I’m giving 2 stars only because I do like the food. However, it is WAYOVERPRICED. Also with liking the food– no matter what I order it basically all tastes exactly the same and same goes with the spice levels. It’s random. That all only matters if you can get them to answer the phone. Half the time when I call to order take out nobody will pick up the phone. So they probably have to over charge to compensate their lack of sales since nobody will answer the dang phone. What happened to good customer service in Oxford? I can’t seem to find it anywhere. It’s a joke!

The plain naan was really good and free during lunch time. The aloo choley sauce was good and spicy at a level 3, but the potatoes didn’t taste as good as they could have. Chick peas could have been a little more tender. Service was fast.

Ordered chicken mahkani and a chicken curry. After 1.5 hours, the food arrived and we could eat! The Mahkani tastes exactly like panang(thai curry) very yummy. Sadly we could not enjoy the other dish due to some lovely hair in the rice and the curry itself. Called the place back and explained what was found. The man asked us to bag up the stuff and return it to them. Then asks me if I want a credit for the meal for next time we come in. Really, you cant offer a charge back for the meal we paid for but could not eat? No thank you. He says he will just remake it and send the driver with the meal and to hand the driver the hair. I’m a bit grossed out to even eat it. First time here and most definitely a last.

First time I went in for dine in. The roti bread is really good. Always tastes very fresh. Rice is really fluffy and easy to eat. Not that dried up hard rice you would get at a buffet. Usually I get the chicken tikka masala. The first time I had it, it was delicious. No complaints whatsoever. The chicken was finely shredded and really tender. The sauce that it was covered in was really spicy. Just how I love it. Tried it a second time for carryout and the chicken wasn’t really up to par. It wasn’t as shredded as last time and was actually kind of tough. The service is pretty decent but nothing to rave about. Nothing that blew me away. The server I had did an okay job. She seemed bored though. Checked up on me once which is really I needed since I was just by myself. If you’re to order from here I recommend ordering when they are dead and order for dine in. Overall I would come back again.

Great flavors but portions are not huge and the charge for Naan bread is very steep. I have eaten there several times and for some reason always find a single hair in my food. That doesn’t freak me out like some people but I wonder how clean the kitchen can be. The service is great and fast but the décor is strictly low rent. So in summation: great food and service with a questionable setting for a pricey menu.

Excellent(and only?) Indian food in Oxford. They ask for spice level, which is very considerate, from 0 – 6. The service was good, the food was great, but the price is what makes it only 4 stars. It’s more than you’d expect to pay for the amount of food you get. But the food is good enough that you almost don’t mind.

The food is good. I had the chicken curry at a number four. Was more then enough to fill me up. But the price for what I got was very high.

I came in to pick up dinner and Sukh recommend to Chicken Tikka Masala and I couldn’t even make it out the door– I had to stop and eat some right then and there! So delicious.

You can see previous iterations of my ever-evolving take on Krishna below. But I am currently upping the stars to THREE. Why? Well, having shunned Krishna for a while due to the ghee issue I mention elsewhere, my past four visits have been consistently ghee-free lol. Well, not quite. But the food does seem to be consistently good fare. I usually order vegetarian, and usually alu gobi, aloo saag, saag paneer, or vegetable korma. Each has been good lately, and good among my companions as well. A solid go-to for Indian food. The spice levels are not consistent. The nan is great. The service is good. The décor is meh. The people are nice. I’ve never been astounded with the apps… even the samosas. Not sure what’s up with that…

One of the few times Jules and I managed to tear ourselves away from the goings-on at AcadeCon this November, we elected to swing by Krishna for a filling Indian meal(and some food that wasn’t from the Hueston Woods Lodge Trailblazer Dining Room). Krishna is just off of the Miami of Ohio campus and it certainly caters to the college crowd. The restaurant itself is fairly sparse and employed several of the college students who, in between checking on customers, chatted about classes and the like. Not a big deal, there – it does with the territory, I suppose. I could have done with a somewhat more attractive interior, but there are certainly worse things in restaurants. Things were clean and tidy, which was a plus. However, Krishna definitely seems to be much more of a «take-away» sort of joint than a sit down restaurant. A long counter opens onto the dining room proper from the kitchen and in order to get to the restrooms, you have to walk right past a set of walk-in fridges. So, again, it’s take-away…but is it good? Well, it’s take-away. My lamb korma was a touch on the tough side. While the sauce itself was competently done and of a good texture, there were none of the nuts or raisins that typically feature in a dish like korma. Jules’ mateer paneer looked better than mine, with tender cheese and a suitably spicy sauce. The naan we ordered was tasty and tender, soaking up the sauce with ease. Interestingly enough, I found that my lamb korma actually tasted better when I had it as leftovers. The flavors of the sauce were slightly more developed after settling and the rice had soaked up all that sauce beautifully. My leftover naan, though? Not so much. While I’m a sucker for Indian food and would be willing to give Krishna another go, were in in Oxford more often, I’ve just had better Indian elsewhere and would sooner try a new restaurant on our trips to Oxford rather than visiting a spot that didn’t quite impress. Still, if you’re really jones-ing for Indian food and you’re in Oxford, Krishna’s not too bad.

