Food is solid but the outdoor drinking area on the river is the reason to come. Amazing space with an amazing view.

The view is amazing, food is adequate. Food is some what over priced. Great for drinks outside on a nice day. If you go you’re basically paying for the view… And that’s if you can manage to get a seat outside.

This restaurant is a bit difficult to find. However, the view is gorgeous and the servers were extremely attentive. I went with a group of 13 and our service was quick and accurate. The fried calamari was perfectly crispy; however, there were some frying issues because the breading didn’t really adhere to the calamari. There were herbs in the breading, but the calamari lacked seasoning and didn’t taste like much without the sauces. The New England clam chowder was creamy and flavorful and there were actually chunks of clams in it, unlike many other places that only use clam stock. There was a good underlying smokiness from the bacon and who doesn’t like bacon? For my entrée, I got the linguine, which came with clams and grilled shrimp. The overall flavoring could have been amped up because it was a little bland. There was an overwhelming garlic taste to it and the shrimp were not cooked all the way through. As far as the other entrees go, many people in our party ordered The Boathouse burger and raved about it. The burger was juicy and succulent, with crispy fried onions and perfectly salted fries. Others got the salmon wrap and the avocado really helped to increase the moistness of the fish. One person ordered the black and white tuna salad and she said it was absolutely divine. The tuna was cooked medium rare and the toasted sesame seeds gave the dish an irresistible aroma. Overall, the service is hard to beat, but the food could use some help.

3 – 4 stars for location but skip the food Tried for a medium cheeseburger: it came well done and the meat was nothing special. Larchmont Tavern or Pipers kilt have them beat. None of the 3 others in our group had a good meal… salads were ordinary and crsb sandwich was a disappointment. Service started well but got scarce by seven pm.

Let me start off by saying how much I love the staff. If you’re a local and you know a staff member then consider yourself family. And if you don’t, be prepared to join the boathouse family. The friendly ambiance will win you over. Hands down Lisa is the best bartender. The garlic wings… to die for. The Angry Val… if you like spicy food and seafood it’s a must try. The service, exceptional. Mind you I’ve been a returning customer since they opened. My brother Ryan works there and provides A1 service right along with the rest of the staff. The owners are the best. For over 6 years this restaurant has provided a great atmosphere. And for a small town like Ossining this was needed. A mixture of crowds and ages add to the uniqueness of this business

3.00 for a glass of seltzer, per glass. 9.00 a glass for mediocre house wine. View is the parking lot of the restaurant. Bar crowd was loud. Limited menu, Food was OK but nothing to write home about. There are numerous other restaurants on the river in the area that provides a much nicer and reasonable dining experience. Don’t scratch but erase this one off the bucket list.

It’s a nice spot on the water that’s right down the street, so I can’t help myself from going. The food isn’t great but it’s not bad. No high end cuisine but some decent staples. I keep expecting that the service will improve, but either I’m just crazily unlucky or their service and host attitude are just irreparable and the owners just don’t care. Maybe someday…

7 people beautiful night out and leave it to the Boat House to ruin it. Wow where to start– grossly overpriced for sub par service and terrible quality of ingredients. I shouldn’t find myself having to fill up my and family members glasses of water repeatedly– absolutely flabbergasted — waiter didn’t fill up our glasses not even once! $ 30 for a «lobster roll» when it resembled more of a seafood mayo induced salad is comical. Individual that ordered that felt nauseous for days! Everyone else remained dehydrated by the massive quantities of salt that was used in their food. I’ve already wasted too much time on such a rubbish place. Needless to say, I won’t be going back!

