I’m not a big coffee drinker but I really liked the coffee here. I had an iced latte which was great! I’ll be back again!

Pretty good, the coffee can be very good if it’s prepared by the right barista. I’ve gotten very inexperienced baristas before and the coffee has been absolutely terrible, but most of the time I get good baristas, and my coffee is good. I recommend a latte or a chai latte. The interior is pretty cute, but needs work.

After reading about Kaioen in Orlando Weekly I was excited to have a new spot for coffee in Oviedo. Unfortunately I was left underwhelmed by the coffee and atmosphere. Not to say any of it was bad, but I didn’t feel that it was really for me. I would suggest someone try it out if they were curious, but I don’t think it will become a usual spot for me. The selection is limited, but there’s enough to choose from and I always prefer a place to offer a small strong selection rather than an endless list of mediocre offerings. My wife enjoyed her Americano very much, but my Cold Brew Maple was a little disappointing. I couldn’t quite tell if it was the coffee I didn’t like or the maple flavor combination, but I do know I will never try that again. We also came at a time when there didn’t seem like much was available to snack on which was disappointing. The minimalist atmosphere, while appealing to some, felt more unfinished rather than an inspired design choice. And the staff was attentive, though I did feel a bit condescended to when the staff member explained the donation model and«suggested pricing» price-list. I kind of felt like he was talking to me like a five year old, and I didn’t ask for the explanation in the first place At any rate, like I said earlier, this place just really didn’t strike a chord with me and I probably won’t go back, though I do see some potential and how it could appeal to other people.

Delicious coffee, they serve Panther! Love that it is a not-for-profit, you choose what you’d like to pay. I got a vanilla latte and opted to pay $ 6 plus a tip(always tip!). I’m very particular about my coffee and this was excellent. I love the building but unfortunately it is very small so if a loud group or two comes in it can get pretty distracting/annoying. The upstairs was closed when I went but I look forward to checking it out next time I go. And, wifi was pretty good.

In all, this is a very quaint and cute coffee shop. As with a handful of other coffee shops in/around Orlando, Kaioen is a non– profit. With this, all process listed are suggested donations. You can pay more or less should you wish. The first thing I noticed is the parking lot is not clearly marked. It is not along side the building, but rather across the street. The shop itself is very simple. I came in on a Thursday morning around ten, and there was only one other patron. The batista was extremely friendly, talking the time to explain how the pricing works. I must say, I was very disappointed that they do not offer any French Press coffee, which I would have expected a place like this to offer for the quality and taste of the coffee. I opted for a cappuccino, and sat upstairs to focus on writing. The coffee was not exceptional, but it was better than anything you would get at Starbucks. They also have a large seating area upstairs wroth tables, couches, and a meeting room. There was also a lot of outlets and extension cords to charge your electronics. While I would not go out of my way to come here on a weekly basis(as I live by the airport), I would recommend anyone looming for a good cup of coffee and a quiet place to work to check out Kaioen Coffee.

I’ve heard a ton about Kaioen and was really excited to experience this place for the first time. There is a lot of great personality here but there is definitely room to grow. Visually everything here is great. I’m a sucker for clean, minimalist designs and Kaioen has definitely nailed it. There is a ton of seating both downstairs and upstairs, so finding room to work is not an issue. All the seating is a little close together so I can see this place potentially having issues with people navigating through it. Also the rumors are true about the staircase. Be careful! It is extremely narrow, especially caring stuff and your beverage. There is also a loose wood plank at the landing up top to be aware of. Voices also travel in this space, so just be aware before having an intimate or private conversation. The drinks served here are nothing to write home about. I got a cold brew that had a bit too much sweetener, but I could tell the quality is there. My friend attempted to order a cortado but the barista added too much milk, and didn’t seem to be confident in what he was asking. Kaioen is a place I definitely won’t come out of my way for, but it has so much potential to be great. I’m hoping in a few months they can turn some things around.

What’s not to love?! A coffee shop that has great specialty coffees, and gives back to local charities. You hit a rough patch? No problem! You can still come here for a great cup of coffee and relax. There are only suggested prices on the board. You pay what you can afford. Folks, this is what welfare should be about. We all help each other out, and when you’re doing well, you throw in an extra buck or two. When things are tighter, maybe only pay half of what you normally would. Or not at all. Don’t worry about it. We as a community have your back when you’re struggling because we know the community will have our back when we’re struggling.