I love Indian food and actually spent some time in Delhi this January. This is one of the best places to go within two hours. The food is super authentic and prepared with a lot of care. They are really good about making dietary accommodations(I’m vegetarian). The portions are enormous, but for college students it’s great because we get more bang for our buck! I love that this place is so randomly situated in Oxford, Ohio because of how rural we are. The wait staff is super helpful and attentive. They also deliver pretty quickly to local addresses. My preferred dishes are saag kofta, saag paneer, malai kofta, the aloo paratha(bread) and the veggie pakoras. Honestly though, you can’t go wrong.

This is not edible food and is definitely not«Indian food». The plain rice was not cooked all the way through. The chicken meat was too tough to chew. The biriyani is absolutely not Biriyani(I’m a Hyderabadi and I know my biriyani). It’s basically uncooked rice mixed with a weird sauce which I have never tasted before. It had green peas and other veggies which have no place in biriyani. WAYTOOOVERPRICED!!! If you do eat here, stick to lassi and veggie apps.

Was from out of town, the restaurant selection seems very limited in this town. This place had a good star review. With that being said, maybe this is the best option, as I don’t agree with the star rating. The food didn’t taste authentic, our waiter said about 5 words to us, and some of the kitchen staff were eating out in the dining area together at a table, giving my girlfriend a little more attention than she felt comfortable with. We got to-go boxes, but ended up throwing it away.

Krishna was my first experience with Indian food, but as I tired more and more Indian food locations, I began to appreciate Krishna more and more. Soon, it became not just my favorite Indian restaurant, but my favorite restaurant PERIOD. I have never encountered a dish that I didn’t like at Krishna — everything here is prepared fresh and is incredibly flavorful. That being said, my two favorite dishes here are Chicken Tikka Massala and Lamb Saag, though you won’t go wrong with any other dishes. If you are new to Indian cuisine or have a weak pallate for spices, I recommend starting with the former dish at a low spice level(yes, you can customize your spice level here — something that might appeal to many diners). Garlic naan is also a must. The basmati rice that most dishes are served with is fragant and delicious on its own merit. I have also ordered takeout and delivery here several times and was nothing short of impressed with the overall quality of the food and service. Delivery might take some time, but keep in mind that they are making these dishes fresh and often dealing with a high volume of in-store customers. Finally, no review of Krishna would be complete without mentioning their excellent service. After coming here several times as a student at Miami University, the waiters/waitresses and other staff actually built a rapport with me. To me, this is a quality paramount to a good restaurant experience — having guinuinely friendly, helpful staff. The good folks at Krishna have always been incredibly helpful and check in on their diners frequently throughout the meals, though never being overbearing. Furthermore, they are always incredibly accomadating to guests when there are large crowds and make sure that customers who are waiting to be seated do not feel neglected. This is one of those places that makes Oxford a great city.

This is not Indian food. They have two base sauces for all the dishes and all the food tastes the same. No variation, and so expensive for the quality of the food. Delivery is a plus, and that’s why this place gets a star, but the price really needs to be halved for the quality. I think people continue to go here because they do not know anything about Indian cuisine, or it’s the closest thing around Oxford…

I’ve been to India and the food here is pretty good compared to the real thing. I don’t get it too often, so that I don’t get tired of it mostly. But when I do, I usually get the Lamb Rogan Josh with a side of buttered Nan. Super good!

Free delivery is already an awesome feature! Recommend the following: –Chicken Tikka Masala –Butter Chicken –Chicken Tandoori Naan –Mango Lassi All food is good but those are my favorite and just the right amount of spicy with level 3 or 4!

For Indian food in a college town, it’s not bad. They stay true to their spice(1 – 6). Their dishes are okay: they have a flavorful sauce for their curries, but it’s the same vase for their channa, also gobi, chicken vindaloo, etc. It’s good but boring if u get 2 with the exact same taste. Also, some of their veggies are a frozen mix. Ask. Their dal soup also uses it. Love that they deliver, however their time is AWFUL. I know it takes them a good 45 minutes, so instead of calling and waiting 45 minutes, I called 2 hours earlier and gave them an approximate time. They were still 35 minutes LATER than that, so I didn’t even have to call early if I wanted it at that time. If their time wasn’t do bad, I’d give them a 3.5−4. But because they’re so slow, 2.5−3. They also aren’t the nicest. And often make mistakes when you order something(such as adding cream when I said NODAIRY because I can’t have dairy. And they were late)

I didn’t think I liked Indian food until I had Krishna. It’s small but the service was good both times I’ve been there. Both times I went there for lunch I got the chicken tikka masala and naan(which is free with a lunch entrée). It cost $ 12.99 which I think is pretty expensive for lunch in Oxford Ohio. However, it is pretty tasty!
