Discovered this little gem last week. Couldn’t believe the $ 18 three course Prix Fix(Sunday — Thursday, $ 25 Fri., Sat. with a bigger menu selection) so had to give it a try. Arrived about 8PM, walked in and there were some tables that were occupied, it was quiet — hmmm. I was solo, I seated my self at the bar, & was approached by the bartender immediately — ordered a glass of wine & a menu. The bartender presented the $ 18 Prix Fix menu & asked if I wanted the full menu. I responded yes please. Looked over both menus and decide to give the Prix Fix a try. There are enough items on the prix fix to satisfy probably 95% of the population — from seafood to pork, chicken, beef, lamb, pasta & vegetables. Ordered oyster on the half shell, seafood ‘stew’(½ lobster, clams, mussels, calamari, shrimp with linguini in saffron broth) & Coconut Tres Leche. Oysters(6) arrived on a bed of ice with 3 sauces(cocktail, horseradish & mignonette). The oysters were nice, fresh smelling and clean tasting — delish. The oysters alone are probably $ 6 — $ 9. Thalia in NYC charges $ 1.50& $ 1.00 after 7PM per oyster. Next came the entrée Seafood stew with all the accouterments bib, nutcracker & towelettes, although on the menu it’s listed as ½ lobster… When I order it I was assuming that the lobster was ½ langostino or some other small crustacean. I was pleasantly surprised that in fact it was ½ of a Main lobster. It was a good size bowl of seafood. Had to try the broth first — yum. I asked the bartender is that saffron broth? Yes came the response. Then I looked back on the menu — DA! you fool, ½ lobster… in Saffron Broth. In any case there was enough food for me to have two meals & I did, took half home, had to save room for dessert. Now came the dessert. Coconut Tres Leche. OK a nice slice all covered in shredded coconut & a dollop of whipped cream. The cake was soaked in cream. First bite — good but a bit too, too sweet for me, finished it any way. Went back the following day as I was still home unexpectedly, had oyster, skirt steak with tater tots, creamed spinach & chimichurri sauce, pistachio cheese cake. The lowdown skirt steak came as ordered rare, under seasoned, chimichurr added some flavor, tater tots definitely home made, creamed spinach, flavorful but too watery, pistachio cheese cake — ok a little bit too dense. Returned a week later with family had the following: Appetizer: Calamari with red peppers, New England Clam Chowder, Coconut Shrimp & Chefs Daily Special House Salad Entrée: Parmesan Encrusted Cod with escarole, potatoes & white beens, Pork Ossobuco with gnocchi & asparagus, Sea Scallops with mushroom risotto & truffle oil, Stuffed Chicken(sausage, spinach & cheese) over linguini & mushrooms. Dessert: 2x Ricotta Fritters, 2x Chocolate Peanut Butter Pyramid You can’t go wrong here, the ambiance, is pleasant, it’s quiet, quick service & then the price $ 18 for a good selection that is well prepared. Go ahead take the family & you won’t break the bank. BTW the restaurant is located in a historic residential neighborhood off the beaten path. There is a small parking lot diagonally across the street other wise park on the street and look around at the landmark builds

What a great place to enjoy seafood. Such a relaxing atmosphere, the oysters are large and great tasting and the service is great! Definitely will be returning.

We went here for dinner last night to celebrate my birthday. My wife made a reservation and our table was ready when we arrived at 6:15pm. Our server, Hector, was very knowledgable of the nights specials. We had a dozen oysters which were delicious and meaty. My wife had the fixed price meal which included an a seafood appetizer, lobster ravioli and a chocolate covered peanut butter mousse. I had the cracked pepper filet mignon; it was cooked to perfection! Beer selection was fine but my wife was disappointed with the wine selection available by the glass. She ended up getting a bottle of a familiar Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand(menu had an error and listed it from Napa) after trying two other house whites. Service was good and the atmosphere was friendly. We will definitely go back.

Every word of my prior review was true, albeit a bit harsh, which is all the more reason for this update. In my opinion, this place was in dire need of change, and it seems as if something has been done in the past year for the better. After my two previous mediocre visits to Goldfish, I’d had zero intentions of ever coming again, until I was asked by my girlfriend to join her family there for a birthday celebration last night. Against my better judgment, I went, and am glad I did. As was the case in the past, the service was very solid and friendly. However, EVERYTHING else was better. They still offer the unbeatable $ 18 price fixed menu, which is an amazing price in today’s economy, but this time the quality of the food as well as the selection and portion sizes were superior compared to my prior experiences. I started with the half dozen raw oysters, which were not only fresh, but twice the size portion as my prior visit a year ago. My entrée choice was the cioppino(although it’s not called that on the menu), which was a warm tomato and saffron-based stew with a half lobster, mussels, calamari, and shrimp, with a bunch of linguine at the bottom of the bowl. Monstrous portion, and delicious! Finally, dessert was a «pyramid», which was essentially chocolate and peanut butter-flavored mousse covered with a thin chocolate shell that was, you guessed it, shaped like a pyramid. After my well-deserved prior bashing of this local staple, I felt as if I owed it an updated review, because not only was I thoroughly pleased with my experience this time ’round, but so was my entire party of eight. Bravo, Goldfish, you’ve just won a previously jaded customer back!

