We went for the lunch buffet. We had excellent service and the food was delicious. We will return. Very good value for the money.

So I have tried their other locations such as Roseville and uptown, and I must say their sushi here was disappointing. The crab was falling apart and it seems like the crabs were left opened exposed to air, making it taste dry/stale. On a positive note, the food here is good, tastes like the other dishes at the other locations. Better customer service at this location compared to the others.

five stars! I come here all the time with my family and we love it! we always come during the dinner hours! the prices are more expensive(25 $ per person) but it’s worth it because you get so many more options to choose from unlike the lunch menu where your choices are limited! plus their all u can eat menus are huge so you’re guaranteed to eat every thing you were hoping for & get stuffed doing so. I love starting off my meal with the veggie and shrimp tempura, and some salmon sashimi, and ending it with some green tea ice cream! We always have great service, and the atmosphere is pleasant. I will definitely be back in the next week… like always lol.

I give them 4 stars. The quality of the food is really good. The rolls might a bit more loosely rolled than what you expect, however the quality is great. The service(Jolly) was very nice and attentive and made sure that we had no gap in great food on the table. The Shashimi, Shashimi was really good quality. The grilled selections are certainly worth a try. Desserts are good and flavorful. Overall ambience is good, lots of booths and high tables and noise level is very easy. Give it a try. Either for lunch or dinner I think that this is a great dining choice!

No complaints from me. The all you can eat sushi lunch is a good deal especially when you like to mix it up and try a variety. Staff, décor, atmosphere, and food met my expectations of a quality, but casual enough place to eat.

If you feel like pigging out on sushi then this is your spot. The rolls are really good. I’m always impressed with the inside décor. They definitely took an effort to make the restaurant look nice. For the price, it’s a good variety. I like their seaweed salad. All their rolls are good so I can’t be specific about them. I’d go during their lunch hours. The dinner buffet is a bit more pricey.

Decent place, service was fantastic. We did not do the all you can eat, based on the bill after ordering individual roll and item prices — I would try the all you can eat. They have a solid variety of options and I would go back. As others have noted — not the best sushi around, a bit pricy in my opinion but overall decent and convenient location.

— Overall, the sushi is mediocre. Some cuts are not fresh and the sushi rice isn’t great. However, it will definitely get you full and the sashimi can satisfy cravings. Unfortunately it’s a little expensive. — Unlimited buffet sushi for around $ 17 during lunch at $ 25 for dinner with a ton of options — Sashimi cuts and certain deluxe rolls are only available for dinner — Avoid things with tuna. Their tuna isn’t the freshest. Salmon is decent — Order a lot of food on your first go. They’ve been known to slow down service and can get cranky around closing time — There’s something strange about unlimited sushi in landlocked Minnesota, like a… ahem fish out of the water. Abominable jokes aside, I’ve always wondered how Kyoto sources their fish. It’s a long way from the ocean so the fish must have been frozen for a while. Well, I’ve been coming to Kyoto for years and I’ve fortunately never gotten sick. The restaurant is located in the old area of Maple Grove strip mall, pretty close to the highway. The interior is modern and rather spacious, with wooden floors. The servers are decent at the beginning but get progressively less attentive as you make your second, third, or fourth order. If you’re tight on time or it’s about to close, I highly recommend that you make a larger order. The food is decent. The sushi isn’t super fresh and can have that just thawed feel. I especially remember having bad experiences with the tuna, which had a particularly fishy flavor. The menu has some pretty decent rolls and other options like tempura and udon as well. The tempura is decently fried and the extras are a good mix that make up for a solid meal. I would say Kyoto is a little over priced for sushi that isn’t the best, but can be a good way to binge eat your cravings away.

