Ordered delivery from here for the first time and everything was delicious! Fish and chips(with a taste of Old Bay on the fish) with cole slaw, mozzarella caprese(fresh mozzarella with tomatoes, basil, and olive oil), fresh guacamole, and for dessert, tiramisu and Oreo mouse(an Oreo cream cake). Delivery was on time and friendly. My only complaint is that some olive oil was leaking from the paper delivery bag, but that was a small price to pay for the delicious food. I will be ordering from here again!

Being part of a photo shoot more often than not the food of choice is pizza, this time was no different. The photographer I was working with was told by his wife that she heard good things about Papa Gil’ s so we decided to give it a try. The photographer ordered $ 70 dollars worth of food. That order was greeted with the comment, «Someone has the munchies» Which when repeated to the rest of us seemed to imply we were all high. The order took a while to get to us and almost immediately our model(who hadn’t had much to eat as this was her second shoot of the day) noticed pineapple in her calzone. She had ordered a calzone with pepperoni and sausage. She was so hungry she started to eat it but we thought she should still get what she ordered given how much money we just spent. The photographer called back explaining the situation and another calzone was on it’s way. When it came the delivery guy didn’t seem to know what the procedure was in this situation. First he asked for the first calzone, then he noticed that the model had eaten part of it, he told her to keep it because it would only be thrown away. All should have been resolved right? No, the first order was 16.99 calzone which is an ex-large. What we seemed to have received was the 13.99 large still I paid for an ex-large. They even came in different sized boxes. So we called back because we also asked for an itemized receipt that we never received. This time I decided to speak to someone. I spoke first with the manager whom seemed to be very apologetic but unable to do anything seeing as I paid in cash.(by then the model was more than ready to go home) He asked me if I wanted to speak to the owner, to which I said yes. I started to relay my story from the beginning where the OWNER then told me he was the one who made the«munchies» comment. He did apologize if he offended anyone but how is that even appropriate? I proceeded with the rest of my complaint. Every time I said something he had an excuse, new employees, stretched out dough, busy night, ect. Then he said you’ve already eaten both calzones … Meanwhile half of the first and all of the second were sitting in front of me.(I have pictures of all of this) He went on to say I’m sure you’re enjoying the rest of our food. This point was snarky and irrelevant, The service was the issue and quite frankly still is. I told him that this was the first and last time I’d be ordering from him. The OWNER didn’t seem to care about losing my business,(even though when we have shoots we spend a lot to feed everyone, the potential for bigger orders was definitely there) then he tried to rush me off the phone, telling me he was done talking to me. I replied, «That was fine I’ll go to Unilocal with my issue.» His reply was, «Oh you’re one of those …» I hung up after that comment. Clearly I am, «One of those». In fact that’s what a site like this is for, people like me who want to praise the good businesses and warn others of the bad. Who runs a business this way? Who talks to customers this way? What the OWNER doesn’t know is that the photographer’s wife works at a near by business that orders from them often. She was near the phone the whole time and heard everything. She informed me she will be telling her coworkers about our treatment and advising them to spend their money somewhere else. I still needed my receipt. So we took the pineapple calzone back to receive that, as well as at least a portion of our money. The photographer went in and did receive the money back for the calzone and receipt. He was told, «We only messed up two orders tonight» Unfortunately one of them was ours! Honestly why did it even get to this point? Why is my patronage any less important. I felt terrible for our model who just wanted to wind down and have something to eat. Please take your money else where. Somewhere where people are grateful to receive your business. We certainly will be.

I came here with a couple of friends for lunch because it was one of the best options around for a healthier meal.(I intended to get a salad, I swear!) I’ve passed by Papa Gil’s a million times but had never before been there. In fact, the last time I was at this location it was still Little Tony’s(and I have no idea if Papa Gil’s is the same owner). I think because of this switch in restaurants, plus the décor(which was surprisingly pretty) people tend to think of Papa Gil’s as an Italian joint. A lot of people online mention their pasta and pizza, but they really have a lot more than that. On each table they were advertising their Latin menu, and we spoke with the owners who made the very bold statement that they make crab cakes good enough to rival the best in Maryland! When we got there the restaurant was empty. We sat at the biggest table, and there was a leak from the ceiling that dripped right onto the table next to me. The waitress promised us that the ceiling wasn’t caving in(so, I mean, that’s good) and said that the air conditioning just leaks onto a bunch of the tables. That didn’t exactly start things on the right foot. Then I started looking at the option to make your own salad, which is pretty great! They have a lot of different toppings so you can customize it to whatever you want. The problem, in my opinion, is the price point. The salad starts at $ 10.99 — that’s for unlimited vegetables, fruits, and«crunches»(which are things like croutons, nuts, wonton strips, etc.) If you want a protein, that’s extra. It goes from as cheap as $ 2.59 for tuna or chicken salad to $ 6.99 for shrimp. Hard boiled egg is even an extra 99 cents. And then adding cheese is another 99 cents for every variety. So if you want a chopped salad with shrimp, cheese and egg, you’re pushing $ 20. That’s on the high end for a quick lunch salad in Owings Mills. That’s actually even more expensive than the notoriously overpriced salads at Flying Avocado! I ended up ordering the grilled vegetable panini, which comes with eggplant, zucchini, roasted red tomato, mozzarella and a basil pesto spread. Not exactly the healthiest thing on the menu, but it was DELICIOUS. I highly recommend this panini! It also came with French fries which were really crunchy and good(it took all my will power not to eat all of them). For whatever it’s worth, my friends salads were really big and they seemed to enjoy them. It did take a while for the food to come out, though. I think it’s a good sign of things being made fresh, but it does make it really tough if you only get a one hour lunch break and want to dine in. If you have any type of lunch time crunch your best bet is to place an order for pickup, because I don’t know that you can get in and out within 45 minutes.

