I was very surprised to travel to Owatonna, MN and stumble upon an incredible restaurant. The food was absolutely top notch. Clearly chef prepared, nothing was pre-made. I was extremely impressed by the recipes, the presentation, and the overall quality of the food. They had a legit craft beer selection with some incredible local brews. I will definitely be back!

Stopped here with my girlfriend after going to the discount Nike store nearby. Much different atmosphere than I was expecting. I would almost classify it as «fine casual». I ordered the«Napoleon» which was my choice of protein(i ordered the salmon) covered with a seafood cake, asparagus, and Hollandaise sauce. It also came with my choice of side and I picked the garlic mashed potato. The salmon itself with the seafood cake and sauce was pretty good. Nothing amazing but definitely good. The mashed potatoes were pretty far from mashed. Huge chunks of potato covered with butter and cheese. Our service was pretty good and they were relatively slow around 5:30pm so it was nice and quiet. I’m not sure I would go back if I’m ever in the area again but I’m glad we tried it.

Came here on a friends recommendation but wasn’t too impressed. We had the BBQ ribs and seafood cakes. The ribs seemed a little bland and the cakes seemed small for the price. One thing that was fun was the martini menu. We had a appletini and a mint chocolate kiss martini, pretty tasty. This is not a family casual style place but more a dating atmosphere.

A must do if in the area. Family owned and operated — very warm people. Homemade soups and delicious entrees. Husband had the grilled chicken sandwich with no toppings, perfectly cooked, juicy goodness(zero condiments required… when was the last time that happened?). I had the Thai noodles with chicken… savory, spicy, sweet delight, fresh red peppers strips which were unexpected but perfect compliment(and I am not a pepper fan). Great restaurant, wish it was closer to home soas to be a regular. Oh, and 16 beers on tap with some nice local crafties. Will be back

Nice place in town for lunch or dinner. I like the oriental chicken salad. For dinner is recommend the jumbo shrimp. It’s not bad for seafood in the Midwest. The atmosphere is casual and its close to lots of shopping.

My mom and I drive through Owatonna every year on our way to Ely. It’s a 14 hour drive. Decent food is worth it’s weight in gold on the road. We called in a takeout order and this place had it ready in 15 minutes; it was delicious. They were super nice and everything was great. I highly recommend the walleye fries! Thanks for saving us from fast food monotony :)

I came here for the lunch buffet, and came away full, spending less than I had anticipated. The food was all OK, nothing out of the world, but not bad either. This is definitely a place I’ll come back to. The salad was pretty good, the warm rolls were a nice touch, the BBQ ribs were a bit disappointing, and the meatloaf was OK. The sides were all pretty good, and it was nice to have so many vegetables offered. The service was quite good.

Great food great service would most definitely eat there again. We asked a few people where to eat and they recommend Torey’s. It was a fantastic place to eat we were not disappointed. I had the salmon and the friend that was with had a steak both were cooked perfectly, prices were decent for the quality of food we ate. Would most definitely recommend the place and would eat there again

Top notch service! They really make you feel right at home here and a great bonus… the food is delicious! Happy hour specials are a great start to the evening. $ 2 Michelob Golden Light, $ 2 off on all tap beers. $ 3 house wines, and special priced appetizers. The nightly dinner specials are a great addition to the menu. I have my favorites here and always order a Caesar salad with my meal. Best dining experience in Owatonna and recommend to anyone.

We waited for over 5 minutes to be greeted at the door, although I poked my head in the bar more then once. We waited for too long to get our first and second round of beer. Sent back the worst tasting blackened chicken I have ever tasted(that is how it supposed to taste, Torey said) after waiting 45 minutes for that.

Just left Torey’s Restaurant, what a pleasure. Our server Margaret was very pleasant and helpful. The Tanqueray 10 martini was perfect, as was our dinner! I am from California, and will be here for 4 days and will be back again before we leave!

Bloodys are great. Cop at the bar is very friendly. Maddy is the best server in the state. Would return for sure.

This is the perfect little restaurant; small, warm and inviting. The hostess was sweet and kind and acknowledged the fact that I was dining solo. Service was prompt and the waitress made me aware if the specials right away. The food was great! I ordered the Caesar salad with salmon and the salmon fillet was huge and grilled to perfection. The only reason why I am giving this 4 stars is they do not have all of the wine on the wine list in stock. Why have a wine list?

