Great place for a weekend. Rented a two bedroom condo with full kitchen and two bathrooms. The beds were very comfortable and the the pillows were fantastic. I’m not a fan of feather pillows and there were none. While the kitchen was a little small it had everything we needed and the resort had a basket with goodies in it for us. While we did not use them I was impressed the resort had two gas grills for guests to use. I thought the pool was a little small for the size of the resort, but everything was clean and well maintained. Wished they had some fire pits but who knows what plans they may have for the future. There is a café/bar located at the resort but we did not eat/drink there so sorry but no idea if good or bad. The beach was fantastic and there was a life guard station right next to the resort. There is also a ship wreck right off their beach. All in all I would definitely recommend this resort.

First, this is not a review to bash the property by any means. This is a 3 star property. The building is very old. However, Bluegreen resorts has done a very good job at reconditioning what they could without actually just tearing down the whole thing and starting over. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The amenities are sparse but, for what they are, convenient. There is a bar/restaurant that is ocean front next to the pool. The rooms are clean and they have done what they could to make it as modern looking as possible. It’s just still has that old Florida concrete bunker feel to it. The balconies are side by side so there is no privacy when you’re out on your balcony and a guest next to you is out, as well. It feels like you’re sitting on a park bench next to a stranger. The bathroom is as basic as it can get. Toilet seat right next to a bathtub which is connected to a stand up shower stall. Walls are white with no art, but clean. Same goes with room carpet and the furniture. The bedroom is placed at the oceanfront end of the unit so you do get a nice view of the ocean when you go to bed at night. The balcony is right off of the bedroom. There is available parking on the grounds that is free and it is located underneath the hotel so it is covered. There were plenty of luggage dollies available to use that were in the garage so we didn’t have to hunt them down. The hotel is located in a driving zone of the beach. I grew up in Myrtle Beach South Carolina and it still is very bizarre for me to see cars driving on the beach. It just doesn’t seem relaxing or natural. Ormond Beach reminds me of what Myrtle Beach looked like in the 80s when I was there as a child. We stayed at the resort since my inlaws are members of Bluegreen resort, so it was FREE. That is why we chose this property. It was also ranked a four and a half star property on Unilocal.Again, not close 4 ½ stars. We stayed at the BlueGreen resort at the World Golf Center in St Augustine just prior coming hrre and felt the property was much nicer since it was still relatively new. When we travel we usually stay at Marriott resorts and we stay at Palace Resorts when we go to Mexico. Those are 4 – 5 star resorts. All in all, it was a decent vacation. We are just spoiled brats and have come to be a customed to a bit more luxury when we do vacation. :^p

I have been to many blue green resorts around the east coast, but this one was my favorite so far! Each room has a beachside view with balcony! I watched the sunrise every morning from my own room! As with every resort you also receive the kitchen amenities and televisions. However, the bathrooms here include a tub and a separate shower. The master bedroom also had a whirlpool tub! There is a large pool and a nice sized hot tub overlooking the beach. Nothing was ever too crowded which made it the ideal spot! There was also corn hole and ping pong. We were never bored! The parrot lounge in the lobby had karaōke night on Monday and I had a blast! We also won some prizes which I really enjoyed! I enjoyed complimentary coffee each morning that was freshly brewed. Love that!!! The staff was super accommodating and always greeted us with a smile! I love this place! Also you aren’t too far from Daytona beach and all the shops. It is the perfect location for a getaway!

Casa Del Mar is part of Bluegreen Resorts(timeshares). It’s not big but it’s a decent size for the area. The location is so-so, not in the heart of Daytona/Ormond Beach. They do activities(pool volleyball, bingo, etc) everyday but not all of them get going if not enough people sign up for them. The pool area is pretty large with a lot of chairs. They have some comfy ones and some not so comfy and it spreads to 3 different areas around the pool. They also have grills if that’s your thing on vacation, the old standard shuffle board, a kiddy pool, and a jacuzzi. They also have free laundry if you run out of clean clothing before your stay is up. We had a 2 bedroom, 1 ½ bath, each of which had their own balcony. We faced the ocean which was nice to see each morning. Everyone on the staff seemed friendly. There is a gift shop and a pool bar that serves all kinds of drinks and a few food items. I had planned on using the fitness room but never got around to it, decided it was too nice to be inside on a treadmill and not outside enjoying the weather.
