LONG wait time on weekends which is the ONLY reason it gets three stars. The food is excellent, though! My favorite is the ribeye breakfast combo. The omelette safe huge and filling as well. Servers are attentive and it’s worth the wait time!

Read the reviews and thought I would give it a try… Initially, was sort of pleased that it wasn’t in a busy location… mostly deserted on the weekend. Had about 20 min wait.(average wait time). I found the food to be just okay… nothing special, I found it lacking the umpf I was hoping for. I mean realistically. .it’s breakfast… how much umpf and pizazz should I expect? I doubt that I will travel back to this establishment for breakfast, however, I’ll give it another try for lunch. I found the Prices comparable. .no big savings. The wait staff was pretty attentive… never had to ask for a coffee refill. You can see the photos I post, the food was just kinda bland for my particular tatste. Oh yeah almost forgot. the Cinnamon Roll was good.

Despite the fact that Café Amri is located in the run down Oxnard outlet, it brings in many customers. Only open for breakfast & lunch, the restaurant serves a variety of dishes. For breakfast, I opted for rib eye steak & eggs. Served on a large plate, the medium rare steak was cooked to my liking & evenly seasoned. It was clearly the highlight of the dish. Along with my steak & eggs, hash browns was served on the side. It was quite oily & had a weird after taste. Another go to dish is chicken and waffles. Everything on that plate was huge!!! The chicken was crispy yet moist. Fresh, sweet strawberries was served on the fluffy waffle.

First time at Café Amri, and it won’t be the last! Service was fast, servers were pleasant and attentive, and the food was delicious. The only regret I have is not being able to order more at this meal! I highly recommend you check out Café Amri if you are in the Oxnard area

My brother and I was passing through Oxnard on our way back home to Norcal and we both decided to have breakfast. We settled here after IHop was packed but this place had a bit of a wait also. We were both really hungry so we decided to wait. The inside was small with a few tables and small little booths to the side. I was fond of the way the interior was set up. Finally my brother and I were called to our table which was one of the small little booths. I thought it was a perfect place to sit because it wasn’t near the door or draft and it fit us both right. Our waitress was friendly and attentive and took our orders right away and refilled our coffee mugs. I ordered hot links and eggs and it came with options and I chose the bowl of fruit, grilled jalapeño, sliced avocado, and pancakes. I liked everything I ate except I thought the pancakes were okay. The orange juice was pretty decent compared to watered down OJ I get a lot at breakfast places. I thought the coffee was hot and refreshing too.

Sorry, but I didn’t think this place was all that great. I was eyeing the four piece chicken lunch special, so I asked the server if I can get all white meat. She said no because«everything is pre-packaged that way and she can’t make changes. Only to find out later when they served my friend’s food that they do have chicken breasts. Maybe she doesn’t know what white meat means. Since I can’t have the fried chicken, I opted for the Teriyaki Chicken sandwich. The sandwich alone deserves 1 star, but because the onion rings met my expectations, I’m giving them two stars.

So disappointed, hungry and very upset. We had to walk out from complete lack of service yesterday morning. We didn’t have a waiter come to our table at all after we were seated. The hostess ended up taking our order after 15min. of waiting. No waiter came to offer more coffee or ask if we needed anything for over the hour we were there. After waiting over an hour and trying get anyones attention we walked out. Will never go back again.

Another great breakfast here At the café! We sat out on the patio to day with my wife and one of our daughters. The service here is top notch the food is so very on point. glasses and coffee were kept topped off and the food was prompt and hot. I had the olé stand by bacon and eggs over easy and no runny white with sourdough toast. Elizabeth had the Ham and Eggs over easy. Sam had an omelet. We all split a side of biscuits and gravy and a cinnamon roll served hot which by the way is super huge delicious and amazing.

Decided to try this place based off of all of the positive Unilocal reviews. Sad to say, I was really not impressed. I’m not sure why the reviews were so great for this place? The food was mediocre at best, very bland and portions were average size, nothing that made this place above any other run-of-the-mill breakfast spot. I ordered the special omelette that had bacon in it or lack of I should say and only a little bit of cheese. They did give a nice portion of avocado with it, but that was pretty much it. The service was slow, the waiters were nice but not really fast and it took a while to get even our waters. They seemed aloof. They never brought my mother the toast that came with her meal even though we had asked for it and our waitress said she would bring it right over. If you want mediocre service and food then I would recommend this spot, I however will not return.

Our first visit but it certainly won’t be our last. We were in the area on a Sunday from Torrance, and decided to try Café Amri from Unilocal reviews. There is nothing at all that we didn’t like about this place. It was busy when we arrived and had to wait about 5 min. but that is nothing. As my wife said, it was a real cute place and of course we all know how important that is to women. Our waitress was the beautiful Staci and it was a pleasure being served by her. Remember the folding eyeglasses? She was very friendly, as was all of the entire staff working there. Our compliments to you all for everything you do to make our dining experience a great one. My wife had the fried Chicken lunch. She is really a nut about friend chicken and said this was probably the best she had ever had. Crispy on the outside, moist inside, not greasy and real hot! Mine was the chicken chicken fried steak along with pancakes. Both were excellent and pancakes light and fluffy and everything was hot. Just the way it should be. Next time we are in the area, we will not hesitate to stop and we will look forward returning.