French. Onion. Soup. Three words you need to remember if you eat here because this is without a doubt what this place should be famous for. Torey’s offers up one of the few«fine dining» options for Owatonna. The reason I put this in quotes is because it is an environment that offers the option of being a business casual lunch spot, or can cater a formal event. Everything from a $ 9 lunch buffet to a 5 course meal. I have had quite a few different menu options from said lunch buffet, to their ridiculously delicious salads, and their fresh sandwich and burgers… my mouth is watering thinking about it haha. My only real complaints about this place is just the location. It is the corner unit in a strip mall-esque building. There isn’t a ton of seating available, and the bar is rather cramped. I really wish they were a standalone restaurant, or at least larger than they currently are.

Met the family at Toreys today for Mothers Day Brunch. I brought flowers to decorate the table for Mother in Law and Sister in Law as I heard they do not decorate for this occasion I didn’t eat as the only food was the buffet and being a vegetarian. There were not enough options to justify the cost of the buffet. The«breakfast» portion of the brunch consisted of eggs sausage bacon and fruit There was very thin French toast as well. That was it. No bagels muffins bread other than a dinner roll. When the manager realized that I couldn’t eat he said«we do not have a menu today to order off of» didn’t offer anything not even toast. The reason it was upsetting is because I specifically called asking if there would be enough options for someone not eating meat. There was a pasta and salad but again I wouldn’t want to pay the buffet price for that. The option wasn’t offered up. The family said the food was good for what it was. As we’re were getting close to wrapping up, the waitress actually said«not to rush you but the next party is here and we need the table» while were taking. We were there about an hour and half at this point. The waitress made some other comments that made us wonder«is she kidding or serious» and they added gratuity. I always think that a buffet tip verses a served meal should be at the customers discretion. Not that we wouldn’t have tipped. I’m a good tipper I wouldn’t ever go again. I do not know if it’s the type of place that the whole town has been frequenting forever, as they were busy but, definitely not something I would recommend.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch on the drive from Minneapolis to Northern Iowa. We wanted to eat at a non-chain restaurant, and after much searching, we stumbled upon this place hidden behind a KFC. Service was fine, but the food was a mixed bag. I ordered the French onion soup, described as a «house favorite,» and a Caesar salad. Both were merely passable; the soup was surprisingly bland, and the lettuce-to-goopy-dressing ratio was way off. But my husband loved his fried fish sandwich, which was topped not only with cheese but also with BACON! What a revelation! Every fish sandwich should have bacon on it! So although I should have passed on the soup and salad combo, I have to hand it to Torey’s for changing our standard fish sandwich order forever!

We visit Owatonna 4 or 5 times a year and have eaten at most of the restaurants in town. Torey’s is the best. Most of the locals we know here avoid it because they think it’s too expensive. But being from Los Angeles, we find it priced in a medium range and a good value for excellent food. Last night I had one of the specials, Duck Jambalaya. It was great and I took a third of it back to our hotel room(I usually finish a meal because I don’t know when to stop). My wife had a sirloin steak which she enjoyed very much.

After eating at just about every place in Waseca we decided to venture out to Torey’s as a suggestion by a local coworker. It wasnt a far drive for very good food. We started with the walleye fingers, they weren’t bad but not the best. Then for the entrée I had one of the specials which was a Sea Bass with a fried mashed potato side. It was some of the best sea bass that I have ever had. The service was very friendly and the lighting was just perfect. Pair all this with a good beer selection the place is easily 4 stars.

A good find! Doesn’t look like much outside or inside — a bit too dark for my tastes, but the food was good. I tried a decent french onion soup(only $ 2.25 with my meal) and a well executed and tasty broiled walleye. The accompanying fries were especially delicious. Service was friendly and prompt. Thumbs up.

A very decent dinner spot. They have a full bar and a menu that incorporates sea food, pork, chicken, and beef. They have a new happy hour that looked promising. The pasta was drained in cheese, my walleye was good, and the peanut butter landslide dessert was great. Service was a little slow but worth going to. It’s somewhat hidden behind a gas station and subway. It’s just behind those.
