Super service with a smile! ! Every time I go in to that location somebody is always willing to take the time and help or to make sensible suggestions! Thank you for having a well trained staff!

Recently went in to find some goods for a custom build, everyone was helpful and friendly and knew what I needed. Several people went out of their way to help me find what I needed. Management could learn a thing or two from their employees. I tried to contact management to tell him how much I appreciated their stores great customer service and they were nowhere to be found… That being said, the non-manager related customer service was phenomenal and far outpaces other local hardware stores. We came here to order a new sliding door(we left Menards when we realized the 18 yr old on the floor didn’t have a clue). At HD we worked with Glen and Jerry. Both very knowledgeable and friendly. However, we were consistently told incorrect information and when I spoke with the manager she would tell me something different than what Glen or Jerry told us! With winter approaching we really wanted our door and the process took a lot longer than it should have! For example, we were told the store would call us when the door came in. But they took it as their own inventory and after 2 weeks when my husband called they realized they did have it. Two weeks without our new door was very frustrating when we have an awful draft coming into the house. They did at least delivery it for free! If you make a large purchase I would be double checking any info someone gives you.

Typically I won’t write reviews for chain stores, however, the service my husband got was exceptional. He went there to ask some questions about hooking up electrical to our hot tub himself. Not having any experience with a job of this magnitude the electricians at Home Depot were so incredibly helpful. Not only did they spend a total of about 6 hours throughout the weekend talking, explaining, showing him parts, etc., they were so thorough and professional. One even offered his personal phone number should my husband have any questions. I was so pleased and thankful they were there to help. With said help, my husband successfully hooked up the hot tub, with no issues, and he couldn’t have done it without their help! Not to mention saved us about $ 1,000!

I went to the store in Oswego, IL today to get some information about replacing most of the windows on my house. I went to the Windows dept. and looked around at windows until the woman finished helping another customer. She noticed I was there, but never spoke to me. When she finished with the customer, she walked away and spoke rather loudly(as if talking to somebody). I am hungry and need to eat. I was left alone in the section. I guess the store is not interested in people shopping for windows. I went to the service desk and had to wait for someone to get there. I told that person what happened. She asked if I would like her to find someone. If that is the kind of customer service I can expect before I make a large purpose, I can only imagine how bad it would be after they got a sale. I have had great experiences with the home and garden and grill section and with the kid’s workshops, so I don’t think the problem is store-wide. However, in my opinion, that kind of treatment for a potential customer is unacceptable.