I have been making my way around to the different coffee shops and today I chose to come here to sample the coffee and check out the atmosphere. I want to love this place but there are some hits and misses… Let me start with the hits… The cold brew coffee I had was absolutely incredible. One of the best I have had. The latte’s my wife had were delicious according to her. The spiral staircase leading upstairs has a real cool factor. The upstairs is very spacious with a large round table in one area, plenty of tables and chairs and a sofa with 2 chairs in a recessed area. The sofa was very comfortable. The WIFI is great and for those with access VIA Brighthouse, the signal is strong for the regular and secure access. There is outside seating for those nice days… Now for the misses… The parking is VERY limited… The church lot across the street is basically their parking lot. The«SUGGESTEDDONATIONS» chart looks more like a «price sheet» the way it is presented. The staff changed while I was upstairs and when I went back for a second latte for my wife, the barista just turned the register to me expecting a donation. The spiral staircase gave my wife a scare since she is afraid of heights and the steps are kind of narrow. BECAREFUL! When people talk, their voices echo through the entire place so speak softly or you will be heard by everybody. I will be returning here but the wife was not very thrilled with the spiral staircase or the way voices carry. A couple of young men were talking loudly and disturbing the people trying to study on the second floor. I took a moment to thank the young lady that let the two young men know they were disturbing the others just before leaving. That was very considerate on her part.

Really nice and homey café; there are many places to sit and the décor is simple yet elegant. I appreciate the fact that they have many LOOSELEAF tea options. I cannot stress enough how much better it is to have loose leaf options than the packaged teabag tea. I recommend the wonderfully fragrant strawberry tea. It’s a bit warm on the second floor but I love the fact that they have a second floor in the first place.

Nice hidden coffee in Oviedo. The place has two floors with nice sofas upstairs. Little warm in the second floor. The latte was very good. My daughter had an iced strawberry essence tea and was very flavorful, made with leaf loose tea which made a lot of difference. I was worth it to drive all the way here!

Upon first sight, you’ll notice a cozy looking place with two floors. Perfect. If you’re looking for a comfortable place to work, socialize, or just to escape from life, then look no further than this homely coffee shop. Once you drive past the border of Mitchell Hammock(if you’re coming from UCF), take a moment to appreciate how different this part of Oviedo is. Find parking at the church next door and walk on over to start your day. When you enter, you’ll notice once of those awesome spiral staircases you wish you had at your abode. The design is very minimal: white, not much artwork, and not distracting. The upstairs has more tables and comfy couches for you to loaf around on. I could see myself in PJ’s lounging on the couch, but I suppose I should act like an adult and not wear PJ’s. The menu has the standard coffee shop fare of lattes, coffees, pastries, and more. They procure their pastries from the local Del Azucar bakery in Oviedo, which I applaud. I decided to order the Iced Maple Latte based on what other reviewers and what the guy in front of me ordered. At first, it tasted like a standard latte and I was almost disappointed. Then I gave it a good stir and tried it again. And again. And again. Until the jar was empty. Now I don’t know what to do without the mapley sugary taste in my life. A bonus is that this place is a non-profit, so it’s donation based just like Downtown Credo –which is great because Downtown Credo is quite far. I will definitely come back to support this place and enjoy the vibes.

Tucked in a quiet neighborhood in Oviedo, Kaioen is the perfect place to get away from all the crowds you’ll find near UCF. The pricing model is similar to Credo’s — all drinks have suggested donations and the revenue made goes back to the local community through purchase of local ingredients and donations to local non-profits. As for the drinks, I don’t know what some of the reviews are talking about, but the Iced Maple Latte is to die for. I can sit here all day and drink these nonstop.(Which isn’t a surprise, considering that they use Panther Coffee.) Stop by sometime and give it a try!(Or don’t, so I have all the space to myself :3)

Come for the environment, not for the coffee. It’s astounding that a coffee shop that carries Panther beans(the best in the state) can have such stale, burnt tasting coffee. The space here is absolutely amazing. It’s a humble little place that is very clean and communal. It reminds me of a little fort; it’s unbelievably comfy! What they did with the space is so simple yet so beautiful. Overall, I’ll come here to be with friends and have long conversation, but there is nothin special going on in the coffee department(yet). The beans they have will be the best you’ll taste, but the way they roast them ruins the smooth taste Panther provides.

This is a great new place in town. I’m a new student in the area and was looking for a place with good coffee and had a good atmosphere for studying. This place has both! Their cold brew coffee is very good and not bitter at all. Upstairs is a great place to relax and do some reading. Music selection was also great and wasn’t too loud. Overall a great place that I hope many people visit to keep it open.

