So I recently ordered a large pie with Extra mushrooms. Let’s put emphasis on the EXTRA. And then take a looky loo at the pic I posted. That’s no damn extra mushrooms son. That is barely mushrooms at all. I paid an additional $ 2.25, though not a big deal in the least, but I would have at least expected a few of the slices to be covered in shrooms. The pizza itself was so blah that I’m wondering what happened on the day I ordered compared to all these other reviews. They barely have anything to choose from in the cases too – about 4 different, but sad, basic slices. It reminds me of play-doh fun time, childrens pizza. Sorry but I will NOT be venturing back here when there are plenty of other places within a 5 mile radius that have slamming pizza, crammed with toppings.

Not the best food I’ve ever had, but they earned the 5 stars for their awesome customer service. I ordered some pasta with tomato sauce and I forgot to say no cheese on it because I’m highly allergic. So when I got the pasta with cheese on it I was pretty disappointed. I ended up calling the establishment back and explaining my situation, they sent a brand new plate of pasta to me free of charge. It made my day!

Best slice in the area. Big slices. Great value. Specialty slices are always changing and usually spot-on. Pasta dishes are delicious.

This place is great. As the other reviewers have mentioned, it’s a fairly standard type of Italian restaurant for the general area and it serves a fairly standard menu. They have a sit-down restaurant and also serve a dizzying array of pizzas. The food was good, solid, well-prepared Italian food. The type my relatives from Italy would find acceptable(except for some of the pizza toppings, but this is New York, after all). The reason I’m giving this 4 stars and not 3(because it is all very standard in its way) is the service. I went with two friends on a busy Saturday and they were really, really wonderful to us. One of my friend is elderly and the other is 11, and every person in the place was kind and patient and attentive. They made sure we got seated right away and brought our food quickly and responded to every request politely. I was very impressed.

We purchased the Sicilian pie from Sals for the first time and i will tell you it was a monster. It was the size of 16″ pizza box 1.77 square feet of pizza goodness.

Ordered their gnocchi as a side. It was awesome and I would order it again. I prefer denser gnocchi and theirs fits the bill.

In Seattle — you can get GREAT teriyaki. In LA — Taco trucks serve pure mana-from-heaven. In NY — it’s pizza by the slice. Here in Ossining, a small and unassuming pizza joint reigns SUPREME amongst the local eateries. It’s not much to look at, but looks are deceiving. Not only is the Pizza by the slice incredible, but it is the service and the cleanliness is 5 Star! I once walked in during their daily cleaning and they had all the food pulled back and they where wiping down all the display areas… changing water and rags as they went.(REALLY?!) As for flavor — being a recent transplant to NY, I’m new to «real» pizza. I’m a life long pepperoni and mushroom guy(circa: Papa John’s, Pizza Hut, Domnio’s Pizza) and have since seen the error of my ways. A slice of cheese pizza is the one true way to enjoy pie. Sal’s has all sorts of combinations, and I’ve tried them all. I’m a 2 slice(1 cheese and 1 chicken parm) kinda guy… and that fills me UP. 2 slices is a MEAL! Sometimes I order for me and my girl, and when I do, we also split a side salad(which is HUGE) and an order of garlic-knots. YUMMY! Service — STELLAR. Sal and his son run the joint and they’re always very engaging and kind. I order, they flop it into the oven, and while it’s heating and they’re working there is always light-hearted conversation. The ONLY thing I’m not a fan of is some dude who sometimes drives and he has this horrible Paul DelVecchio hair cut, who clearly has the social grace of a broken stick. I once pulled into their lot and was waiting on a parking spot… when he pulled in, drove around me, and then(from the other angle), took the spot for which I was waiting. THIS however, is NO reason to avoid Sal’s. The other driver is cool, the staff is mellow and the food(regardless of order) is appropriately priced and amazingly delicious. SO — if this place is so great… why not 5* in my rating… because I’ve only been here 4 months and I keep expecting that ‘somewhere’ there has to be a better slice. But, in truth… I ALWAYS end up coming back to Sal’s. Again, again, and again.

Best pizza in Westchester. The slices are huge and the owners and staff are always so friendly. My favorite slice is the tomato slice. Also try their salad pizza, which is the best salad pizza anywhere hands down.

I work right next door to Sal’s so we go there a lot. The pizza is wonderful. Make sure to ask for the«Tomato Special» — it is a white pizza with fresh basil and thinly sliced tomatoes with tons of garlic! YUM!

Great food and great staff. My favorite pizza is the chicken ‘n broccoli. Ask for their homemade hot sauce if you’re into spicy food. The garlic knots are a hidden treasure, try them out! Don’t hesitate to chat with the owner, he will tell the story about«Sal» :)

This is currently my favorite pizza place in Ossining. The pies are delicious and reasonably priced. They have a decent garden salad as well. The atmosphere is casual and the staff is always friendly and helpful.
