordered the chicken parm as an entrée and thought it was excellent. My friends echoed my sentiments that this is a great place for a business meal, or if you’re looking for good food in the Orlando area. A little pricey, but worth it. We called about 45 mins in advance to make a reservation on a Tuesday night. YMMV on a busier night.

I though the food here was Just«Ok» Not worth the prices for sure. Only reason it get 3 stars is because of the fact that can request more of your pasta plate as many times as you want, If not it would’ve gotten 2 starts from me. Very nice place inside with contemporary décor.

After some sub-par experiences at some other«name» steakhouses our little group went away from«the tourist strip» to this suburb location. It was nothing less than WONDERFUL! Service with Matthew was totally outstanding and was delivered with a light sense of humor which we really enjoyed. They are known for fried mussles, which I had never heard of prepared this way. Matthew brought out a sizzling, splattering platter mounted on a stand. Those little black guys were wide open, sitting in a flavored olive oilish mix awaiting for our attack. And attack we did ooooooing and exclaiming how good they were. You will see. The meats were not from a grocery store of Sysco, but probably from some private rancher who only sold to Timpano. Soft, flavorful, cooked perfectly and just pure pleasure to eat. Throw in some wine, cocktails and great company and you have the perfect meal that you can enjoy for as long as you want without any push to turn your table. One small point: they have, we were told, about 18 cameras throughout the restaurant for security. If you are in the witness protection program, on the lamb or dining with someone you want to keep secret, ask ahead of time if you can have a more private table. But this is one of the very best of the steak houses in Orlando. I look forward to my next business trip.

I absolutely adore coming here, I’ve been several times already. From the time I walk through the door till the time I leave it’s always a comfortable and relaxing experience. You can enjoy them for business lunches or dinners with friends and still have the same atmosphere and hospitality. DEFINITELYTRY: –Hot Iron Mussels –Lobster Ravioli(all pasta dishes are unlimited!!!) –Peter Lawford(available only during lunch time) I will definitely be coming back! 2 thumbs up!!!

I, for one, didn’t quite understand why all the hosting staff members were female and why it seemed to be a requisite that their black uniforms have a hem line that skirted the boundary of decency. No, I’m not a prude; I just prefer to enjoy my meals without the overwhelming feeling that I’m dining amidst compulsory sexuality. If I wanted that, I’d’ve gone to Hooters. Otherwise, my meal at Timpano was perfectly respectable. The server handled my 17-top efficiently(with the help, of course, of some other servers as necessary). The jazz music playing from the bar could be heard throughout the dining room, creating an enjoyable atmosphere. The separation of my table from the rest of the dining area encouraged the festive feeling of my dining companions, as we had come to celebrate a birthday. The food had its highs(mussels, I’m looking at you), but, generally, I felt it was pretty average. I really enjoyed my house chop salad, but the flat bread I ordered was rather bland. The calamari struck me as entirely conventional; the tuna tartar, pedestrian. The onion rings( ) came stacked one on top of another, clownishly, on a metal rod, shocking(and kind of horrifying) many a diner at my table; the mustard-based dip that came with them, however, was delicious. For the price of all the food, I can’t say the dinner was entirely worth it as an experience, but I’m feeling liberal today, so three stars, it is.

Whoever designed the lighting in the women’s restroom was not female or a gay man – the lighting disappoints. How are you supposed to check your make up in super dim light? The atmosphere is classy and grown up. The food is ok, nothing that really wows me.. . Some in my party felt the portion sizes could have been bigger for the price. We actually reserved a private room for a birthday party and everything turned out really well. The space is nice, service could have been more attentive, but as always, the people you’re with, always makes it a hit!

Overall I felt a lil frustrated with the food selections in Orlando but I have to say Timpano was a bright spot amongst many a mediocre chain restaurant and seafood buffet. I highly recommend the calamari and the Ocean’s 11 cocktail. The service was friendly and attentive and the wine list was pretty comprehensive. The back patio provided a pleasant dining experience looking out across the over sized puddle, I mean lake, almost made you feel like you were on the beach. Almost…

This review is only about the mussels. I’ve been there twice since it’s a bit pricey and it was on my dime lol. Both times I’ve ordered the mussels(which I NEVER liked before trying them here) and they were mind blowing. Cooked in a skillet with lemon butter and salt and I myself had 4 orders because they were just that amazing. Their food is good. I’ve had better for the price and the portions they give. I’ve had their pasta, a few other starters but the mussels are really the only reason I drive 30 minutes from my home to the traffic that is 1 – 4 and Sand Lake… it’s worth every grueling minute. I’d recommend just sitting in their lounge, getting some wine and ordering as many orders as you can handle. I spent $ 100 on mussels alone lol. Yes, they really are that good.

The skillet mussels are awesome; gotta get those if you go. Service is very good as well, and generally very attentive. Overall, everything here is surprisingly affordable, under $ 35 a person. The martinis are a bit expensive at $ 11 each, and the steaks/salads are usual overpriced steakhouse pricing… but the rest of the main courses are very fair, at $ 18-$ 25. Wine list is large, but the beer list, per most of the restaurants I’ve been to in Orlando, sucks. When will restaurants realize that craft beer is just as important as a wine list? The have a ravioli & pasta special every night, and it’s one place that I’d recommend saving some room for dessert because it looks awesome.

It’s been a few years since I last visited Timpano’s Italian Chophouse. The delay in my return was intentional because I always found the food pleasant but uninspired in the past. With the passage of time, and a few menu changes, however, Timpano’s now offers a great lunch! I visited today with a friend. Our server, Jennie, was a delight and her service was above all criticism. She was attentive without being annoying and responsive without giving us the impression that she was rushing. Jennie brought us fresh, hot from the oven rolls to start our meal. Usually I do not indulge in breads but hot bread served with balsamic vinegar and olive oil is difficult to resist. I did not try and polished off two rolls, a wonderful decadence for me. For lunch, I ordered mahi sliders – three tiny blackened mahi sandwiches served with a spicy mayonnaise, lettuce and tomato. Fresh blackened mahi is tough to beat and the fish in my sliders were swimming in an ocean until they made it to my table – as fresh as can be! Served with a side of fries, my meal was sufficiently carb-heavy that I felt a little guilty after finishing, but not too guilty that I resisted the urge to have a tiny chocolate cake slider served with a very tiny scoop of fresh mint ice cream. It may have been the most perfectly sized, palate cleansing end to a meal that I have ever enjoyed. My companion ordered chicken parm sliders and a similar dessert, both of which pleased him. The entire meal, including tip came in at under $ 33. Timpano’s is a great value for a business lunch and a great dining experience for those among us who like to eat, and I know that I am not alone in this regard!