Great place for breakfast! This is my second visit. The first was pre Unilocal with a friend of mine. She swore by it and said it was her favorite place to go and she goes out to eat a lot so I figured it must be good. I couldn’t tell you what I had, but I do remember it was great. The place was busy so it took a few minutes to get seated and this was at 10 am on a Monday and they have indoor and outdoor seating. So the second time I went was during a wondering day with my husband. We decided that going to breakfast was the plan and he said he was taking me to a place he heard was really great. Much to my delight we came to Café Armi! There was quite a wait, about 40 min. And I’d love to say it’s because it was Valentine’s Day, but as with all really great places you can have a bit of a wait. The little buzzers they give you have a good reach we were told so we chilled in the car and watched food come out and to see how service was going. Everything looked on point. It was like watching a ballet. Once we got seated our server was on point. Waters, coffee and juice out. Coffee was good too and hot. My husband heard that the cinnamon rolls were really good so we ordered one to share. OMG! That was a piece of heaven on a plate! Warm, soft good balance between cinnamon and sweet and sharing was a good plan we still ended up taking part of it home. 9 Times out of 10 I get Eggs Benedict if I see it on the menu, but I always ask to taste the hollindase first. Since we make it from scratch at home I am kind of a snob about it and that didn’t make the cut so I went to my next favorite go to. I had hash, eggs over easy, hash browns extra crispy and pancakes instead of toast. Yes I was going all out! Everything was fantastic! My husband got the ribeye medium rare eggs over easy, sour dough toast and a ½ order of buscuit and gravy. Thank god it was only ½ b. ecause it was a lot, but man it was tasty. Good, fresh buscuit creamy gravy with a lot of sausage. Usually the breakfast steaks are thin and pretty sad and end up over cooked. This one was a good size cut, not fatty, simple salt and pepper, great flavor and cooked perfect. The décor is cute and cozy, the service was great, fast, but not like they were trying to boot you out the door and everyone was on point. I will definitely be going back. Maybe next time I’ll try lunch :)

We stopped here on a trip up the coast on a Saturday morning. The restaurant is tucked away in a large, nondescript, outdoor shopping mall loaded with outlet stores. We were a little worried, as most of the shopping center appeared abandoned, except for a few places that open early. Once we got inside, we felt much better. The interior was clean, bright and decorative. It was busy, but we only had to wait about 15 minutes to get a table. The seating area was tight, as there wasn’t much space between tables, chairs and booths. The service was fantastic from start to finish. Coffee and drinks came quickly and often. Our orders were taken with precision and were correct. The place was bustling, as were the servers! On to the food… The chicken fried steak was a tad overcooked and a little tough. The eggs in the eggs benedict were done a little past poached. However, the chicken and waffles get high marks and were perfectly prepared. All our sides and accompaniments were tasty and well-presented. Based on the service alone, we’ll most likely give Café Amri another try. While we weren’t completely thrilled with the food, perhaps we caught them on an off day. Next time, perhaps we will all order chicken and waffles.

Stopped here on the way to Santa Barbara because I was craving eggs Benedict. I was disappointed at first that it was located in a shopping mall as it lacked character. The inside made up for it though… very upscale looking and decorative. It was packed when we got there but thankfully we snagged a booth right away. Espresso drinks were good and large and strong. My five year old was happy with the crayons and fun picture to color. I ordered the Benedict of course with a side of fruit. It was just okay. Cheap deli ham slices instead of a ham steak piece and the sauce was standard. Good poached eggs though. My husband ordered the ham steak and eggs with cottage potatoes. Everything on his plate was perfectly cooked but we were surprised that the potatoes were just fried slices kinda like French fries really. Service was friendly. Not a place I’d go out of my way for again.

This experience started off great. Was greeted at the door by the most friendly host ever! It was followed up by a extremely nice and friendly waitress. Like most that have visited we started off with the cinnamon roll. Hot, soft, and ooey gooeyness. I ordered the chicken and waffles and Steph ordered the chicken fried steak. Everything was absolutely delicious!!! Crispy not greasy chicken and a huge waffle. I needed a second stomach! Diffident will be back again.

I enjoy eating here, you are always greeted right away, and seated promptly, they have a great menu and wonderful specials during the week. The only thing is they don’t have sausage links just sausage patties, otherwise this place is perfect

The cinnamon is the real deal here. It’s a five if you’re into freshly baked, lots of cinnamon, and so much sweet frosting that you’ll overdose on sugar(which I am except then I have to exercise twice that day). The breakfast is fresh and somewhat more healthy, at least the omelets. However, the flavor for the breakfast is average, like your chain breakfast places.

I like to go there for breakfast and get chicken and waffles. The chicken is crispy and juicy and the waffles light and crisp. The pepper plant habanero salsa goes perfectly with the chicken. My only issue today was they took our order way after a large party that arrived after us.

Excellent service but the food was only good. I know this place has gotten rave reviews but lemme give you my take. The coffee was good n hot and refilled often. Our server Andrea was great and was attentive. We had fried chicken n waffle which was crispy and hot! We also had corned beef hash n poached eggs. The hash came out of a can and wasn’t homemade, kinda disappointing and one reason I only gave the place three stars. The cottage fries were only sliced fried potatoes… no onions peppers… why were they called cottage fries? Overall the place is good and especially for our road trip… relatively quick. Will I come here again? Probably not cuz here’s a good looking mexican place next door…