Have had the chance to visit Kaioen several times. I don’t drink coffee but I love all of the tea selections that they have! My girls love to come with me and always beg for a Vanilla milk and one of the amazing cookies made by one of the local bakeries. The upstairs is a nice place to relax and talk. There is a great little room to have meetings in and having a restroom upstairs and down is convenient. This new coffee house is a great addition to the Oviedo area!

I stopped by Kaioen last week to get some work done on my computer and check out Oviedo’s first(in my opinion) coffeeshop. You’ll find Panther Coffee from Miami brewed here. I tried to visit Panther while in Miami, but this gave me a much closer to home chance to try it. Tasty, on par with other roasters like Intelligentsia and Stumptown. No bitterness to be found in my latte. It’s also a donation-based set up, so you pay what you want. There are suggested prices on the menu. The space is very light, lots of white and gray tones throughout. The upstairs portion was a unique touch for this area, and I liked the spread of small tables. There’s a room with several chairs around a large table that could be used for meetings, as well as a couch and some comfy chairs on the back wall. The restroom is also upstairs. Parking is in the lot across the street, just take the first left after exiting the roundabout. I was there through the early afternoon and saw mostly college and high school students, leaving me feeling like the mid-20s dinosaur. The acoustics are loud upstairs, so I could hear every word of the conversations around me whenever I decreased my headphone volume. The separate room could work well if a larger group were trying to have a meeting. All in all, I think I’ll stick with getting work done where there are more people my age. Just my personal preference, but I may swing by again for a coffee as Kaioen continues to grow.

I came here on a Saturday around 11am. We were the only customers. The place looks very hip and cool, with long open hours(I believe some nights til 11pm… Nobody in Oviedo stays up past 9pm) I was told that they did not have any baked goods available which made me very sad like a puppy that just got neutered. I ordered an espresso which was decent. My wife got iced drip coffee which wasn’t so great(didn’t even finish it which says a lot cause she is a relapsed coffee addict). the hip vibe and the local Oviedo location/feel make up for the coffee. Do not wear a skirt or a dress because the spiral stairs are narrow and high. I unfortunately wore my Irish kilt and while going upstairs, I heard the barista yaking like the girl from The Exorcist. Well I’m sorry! The upstairs is also super cute, with a make out couch at the end that if you beamed a CSI blue light on it, you could probably see it from space. This would be a good place for an acoustic or open mic night. Let’s make it happen! Edit: came back here again. Coffee wasn’t too good. Lukewarm and forgettable. I want this place to do well, so please, pick your game up! If you don’t sell food(they only had cookies), the coffee better be top notch.

I came here on a weekday around 11AM and parked at parking lot of the church that is next to the coffee shop. I was at first confused when I noticed that the shop didn’t have any actual parking itself, only two handicapped spots. Once inside though I overheard a worker tell another customer that it was recommended to park in the churches lot. The coffee shop is super cute and has two stories to it with a beautiful spiral staircase inside. I would suggest going up and down the stairs with caution as I almost slipped and had many other people tell me about almost slipping on the stairs too. All the seats upstairs were taken when I was there and the bathroom is also upstairs. The bathroom was very clean and cute. Once inside it wasn’t very packed but the entrance was crowded with a couple of people. The barista that took my order was super nice and explained the way the coffee shop works. It’s a not for profit shop and you pay what you believe the drink is worth(don’t worry they also have a menu with suggested prices). I ordered a cortado and a croissant and my fiancé ordered a vanilla cold brew. –Croissant– it tasted amazing and was fresh. It had powdered sugar on top with almond slivers which made it all the better. It also had a yummy sweet filling that wasn’t overpoweringly sweet. I’d recommend the croissant! I believe the get their croissants from De Azúcar bakery. –Cortado– was well made and delicious, however they don’t sweeten your drinks so I took a sip without knowing so and was shocked. Once I added a bit of sweetener it was perfect though! –Vanilla Cold Brew– My fiancé ordered this but I ended up drinking a good portion of it. I wouldn’t say it was the best cold brew. It was not very concentrated and more water than coffee with a splash of milk and I couldn’t detect the vanilla. It was okay, but nothing more than okay. Overall, I would definitely say this place is worth checking out. It’s a super cute coffee shop and the upstairs is super cute and has comfy couches for relaxing or studying. This coffee shop is somewhat close to UCF so I could see a good amount of students coming here to get work done. I would recommend the croissant and the cortado and that you use caution when going up and down the stairs!
