Planet Fitness – Ormond Beach

So far so good. Staff was friendly when my boyfriend went to sign up (I have a free membership though my insurance) they have several tvs to watch with private sound systems on the treadmills. We haven’t used the machines yet, just the treadmills and ellipticals. It’s a little warm in there, especially while your sweating. It’s convenient to my house and they have an ocean view.

I’ve been going to this Planet Fitness location for the past few months (I usually go to the Daytona one). This Planet Fitness is absolutely horrible, the staff are some of the most disrespectful people I have ever met, and the management seems to not care about there rude staff. Last night when working out I was harassed by a Kelley, she approached me and informed to me that my membership was canceled. I told Kelley that I canceled my membership right after I paid for it and my membership was good until the 17^th of this month. She brought me to the front desk were I spoke with Nick. Nick began to insist that my membership was canceled and I would not be able to work out. He then told me to go to the Daytona Planet Fitness and figure out whats wrong with my membership, as soon as I left I gave the gym a negative rating (They have a thing by the exit door were you can rate the gym) this made Nick angry and he began to tell me not to come back. I went to the Daytona Planet Fitness and they told me my membership was still active, as soon as I heard that I went back to the one in Ormond and as soon as I walked in the door, Kelley walked to the phone and began to call the police. I then left and decide to speak to management in the morning, I spoke to the manager and began to explain her employees rude behavior. She seemed to not care and even decide to defend there actions. I was appalled and then requested to speak to the franchise owner. As soon as I spoke with the franchise owner I began to understand that the staff were really close to each other and he was already informed about the incident, he began to be very hostile and informed me that I was trespassed from this location and I would not be able to work out here anymore (I wasn’t even informed by the manager I was trespassed). I wouldn’t recommend anyone to workout here, not just because of the unprofessional, shady staff, the equipment is terrible and I actually had a sit-​up machine break on me and the gym is poorly maintained there is a lot of dust and the equipment seems to not be clean.
This Planet Fitness Location is Horrible…
There employees suck…
The owner can suck a fat one…
Edited (1÷12÷16) at 7:52pm– Just complained about these dirtbags to BBB and they are rated a F on there website, This location has scammed several customers of there money and has failed to resolves 2 customer complaints. I would not trust this particular Planet Fitness…

AVOID THESE SCAMMERS!!! My gf and I moved away after being on a month to month plan. I called to cancel our plans and they said I either need to cancel in person or by certified mail which is ridiculous. I got them to let me cancel by email, and they verified the email address twice over the phone. After sending my cancellation email, I noticed for three months they still billed me after promising it was fine. I spoke with the manager and she was extremely rude about it and said that even though they gave me the wrong email address, that I could no longer cancel through email as I was promised I could and that there was no way to get back the $ 45 they’d basically stolen from me over the past 3 months. Such BS. Theives, scammers, taking advantage of people with bullshit policies to «protect someone else from cancelling my account».

I moved over to this gym from Golds for something different. The machines and weight areas are clean and well maintained. Plenty of cardio equipment with TV’s to watch up front. The atmosphere is very different to Golds and the commercials are not wrong regarding the type that likes this «judgment free» gym. The commercials mention the price $ 10 basic and there is a $ 20 black card if you want tanning, massage chairs and water massage bed. The extra also allows you to bring a guest for free daily. The commercials do not mention the yearly $ 30 fee added. Still the cheapest place.
There are no classes since there is no spin room or aerobics room.

This place is awesome! I love the staff. Helpful, friendly and great customer service. I’m usually here early mornings so it’s super clean and lots of space.

After not using our membership for months, my girlfriend and I went to cancel the membership. Yvette, greeted us with a, «I’m busy right now, you can go sit down until I’m done.» alright then, so that was rude. We come back about five minutes later. We are then told by Yvette that my girlfriend’s membership was cancelled January 9, of this year. First of all, it’s January 4, so that’s not possible. So we ask if it’s of last year and she says, «no, of 2014, this year.» After that debacle, we try to read the contract and after putting the date, Yvette snatches the pen literally from her hands and pulls the paper away without a word. So yeah, terrible terrible experience. Ended up signing the paper and never looking back. An experience so bad we’ll never go back, unless to see Yvette get fired. Other than that, the equipment is decent, only reason it’s one starred. Customer service makes, or breaks, any company, maybe make sure you don’t hire A holes if you want a customer base.