EVERYTHING is amazing here. Salads are always super fresh, subs have thee best rolls, and the pizza is one of my favorites of all time. On top of that, the staff is always so friendly and kind :-) Highly recommend to everyone!

Stopped by to try one of their cheesesteaks. Although it was good, but sadly lacking in meat. There was more roll than steak. Fries were wonderful!

Handful of local pizzeria’s, but none of them deliver. Finally, one that does! Papa Gils is miles above the Papa John’s I’ve been forced to order when wanting to be lazy. Delivered in a timely fashion and the cheese was still hot and melted. We ordered a medium pepperoni. Based on the type of crust, I wouldn’t order more than 2 toppings considering it might overload the thinner style crust. Staff was friendly and prompt – we found our new pizza place!

The staff is very friendly and the food is good for the price your paying I usually get a pizza combo of 2 slices and a soda for like $ 5.00 which is quite fair considering Terris nearby is outrageous with pricing. I suggest coming here if you work in the area or want an inexpensive clean place to eat.

Second time here, figured I would give it a review. Place is small and well lit. I sat myself and was greeted by my server. Never introduced himself or welcomed me to Papa Gil’s. After looking over the menu I ordered the manicotti. Comes with garlic bread and a house salad. He choose to give me house dressing. I didn’t specify what type of dressing so house dressing it is. House dressing needs a makeover. Yellow in color, I’m guessing olive oil, feta cheese, white vinegar and herbs. Not much to write home about. Manicotti: average, sauce could use some sugar to counterbalance the acidity and needs a little morr garlic and spices. Pasta was too Al dente and could use a few more minutes in the water. After eating the manicotti I’m pretty sure this is a frozen manicotti and NOTHOMEMADE! Service was average. Seems like everyone that came in was a local and the staff knew all the customers so I guess that’s a good thing. Last time here.

Order pizza and fries for lunch today it took almost 2 hours to get our cold pizza delivered. We ordered 2 Xl pizzas one cheese one pepperoni and they delivered 2 large pizzas. I called to see what’s up the guy on the phone blamed the delivery guy and said he would talk to his boss and call me back I never heard back. Super disappointed

I was a fan of this place at first. They have good pizza crust, but every time we came back the pizza seemed to be greasier. The people at the front counter are nice but the waiter in the dining room acts as if he could care less about the people eating there. The last straw was wondering what my son was staring at and looking up to realize the waiter was watching Ultimate Fighting on the dining room TV. I really don’t want to see people beating the pulp out of each other during a family dinner with my two young kids! It’s as if it never occurred to that moron how incredibly inappropriate that was! We got up and left right away and haven’t been back since.

We’ve tried this place twice now. Neither were super amazing. The bruschetta is good, but everything else is just alright. Plus it is VERY slow. We will most likely not return.

We decided to finally try this place on a whim. Opinion = meh. Between the time we took our seats and our food came out, 40 minutes had passed. We ordered a sub and a sandwich. There’s really no excuse for that. The restaurant only had 9 tables, and it was only about half full. The food was fine but nothing exceptional. The same food is served in thousands of restaurants across the country. The staff was friendly, but only goes so far.

One of the better pies of pizza in the areas. I have tried every pizza restaurant within a 20 mile radius of this place. Pasta mista and this place are almost identical give it a try… Wings are good too!

Have ordered subs and pasta in the past and they were pretty good. Just ordered pizza for the first time and it legitimately taste like cardboard. I didn’t say a thing and waited for the other 4 people to speak up and they did. Everyone commented on how it taste like cardboard. Plus the delivery guy didn’t even have a pen to sign the receipt with. The restaurant is about a mile from my house and it took well over an hour for my cold pizza to arrive. Pasta is good, subs are good, don’t waste your time on their cardboard pizza.

Having grown up on Italian food, I’m a little biased, but this place is great. It’s a great addition to the Owings Mills area. Their food is great, the service is fast, and lucky Stevenson University students can use their flex dollars. [Take advantage of it while you can Mustangs!] I haven’t made it there recently, but their Chicken dish over spaghetti with a lemon sauce is to die for. I crave it from time to time and have even tried to recreate it. Without any luck I’m definitely going to have to re-visit soon.

I stopped randomly and noticed Victoria’s review while waiting for my sausage and onion pizza. I’ll write while waiting. The coffee is good. The place is clean, the one TV can be heard in the background, and there are about a dozen covered tables here. There is one restroom. So when the pizza comes… told me 20 to 30 minutes so it must be fresh… people are friendly… service is good… coffee is really good, perhaps European… pizza is fresh… thin crust is good… came on raised metal tray which i like but haven’t seen in years… Overall 3.75 stars.

After my precious Little Tony’s closed I was hesitant to try the replacement. My boyfriend lives in the area so we usually like to try pizza places on Friday’s. This review is long overdue because their pizza is GREAT! Fresh and for a good price. I haven’t found a place in the Owings Mill’s area with better pizza. You can eat in, or carry out!