Have been looking for a good sushi buffet in Minneapolis. The Chinese buffets, in general, do a mediocre job of turning out mayo-filled rolls, but this place sticks to Japanese(and not just sushi) across the board for a great value lunch. Their nigiri selection is a bit small(I suspect it may be bigger for dinner), but their noodles and donburi are great and many are included in the all you can eat $ 15 lunch. Is it the best Japanese in town? No. But is it the best Japanese buffet with reasonably authentic food and sushi and a pleasant ambience at a good price? Absolutely. The nay-sayers here are basically complaining that it doesn’t measure up to the pricey ala carte restaurants, but Kyoto doesn’t seem to aspire to that. If you love Japanese(which I do… having lived there for three years) and you love value(which I do, given my hebraic origins) then you will find much to appreciate about this place.

Wishing I could give them zero stars. Terrible service, got our order wrong twice, and lastly I found HAIR in my food. The health department should make a swing by this place. Gross They even made me pay for my meal…

Dollar for dollar this is the best place in Maple Grove to go for sushi! I am a frequent visitor of their all you can eat Sushi and like that they have a variety of chicken, seafood, and beef on the menu. The only downside to Kyoto of Maple Grove is that their staff is not very well trained. During the recent NBA playoffs I noticed all of the cooks out watching the end of the game instead of doing their job.

I typically really enjoy Kyoto. Today I was thoroughly underwhelmed by the sushi. It was not fresh and the presentation was poor. Had it not been for the decent dumplings today would have been a 1 star. Even the ginger dressing didn’t taste right. Itll be a while before I try this Kyoto again.

Best«all you can eat sushi» in Twin Cities thus far. They give you a good variety to choose from. My favorite is their sashimi – red tuna specifically! Delicious!

Overall the food is okay IF you dine-in! Foods for Togo like teriyaki chicken was full of onions and too watery instead of chicken with teriyaki sauce. I don’t see Teriyaki sauce on my Togo more like no flavor! Eel fried rice is always my favorite! Portions for sashimi is funny, they asked you how many pieces. Very thin slice on sashimi, so make sure when you order, order few more. They will give you bigger portion when u order fried rice or stir fried noodles. The service from the staff depends on which staff you tried to get. There are two staff that totally ignores you and walk by you when you tried to make more orders.

This place just sucks, completely. 1. Miso soup had ONE tiny tofu. Like, literally. NOT Even kidding. 2. The shrimp tempura had a long piece of black hair sticking out from the shrimp. 3. The tempura roll(dinner menu with cream cheese) was straight up soggy and barely any avocado. 4. The waitress was a straight up bitch. No service whatsoever. 5. The beef sirloin was full of onions(¾ onion and ¼ meat). Not even exaggerating. 6. My flying fish egg salad had water at the bottom of the bowl. I Appreciate that my greens were washed but I dont appreciate having water in my bowl of salad. 7. The kyoto roll was gross. Plain and too much ricr. Ended up picking out and eating the cucumbers/meat inside the roll, leaving the rice. Going back to the kyoto in Roseville.

All you can eat sushi for $ 16. A little bit more than I want to spend since I don’t eat that much. any way, sushi was good, service is good. Really like their rolls…

This is the best all you can eat sushi in the twin cities. Order a lot at ounce because they are a little slow to come back to your table.

Well if you like sushi or sashimi i would not recommend, average at best. After reading the comments I believe the stars are for $ 15.95 not the food quality. There is a much better Sushi bar incorporated with Sawadee on main street in Maple Grove. One should visit there if you have interest in taste in the NW area, otherwise there are a couple downtown and in the South Metro.

I can honestly say that I love all you can eat sushi! I’m not a sushi expert so getting to try new rolls that I normally might shy away from is awesome! You can keep the menu at your table and just order a few things at a time for as long as you want! The server was great and always made sure to come by and ask if we were ready to order more. If you go you should really try the #9 Roll, it’s great! I also really liked the Dynamite Roll. One roll that I probably won’t order again is the Tempura Roll, I thought it was very plain and bland. Overall i think $ 25 for all you can eat is a steal and I cant wait to go back and try more! 5 stars all the way!
