Hands down my favorite place to eat in Oxford. I always get the Mississippian as a calzone. Pulled pig nachos are also amazing. Perfect for game day or just a week night. Highly recommend.

Finding good pizza was a concern of mine coming from the North East where pizza is part of our food pyramid. The pizza here is REALLY good. You can even build it how you want if you feel more creative than their menu. I like their 4 cheese with marinara and pepperoni. The BBQ nachos are awesome. I never thought I would enjoy such a dish. Worth it!

Drove in late on a Friday night for a visit to Olé Miss the next day. Got in to the restaurant about ½ hour before closing time. I’d say it was pretty average food. We had a pizza and some shrimp nachos as an appetizer. Nothing stood out either negatively or positively, thus the 3 star rating. Fairly big restaurant which has a lot of seating. We’d stop in again if in town to try some other menu items.

Was very disappointed in the pizza. We went on a Tuesday evening at 8pm and the place was nearly empty. I just got pepperoni and feta on my half and my daughter got sausage and roasted garlic on her half. Normally I always put fresh basil on my pies, but they charge for two toppings for basil! At $ 2 for toppings, I’m not paying 4 bucks for an HERB. The flavor of the pizza was decent but the crust was.…chewy. Which was odd because it’s a thin crust and seemed to be cooked thoroughly. The chewiness made it overall a pretty lousy pie and we were pretty bummed. Also had Caesars to start and they were also poorly done. Grated Parmesan(really??), and croutons that clearly came out of a bag. No noticeable anchovy in the dressing. It may be a decent place for college kids but we won’t be back.

Today was my first time trying out this place and I was very hesitant to go because of negative reviews on the food. However, my food came out quite good. I had the creamy crawfish soup which was thick, with a little spice and plenty of crawfish. I also shared the carnivore pizza which was also good. I liked the pizza dough. It’s more on the thin side but gives the pizza a good crunchy texture at the crust. Service was good and attentive and the server was helpful on recommending the various sorts of pizza they had on the menu.

Soulshine Pizza Factory: cute name. As for the pizza? Highly disappointed. Our server was nice, attentive and efficient. The food was fresh, hot & …bland. I had lunch with my mother, father & wife an we all agree that Soulshine is probably nice for college students who want to drink, not for families wanting a good pizza to dig into. That being said, I’d give them the benefit of the doubt and give them another shot on another occasion, but not for a while. **Sidenote: My father had the Spaghetti w/meatballs entrée and it had the same allure as noodles & Ragu. The garlic bread was the best thing at our table…

I always order«sleeps with the fishes» pizza. It’s a very unique place with a wide variety of menu items. I have also tried the muffuletta which isn’t as good as some I’ve had(I’m spoiled from New Orleans) but is pretty good. The environment is very relaxed and open. Great drink selection and they have cold Abita rootbeer on tap.

For those folks who are familiar with Mellow Mushroom(hailing from the somewhat nearby state of Georgia), Soulshine will provide the same funky, granola vibe… with alfredo and pesto sauces holding as much weight as the normal marinara. With Soulshine planting roots in the neighboring state of Tennessee, I can«ssee» why there is no Mellow Mushroom vying for Rebel fans. This Oxford staple, a little off the square, yields one eclectic mix of food: from tamales to chili-cheese nachos, the menu caters to all. To expound, I think the tamales come from the Delta, so you can be sure that grease and pork fat abound in these corn husks. Going further, the pizzas are all over the spectrum, but the one that I picked out(in my unique, weirdo fashion) was the Sleeps With the Fishes, a pizza adorned with alfredo, crab, peppers, and shrimp. Yup. Cheese and crab are not my favorite combinations – I had a bad experience with a seafood lasagna – but this interesting pie certainly entertains. Nothing to write home about, but in a town where fried chicken and meat-n-threes reign supreme, Soulshine provides a little kick in the area of American Pie i. e… pizza.

I don’t like calzones. This place has a great family friendly atmosphere. The pizza is subpar but the toppings make it seem ok. The bathrooms are clean, lots of booze selection and they have Mountain Dew. This place is too colorful for me. Good pizza is found in whole in the walls which is why there is no suprise this place is not that. When I eat a pizza I want to be in a real greasy joint with some real shady people. I ate there one time and some football coach named Freeze started talking through a loud speaker at everyone. It pissed me off so I left. Three stars.

