Dairy Hut

Traditional soft serve Ice cream. Root beer floats and shakes and slushies. They don’t have smoothies. Good banana splits yet a bit over priced.

They spelled my name wrong after spelling it loud and clear. Starbucks is able to spell my name properly, if they can do it anyone can do it.

Wait is long at peak times. I would plan for 45 – 60 mins to place and get your orders especially when they are short staffed. They are short staffed a lot so the wait normally doesn’t Chang. Very nice, local ice cream hangout.

Opens late March and closes for the winter. Kids love the soft serve ice cream, they have some decent foods items as well. Great place to come with the kids in the summer. Very reasonable prices and friendly staff.

This is always a fun tradition at the end of a productive weekend. We especially wanted to go since it was the last day open of the season. The servers were great as always. With 4 kids and a few that are indecisive, their patience was much appreciated. They even ended up giving one of the kids a free cone. Thx! Will see you next year!

Yummy ice cream :) kind service. Good food. Open at convenient times in the summer. Love this place more than Dairy Queen! :)

Last ice cream of the season … Love this place all summer long. Their staff is very young, thinking the local HS kids, but they handle business well and are competent. My family and I love to ride our bikes down by the river and then end up here to finish it off with a big cold ice cream.
… and if you want some eats, they have that too.

Wonderful family place with a small town feel. It sparks memories of little league baseball and ice cream with the team!
In addition to ice cream they also serve hot food ala a hot dog stand.
I had never heard of a Boston until here. It’s a sundae on top and shake on the bottom!

Liked the smoothie. But nothing real special. My kid liked the soft serve but what kid doesn’t?

Don’t mistake the three star rating as «mediocre». I just don’t give out 4 and 5 star ratings to fast food, pizzeria’s or ice cream parlors. I save the top ratings for first class dining experiences.
Having said that, there is a reason why Dairy Hut has been around Oswego since the 1950’s. It’s good!
I can’t believe I’ve been in Oswego for 5 years now and had never been there! That was remedied over the weekend.
Dairy Hut is not just about ice cream either. Their menu is full of a variety of sandwiches such as hamburgers, italian sausage, pork tenderloins virtually all under $ 5. They also offer a full compliment of side dishes all in addition to their signature ice cream.
On this night, we each ordered sundae’s. Scrumptious! I went with the Turtle Sundae which hit the spot very nicely.
It’s worth checking out. Good food, low prices in quaint downtown Oswego. Not a bad combination at all!

Awesome specialty Sundae’s, the food is very good, from Pizza Puff’s to their great grilled Chicken Breast sandwich’s.

If you are looking for a big town experience or even Cold Stone, Just keep driving, Daiiry Hut is the real thing that’s why they have been here so long and will be here a lot longer.

Dairy Hut? What kind of name is that? I don’t know how long this place has been in Oswego. We decided to stop by here since the Cold Stone is now closed. As it turns out, it was a good decision. They are very family friendly and can turn around orders pretty quickly. I had to try their funnel cake sundae. I had mine with hot fudge and whipped cream. Proper! Everyone had a great time on a beautiful, hot Sunday afternoon. I have to give it three and a half stars, but I can’t round up. The service was great and the owner, Jeff, came out to say hi and visit with the patrons. The funnel cake sundae was tasteriffic. The decrease had to be due to the fact that it seemed like a DQ and that they didn’t really have their own shtick. I mean, really, Dairy Hut??? I should go out and open up a Burger Bell or something.
But I digest, if you’re in Oswego and you have the chance, please stop in and get yourself a good sundae.
…and Jeff, if you read this, can I recommend maybe a specialty flavor or concoction from time to time. Great to meet you and loved the funnel cake sundae.