Sadly, not too many places along the Hudson where a Dude might stop for some food and drink. From the first person we met, the valet, to the hostess who squeezed us in to a table sans reservation on a gorgeous sunset Friday afternoon, to Jessica our waitress and the surrounding ensemble, we had a fabulous time. I’d offer a five star since today is all about writing reviews on places that inspired and offered Dude and Mrs. Dude a respite from the hot sun and the bustle of road tripping. The portions of food were well balanced and ample. The ginger sesame sauce on the scallops delightful. Slightly overcooked whilst the asparagus was mos def too well done. Garlic mashed flavorful but needed to be a bit creamier. Looked like they had been sitting for a bit. If you label something po boy, it needs all the fixings of a true po boy. Otherwise it’s just a fried clam roll. Clams were delicious. Fries tasted like home made, seasoned well and perfectly crispy and tender. We’ll be back. It got hopping as we departed. Simply lovely spot.

DONOTVALETYOURCAR Went to dinner. Great ambience. Good food. Nice wait staff. Would have given 4 stars. «Free Valet» smoking in car & additional miles not included: –After dinner waited on line with other patrons to give ticket. There were 4 groups ahead of us who had yet to give ticket to Valet –Valets(2) pulled up in our car before we gave them a ticket. they said they were using our car to go back and forth between lots, in order to bring cars to the restaurant entrance –Didn’t want to make a big deal, but then we got in the car and it smelled of smoke. The valet driving our car was hiding his cigarette in his hand. When asked if they were smoking in the car. He said no, «I don’t smoke.» When asked why there was a cigarette in his hand, he said, «The window was down and I didn’t smoke in your car.» When I asked him why he lied, he said«I never lied to you sir». When I addressed it with the management, and asked them why, they had no answer nor offered a solution to clean the car when asked. No one is allergic to smoke. But when you don’t smoke & you have asthma, you do not appreciate someone smoking in your car. I am surprised by the blatant lying by the valet. Along with the lack of compassion & conflict resolution by restaurant management. I highly recommend you take your business elsewhere. Or at the very least, park your car on your own. Additionally, it is unlawful to smoke at a food establishment per section 1399-q, which the Boat House does not enforce at all. This is a health code violation, which says everything about staff & food quality, and the lack of care ownership & management have.

Nasty hostess. seemed annoyed and shook her head at me that I didn’t have a reservation… basically turned me a way. place didn’t even seem busy. There is a courteous way of saying something for example«sorry we are only taking reservations tonight».Total turn off I will never return. spoke to manager Lori she seemed to care less. It’s sad that the valet guy cared more about us as a customer apologizing for them.

Came here with a group with the intention to sit on the outside deck. The weather failed to cooperate. Inside, the restaurant had a nice«boathouse» atmosphere. The menu consists of wraps, fresh fish of the day, steaks and other interesting items. I had the seafood pot pie and really enjoyed it. The mussels were good as was the shrimp wrap and fried sea scallops Cranberry bread pudding was to die for Ryan our server was great, fast and attentive. The bartender was sweet and efficient. I would come back again if I’m ever up in that area again

This place is such a gem in Ossining! The food was great, the service was efficient, and the location/view is gorgeous. Def make sure to make a reservation beforehand. The dishes that we really liked were the fried calamari and the shrimp luciano. We also got the lobster roll, which was tasty but quite pricy for a smaller dish.

I hate to have to write this because I live in Ossining… but, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. My husband and I went for lunch, and immediately noticed that their outdoor ‘patio’ was filthy from the walls to the floor. We ordered 3 apps, calamari, mussels and a crab cake. They were horrible. Really truly horrible. The best part of our meal was the bag in a box diet cokes. Get it together boathouse, you have so much potential. Clean up! Fix your kitchen! Train your staff!

Oh come on now… just because it’s ‘on the water’ doesn’t mean there’s a view. Don’t get too excited because your view is a bunch of dry docked boats, a wooden fence and an inlet. So if you came for the ‘glamorous view’, turn yourself around and head down to Harvest on Hudson or some place with a real view. Ok, so the view is a joke… how about the food? Can you say ‘overpriced meh’ three times fast? Alright, well how about the service? You mean the servers who stand around sizing you up from afar but don’t actually invite you to have a seat? Well, what about the chef/owner? I don’t know. I never met him. But if he was rude to my friend Keith — who just might be the nicest guy on the face of the Earth — he probably deserves to rot eternally in a Sing Sing prison cell with a view of a bunch of dry docked boats and get served meh food in exchange for a pack of smokes. Bah humbug!