A good, albeit slightly over-priced place in Oxford. The food is pretty good and the portion sizes are fair. The beer selection is okay, and reasonably priced. The menu is rather diverse which is a plus, so you can go regularly and try something new, or if you have a group of people hungry for a variety of different tastes. Bathrooms are very clean, but the stall door in the men’s room has a hook latch that you’d normally see on a hotel room door, which is very weird.

Extremely slow service. I’m sitting at the bar with an empty drink for at least 10 – 15 mins, second time I’ve been waiting this long today.

I can’t believe this place has bad marks. We were in from South MS for state soccer tournament. The manager accepted a party of 44 at closing time. The food was great, the beer was cold, and the service fantastic. Thanks Chelsea

I love the atmosphere including this places predecessors but the poor service and food overshadowed the atmosphere. To be clear, my server was very nice however, it seemed that this place was short handed, even on a Sunday at 4pm. I ordered a beer that arrived in a chipped glass. This is quite possibly my biggest pet peeve at any service establishment. If your bartender is worth is weight, he should be ensuring that your glass is clean and worthy of pouring a pint. I brought this to my servers attention and after 7 minutes, I decided to retrieve me pint that was sitting on the bar while the bartender and manager watched tv. As for the food, coming from a family known for its pizza, I can be a harsh critic. My wife ordered a pepperoni pizza and it seemed to be missing marinara. My calzone was fine but we both discussed how light and flaky the thick crust was. Maybe it was an off day but we were very disappointed. The only reason I gave it two stars is because the server really apologized for the poor service.

After an 8 hour car ride this has become our first stop the last couple years. My kids love the Abita Rootbeer and pizza. If you want your everyday pizza toppings go for it but if you feel a little adventuresome then this is the place. They offer a great twist on the same olé boring pie.

Good atmosphere. Outside patio available. Live entertainment sometimes. But personally, the pizzas are all just too greasy. If you go there, be sure to order extra napkins for blotting.

Casual bar atmosphere. On the famous«square» down the street from the main drag. College place for sure-a little seedy. Nachos were okay. Big enough-the chili was not to my liking. If you try one thing-try the crayfish bisque. Very flavorful with a touch of sherry. My husband ordered it, I tasted it, and ordered my own bowl! The service was a little slow. Full bar but, if you want to drink wine-I wouldn’t recommend it here! Not a big selection unless you like cheaper wines.

Expensive for what you get. Pizza is good. How hard is it to make a calzone though? I’ve ordered a calzone three different times and the cheeses are always separated and balled up. You’ll eat a whole bite of pepperoni and then a wad of mozzarella. It can’t be that difficult. I’d rather go to Papa Johns. It’s an ok place to sit at the bar though.

My husband and I who are«Yankee» northerners stopped in here on a Sunday night. We sat at the bar because it was the only place we could get a decent view of a large screen tv, and apparently other than being the only miscegenating couple in the place(which appears to be shocking in Oxford MS), we were also the only ones who wanted to watch the NBA finals play offs. Finally one of the world’s mysteries was revealed to me – there is a place where people watch College Baseball and it is in this Southern college town that laments the loss of the war of Northern Aggression. But that aside, this review is really for my non-local compadres and p.o.c’s who might be Unilocaling to find where to go in such a town as this. The pizza was tasty enough and you can make your own. The crust is pretty unique – almost like a pita but with the kind of texture that would work with a pizza. Trust me, I know my food. The only cheese they seem to put on pizzas is mozzarella, which I don’t get, but ok, I’ll go with it. You can apparently put shrimp on anything There are vegetarian options a plenty and even an option for wheat crust. There is a good selection of local beers and indeed the beers come in more shades of brown than you will actually find in the restaurant, where the clientele is mostly dudebro and genteel white lady and GRITS types(Girls Raised in the South – I know my shit!) We stayed through half time of the game because it is kind of redonk to go to a place with 8 large screens with sports and have no ability to hear the game. The bartender on Saturday was sweet as can be and overworked to the max. But overall, decentish food, good beer and hey – its open on Sunday! So the rundown: safe for brown people, not the greatest food but okay. Just be prepared for everyone to stare at you and to have mozz. on your pizza. It’s really like riding in the Delorean back to 1985.