Another date night with my fiancé and another delicious meal. Let’s get to it, for apps I once again had to have mussels in saffron sauce which were awesome! My girl had the shrimp and couscous salad, which was equally delicious. For our main entrée last time Kerri had the scallops and risotto, which was perfect. This time I ordered the dish. The scallops were perfect, but my risotto was on the dry side. So disappointed, I was really looking forward to the risotto. :-(My girl had the beef raviolis which we delicious! For dessert we stuck with the coconut tres leches cake. Which didn’t fail to deliver. Today they lose a star for the dry risotto. Hopefully they’ll earn it back next time.

My husband and I left the kids at home and had date night at this restaurant. We arrived late and the kitchen was closing soon so we really didn’t get to stay long. However, the food was delicious. I order the coconut shrimp as an appetizer and the steak with creamed spinach and Tator tots for the entrée. My husband had the crab cake and salmon which was a nice size. We didn’t feel rushed and the bill was decent. We will be going back.

I have had people recommend Goldfish to me for years and maybe I had my sights set a bit too high. Disappointing experience. The food was very average and the service was slow. The oysters did not taste fresh and the chowder was a bit pasty. The tuna was good and the value is excellent. I think I’ll go again and try the prix fixe menu. Every place deserves a second chance to be great.

Went tonight for Thanksgiving Dinner. Their menu consisted of a 4 course meal with dazzling options. I ordered the extremely fresh cold shellfish starter. The Oysters were amazing! They have a raw bar as well so I guess that was to be expected! Then I had a great creamy seafood bisque(very generous portion). For the entrée, I ordered the swordfish which was cooked to perfection over mashed sweet potatoes and melted marshmallows . The dessert was an array of Italian style pastries including canolis(which are my favorite). All of of this for less than $ 40! If you live anywhere near this place, you absolutely have to give them a try. The staff is as professional as they come as well. PS: Thanks Chris for finding the belt!

I have heard mixed reviews on this place. We decided to give it a try. It was located in a residential area which I did not expect. The outside left a little to be desired but the inside was pleasantly modern and inviting. I was looking forward to a good meal but I was disappointed. Although our server was attentive and the food came out very quickly I was very unhappy with my entrée. I ordered the short ribs with green beans. When it came out it looked so unappetizing that I did not want to even taste it. The meat and the beans were drowning in a brown gravy that looked like it came from a jar. It tasted even worse. This place needs a little help, a new chef and a modern menu.

Went here again tonight and had the prix fixe menu. It’s still delicious! Everything was perfectly prepared and the service was excellent. It was an excellent value(at $ 18 per person) and we loved it. This place has been good for years now and I think it’s a solid choice. Go visit!

Great prix fixe deal Sunday — Thursday $ 18.00 for three courses. I started with the shrimp and grits. Shrimp was seasoned well. The grits tasted good. Nice and cheesy but a little lumpy. Don’t forget to stir consistently while making the grits to avoid the lumps. For entrée I had the beef short ribs. Delicious. Others had the Cioppini and scallops. They enjoyed them. Maple cheese. Cake for dessert. Very good.

I have been here twice on a Monday night and had an amazing dinner and service both times. The staff is great and the food is just as good. They have a great deal as well on certain days. Food is fresh and you can tell the quality of everything. Also very clean. It is a home feeling setting, so if that’s what you enjoy this is for you. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

We had a groupon and were in the mood for oysters. Service was a little odd at points. We chose to sit upstairs and felt secluded since we were the first few to arrive with the dinner crowd. Once it got busy, the service picked up and we were able to order at a good pace. I asked about their wines, our server seemed a little taken back as if I had the nerve to assume he knew wine… So I ended up ordering a basic Pinot Grigio. I don’t expect this from servers but at least tell me what you have. Overall, the pasta dishes were better than most Italian places I’ve been to. Would definitely go again!

We came here for the $ 24.99 price fixed meal with my boyfriend and his friends. We sat upstairs because it was warmer then sitting on the first floor. What we did notice about the restaurant was a strong oder of grease that permeated the air of the whole restaurant and our cloths when we arrived home. Not very pleaseant if I say so. The restruant has on-site parking right across the street that is great. The service was good, and the food fair. The DESERT was HORRIBLE — Molten Chocolate Lava Cake it had a FISHY tast. we did orded another one thinking our taste buds were off, but when the new one arrived — it had the same fishy taste. We asked our friends to taste the cake and they thought something was wrong with it. Honestly, we will never come back here even if we had a free meal. Just a note, we love going to their other Restruant 101 Saw Mill in Hawthorn NY directly across the street from the Hawthorn Move Theater. We went there for the 2015 Super Bowel and had a fantastic time and the food was great! Only thingn missing was the Pigs-In-The