Love the bartenders, and the servers. To bad the chef is a jerk he was really rude and just killed it for us for the whole summer! I guess our money and opinions don’t matter! Normally you can only judge a chef by the food which comes out of the kitchen, but not in this case. My friends and I pulled up in two boats. We ordered a few rounds from the outdoor tiki bar. Though we didn’t like the FOOD the last time we ate at the boathouse based on the quality of the service, we were debating giving it a third chance. Well three strikes and your out didn’t even happen the Chef came out and hit us with the pitch! As I mentioned we had been getting great drinks from the outdoor bartender(nice guy by the way), and the Chef who gave us all food poisoning the last time we ate there(don’t order the lobster mac and cheese) comes outside. He proceeded to tell us that the boat docking was for paying customers of the restaurant only… Apparently buying several rounds at the bar is not good enough! So in discussion, we asked what the profit margin for a meal was? He stated«if your NOT eating you shouldn’t be here»… JUDGEFORYOURSELFIFYOUWANTBUTWEWILLNEVERGOBACKANDWEWILLTELLEVERYONEABOUTTHEWAYWEWERETREATEDBYTHEBELOWAVERAGECHEF!!!

I may be a little biased on this one because my friend’s parents own the place. But I feel comfortable enough telling you this is a top notch place because I know how they treat their guests and the love, care and quality that goes into the food. Expect big portions at this restaurant and hearty tasty pastas. The sauces they use on the different pastas are amazing, nothing blend about it. The actual location is lovely, by the water with a romantic view. Definitely recommend it if you are in the area. You won’t be disappointed. Ps. There’s a full bar! :D

What a nice place to have lunch or early dinner to see the sunset. The restaurant is right on the marina. There is outdoor seating area. The Service: FANTASTIC! Our server was super sweet and attentive. She was always around when we needed anything. The Food: The food was served pretty quickly. The portion is huge, perfect to share. French Onion Soup — Topped with melted swiss cheese. The best french onion soup ever! It is not over-salted. Lots of cheese on top… so cheesy! Boathouse Burger — Stuffed with bacon, tomato, monterey Jack cheese and served with frizzled onions. Big burger~ The meat is so juicy. All the ingredient is very fresh. Cobb Salad — Romaine, chicken, avocado, tomato, bacon, red onion, crumbled blue cheese, tossed in our house dressing. OMG! The portion is huge, at least can feed 3 people! Not over-dressing. Perfect! The Lisa Marie — Macaroni and cheese with chicken and hot peppers. I called this«adult» version of Mac & Cheese! Super cheesy and HOT! Definitely a kick after each bit. I love it~ The Parking: Private parking lot(FREE). The Direction: We set the address on our GPS, unfortunately, we still got lost & had to call the restaurant for directions. If you are taking the ramp down from the train station, make a left at the end of the ramp. Keep going straight for 1 – 2 minutes, there will be a restaurant sign on the left hand side.

Had some fabulous drinks and eats here with work colleagues this past fall. Their lobster and corn chowder was amazing! Chunks of lobster, hot and delicious. I had a few rounds of gimlets which were made perfectly– not too sweet, not too potent on the liquor. For my entrée I had the ribeye with crumbled blue cheese on top w a side of veggies. The ribeye was perfection meat– buttery soft on the fork, not tough or overcooked(I like mine medium rare, more on the side of rare.) Definitely one of the better ribeyes I have had. Although the blue cheese overpowered it and I ended up scraping it off, it was still very salvageable and I scarfed the entire thing. My friend had the black and white tuna salad and I tried a piece of her crusted tuna. I think I used to getting my tuna raw in sushi so I thought her piece was way too dry– could have been just me though. I definitely want to return here in the warmer months and enjoy a drink at the outdoor boat bar and take in the views of the Hudson River. A little on the pricier side, but worth it!
