This hotel is older, but they’ve done some updates to give it a modern feel, which is nice. When we checked in, there was sand all over the floor of our room and the couch cushions were wet. Clearly the previous guest had been sitting there in their bathing suit or something. Checkout time was scheduled for 10am on a Friday, but I asked the front desk person(a gentleman) about late checkout the night before. He said that because we were checking out on a Friday, it would be no problem, and to just call the front desk the next morning to make the request. I got up for a run early the next morning and on my way back up to my room I stopped by the front desk to make the request. An older lady was working the desk and she told me that late checkout would be impossible. She asked me why I needed late check out, so I told her that she could clearly see I had just gotten done running(I was in shorts with my iPod strapped to my arm and running shoes on) and that I needed to shower and get my things together. It was about 9:15 at this point, and I told her I would prefer not to be rushed. She still wouldn’t budge. At that point I let her know that I had tried to make this request the evening before and was told it’d be no problem and to just call the next morning. If this was not true, then she’d need to let all of her front desk staff know that late checkout isn’t possible and to stop lying to guests. She pushed it back to 11:00am, but her attitude in the whole ordeal was a gigantic turnoff. I definitely won’t stay again, even if their prices are reasonable.

Older hotel right on the beach. Our room had a balcony with a view of the ocean. The room had a small kitchen, table with chairs, a couch with a hide a bed, a half wall divide to the double bed next to the balcony. Everything was clean and comfy. The balcony was small but overlooking the ocean. It worked well for me as the kids slept on the hide a bed watching tv at night while I sat listening to the ocean on the balcony. They have a great diner/restaurant downstairs that we ate at for breakfast every morning. I had the biscuits and gravy. My kids had eggs and pancakes while they colored courtesy of the delightful waitstaff. I have been here several times, even cooked thanksgiving dinner in our room. It is a wonderful place at a great price.