I love oysters, and I was craving something new. I was recommended this place and followed up on Unilocal and decided to give it a try. The location is different, right in the middle of a neighborhood. It’s a converted house and very cool looking. I really enjoy how the owner took this space and made it into his own. We went on a Tuesday night and it had a small crowd, but no wait. We sat upstairs which seems to be a little bit of a pain for the waitstaff to get up and down in busy times with arms full of food. The staff was very friendly and presented neatly. We ordered oysters and they were very fresh and quite yummy. There was a pre fixe menu and it gave you TONS of food for a very reasonable price. My boyfriend ordered soup, i got a salad. Appetizers came but weren’t anything special. Our main dish was… not great. I had a seafood canneloni type meal that had a green sauce on it that made no sense. It had a sweetness to it that didn’t sit well with the seafood and cheese inside this sheet of rolled pasta. My boyfriend ordered the steak which also had a very odd flavored sauce on top. Forgive me that I can’t remember the ingredients that were used. We both struggled to finish our meals. Our waiter could tell that we weren’t overly impressed and offered us a complimentary espresso with our dessert. Desserts came, I ordered biscotti and it was soft and grainy. Complete disappointment. Oyster and wine were delicious. Staff was very attentive and friendly. But our dinner was lacking. I have heard from others that it’s a «hit or miss» restaurant so maybe we experienced a different chef than a busier night. I’ll consider returning in the future. Maybe we just went on a bad night.

Goldfish restaurant is a nice local place. Food seems fresh and, depends what you order, pretty tasty. We had a groupon but typically wouldn’t go just because it seems expensive for what you get from the ala carte menu. The pre fixe menu seems like the way to go. The people at a nearby table did that and their portion sizes were close to normal– during the week this is $ 18 per person for a 3 course meal. Using the groupon meant we had to order off the ala carte menu. I ordered the crab stuffed salmon with mashed potatoes, spinach, and shrimp broth($ 24). It was delicious. My fiancé ordered the catch of the day, which(pleasant surprise) was half lobster in addition to all the other great items($ 28. clams, shrimp, mussels cooked in pinot grigio and served over capellini(like angel hair). However, this was no where as good as my dish. The flavor was strong and I couldn’t put my finger on the spice they used, but it just wasn’t very pleasing. Down side is that we were seated at 7, according to our reservation… But waited 45 minutes before food arrived. Was it worth the wait? Meh. Not a 45 minute wait. The service was good. Lots of servers bustling around, always someone to help out. Very team oriented– even if you do technically have an assigned waiter. We sat across from the bar– the bartender and servers that we saw were pretty friendly. I’d recommend this place for a date night or intimate group gathering. It can get pretty tight in here. Also, can’t stress enough– do the pre fixe to get the most bang for your buck.

Food here absolutely delicious!!! But sitting in the back room is soooo dull. Otherwise I would’ve given I will definitely visit again Tip: service can be a bit rude… At least for my liking… you sort of have that over worked… under paid type of service.

I haven’t eaten here in a few years(we used to live in Ossining and dined here a number of times back in the day) I’m glad to see the food quality is the same now as it was back then. The décor is cute and ambiance is nice. Came for lunch with my hubby, mother in law and 1 year old daughter today. For $ 16 you get a 3 course prefix — not bad! I started with(one of my all time favorite appetizers) Fried Calamari. It was fresh and yummy. My entrée was the Chicken Milanese. I’ve had this dish before and forgot how disappointed I was with it in the past. It’s basically a pounded thin breaded chicken cutlet with balsamic vinegar drizzled over it with a tossed salad. I did enjoy the salad —(the dressing tasted like either some lemon or citrus) — whatever the dressing was, it was good. Hubby had the chipotle salmon and said it was really good. For dessert he and I had the butterscotch pudding brûlée.(I’ve had this every time I’ve ever eaten here and I am never disappointed) it was SO yummy! The staff was all very friendly and told us over and over again how cute/beautiful our baby was — so of course brownie points get awarded there for my overall experience!

So, we purchased a dinner voucher and took the 45 minute drive to try this place out the other night. I dig the set up. It obviously used to be a home and its pretty cozy with an open kitchen. Unfortunately, they serve a pre-fixe menu from Sun-Thurs and we were not able to use our voucher but the alternative was even better. The server DID offer to allow us to use our voucher on the regular menu a la carte but we opted to try 0out the pre-fixe menu instead. That way, we have a reason to come out and try the place out again. The pre-fixe menu is pretty rockin’. First off, you get a family-style appetizer for the table. It has Raw Oysters and Clams, Smoked Salmon and Capers, Fried Calamari and Mini Crab Cakes and Steamed Mussels. Mind you, this was only ONE of the appetizers. We also got to order individual appetizers. Hubby had a Cesar Salad and I opted for the New England Clam Chowder. For our entrees, hubby ordered the New York Strip Steak in a Marsala Sauce and I had the Parmesan-Crusted Baked Cod. Dessert was a fruit plate with shared Cheesecakes and Chocolate Mousse. NOW, as you can see, we had A LOT of food this night and it only cost us a whopping $ 21 per person. The food wasn’t the best seafood meal that I’ve had but it was nicely done and very inexpensive. We will DEFINITELY be returning, and bringing guests along for the ride. So good.
